    rrrrepost…

    Next to that, photoshop..

    http://www.truthministry.org/index.cfm?PageID=68&FaqID=81&PageText=off&ReferringPage=1

It was funny the first time though

  2. mm says:

I think more like Photoshop fail…this one’s been posted before. People should quit reposting the same old Photoshopped stuff.

    • mm says:

If you Google, you can see they were mocking the original ‘Are you gay…’ message, which is a fail in itself. There are plenty of ex-gays out there, but you’ll never find an ex-Asian or ex-black, ect. It’s not the same thing.

      • Dash Vader says:

Can’t tell if subtle troll or strangely worded legitimate comment.

        • TastyCakes says:

There was a Church who ran billboards saying “Are you Gay and don’t want to be?” So a pro-gay group photoshopped the image to say “Asian” instead, and spread it all over the internet.

This was a long time ago.

      • delete says:

There aren’t any “ex-gays” out there…..Just people lying to themselves because they decided to believe some ancient retarded book.

        • Against Dave says:

You’re a dumb ass. If I were gay, I could one day say. Ya know, I dont think I like guy any more, and find my self attracted to women. Or is that only possible when it’s the other way around? You’re nothing but a douche bag Atheists, who all they seem to be able to wanna do is bash on someone because there belief is different. Oh by the way, im an atheist. I just hate most other atheists cause all we seem to do is yell “there trying to force there beliefs of us!” And then turn around an do the same. But with our lack of belief.

          • Ilana IllaRouge says:

Let’s all just have a good laugh.

          • Alan says:

everyone else sees you as the douchebag atheist in this conversation

          • kmmnderkoala says:

it is possible ti be an “ex gay”. its just very, very, very, very, rare, and i dont think literally being gay is at all what the bible was referring to as a sin. i think the bible meant gay sex, i say this because it bans just about every form of non reproductive sex.

          • MrPKitty says:

            *their*

          • yeahreally says:

That’s not stopping being gay, it’s being bisexual and having phases! The guy who “decide” that will still be attracted, once in a while, to man.

          • roobz says:

OH NO! Someone is wrong, on the internet!

          • Mere says:

So could you just one day decide to stop being heterosexual, then? Could you just one day say, “Ya know, I don’t think I like the opposite sex anymore, and find myself attracted to the same sex.” Does it work like that for you?

Because if so, I don’t think you’re as straight as you thought you were.

            • Confucius Say says:

              look up the Kinsey Scale.

Vast majority of people on this planet aren’t as straight or as gay as they’d like to think. Most are at least some degree of bi, usually with a strong preference.

          • Dave says:

            1) Simply pointing out that religion is retarded is not an attempt to “convert” someone to atheism. Unless, of course, you think that pointing out that mcdonalds tastes like crap is an attempt to convert someone to burger king.

2)I’m also fairly certain that you are far less of an atheist than you pretend to be on the internet.

            3) Anything else beyond that addressed in the previous two points is stupid and idiotic and doesn’t deserve further comment.

          • Hapqy says:

Can’t tell if troll or Godwin…

          • Matt says:

It’s not possible either way around. If you one day “decide” you like men and you are a man, you’ve likely always liked men and hadn’t acted on it before, perhaps you are bisexual. If you have always liked men and are a man, and never liked women, then you will never “decide” to like women and not men, though you can brainwash yourself into it quite easily.

          • hero says:

            *squinting fry*
            can’t tell if trolling….or just stupid…

          • MonocleCat says:

I actually don’t mind my lack of belief since I have the possibility to think rational and don’t need a god and his magic for things science can explain.
Yes, im an atheist and no, you aren’t one..

          • L says:

Not with every atheist. I am an atheist, but NEVER would I push my lack of belief on anyone. I let people believe what they want. I am also able to make friends with highly religious people, with whatever religion. It’s not like I’m going to church with them or something! Goodness, people. :/

        • Calling the Bible names is actually retarded (as in developmentally backwards). It isn’t the Bible that is the problem here, it is the idiots who want to interpret it to support their ideologies of hate and fear. Not all people who “believe” in the Bible are ignorant about homosexuality.

