As a woman I can promise this is true. When my fiance is wearing a suit, its hard not to just jump him where he stands. When he puts his glasses on too its almost impossible to control myself
you- im taking you home with me and sitting you in front of season 4 episodes until you renounce bowties for striped suits, yes?
even fezzes aren’t cool when you have a clever specs deficiency
nice troll logic Mr X, but for women the naked body appears to be less important than it is for men. Yes, we like a hot body, but you wouldn’t see many (hetero) women making comments like that about men!
When the heck did I ever claim to speak for all women?
Note that I used the word “appears.” I didn’t say “it is.” For me personally, I prefer to look at my man naked, but a lot of women feel otherwise (according to psychology research, that is, NOT the “acquaintances” you so helpfully assume I’m going by. I hardly have any female friends – they are nearly all male). So no, I am not even speaking for myself!
I’ve never watched a romantic comedy anyway, so have no idea what you mean by “boring romantic comedy characters” and that comment is totally wasted on me.
You don’t know the power of the no-life. Sitting alone in a room, in front of a computer, the blinds drawn, the door shut, barely able to move, barely able to see, munching on cookies, gorging on soda, never stirring, never even seeing the light of day.
Hay guise, stereotypes are always true right? I mean, that’s how the movies show it! Now excuse me while I go impersonate someone rich and famous in order to woo someone and they end up loving me for it anyway instead of calling the cops and getting a restraining order…that’s how it happens in the movies.
Men don’t care about lingerie any more than they’re care about the box containing a pizza. The goal is naked and lingerie is just closer to naked than other clothes.. Lingerie is really for women so they can “feel sexy”, whatever the hell that means.
Almost but not quite agreed. There’s nothing hotter than denim jeans and a tight t-shirt on a girl. I wouldn’t say no to lingerie, but if i took this literally, I would assume it meant that girls think that guys can look quite good in a suit, but it’s not what they mostly fantasize about, or necessarily look for when out clubbing.
Also, from the girls I know, that would be an entirely accurate statement.
I’m ambivalent, but clothes can look really good—plus there’s the added “mystery”. Nudity is not automatically the best thing ever. And no, it’s not gay.
The best you could get out of me is button up, khakis, and a bolo tie. Also a pair of driving moccasins. But I’m young and full of life; if you need a suite to do a job, odds are it’s the most physically exerting thing you could do and get paid for it.
Do you also wear your hat sideways, pretend to ride a skateboard, smoke pot, get failing grades in school, but still fantasize about being a millionaire baller one day?
I have suits from second hand clothing stores that don’t look it. Dapper can also be thrifty. Just hope no one asked where that darkish brown stain is from.
That may be a small part of it, but from my perspective as a “girl,” I just like the way a man looks in a good suit. Nothing to do with his confidence or lack thereof.
I wear suits now and than to school. (We all have our quirks) and people just tend to think i’m odd. Ladies don’t swoon or anything. I do it because I want to look nice. Also, classy ladies swoon.
What are we talking about here? Girls or women? Fact is, what you wear has an effect on your inner attitude. Be honest, adult women realise that someone in a suit is probably not a garbage collector but may be a successful businessman. If you young dudes get it wearing a t-shirt and jeans, she was either on the hots or you got lucky. In the adult world, women think futher than sexual relationships and the impression you make may be the difference between meeting the right one or not. Women look for security and long relationships – believe it or not, sex has an all together meaning for women than for men. Google a little bit on that.
Interesting. A hot guy in a nice suit is a real turn-on for me. I LOVE it when my boyfriend wears his suit: he looks so awesomely sexy. Yet, wealth has always been a turn-OFF for me. I don’t measure success by wealth or having a well-paid job, personally. However, I do also find guys in T-shirts and jeans very sexy in a different way. None of the boyfriends I’ve ever had have met me or “got lucky” while wearing a suit. I think you’re generalising a tad too much.
Have fun dying before me. I’m young, and I’ll take the low-stress/low-pay job over a highly taxing career any day. And in these times, even getting a job is a clear demonstration of responsibility. Times are also shifting to be more egalitarian, with relationships becoming far more casual.
I personally would rather see a guy in a suit than naked so lol If i see a naked guy I’m more than likely to grimace… but if i see a well dressed guy I’m more likely to be wide eyed and bushy tailed! lol haha
Good quality lingerie is certainly not cheap. Cheaper than a suit, yeah. But wait ’til you see how much the makeup and skin/haircare products we’re expected to use costs over time. A suit of proper quality will last you for years. Lingerie won’t last like that.
Expensive, often impractical, and easily damaged?
An unnecessary layer,obscuring the goods?
Makes the ladies swoon?
Your argument is invalid. Trust me. I own a suit.
As a woman I can promise this is true. When my fiance is wearing a suit, its hard not to just jump him where he stands. When he puts his glasses on too its almost impossible to control myself
Use a bow tie instead, much nicer and a lot more practical.
“bow ties are cool”….
you- im taking you home with me and sitting you in front of season 4 episodes until you renounce bowties for striped suits, yes?
even fezzes aren’t cool when you have a clever specs deficiency
Ditto that.
My husband doesn’t often wear a suit, but when he does, he gets very very sexy.
They probably don’t own one
Suits are ultra sexy<3
All clothes look best lying in a pile on the floor, hastily removed in passion.
only if said women have an office fetish.
I disagree. I own several suits and the females love it.
So if the guys wear suits in public, then I vote the ladies wear lingerie in public.
It’s only fair right?
I agree with Mr. X. I would also vote for that.
Mr.X for president !
wooooooooooooooooo!!
Go out in Newcastle, and your wish will be granted lol
Totally logical and fair.
Except in winter. If that were the case, there would be many women missing arms, legs and digits to frostbite. And that would just suck.
nice troll logic Mr X, but for women the naked body appears to be less important than it is for men. Yes, we like a hot body, but you wouldn’t see many (hetero) women making comments like that about men!
Um, speak for yourself. I have plenty of female friends who aren’t boring romantic comedy characters.
Maybe you need to widen your circle of acquaintences a tad before you claim to speak for all women.
When the heck did I ever claim to speak for all women?

