  1. Sheffield says:

How is that a win?? I think if anything ensures your virginity it’s those nails! It’s beyond nerdy and not even related to anything current. Fail!

    • Fábio says:

      Nailed it!

    • SSGirl says:

It’s like you know nothing. Being nerdy isn’t a bad thing and probably most nerds are getting laid more than you :) .

      • Duh says:

**Being nerdy isn’t liking Harry Potter. In fact, where nerds DO get laid, Harry Potter fans simply don’t. They’re pathetic in every way.

        • Arethusa says:

Just like the fact that you’re sitting here calling HP fans pathetic. People can like what they want, I mean I’m sure if you listed some of the things you’d like I’d think more than half of them are gay and retarded. Just sayin.

          • ScarletBelle says:

Just because you think something is “not cool” is no reason to use words like “gay” or “retarded” to describe them. Using these words in the context that you are, makes you look uneducated. Not only that but it is rude and hurtful. It is also a form of bullying.

        • hi says:

just because we like being cultured dosent mean were losers, i mean, is getting laid the only thing you live for?!

          • Against Dave says:

Being one of the main purposes in life is to reproduce. Yes, yes it is…. You sir, fail.

            • Blah says:

Getting laid is not reproducing…most times someone gets laid, reproduction is the last thing on their mind.

            • Sir says:

So your saying the only time you EVER have sex is to make a baby than? Lies

            • sami says:

you’re stupid, so many people love harry potter. and those nails being so intricate itself is enough to make people not think this is not lame and pathetic. if you don’t liket he nails that cool, but clearly youre butthurt about something if you are commenting on a nail blog about hp.

        • Kirstin R Clinton says:

LOL odd im pretty sure i get laid all the time…of course im married and a giant HP fan. Liking harry potter as much as a lot of people do doesn’t make them nerdy, it makes them geeky but their own little section of geeky. Remember, playing dungeons and dragons is not the only thing that makes you a nerd, and being a bandy is not the only form of geeky.
And what is pathetic is the fact that someone has to make fun of a section of people because either A. They are jealous they dont have something to obsess about or B. They are trying to act like someone they are not. Or C. Your a troll.

      • DJ Roksor says:

        for girls may be

      • notaHPfan says:

Lol, if you were as nerdy as you claim to be, you’d realize that SS is in most parts of the world associated with a particular nasty group of Nazis. Perhaps it’s time for you to hit the books…or get hit by one. Btw, spreading your legs is not a talent, if you were thinking about entering any kind of tv contest in that area…

        • Actually…….. if you read up on it, Harry Potter very nearly mirrors the story of Jesus. You can pull up bible readings and make direct parallels. Harry is born, hunted as a baby, gains followers throughout his journey, dies, and is resurrected at the end. Sound familiar?

          • Yeah, sure says:

Why is it that Somehow in Some Obscure way every story ever created just *happens* to be based on the bible? Stop drawing lines that aren’t there. It’s just silly.

            • Cormamin says:

Wasn’t the Chronicles of Narnia about Jesus too?

              • LunaLovegood. says:

                ‘faceplam,

                • LunaLovegood. says:

                  inform yourself http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chronicles_of_Narnia

Lewis originally wrote the book because he believed that England needed a tale of their own, and so did Tolkien, Since they went to the same university, They both challenge themselves to write the best tale England has ever read. Lewis and Tolkien wrote their stories to see who would be first to show their tale to an audience. I believe Tolkien finished his first. It was during this time that Tolkien wrote lord of the rings, and Lewis wrote Narnia. Lewis created alsan the lion. Aslan is what in Narnia would be Jesus, but no. Alsan is an alternative. The book is not based on Jesus.

            • Kirstin R Clinton says:

I have a great question. Why are you trolling this? If you think its stupid or whatever, why are you here? Why did you post?

    • Arethusa says:

Some people find nerdyness extremely hot. Honestly that girl probably gets laid more often than you do. Not related to anything current? Did you forget that HP just made millions of dollars on their movies, books, merchandise. Although you probably haven’t been outside long enough to realize these things, or looked away from your computer screen long enough. Go back to playing WoW. <3.

      • Meedles says:

You seem to have misspelled billions. :\

      • Sanguinivore says:

Let’s look up the word “nerd”, shall we?

Per Wikipedia.org: “Nerd is a derogatory slang term for an intellectual but socially-impaired, perhaps obsessive person who spends inordinate amounts of time on unpopular, obscure, or highly technical pursuits, or relating to topics of fiction or fantasy, to the exclusion of more mainstream activities.”

If something makes billions of dollars on movies, books, and merchandise, then it’s not really nerdy anymore, is it? That goes for the Star Wars and LotR franchise as well.

However, I wouldn’t trust you to know that, because you probably wouldn’t touch an actual nerd with a forty foot pole. Your idea of a “nerd” probably means to slap some thick-rimmed Lisa Loeb glasses and a novelty T-shirt on it.

        • Bloop says:

You misconstrued the meaning of “nerd.” First, the definition does say “unpopular, obscure,” pursuits, but it also says “or relating to topics of fantasy, to the exclusion of more mainstream activities.” That’s what the other posts are referring to.

