He didn’t miss the race start. You can tell that by looking at his position at the very beginning of the video. He is on his knees, so I suppose he was actually running the front line when he fell, or got tired, or something like that.
He actually did miss the race start, the other racers were in the starting position, he just wasn’t ready and stayed on his knees instead of getting into the starting position when he should have. He probably wasn’t paying attention to anything around him. That’s a fail!