I can not stress enough how much I have gotten laid wearing a slick suit. Heed the advice of the greatest bro of them all and “Suit up!”
I’m just saying.
Lol. “Laid”.
You’re 12 and you’re on the internet. You’ve never seen, let alone touched, a girl in your life.
Never seen a girl in his life? I find that unlikely.
You don’t know the power of the no-life. Sitting alone in a room, in front of a computer, the blinds drawn, the door shut, barely able to move, barely able to see, munching on cookies, gorging on soda, never stirring, never even seeing the light of day.
The life of an internet nerd. ‘Tis a sad one.
Cool story.
And you know this through…. personal experience? Unless you personally know the guy, don’t make such aggressive statements.
Demanded meadowlark3 aggressively.

Is it a fail because the poster disagrees that men look sexy in a tailored suit or is it a fail because the guy’s tie is askew in the photo?
I think it’s just a meme. “Fail” just means “meme” now, really.
Ah, i’m being a bit unfair on failblog; it is just labelled with “poorly dressed” as a category, not as a fail.
Ah, I see!
A well-tailored suit is a sign announcing:
“Gold-diggers, unite!”
You again, eh?
I love a man in a suit, yet wealth is actually a turn-off for me. Explain that…
Sounds like something a woman would say.
Er, yes. I said it and I am a woman. Your point being…?
A suit makes a guy look put together and like he takes care of himself. Not necessarily a wealthy look. Not poor and scrubby either, mind you.
Men don’t care about lingerie any more than they’re care about the box containing a pizza. The goal is naked and lingerie is just closer to naked than other clothes.. Lingerie is really for women so they can “feel sexy”, whatever the hell that means.

So… cryptic win?
Whoa whoa whoaaaa!! Speak for yourself. I could not disagree with you more. I find a woman in sexy ligerie vastly more appealing than stark naked.
Gay much?
I’m ambivalent, but clothes can look really good—plus there’s the added “mystery”. Nudity is not automatically the best thing ever. And no, it’s not gay.
Virgin detected
You set your own virgin radar off again
That’s cool, because I can’t afford either.

I’ll wear a suit to a wedding or a funeral, and that’s it. F@#king hate the things.
Do you also wear your hat sideways, pretend to ride a skateboard, smoke pot, get failing grades in school, but still fantasize about being a millionaire baller one day?
Yeah. That’s you.
This is true if you have tons of money to back it up. If you only have one nice suit in your closet, it will not work
Not true.
I have suits from second hand clothing stores that don’t look it. Dapper can also be thrifty. Just hope no one asked where that darkish brown stain is from.
It’s way more of a confidence thing. A lot of guys will feel more confident in the suit, which means more girls.
That may be a small part of it, but from my perspective as a “girl,” I just like the way a man looks in a good suit. Nothing to do with his confidence or lack thereof.
I’m more the kinda girl who goes for the jeans and t-shirt guys.
*fistbump* Jenn – me too.
I wear suits now and than to school. (We all have our quirks) and people just tend to think i’m odd. Ladies don’t swoon or anything. I do it because I want to look nice. Also, classy ladies swoon.
Some might be secretly impressed but just shy about it.
Generally, I prefer jeans and a t-shirt. But a suit turns good-looking into good-looking with class.
fake
Really? Why aren’t I constantly swarmed with girls, then? Every girl I know goes for t-shirts and jeans so it must be a localised thing.
Damn straight.

I’m suprised that no-one has commented that the guy ISNT wearing a well tailored suit!
His collar is ‘popped’, his tie askew, and he’s pulling it in together with his hands to make it fit better.
I agree! Proof, you say? Harvey Specter. I rest my case.
Amen to that!
Even better, a man in uniform.
Or out of uniform.
Knew that was coming…. Probably at the level of a Naughty French Maid outfit is to a man?
I mean I’ve seen some fugly Marines pick up decent ladies in their Dress Blues.
http://terminallance.com/2010/12/07/terminal-lance-86-a-better-recruiting-commercial/
So true
I’d rather just see them with a minimal amount of clothes on.
Or nekkid.
Great examples:
Neil Patrick Harris “How I Met Your Mother”
Matt Bomer: “White Collar”
And other obscure people that I can not recall….
Matt Bomer (the guy from white collar) apparently looks so good in his tailored suits he turned himself gay. True story.
It was slightly depressing to find out he was gay.. but anyone who looks like that, and can fit a suit like that has to be gay lol
I personally would rather see a guy in a suit than naked so lol If i see a naked guy I’m more than likely to grimace… but if i see a well dressed guy I’m more likely to be wide eyed and bushy tailed! lol haha
one word: saxx
what idiot made this? I don’t agree at all. I want my guys NAKED, and to actually have worked to make their body nice, the way women are expected to.
that’s not fair! ladies buy cheap underwear to turn us on and we have to spend hundreds on all these pointless layers and stuff to do the same to them
