By that logic, so is Brazil, Nicaragua, Chile, and all other South American countries. People us3 the countries name for the people, such as Brazilian, German, Canadian, Mexican and so on. Which part of the name would be us3d for the U.S.A then? The Unitedians, or Statians? People chose to us3 Americans, because it’s easy and makes sense. (I know, I brought logic to memebase, but I got tired of the constant m0aning about this).

Maybe in the North. Down South we have southern hospitality, this is a fail in itself.
Not so much “The North” as it is the East Coast… especially the New York and New Jersey regions. Most of the rest of the country is fairly polite, and you’ll hear everything from “Sorry” and “Excuse Me” to “My Bad”.
I lived in the south (multiple states) for 10 years and met some of the absolute RUDEST people on the planet.
I live in the north now, and have for 14 years and I haven’t once encountered the type of blatant disrespect that I did on a daily basis in the south.
Waving at every car that you pass isn’t hospitality.
It’s because it’s hot and muggy in the south.

This person has obviously never been anywhere outside of their basement. I’ve seen/met some of the nicest people right here in the US. And some of the rudest dingleberries anywhere in Europe, and even worse in the Middle East. But above all, the French were the absolute rudest people I’ve ever met in my life.
The French are only rude to Americans and each other. I totally agree some of the nicest people I’ve met were IN the States. It’s the ones that travel that seem to be the biggest douchbags. I’ve met the cliché rude American in 15 countries on three continents. I think of it like the Jeff Foxworthy joke about the south. Something like “It’s not that there are only stupid people in the south, it’s just that they seem to get on TV more than the normal ones”. Something about being outside their comfort zone that brings out the worst in many of your countrymen.
You’ve obviously never been to France. They act like snobs to Americans, but they treat people of Arabic descent far worse. The French are in general Elitists, and you can see that effect in action in the French parts of Canada as well.

yeah, laugh it up. I’ve lived in europe for six years and you can’t even imagine how much more rude people were on the whole compared with Americans. Americans are actually fantastically polite, much as everyone likes to hate them.
i don’t travel a lot, but when i do i put a canadian flag on my backpack and people treat me great!