It is also erroneous to say there are no ex-gays out there. Biologically sexuality is actually better understood as a spectrum than a polarity. In which case people find themselves at a variety of places along the spectrum. And over the course of a life time these things actually can shift, often as we become more comfortable with who we are but it can also be effected by peer pressures and expected societal norms. For instance my lesbian friend who was previously identified as straight would not consider herself ex-straight, but that might be a way of naming the shift that she underwent in coming to grips with her sexuality.

          Just saying.

          • Confucius Say says:

An overlooked fact people want to stay buried, thanks for pointing it out.

sexual orientation isn’t decided at birth, it’s not something a person chooses, and it’s not permanently fixed for the rest of their lives.

Extremists on the right don’t want to admit it isn’t a choice, extremists on the left don’t want to admit it can change.

            • Matt says:

You are who you are. If you’re open to your sexuality changing, absolutely it can change, that just means you are already “open” though, not that you “changed” from being gay to straight or vice versa.

              • Confucius Say says:

That makes no sense. so you’re saying orientation is already decided and permanent, it’s just up to the individual to figure out what it is?

Given the exceedingly vast levels and tastes that define each persons “attractions”, even beyond the gay/straight/bi basics, there’s no grounds for thinking people are already set to certain orientation, especially years before they may even decide. It’s polarizing to claim that just because someone has developed an attraction for the same sex, or in several cases, an attraction to the opposite, that it somehow means they were ALWAYS that way. As I pointed out farther up, most people, admittedly or not, are at least somewhat bi with a preference, so if preference changes, than so does orientation in effect.

the human mind always changes in one form or another, it’s demeaning and in some cases, immoral(ease off, probably not what you’re thinking i mean) to suggest people are somehow locked into their orientation and nothing they do actually changes it.

                • Confucius Say says:

And just since I think someone is going to misinterpret this:

I don’t think anyone can change just by choice, but I don’t think it’s unchangeable either. given how many different factors science says can contribute and that they can’t get anything conclusive on what decides someones orientation, it’s hardly unthinkable.

          • yep says:

Frank, your words are the ONLY wise ones is this argument.

            • Judas says:

He said that mocking the bible is retarded. That’s so wise. o_O If you are talking about ‘developmentally backwards’ that’s a pretty good description of the bible since society and science have developed hugely since it was written.

              • Societal and scientific progress are actually irrelevant to my claim Judas.

Like it or not the Bible, at least in the West, has been a huge contributor to the conditions that have led to these changes. For every interpretation that has stood in the way of progress, there are one or more interpretations that have fostered progress. Usually the problem is when a religious text is forced into a socially normative role that it becomes a problem – but Social Darwinism is a good example of how any framework, when turned socially normative, can be destructive.

Mocking the Bible is simply ignorance. Understanding the influence socially and scientifically, good and bad, that the Bible has had on us is critical for progress. Mocking something just gets in the way of understanding. Therefore, mocking the Bible is retarded.

Now if you want to mock those who interpret the Bible to support injustice and cultural-status-quo – hmmm, then you might find yourself emulating Jesus. Just saying.

                • Judas says:

No, the bible is a fair target in itself. I hold the view that humour is an essential part of human communication and discussion, especially when applied to emotive or taboo subjects. Saying that mocking something is disallowed is the true barrier to understanding. I have no problem with people admiring some of the philosophy attributed to Jesus, i just think it’s harmful to society to hold any book or piece of dogma sacrosanct.

                • hero says:

You’re right, religion was there when humanity hadn’t figured out how to be intelligent yet. However, like everything, there is a bad side. Like most religions, people have been programmed to hold onto logical fallacies even after they have been demonstrated to be so. This is more of a failure in human nature, I suppose.

Long story short, a person doesn’t need religion to tell them what’s right starting the second they assume responsibility for using their own brain to figure it out.
If you must, use Kantianism as a stepping stone.

          • Dave says:

I disagree, the bible is retarded. It’s poorly written, is redundant, lacks character development, is redundant, contradicts itself, has poor story structure and is redundant. Honestly, if it wasn’t for idiots who use it to support their opinions, people would have thrown that long, boring, piece of sh1t in the trash a long time ago.

          • instantmusic says:

I never woulda been able to put that so succinctly, bravo.

        • Yes says:

This isn’t about book, it’s about learned behavior. And changing this is next to impossible.

