Engineering 101: When a telephone or power line pole splinters and is ready to completely shatter, first confirm stability history by checking ground for “ok” spray paint. Then, simply wrap a rope around it several times and tie said rope to neighboring pole. Then attach a red flag so people don’t untie the rope.
