First thought is normal one: paintings usually have dates and some other data at the back.
Took me time to understand that people think of looking at the front side of her chest.
Wasn’t obvious to me cause the “beautiful” painting looked like a guy or a transy

Oh, a fav city of mine! Esp when they thought I was just a dymb American (by the way I tried to say “Allo”) but didn’t know I could understand their French perfectly. At the time they really hated Americansl. Do they still?

Allo was a good way to break ice, I’m sure a lot of people would enjoy hearing somebody try out their language

Back sides of more significant paintings usually also have authenticity confirmation stamps, reproductions have serial numbers and number of copies…
Not necessary Pacifix. Some of the old paintings are microchip in the edge of the canvas/frame now.
