There I Fixed It: A Metaphor for our Television Addiction

white trash repairs - There I Fixed It: A Metaphor for our Television Addiction

From the submitter:

So I get up today and the kids are up before me watching TV. That’s fine, it Sunday, got to sleep in, figured I go check my email and puts around online for a few. Later I go into the living room, to turn the TV so I can start watching Game highlights before the Super Bowl, but can not find the remote. I mean I searched everywhere. The usual places… In the couch cushions, under the couch, behind the couch and behind the TV…. nowhere to be found.

  1. Rotcod says:

We’ve all wanted to do that. We (men).

  2. zzzzzzzz says:

On time we gave up looking–next morning found it in my son’s pocket…

  3. Cool Face says:

and then submitter became the remote

  4. CaleerTheDragon says:

Not a bad Idea, can’t possible lose that.

  5. Loosh64 says:

I did something similar, but less restrictive: I printed a channel guide on a full sheet of paper, laminated it for durability, and attached *that* to the remote, with something like those pen chains at the bank. We kept it like that for two years or so, as I recall: worked out very well for us.

  6. Chilidog says:

Not sure if solution for remote loss

    or work of art

  7. LoK says:

What the submitter didn’t tell you was they got the chain to do this from the old dog chain since the kids killed it…..

  8. sttopid says:

Sometimes when i’m searching the remote like an idiot again i remember that my GF tidied up my living room. And then i usually find the remote – next to the tv. That makes so much sense…

  9. Dave says:

We always told my little sister the only reason my parents conceived her was to have someone sit close to the TV when we couldn’t find the remote.

  10. Casey says:

I posted that and Still have not found the missing remote.

But a good man always keeps a spare and so I chained it!

    Problem solved!

    Damn kids