      • Joe says:

Nonsense. I’m ex-Asian. For a long time I live the Asian lifestyle, until the Truth of Jesus was revealed to me. I accepted His Love and was Saved! I’ve been a good God-Fearing White Christian Man ever since – I will never be Asian again!

        • Amateur Ninja says:

ur name is joe. i rest my case.

          • Joe says:

Obviously you don’t know many Asians. My Asian friends have names like “Kent”, “Richard”, “Allan”, “Ben”, “Karen”, and “Ron”. Plus there’s the ones on TV called “Donatello”, “Leonardo”, “Michelangelo”, and “Raphael”. If you were really a Ninja, you would know this.

      • greeneggs says:

there’s no such thing as ex-gay’s. There only are people who hide who they really are and pretend to be something else because they are not accepted. Lots of those so called ‘ex-gay’s’ commit suicide after a while because they’re unhappy. It’s very unfair that people don’t get to experience real love in their life because some people are to stuck up to accept them as they are!

    • mm says:

PS and I wish this thing had a edit feature. No one claims the urges go away, but I think what it often is, is a choice to leave the lifestyle.

  3. Kitty says:

    I sure hope that’s a photoshop job.

  4. Mike says:

It is a photoshop, I can tell by the egg rolls.

  5. Basil says:

Looks photoshopped. I’ve seen plenty of shops in my time. The clue is that top line, which is too short. Note that there is a slight difference in the sharpness of ‘asian’ as compared with ‘are you’, and that the texture of the sign after ‘asian’ is different, as if something has been deleted (not to mention that ‘Asian’ should be have an initial capital, and the rest of the sign shows a correct use of capitals, making the idea that they goofed on ‘Asian’ highly unlikely, I’ve seen goofed signs, they usually have multiple errors, not just one huge one). That’s because it has. This is not a real picture, but, as has been pointed out above, something created by critics of the ministry in question (it’s a free country, they are free to say what they said, and the critics are free to criticise them) to make fun of them (which is not the best way to engage in debate), using the idea that homosexuality is the same as being Asian (a highly dubious claim if there ever was one, the man who first proposed a genetic cause for homosexuality was in favour of its elimination as a genetic disorder).

Though I would add as a disclaimer that I am opposed to genetic determinism on other grounds. That is, it makes people robots and eliminates free will. No genetic basis for homosexuality has yet been found, and if it was, it would not in and of itself make it either right or wrong (as the disorder hypothesis would hold). Science cannot answer questions of morality, that’s where philosophy comes in.

  6. patsowhoknows says:

Oh man, I’m feeling like a hipster. I’ve only been coming to this site for a year and that is the THIRD!!!!!!! time I’ve seen this one and each time people don’t realise it is a parody.

Do the mods here phone it in or what?

  7. Phaet says:

Reminds me of Michael Jackson used to be black but didn’t want to be so he converted to white and started hanging around kids.

  8. Foreigner1 says:

    Are you:
    - Gay?
    - Hispanic?
    - Pedosexual?
    - Asian?
    - Lesbian?
    - African?
    - Animal molester?
    or G** Forbid!!! – WASP?
    - Unsure?

    There’s Hope for change!

FAIL- Ministry – Because there is AlWAYS Hope for change…!

  9. MiniMega says:

how many dozens of times has this been reposted already? It was funny the first time but now it’s just old.

  10. Flyboy says:

This is a Fail fail… Whoever let this through really thought this was a legitimate sign rather than a parody?

    • Sally says:

When you honestly believe that all Christians are idiots, you fall for things like this more easily.

      • Joe says:

Well, not all, obviously. Some are crazy. Some are delusional. Some are ignorant. And the rest are idiots. As always, the world is too complex to classify with just a single generalization!

        • kmmnderkoala says:

          no, some are very intelligent.

          • Judas says:

True, there are christians who are intelligent. They are just not very wise.

            • Pablo says:

Just because someone has a different view on life than you doesn’t give you the right to say they aren’t wise. For your info many wise/intelligent people in the world were Christians, just as many were not, just as many others might have had other beliefs that differ from yours….It is because of ignorant people like you that embrace their beliefs in scorn of others that this world is such a crappy place

              • randomsequenceofletters says:

In general I would agree with you: just because someone has a different religion, non-religion, or world-view than yours you shouldn’t pre-judge them to be unwise. In fact, doing so means you’re an idiot.

