» 53 Failures in Communication

  1. Mee says:

    Above second!

  2. Sherri says:

This is how you park in some of the parking garages in D.C. Everyone is pretty much parked in and the attendants move the cars outta the way if someone needs to get out. It fits more cars that way!

  3. bp says:

    Win not fail :/

  4. Jeremy says:

its still stupid, since when you car gets stolen the insurance wont pay anything. another solution to that problem, put the car into neutral so it can be pushed away. in france they do that on every parkinspot. instead of pushing it with hand they do it with cars, bumper to bumper

    • different chris says:

But to be fair, those are French cars. If a Peugeot or Renault gets a hole ripped in it by a bollard or five it’s not really much of a loss. If somebody did that to my Fiat Panda though, it would be a serious crime.

(Because it would take days to clean up the pile of rust.)

  5. Lexoid says:

    i would leave my keys…and door….
    what?

  6. Sigfried says:

    I paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64-GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $645 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, {T a g C e n t} . {c o m}

    • Phake says:

Go the f**k away with your spam

      • AllGayAllTheTime says:

        nah dawg, it’s real yo. I paid $1.87 for an iPhone 5GS 128GB and my dog loves her new HD collar-cam that we got for $1.74 they arrived by UPS. I also will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch black “martial aid” to my boss for $65 which only cost me $6 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, {Y o D a w g} . {c o m}

  7. KD says:

For those of you saying this is acceptable, why not just leave the keys with the attendant instead of leaving the car open. Wouldn’t that be safer?

    • bob says:

There may not be an attendant.

    • Cali Martin says:

This sign is in parking garages, where a slip is needed to get out. Someone has to have a slip to get in or out. Obviously you could “upgrade” however doing so makes it obvivous when you’re car is left behind with license plate.

Also side note, if you go a parking garage, don’t leave the slip in the dashboard. It’s the most idiotic thing to do, as someone can just break in, use the slip to get out. Without the slip, it’s a little more difficult (usually requiring ID + fee + license plate being written down).

      • Bob says:

        You’re?

        • Cali Martin says:

auto correct + typing on a blackberry is not fun. “your car” not “you’re car”

          • AllGayAllTheTime says:

don’t blame the blackberry bro. You know perfectly well that you can edit what you write so don’t give us this “wah wah, but it was my BLACKBERRY ok” h0rsesh1t.

We’re sick of you whining about your first-world BS problems and blaming you’re stupidity on everyone and everything but yourself.

Own the problem, bro. Don’t you effing DARE blame the blackberry.

            • Cali Martin says:

Have you used a BlackBerry? There’s a reason RIM is going down, worst user interface of all time. Bloody thing jumps all crazy trying to simply go back a line. Some idiot designed it with a trackball and a 1 1/2″ screen. Who ever thought that was a good idea? Only idiots would design that. It’s unusable by everyone except midgets and severally near-sighted people.

  8. bob says:

This is actually very typical in Okinawa. It blew me away when I saw my friend get in the car that was blocking hers, move it out of the way and get back in her own to drive off. Hard to steal a car and get away with it on such a small island I suppose.

  9. nobodeenoes says:

    Failer fail, sarcasm WIN.

  10. damiano says:

Lol this is actually very common practice and cars are not getting stolen

  11. Christina says:

ok so your car may not get stolen but do you really trust some stranger to drive your car out of a parking spot without causing it some damage? What if they back it right into a pole or someone else’s car and leave you with the repercussions. I would feel really uncomfortable with this practice and would probably just park somewhere else…

  12. Jess says:

I’ve seen this happen in ambulance stations – the cars belonging to the paramedics might block in the ambulances, as there is limited space, so leaving it like this helps

  13. gurtol says:

    WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN

  14. cthulu says:

I don’t see the fail here. There are plenty of situations in which it would be reasonable to leave the keys in the car so that someone could move it. For example, maybe this sign is in a parking garage where only the valets move the cars, so this sign is just a reminder to the valets.

If this were a wider-angle shot revealing the sign to be in an unattended open-air parking lot in the South Bronx, then I’d agree that it’s a big fail.

  15. Matt says:

More like “not blocking other people in” win.

  16. doonie666 says:

    Sarcasm WIN!

  17. + _JOSEPH_ + says:

Is there anyone that stupid to actually follow the directions of this sign…?

  18. Shannon says:

How is this a fail? Sarcasm win!

  19. Luke says:

There is a heap of this in carparks in South East Asia also, Thailand, Vietnam etc all have signs like this, Basically if you cant get a legitimate spot, you park someone in and either leave the car in netural with the doors open, or leave the keys. Mind you they also have a culture of not stealing (unless you count charging foreginers 10x the price for stuff), so its a lot safer than doing it in our “civilised” countries

  20. mike says:

I find it funny how some people from “civilized countries” (as someone previously said) can’t concieve this being real :)

  21. Cory says:

    Seems legit.

  22. michael says:

well anyone who deliberately blocks other cars kinda deserves it

  23. clay says:

    Their obviously NOT in Detroit.

  24. mookalovesgloop! says:

    how bout…………((no?))

  25. FormerValet says:

When I was working as a valet, we had signs like this posted for the other valets that were a little less than able to use common sense. If anything, the fail here is the lack of context that allows idiots to make jokes.

  26. MrOpinion says:

If the sign was in French then it would have been normal – well back in the 60′s
to park you pulled up at the back of the line & pushed bumper to bumper till you had enough room – cars were not locked and keys were frequently left if vehicle had the chance of blocking something unintentionally

————- but I suspect that changed in the last 4 decades

  27. Very nice post. I simply stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to mention that I have truly enjoyed browsing your blog posts. In any case I will be subscribing to your feed and I am hoping you write once more soon!
