'I've started selling to coworkers': Employee creates loophole for herself and coworkers after bosses dress code her

Bosses who insist on arbitrary dress codes are so annoying. Sometimes, dress codes are really important: for example, if you work in a hard hat area and need proper protective gear, or if you work in fast food and need nonslip shoes for those greasy floors. Those make sense. But this person's bosses seem to just like messing with their employees' wardrobes for no reason other than to have a power trip. U/Devils_av0cad0 wrote to r/Maliciouscompliance with an awesome tale of workplace compliance.…

There is a difference between working your hardest and only working. Life is all about balance and that especially goes for any career you're chasing. 'The grin slid off his face and his mouth went agape': Employee foils the plans of scam artist who thought he found a loophole

We all love a good loophole. Social media is full of people telling their favorite loopholes to get cash after a cancelled flight, return kids' clothing years after you bought it, or ‘hack’ a stores' return policy to your benefit. As a customer, finding a loophole can be great, but when too many people start to abuse the system, it results in a crackdown to stop customers from getting free stuff. Next up, this employee refused to do something his boss kept insisting on — but it was actually rea…

'She demanded I hire her, but I refused': HR tries to dump a slacker employee on a hard-working manager; they get denied even after they try to pull the 'single mother' card

Slacker people like to hide behind their perceived shortcomings in order to validate their lack of work ethic. The biggest problem with that is that they are immediately discrediting other hard working folks in the same situation, while making themselves a pity case for everyone around them. In this story, one slacker employee found refuge in her workplace by playing the ‘single mother' card, using the same excuse for every one of her deficiencies as an employee and a coworker.

This woman is moving on from all her school drama . As the OP, u/tryingclosetomybest, shared to r/pettyrevenge, she finally got the last laugh with a man who bullied her all throughout high school. Bullies can make life incredibly challenging for any young person, especially during their formative years. In school, it's easy for kids to get away with saying or doing mean things. At least we all grow up and leave school, and realize that the world is a much larger place than our hometowns. There…

'I quit my job and there may be a massive domino effect': Manager causes 'domino effect' when they quit their job

Sometimes all it takes is for one person to pull the plug and quit to make others realize they have other options as well. When that happens, the entire team can turnover within months, with the last of the team practically sprinting to get out of there before the building collapses on them (—will the last person out please get the lights?) Of course, there are usually a variety of issues bubbling away under the surface long before the entire thing boils over. Management changes are usually a d…

‘You can’t be here; I fired you': Employee gets reinstated after being fired for refusing to buy boss new drink, upper management reinstates employee despite boss's orders

Upper management usually doesn't intervene between bosses and their employees, unless the issue is considered unsolvable. In this case, it wasn't exactly that the case was 'unsolvable', but rather that this particular boss simply didn't have the authority to fire any employee. Not to mention that there weren't even proper grounds for this employee to be fired in the first place. OP was working as a carhop at Sonic at the time, and one day they were cleaning up all the drinks that the day shift…
