it is getting ridiculous the amount of people with their phones out at gigs, why not just enjoy it? I have no sympathy for phones lost in moshpits this way
+1. The official photographers will get pictures/videos a zillion times better than your pitiful smartphone can manage, so what’s the point? If you want to remember the gig, just download the photo album from the band’s Flickr the next day.

Not really, it’s just exaggerated. During the 90′s metal lost ground to grunge, and a lot of labels had their metal bands changed their sound to grunge. It didn’t die, it did take a hit, though. Metal will never die.
you cannot kill the metal. the metal will live on.
I can only think of Pantera who really made metal thrive in the 90′s…

Should have labeled the ’90s one as ’80s and just put flannel shirts for the ’90s.
80′s should have on jelly bands and lace fingerless gloves on the girls and fingerless driving gloves and a bandanna around the wrist for the boys.

The term Rock was first used in the 50s actually so you COULD say rock was invented in the 50s . The 60s Revolutionized it however.

I noticed this at a race on NYE. A rave, mind you. Glowsticks and poi and LEDS everywhere and music so loud you needed earplugs to avoid permanent hearing loss. At the stroke of midnight, after everyone watched everyone else mouth the countdowns (couldn’t hear over the bass and earplugs), everyone promptly broke out their cell phones and started sending HNY txts to everyone. it was really sad.

Fun fact: the apostrophe goes after the number, not before it (ex., ’90s and not 90′s). This is because it is a truncation (1990s –> ’90s). In English it is technically always incorrect to use an apostrophe to make the plural.

How many people need to write it with the apostrophe at the end before it’s proper English though.
