  1. Not such a fail. It looks like the plumbing has been disconnected.

  2. VanillaRain says:

But I really want to pote that water!

  3. zoletil says:

Probably Engrish, eau non potable is a very common way in french to tell people you can use the water to wash your face and hands, but not to drink.

  4. Sneza says:

Ha! That’s my old school — I recognize this whole scene. It’s from about two years ago… they had to replace some old plumbing in an old building. It’s a university, so, yes, they did understand the word “non-potable.” lol

  5. Goatvomit says:

The University of Washington had these signs up for ages on a bunch of water fountains. The story goes that, during remodeling, lazy contractors hooked the water fountains up to the wrong plumbing system, and just couldn’t bother fixing it. So they put up signs instead.

  6. ManBroDude says:

If you really look at it, it looks like it’s winking at you

  7. raelalt says:

    I find that disturbingly exciting.

  8. xenu says:

this happens whenever plumbing or construction happens it isnt a fail…
i worked on the san antonio military medical center during its construction and could have taken this picture over 100s of things… including the toilets

  9. Merri says:

Is there anything wrong with placing water fountains to allow people to wash their hands ?

And in that case isn’t it possible that the water isn’t suitable for drinking ?
I can even envision situations or places where you would be frowned upon (or worse) if you drank at the water source, e.g. after a Jewish burial.

So, what on Earth (and water) is constitutive of the Fail ??

    • M.U. says:

Because, it’s a Drinking Fountain for hand-washing and other such purposes, they make a fixture known as a “sink”. It looks totally different.

  10. Quitter says:

Back in middle school our fountains had lead in the water, so we couldn’t drink from them. Had a teacher though who drank from them all the time and he reasoned that if a nuke went off nearby he’d be safe because of all the lead in his body. I r thunkin dat ejukachun wuz’nt gud.

  11. Baccar Wozat says:

    Brawndo! The Thirst Mutilator!
