Support Beam FAIL

Incorrect source or offensive?

» 34 Failures in Communication

    • doobidoobidoo says:

seems like it did its job anyway

      • Frank says:

there’s definitely a bounce up — but i can’t tell if the flier actually strikes the ground thru the net on that first impact. Also, that pole gets pulled down, and does it hit the person?

Stupid cowboy hats. You’re in the way!

  1. offended says:

I hope he suffers from severe injuries, that would make it even funnier :/

  2. bluenose says:

    Did he died?

  3. Drake says:

Support Cable fail (and column), not beam….

  4. feralcat says:

Beam Fail, that is a post…

  5. Snowman25 says:

I think he hit the ground…
He twitches like a fish out of the water

  6. barth says:

Hmmm looks like I have time for some mini doughnuts on the way to work.
I don’t think an extra pound or two will hurt me.

  7. NaomiD says:

    OMG was they ok?

    • BoKu says:

No, that was a different event; in that one the net collapsed before the guy hit it.

    • I don’t think this is the same incident. A witness in that article said that the net collapsed before the stuntman hit it; in this video, the net clearly collapses as a result of catching the stuntman.

Also, as another commenter has noted, it doesn’t look like the performer in this video hits the ground before most of his downward velocity is stopped.

  8. Ajax says:

Nah, he was OK minor injuries only.

  9. Wyldesoul says:

Funny, I didn’t know that Failblog was a snuff site.

    Stay classy, internets.

(Yes, that does mean he died)

  10. Bob says:

    Calgary Stampede 2011

  11. Korinth says:

Yeah, he survived, and did another show later that day. It just looks painful, and I’m sure it was.

  12. J says:

Looked like he was probably alright. As you can see in the slow-mo, it at least bounced him UPWARD before the support failed. So, it cushioned most of his landing. It was just a regular fall after that, since the net was no longer there.

  13. JulezRulez says:

    3..2..1.. Oooohh AAHHHHHH!
    *boingidy boing boingoi oioingoinogunougnioinggg….*

  14. :V says:

    Totally pro! – Christian Bale

  15. Mr. Noeital says:

For future reference: A BEAM is horizontal and a post (the thing in this video) is vertical and a person who shoots himself out of a cannon is an idiot especially when whoever put the post up did a really $hitty job.

  16. giantspbpk says:

Umm…those are columns, not beams. Well, actually, with that loading, they are technically beam-columns. Beams only have flexural loading, columns, axial, beam-coluumns both.

You’re welcome – your local civil engineer :-D

  17. Roscoe says:

Oh, dear. Where will they ever find another man of the same calibre?

  18. Weh says:

Notice how nobody moves at all to go help him. America, baby
