I think he does. Autocowrecks is about auto-corrections in text messaging. A silly comic strip revealing the, until now unknown to common man, truth that cassette were actually invented prior to the ipod, is in no way a text message auto-correction. Me thinks Cuddles the Safety Clown may be on to something.
It’s really sad how desperate Cheezburger is getting to compete with DY AC…are they just slapping anything funny with a ACW tag to try to draw traffic? If the site needs that much help it’s probably not worth keeping.
Braun – a german company, you might know them for electric razers, kitchen gear and such. now part of procter and gamble (if you look at a few beauty-products, you should most likely find that name on them in your household!)
I mean, like, oh. my. GAWD. if you looked at the T3, you should notice that it has quite a lot in common with the ipods, now doesn’t it? in fact, braun would have sued apple, if they would still have the patents on the design! but the radio was so old by the time apple aired with their product… oh, well.
Prophecy: Everyone who likes this comic will probably want to own a cassette player same time next year because it will be all hip and nostalgic to like them again. Bandwagons are cool, yo.
I don’t think the Minidisc was really a transition between tape and MP3 players…though it did rely on the Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding which reduced the overall data storage needs by 5:1…
I Laugh… Yet Feel Elderly.
I Still Have Some Of My Special “MIX TAPES” :-\
And Some Records…
…Most Of My CDs Were Stolen…
…Sheesh.
Thank Jeebus Dad’s Reel-To-Reel Tanked Before I Was Old Enough To Use It hehehe
My kids didn’t know what a cassette was.
Sorry, but they sound pretty retarded, yo.
lmao
And RIAA was happily suing all the way along.
Hmmm, I must have dreamt that CDs existed then…
Exactly. Cassette would be iPods Grandfather,
MP3*
And Failblog hits rock bottom.
They call it an “autocowrecks” merely because the picture has an Apple product in it?
Brilliant.
I don’t think you understand the category properly.

Thank you
It’s sad that people have to have something so simple explained to them, keep up the good work, chief!

Thumbs-up totally agree in these censorring-days why not take a dump on the corporations while we’re at it
Grandfather.
Yeah it would be grandfather. CD players are the fathers.
And the ipod should be missing a hand, no?
dead earbud.
Thank you, that’s why I was here as well.
Same, shamefully.
So what are reel-to-reel tape & wire recordings? Great-Great-grandfathers?
Let’s not quibble. I, for one, got a chuckle out of this one.
I see his hand magically grew back.
…and your Grandfather, – the 8 track tape, will come by as soon as they finish splicing him back together with Scotch tape.
I think any magnetic tape would apply, regardless of the method of recording (analog/digital) or number of heads used.
shouldnt it be a walkman (© by sony)?
and wouldn’t the mother be the braun T3 (© by Braun)?
and after all, wouldn’t this proove again, that apple just steals good stuff from other brands (© by Apple)?
Your right. I used cassettes, upgraded to Sonys Walkman, then to apple. Dunno what Braun is though :p

The Braun was a radio, re-re. It had a circular dial to choose stations.
Or are you going to criticize Rolls-Royce for using a circular steering wheel? I mean, like, oh. my. GAWD. cavemen invented the wheel?? Durrrrrrrr.

If you are a girl, however, please ignore that other comment and let me say what beautiful eyes you have and what delicous sandwiches you make.

I prefer my Sony XA5400ES SACD player.
Well, if it wasn’t his father, maybe he was a distant cousin. Still, it don’t look good. You know – mating n’ all.
i dont get it
what about vinilos and mini-discs?
I don’t think the Minidisc was really a transition between tape and MP3 players…though it did rely on the Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding which reduced the overall data storage needs by 5:1…
I still have my Minidisc recorder.
And it was another failure in marketing in my opinion — it never caught on in the US but was huge in Japan.
This implies apple is the good side…
it could be a clone
Ah no he is not. It’s records, reel to reel, 8 track, tape, CD’s, mini disk, MP3.

Good post, Love it. Keep it up. I appreciate it.
Repetitive post. Hate it. Name links to spam. I don’t appreciate it.
Besides, the iPod is a retarded sun, due to extensive sound degeneration because the codec-DNA is defective and sick.
……sun?
Really good post
Perhaps the simplest correction to the image could be changing “father” to “fodder”.
This picture is fail. The Ipod should have only ONE hand <_<
^This!
Darth Taper and Luke Skypodcolor (would’ve been better as “Skywalk-man”)
