you know what I actually have never visited aquaventure in dubai. I know Im lame Im sure most people make it around to going somewhere ridiculously extravangant and expensive like that but alas a room for one nihgt costs as much as the 10,000 car that took me 4 years to pay off
I think the picture was just just take at an odd angle. In other words the water level doesn’t go “up”, the slide just dips into the pool, and goes horizontally at the end. You can tell it’s level with the planters it comes out between.
and also, most waterslides are designed to let some water pool at the bottom so that it acts as a brake when you come down and reach the end. This prevents you from rocketing yourself down the shoot and hitting your little brother at terminal velocity.
also inb4 you cannot reach terminal velocity on a waterslide
I went on one of them at a water theme park in Florida. Trouble is you go down so fast you don’t get chance to see the scenery. You could be sliding through a room filled with naked women covered in jelly and not notice.
The woot blog posted some neat footage of this waterslide (it’s at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas) a few years ago. It’s in their video called “Real Actual Field Tests #2″ where they test a waterproof disposable camera.
FYI It’s the Golden Nugget at Fremont Street. Source: I’m a Vegas resident and have been to that pool many times. Can we stop arguing that it’s some absurd zillionaire-destination theme park now?
And the setting for Jaws 7: the Sliding
…never visited aquaventure at the palm jumeira, dubai? same thing, size factor 10.
Pretty sure this is in Las Vegas.
I agree with you good sir, Old Vegas. The golden nugget perhaps?
Yeah, because most people reading this have the means and resources to visit a water park at a hotel in Dubai.

….never visited Ayers Rock, NT? Same thing, but with sand and no water and no fish and it’s a different place.
LOL – funniest post on here
if i were one of those sharks, id bite the tube and die in chloride
Things that are doing it!
awesome wanna go there!!
Why does the water level extend so far up the tube? Something’s not right here.
It’s better that way! It feels so good when the “water level” goes “far up the tube”….
That “water level” looks like something else, to me…

This.

I could sure as hell give it a try!
That’s where all the water’s landing after it sprays out. There’s a lot of it, so the starting run-off point looks just as deep as the lower end.
It looks like it could be this one: Golden Nugget Hotel, Vegas.
http://www.goldennugget.com/lasvegas/pool.asp
It is … The entire pool area there is pretty awesome (lounge chairs in the pool, alcohol and food permitted) and it’s free to get in
The real question is, what happens when someone gets stuck in it?
unlikely to happen outside the southeastern U.S.
Thank-you for the nightmare fuel.
I was in the Bahamas a couple years ago and a shark actually jumped from its tank down the water slide. Died from the chlorine. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3849256/Shark-jumps-out-of-aquarium-into-swimming-pool.html
But I bet it was worth it.
“Ten kids reported missing around the same time. No traces ever found.”
“It was like Pac-Man”, said startled eyewitness.
Ok, i’m done.
Kind of ironic the slide was called the “Leap of Faith”.

I agree, it was the slide in the park that I wished was slower.
Wow, that’s amazing! Final step in beating your phobia of aquariums
I’m pretty sure It’s Siam Park, Tenerife. Temple of Doom.
My mistake, I meant Tower of Power.. very similar.

This should be in the “Things that are doing it” category. Look at it again, it’s right in your face.
I hope that thing’s well-reinforced.
FYI this is in Dubai, UAE.

FYI I’m a cooler Vegas resident than you.
But, Will it blend?
An indoor waterslide through shark infested water?? That’s a man cave even Batman is envious over.
It’s in Vegas, I was just there 2 weeks ago. It’s also outdoors.