It’s more about taking your like of something too far than simply just liking something that happens to be popular enough to have made a lot of money. You can be a fan of fantasy or science fiction (or anything really) without going overboard. When it becomes an obsession, that is when it fits the definition of “nerd,” and that’s how it’s being used here.

As far as saying someone does or doesn’t get “laid” based on their interests, that’s always a poor argument. Having sex is something that is fairly easy to do, and shouldn’t be used as a barometer of how socially acceptable someone is.

    • Ketorine says:

And I’m sure you think Twilight is better entertainment than Harry Potter, too.

    • AhhDerka says:

      What’s your point?

    • David says:

the boy next to her (or him) only has to say, “I wish I was sorted into Griffindor” and the boy would be losing his virginity in 5…4…3…2…1…

  2. Macglower says:

A repost from last week on top of the fail. Get new material.

  3. ktedrihsg says:

    Wouldn’t call that a win

  4. Mollywobbles says:

Excuse me, but how is this not a win? Look at the detail on those things – those crests are not easy to recreate, especially on tiny fingernails. They obviously took a lot of time and effort, and they are gorgeous.

  5. sweetlexi says:

although this prob took a lot of time and effort, it still looks pretty wack… less is more for me

  6. faraga1 says:

    Nailed it.

  7. That other guy says:

I think we can all agree, that this is a fail on winblog – so let’s move it along people, nothing to see here!

    • mutisi0n says:

Of course, our shepherd. We wouldn’t want to do anything that ensures our own free will, so let’s follow what you say, because it must be sound advice. After all, you did just call us “people” and say “move it along” in an (assumed) authoritative manner.

Well, you heard him or her, let’s do what they say to make them feel like they matter.

  8. hi says:

    WANT.WANT.WANT.NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. notaHPfan says:

Wow… now my greatest fear is that Harry Potter fans and Twilight fans will start breeding with each other!

  10. Slytherindor says:

Never call a potter fan pathetic! You should give that tittle to the twihard fans and twimums. We laugh at their untamed hormones, especially the married ones.

    -A proud nerd,bookworm and Slytherin.

    • Slytherindor says:

P.s Merlin, first off Harry Potter fans will never breed with Twilight fans. We don’t want dirty bloods children and unwanted std and aids.Edward cullen’s groupies, no that wouldn’t do. Voldemort did got away with one good killing.

  11. Simi says:

    I want these.
Also everyone saying nerds don’t get laid, let me just say that when I was librarian I got more offers for sex than at any other job I’ve ever had. Apparently the nerdy librarian fantasy is a very popular one.

    • Sanguinivore says:

So, now anything associated with books and reading is instantly categorized as being “nerdy”? What a sad social commentary.

HEY, I WORK WITH BOOKS AND BOOKS ARE NERDY THEREFORE I AM SUCH A NERD.

  12. Serpentine says:

Oh hey… I have one of those things she has in her hand.

  13. Sanguinivore says:

To be honest, the art just isn’t that good.

Nail art is really common these days, and I’ve seen better work than this done before. What’s the WIN here?

Oh, wait, I get it. Failblog is trying to maintain its ironic college kid image. Nevermind.

  14. JustAnotherFace says:

    *their
    Sorry about that.

  15. Choch says:

no, not a win. yes, definitely a fail. move along to your cubicles…

  16. Concerned says:

To whomever said that this was a great way to stay a virgin, i’ve gotta say, artists are hot, these nails are pretty sweet. i’m a pretty good lookin’ college guy, and i’d find these nails awesome. NOT fail.

    • Your opinion's the only one that matters. says:

Not fail to you. Contrived to me.

You don’t seem to grasp the concept of subjectivity, do you?

    • Choch says:

sadly he does not. also, notice the self-describing part in his post? pitiful indeed. lump him in w/ the fails!

  17. sarah says:

#1: This is most def a win. #2: Girl “nerds” have lines wrapped around the block of people wanting to hook up with them. They are like nerdy guys, only with vaginas…What is not to like? #3: Liking HP does not make you a nerd, though. #4: Nerds have more sex than you would think…Just because you are not getting any doesn’t mean the rest of us aren’t. (:

P.S. Where is the Sally Hansen instant stick on pattern for this? I need it ASAP… ):

  18. ManBroDude says:

    lol hog warts

  19. Kana says:

Pity on those who fail to look at this as a piece of artwork that required time and effort. I’m not a Harry Potter fan, but I appreciate seeing this unique nail art. It’s more interesting than those typical and boring pattern designs.

  20. James says:

Anyone else think they look like male fingers?

  21. LunaLovegood. says:

On top of that nerds can tell the difference between a man-sloot and sloot. We don’t want std and aids, or nargles. We nerds can get laid a lot safer.

    -LunaLovegood.

  22. V says:

These nails are definitely a WIN! The people that are saying nerds never get laid are just lashing out because they never get any lol. I’m an extremely “nerdy” girl, and I’ve never had problems with getting laid, neither has my boyfriend and he’s the epitome of nerd and geek and I find him to be damn sexy. Now, to all of you people who like to bash Harry Potter, I say go suck it. I am such a huge fan, I have a Harry Potter chest piece. :P Once again, these nails rock! Such a beautiful tribute to Harry Potter. :)

  23. Kirstin R Clinton says:

This is awesome, I wish I could do stuff like that!

  24. jellytots says:

I fapped to those nails FAP FAP FAP
