  1. Meh. says:

Oh I’ve seen this- it’s the Catalan Christmas tradition of the little s**tting man, El Caganer… Very odd tradition, I might add.

  2. Steven says:

This right here is what christmas is all about. No doubt.

  3. ethereal_joy says:

what??… i mean… just … what? i just can’t imagine what kind of christmas decorating commitee thought that was a great idea.

    • PostyPosterson says:

Correct you are! It’s in Barcelona. Mini-dolls of children doing this are an old christmas tradition there. This is an adult-oversized one.

      • nice says:

        BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!! GO SPAIN! GO CATALONIA!!!!

      • oriol says:

that’s it. it’s a tradition to make a small representation of the birth scene with small figures at our homes in here. then, you hide a guy who’s s**tting in some place of that representation and then, if you have any guests, they spot him. he’s not meant to be santa though, just a random guy who couldn’t hold it anymore. they are not children either. he used to be an adult guy, but now you can find almost any character you want to have pooping at home. there’s a website where they sell those and you can see them there if you are curious about it. http://www.caganer.com/

        • saycheez says:

That’s gotta be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of.

          • oriol says:

what, this one? i’m sure you’ve heard worst stuff… it’s not that we go mental with it. if you want to do it, you do it, but if you don’t, nothing happens. our lifes carry on either way. if you have this set up for 2 weeks and someone comes to visit you at home, he spends 20 seconds with that s**t, has a laugh for another 5 seconds and you forget about it until next year.
everything is relatively stupid, but this doesn’t take too much of your time. i’m sure you waste much more time every single day by doing much more stupid things than this one…
you probably go to church, watch american football on tv or have to pay “mandatory tips” on restaurants and all that (if you don’t, you don’t need to tell me, i’m sure you get the point). those are also stupid things to do, the only difference is we know making that representation is somehow stupid and take it as a funny tradition and most of the people who do those other things i mentioned won’t realize how stupid their things are (notice i never said they shouldn’t do them).

            • Gargamel says:

I’ll agree football is stupid…but tipping here is neccessary. They don’t pay waiters/baretnders/etc., enough in normal wages to survive. Tips are how they pay bills. I think this s**tting guy is hilarious!

              • oriol says:

yes, sure. sorry, i didn’t mean it is stupid in that sense. i’m sure they are necessary for those waiters and bartenders. what i meant is it’s stupid the way you make people pay 12$ as long as you get 12$. 10 plus a minimum tip of 2, 12 straight away with no tip needed, 0 plus a minimum tip of 12… at the end of the day, it would be the same if they told you to pay 12 instead of 10+2 and then the owner of the place included those extra 2 at the guy’s salary.
anyway, i just wanted to point out to the offended fellow that any custom may be considered somehow as a stupid thing.
glad you liked it (even though i didn’t do anything, when i was born the s**tter already existed)

          • Dragon says:

Never s**t on another’s traditions as yours may seem just as peculiar to others.

        • AntiChristmasHypster says:

          It’s wonderful !!! :D
          Y U NO EXPORT ABROAD !! :D

    • EazieCheeze says:

Just think of all the little children who have never seen poo before, and the parents who have to explain what it is.

  4. abelzinho says:

    Is this real?

  5. Tom says:

Hahaha, this is awesome. Pure WIN.

  6. doing your little sister up her butt says:

f.ucking stupid , stupid people , stupid country go eat that s.hit and die you losers

  7. Jawn! says:

    Mr Hanky has returned!

  8. Evan says:

    I sense another earthquake/tsunami going their way…

    • anonymiss says:

I can tell you’re a Christian. Because only Christians see an odd tradition they don’t understand and jump to death and destruction as the only solution.

      • Jesus_Marley says:

I can tell you’re a moron. Because only a moron would try to insult a person by assigning a specific religion to a complete stranger based on a single line of text.

      • Phoenix says:

Right, because no atheists in the world want to see Christianity abolished by violent means if necessary. Stalin, Mao, and Kim Jong Ill were such peace-loving tolerant fellows.

        Understanding is a three-edged sword.

        • An argument from religion that’s also a logical fallacy. How unusual.

Stalin, Mao and Kim Jong Ill did not base their tyranny on atheism, they based it on being tyrannical bastards who loved power.

That three edged sword – you’re not doing it right

  9. skeptic72 says:

Wtf. Whatever floats ur shat I suppose.

  10. skinner says:

    El caganer, me gustaaaaa :D

  11. McMosfet says:

    YES!! Catalonia!

    we rule!

  12. Jack Sargento says:

And the act is called, what else, “The Aristocrats!”

  13. friv 23 says:

oh my g , santa The Aristocrats .I think i like this santa

  14. Diana Prince says:

That’s Spain? The people all look Asian, to me.

  15. Roy says:

    Crappy Christmas?

  16. Sterdawg says:

This is like, doing El Caganer SO WRONG.
The fail is there because the guy doesn’t know what el caganer is, but it is also an el caganer fail. He’s supposed to be HIDDEN like a WHERE’S WALDO HUNT, not AN UNMISSABLE GIANT FREAKIN’ STATUE

    • Dragon says:

Maybe the point is that it is so out of scale that you’d miss it for what is was. Took me a look or two at the picture to figure out what is was, and then, since I am not from that area, read these notes to find out WHY on earth that would be a Christmas symbol. Some of the sites linked to say he is supposed to represent fertilization for crops and prosperity. He must be bringing a LOT of prosperity!

  17. frivgames says:

    whois make the santa?

  18. sunrise says:

its all about eating to much turkey

  19. caber says:

… “children who have never seen poo before”?

  20. NeilG says:

Which just goes to show that some people’s cultures are just plain f*cking stupid.

    • Dragon says:

Right, it’s much more rational to think a fat guy is gonna squeeze down every chimney in Christendom to fill socks with toys and candy. Or that some rabbit is bringing chicken eggs dipped in dye.

  21. pbcn says:

    actually, Catalonia, not Spain.

  22. james says:

I much prefer their other Christmas tradition, where a female (‘La Vomitona’) is projectile vomiting.

  23. Zonk says:

All I want to know is if the statue has a huge nutsack to go along with the steaming pile of poo…

  24. joe jim says:

All I want for christmas is some fiber!

  25. d b cooper says:

    YULE LOG

  26. jcarlo says:

I like to imagine he’s making a statement about the commercialization of Christmas.

  27. Andy says:

Wow. Guess I lost a bet with myself. First thought on seeing the picture, “This has GOT to be a German thing.”