However, religious dogma is, to a large extent, defined by the very belief that your faith is (and therefore you are) superior in wisdom than the rest of humanity, including all science, all philosophies of life, and every other religion as well. I generally abstain from doing so, but this turns it into fair game for being poked fun at for its contradictions and lack of wisdom – glass roofs and all that.

                • Confucius Say says:

all true, but one doesn’t need religion to have dogma, it’s human nature to assume your views are superior to those you think less of. religion is just one of many excuses in that regard.

              • Judas says:

OK. First up- i have the right to say whatever the hell i like about anyone because i live in a free country. If i see someone stroll across a busy highway with their eyes shut, i can say ‘that person is unwise’. You don’t need to say anything ‘for my info’ because i am not ignorant- that’s why i’m not religious. If i thought that a huge number of people being wrong before they had access to information made something true then in fact i would be ignorant like you. And finally in view of all these things scorn would seem to be justified, and a lot less offensive than telling you that you will burn in eternal torment for not ‘having faith’ in the same ancient fairy tale that you believe in. Religion has made this world a crappy place for thousands of years, not the people who look beyond it and want to be nice to others without any afterlife reward.
TL;DR- I disagree, you are wrong.

                • Judas says:

*Howls of outrage from butthurt christians in 3…2…1…*

                  • Kale says:

Fail troll is idiot. Just because one is christian doesn’t mean that they will be butthurt from this photoshoped fail. Oh, btw, gay AND christian here. It is possible to be both! Gasp! Let that hurt your head for a while

                    • Chicken says:

Is alright, you’re in good company^^

                    • braininthejar says:

I don’t think it is. The bible clearly demands that you be stoned to death.

                    • Glass says:

How does it feel to know that the God you worship hates you and wants you to die?

                    • Jeremiah K Garrett says:

You didn’t know gay people were going to Hell? Come on, loving someone has to be a greater offense than, say murders and thieves. That’s why true Christians hate gay people, because we have to fulfill the greatest commandment to love God and love others (who are just like us). Obviously this doesn’t include Asians and gay people.

                    • Judas says:

First i wasn’t talking about the OP, rather my own trolly comments. Secondly why do you think for a second that i would have any problem with the concept of gay christians? I just hope you are glad that i’m above making a cheap gag about gay christians and butthurt christians.

                  • instantmusic says:

I think you got in a little slow on that. Some of the hotter threads have been burnin’ for a good while.

              • Judas says:

I have the right to say anything, it’s my opinion. If i see someone strolling across a freeway with their eyes shut it’s my right to say ‘i consider that unwise’. In the past people who were intelligent had less access to information and were compelled to some extent by society to be religious. It’s because i’m not ignorant that i’m not religious, and scorn for the beliefs of others is the basis of religious behaviour. I am not telling you that you will burn in eternal torment for disagreeing with me.

                • Judas says:

Apologies for repost, the original was moderated for so long i thought it had been deleted.

                • Imgran says:

Actually you don’t have the right to say anything that’s your opinion. Applied against a minority, such as the topically-significant homosexual community, the vitriol you’re spewing against Christianity would be viewed as hate speech, and get you in a certain amount of trouble.

People misunderstand their First Amendment rights. Not only do they not apply to privately-owned sites like this one (the First Amendment is a federal provision that affects only laws, not commercial practice) but there are several very sharp restrictions on your ability to hurt people with your words.

                  • Judas says:

What an idiot you are. If i were stating a dislike of any group on the basis of something like race or gender which they have no choice about then that would be wrong. The fact is that you can choose your own religion (or lack of) in the same way you can choose what car to buy, and if i say that i think people who buy Fords are unwise that’s simply an opinion and not a hate crime against Fords. If someone chooses to be offended by my attitude to christianity then perhaps they should consider whether i should be offended by being told that i’m a sinner who will burn in torment for all eternity because i don’t agree with them.

                  • nacoran says:

Libel and slander and fighting words and shouting fire in a crowded theater. Those aren’t particularly sharp restrictions on free speech. Most things that could be stated as fact are usually taken as opinion and therefor protected. For instance, if I call someone an idiot, it’s taken to be opinion and therefor protected speech. If I was a prominent researcher in the field of intelligence and I called someone an idiot and they wanted to sue me over it they would first have to prove that the statement wasn’t true, and then, depending on whether they are ‘public figure’ or a private citizen they would have to address the issue of malice. (A private citizen would just have to prove they weren’t an idiot. A public figure would have to prove I called them an idiot with malice.)

