I’m going to attack a professional athlete. So I’ll prance out onto the pitch and then skip up on one foot and make a half-assed swat in his general direction.
This is not the us, the jackass is going to jail on top of other things and the goalkeeper gets a red card & a ticket. Seems fair enough to me.
Should the unlikely case be that the t**t sues the goaly, he won’t have much of a case as it’s a case of excessive self-defence circumstances (what happened around him). And even then, he wouldn’t get much money, if any here as that’s not how our system works.
Update: the guy already had a stadium ban, and has been banned from stadiums for the next 30 years. He won’t press charges against the goalie, the goalie’s red card has been overturned and the game will be replayed from the start (even though Ajax – the opposing team was up 1-0 at the time) without audience.
The biggest fail is that one lunatic ruined the game…
And now they send the “fan” into jail for four months and two additional month suspended for two years on probation. Perhaps this will make other idiots think before doing something like this.
I have to agree… self-defense is self-defense. The goalie had no idea what kind of crazy s**t the “fan” was up to, and he acted appropriately to defend himself. I would have dragged the dumbass off the field and continued the game. The only point of replaying the game at a later date is because you expect other dumbasses to act up, but I wouldn’t want to give them the satisfaction. Rushing the opposing team’s goalie sure looks like assault in my book, and should be treated as such.
second

If some dumb*ss rushes the field, should be open season on him.

Soccer Fu! LOL!
His run was too foppish, I don’t think he was trying to assault him, i think he was just a fan trying to high-five him with his crotch.
