What is this “snow”? I’ve lived in Southern California my whole life and never heard of this snow stuff. Is it anything like this rain I keep hearing about?
This is why the rest of the country thinks we’re insane here in Washington.
USA, Y U NO USE WINTER TIRES?
There are places that get this kind of snow maybe once every other year. It’s usually not worth it.
I used to drive a small car with only 60 HP with summer tires in winter conditions and didn’t have so problems inside the city. Probably it was icy under the snow.
Snow tires: $400 per set.
Collision deductible: $500+ per incident
How’s that not worth it?
Throw in the hit to your fuel mileage from driving on those tires. Plus the fact that you’re most likely NOT going to actually get into an accident means they don’t make financial sense, no.
driving around in this today, car passes me doing about 70… on my way back, same car, upside down in the median.
SUVs good in the snow… unless you’re a moron.
Meanwhile my little sadan with all weather tires gets me anywhere I need to go.

If you’ve never been to Seattle, you may not realize how steep the hills are…The camera angle doesn’t do it justice…That being said, the person had an epic fial in judgement

I live in New England. I have a FWD car, I put snow tires on every winter, I carry a bag of sand in my trunk, I live on a hill. I have none of these problems. Also, was anyone else surprised by the blue Subaru Forester?