We are free to call each other’s belief stupid or unwise. Other people are free to defend their beliefs.

I would at least point out though that religion and science very basically in epistemology. People believe religion on faith. People believe science because of reason. You cannot defend any unprovable point with reason, so defending religion with reason is a lost cause. The problem is many religious people feel compelled to base their beliefs on reason, so they contort reason to meet their needs. Reason contorted is not reason at all.

The Bible is, at it’s root, a collection of stories. There were many stories that were considered to be included, but the religious leaders at the time decided what would be included. That was a very political act, based on the needs and sensibilities of the time. The basic core of the Bible has remained the same for many centuries, but different stories have come into and gone out of favor. Some Christian sects have elevated sections of the Bible that encourage tolerance. Others encourage exclusivity. Some people just contort the Bible to mean what they want it to mean. The Bible, and the other religious stories that weren’t included are just stories with various degrees of truth in them, written down with men with different agendas. They often contradict each other.

How we decide morality from them is no different than how we find morality from any other narrative, from Twighlight to Aesop’s Fables. Find any core belief and you can justify it with any story. That said, let’s use the Bible (and anything else we can get) to justify a free society where you can do what you want as long as you aren’t hurting other people. Arguing over which interpretation of a story is right is just a contortion of reason. Morality should be a human trait, separate from religion. If you want religion after that, well, then that’s your business.

          • Joe says:

Well yeah, the crazy ones can be very intelligent. I already talked about that.

            • Confucius Say says:

people like you are why the extremists screaming about the world being out to get them are never going to be completely wrong.

              • Joe says:

Well, sure, the scientologists think that psychiatrists are out to get them. They’re still wrong, though. We’re trying to HELP them.

I can see why you’d be confused, though. Glad I could clear things up!

                • Confucius Say says:

and the truth ministry is trying to help gays, so they claim.

                  anyway, done feeding the troll.

                  • Joe says:

You think people are born theistic?

Hrm. That’s an interesting argument. Got any evidence to support it?

Or are you simply arguing that people are born crazy, and we shouldn’t try to help them become normal? If that’s the case, I’m afraid I’ll have to disagree. There’s a big difference between curing a mental condition which causes you to have invisible friends even after you’re an adult, and attempting to “cure” a sexual preference. I suppose both could probably be achieved if we develop the right medication … but the former is far more debilitating and damaging to the species than the latter.

          • Hapqy says:

“Hey, I may be crazy but I’m not stupid!”

      • Judas says:

Let’s face it though, the original sign was just as ridiculous as the racial parody. There’s nothing to fall for since the sign was changed to illustrate how ridiculous it is to try changing a person’s (god-given according to christians) nature. The fact that you think it’s only ridiculous when it’s race and not when it’s sexual alignment just shows that at least some christians are total idiots.

      • Alverant says:

12 years ago I saw a sign in Dubuque, IA reminding people that epileptic seizures were not demon possession. If a sign like that is necessary, it’s easy to accept the fact that there are enough chrisitian idiots who think you can change your sexuality.

        • Confucius Say says:

Reasonable to assume all Christians are that idiotic because some are?

Pretty sure that way of thinking is about as dumb, in fact pretty sure it led to more atrocities.

          • CheezburgerFanatic says:

Alverant just said there were Christian idiots out there, not that all Christians are idiots.

Would you like me to teach you how to read properly?

      • Hapqy says:

I think the fact that people keep falling for these things is precisely because there are Christians this idiotic. It’s called Poe’s Law, and and although it could apply to any parody of extremism, it most often applies to religious parodies, because religious extremists tend to be the weirdest (it’s hard to be the L. Ron Hubbard of fiscal policy).

do they help with yellowish skin, epicanthic folds, communist ideologies, and strict parenting styles?

  12. whatthemeh says:

Photoshop or not, there is actually a fair point. Saying you can become not gay through jesus is sumular to saying you can become not gay.

