Welcome to the temple of journalism’s hangover. Deadlines, sleepless nights, stoned editors… this former journalist has been there and seen it. And I’m probably responsible for my own fair share.
Probably Bad News is a collection of journalism’s worst hours — not the evilest, not the darkest, and certainly not our finest. Please enjoy before there’s no one left to bring you the bad news.

Love your new site — it really makes up for not getting Leno’s Headlines every Monday night! Thanks for the laughs.
do you take only english content? cause the guy at malaprensa (http://www.malaprensa.com/) has been digging spanish newspapers for 5 years now and some infographics are very self-explaining and sometimes he includes the link for the original article:

your site is pretty awesome. terminal illness is not severe enough….
God bless this site. I feature a couple of your finds at the start of every journalism class as a reminder for students to keep their eyes open when working in the medium. They just eat this up!
Great site, keep it coming!
Your site says “Established MMDCCLXII”…
That’s… 2762
Maybe you mean MMIX?
Buzinkai: I had just come to this page to comment on that, ha. Yeah, I’m wondering if “2762″ is relevant in some way.
Love the site :B
Can’t wait for future laughs to come.
I absolutely LOVE this website. I’ve already sent your address to a number of local newspaper people I know. Please, please, please do not stop. I have not laughed so hard in a very long time. Thank you so very much.
I just spent thirty minutes dying with laughter. I actually had tears running down my face at some points. KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!
oh my friggen goodness this site is amazing. i am telling everyone about it, my stomach hurt from laughing after every. single. one. absolutely ridiculous man. thanks for putting a huge smile on my face!!
I put stories on pages all day long and try to catch what I can for typos or just stupid headlines. Its great to see someone out there keeping track of the funny mistakes we make in the newspaper business.
Best one I ever caught before it went to press… but after I had printed the page… “PA Black Season Looks Promising”
Someone forgot to mention it was black BEAR season. lol
I had to laugh when I saw the report of the dog attacking ducks at Lithia Park in Ashland. This happened several years ago; it was my friend’s boxer who escaped. The ducks were actually two beautiful white swans who had lived in the pond for years and were the city’s mascots. It was really a bummer, because those swans were really cool. One died, the other was sent to live on private property somewhere outside of town.
How funny to see this incident, which happened many years ago, show up by Stumbling!
Re: “grandma worried about dinner roll count”,November 09, this is a spoof from the onion, not real news. Considering you have previously mocked newscasters for taking the onion seriously, this is an epic fail on your account.
i’m surprised there are only 14 comments here
buzankai and ricky-d: I’m pretty sure it’s an intentional fail, to represent the kinds of fails they post on this site.
*rickie-d, my bad
Amazing site.
First the Onion, now Weekly World News (“Restless Genital Syndrome”). I guess you’ll never run out of strange news stories if you don’t care whether they come from sources that are in the business of fabricating strange news stories. But it sure seems to undercut the whole purpose of the site, IMHO.
MMDCCLXII Ab urbe condita…from the foundation of the city (literal), or Anno Urbis conditae…year of the city’s existence (figurative)
Rome was founded in 753 BCE, the site was founded in 2009 CE…
Hence, the year is 2762 AUC
I believe you are right completely
What a truly good piece of writing.