  13. dws689 says:

You’re right, people do not change behaviors. People who hate gays are never going to stop hating gays, because evolution has programmed people to hate gays. It reduces the fertility of the population, so gay-hating is intrinsic to the human race and cannot be changed by behavior modification. So, yes, you are programmed by your genes to be gay and 99% of the population is programmed to hate you, and none of us will ever change.

    Boring photoshopped reposted fail.

    This site is dying.

Truth Ministry? Like in the Ministry of Truth?

You guys need to stop arguing. Being Asian is a serious issue, and it’s growing rapidly!

  17. weeaboo says:

What about those of us who are not Asian but would like to be? KAWAII DESU NE!!!

  18. David says:

This is photoshopped from an original billboard that was offering people who want to know more about there homosexuality and if there is an alternative. Truth Ministry is simply an orginization that offers people support and counciling if they desire a change. The founder himself lived a Gay lifestyle for many years and has helped countless numbers of people who seek him and his organization out. He is a kind and careing person who has nothing bad to say about anyone, whether they are living a gay lifestyle or want a way out. I wish people would actually read through his website before attacking him and his ministry. The hundreds of hateful and foully worded emails they receive every month is just beyond me. He only wants to help people who want help and seek him out. If not, he will only have a kind word for anyone.

    • Basil says:

As one who actually read the website, I concur. This ministry seems to be going out of its way to be polite. But there are abusive nincompoops on both sides.

      • tyberius says:

I find their attitude quite hypocritical.

Sure, they don’t appear to be judging – they just leave the judgment to everyone else.

The thing is, there is nothing wrong with being gay. There is all kinds of wrong with social attitudes towards gay people though, and that’s where I think some gay people’s desire to “not be gay” stems from.
So I don’t think “helping” people to cave in to social pressure and delude themselves into “fitting in” is any kind of solution – in fact, telling people that they can just change their sexual orientation contributes to the problem.

That’s what I think this photoshop is trying to point out. I bet you could find people in the US who don’t want to be Asian, or don’t want to be black. Still, if you want to help them, you should try to help them accept themselves and/or help to change social attitudes, not tell people they could “change” things that, according to science, can’t be changed at will.

Hints for recognising photoshops for the attention of FailBlog:
    1. Odd arrangement of words in a line (the first line is suspiciously short)
    2. some letters sharper than others without obvious reasons (the word ‘asian’)
    3. One glaring difference in the use of capital letters (capitals are used correctly in all words apart from ‘Asian’, which should have an initial capital)
    4. Difference of texture on the suspicious line (where the rest of the first line has been deleted)
    5. Public billboard that makes no sense (I mean, honestly, even the Mormons don’t think that Native Americans can become white by becoming Mormon any more)

One or two of these are possible in a real sign (I’ve seen some hilarious ones), but three or more give reason to think it’s been photoshopped.

And finally, if a sign has a web address on it, check the site, that will hopefully have the answer on it.

  20. Fat guy Aaron says:

it’s not that they don’t want to be Asian, they just want to be better drivers with lower insurance. The post under this will be in all capital letters and call me a racist “way over used these days” but will not be able to prove me wrong.

  21. instantmusic says:

Repost, and OP fail too for not understanding the point of the billboard.

  22. Hurhur says:

The original makes about as much sense as this (for those who haven’t seen it already). http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Hxe2XaMP2Hg/Sb6OBpYEzhI/AAAAAAAAAlI/EtKaRQKVCTA/s400/homophobicbillboard.jpg

    I really hate fake fails.

  24. Jeremiah K Garrett says:

What is this supposed to be? Obviously Asian was not intentional, or else the A would be capitalized. I can’t tell if it’s a typo or a hidden letter/fragment, and I can’t figure out what it is supposed to be. At first I thought it was photoshopped, but then I realized all the blur marks on the picture appear to be from a dirty windshield.

  25. braininthejar says:

Based on the discussion so far, I think it should be split:
    WIN: for whoever shopped it.
FAIL: for whoever chose the name for the organization ( I too thought of Orwell first)

  26. Jim says:

No matter how many times this one is re-posted, it’s still Fake.

  27. silentevil77 says:

Bhahah oh you Photoshop trolls You guys kill me *wipes away tear*

  28. ketchup says:

It reminds me of how some Europeans used to think at one point in history that christening coloured people would make them turn white.

  29. james says:

Oh god I live in this town, although I have never seen this billboard.
