I loled. But then I got the part about the XBox and laughed harder, as I turned on my PS3 and played on the internet for free.
It ironic, reading this after my third Xbox 360 overheated/died. Needless to say, I have a PS3 now.

Let’s make that clear: PC gaming is in no way better than console gaming. They are different. PCs are better at FPS and RTS, while consoles are better for games like Assassin’s Creed for example.

technically these days all consoles are severely restricted pc. PC gaming is dead and yet it is alive because of this fact. The truth is the hackers who, well, hack consoles, are just unlocking their full pc capabilities and instead of the companies being twits an punishing those who do this, they need to take advantage of these capabilities and use the features as a selling point…..did i just try to make logic on failblog?
microsoft is doing this with the kinect do you not know anything? at first they didnt want people to hack it but once they saw all the amazing possibilities that the kinect has they are selling a fully open and ready to “hack” kinect no idea when but i know they are.

I disagree, I like playing games like Assassin’s Creed in my pc. I find IMHO that pc gaming trumps console gaming in all aspects.
You obviously don’t have friends, because then you’d appreciate the split-screening aspect of console games…
me and my friends play over a LAN….
also, if I choose, I can use a controller (or several and use one OR MORE screens), joystick, mouse+keyboard, etc.
I can hook my comp up to a high-def tv, I can also remote desktop it and play on a tablet or smartphone.
Consoles are simply dumbed down PCs with far less ability.
The Wii, for as crappy as it is, is the only real console left.

Most games nowadays don’t have split screen because of resolution problems. You still playing PS2 or some s**t. Gee-zus!
Yes, PC is better for 1st person shooters and real-time strategies. And for power. And customization, controls, variety of games, and the ability to do things other than playing games (like surf teh internets). It’s also one of the best platforms for indie developers (Minecraft would NEVER have happened on the 360, PS3 or Wii).
Consoles are ONLY better at ease of use; I never had to wonder whether my 360 would boot up or not (until it RROD’d)
“controls” … About that. In the kind of game where a mouse would be useful or where you need to have a buttload of buttons the PC is better, but with pretty much ANY other type of game, especially one where an analog stick would be insanely helpful, a console has better controls. (Aside from not having to worry about whether a console will boot up, you also don’t have to worry about whether your computer can handle the latest new game) Don’t get me wrong the PC is better in most ways, but that’s no reason to lie.
You do know that you can connect pretty much any type of controller to a PC right? joysticks, control pads, driving wheels, etc.
So no. You can have a better experience on the PC, its just a hell of a lot more expensive over the years.
Except for the fact that joypad configuration in PC games often falls somewhere between inadequate and non-existent, even if you have the luxury of wasting your time using an external utility or driver to key map everything. That’s consistently been my gripe with PC gaming for years. The reason it’s not as big an issue to most consumers is that PC gaming is still a wholly separate entity, and the console/PC overlap hasn’t grown a whole lot over the years.
If “it’s broken out of the box” or “it’ll take me twenty minutes just to get everything configured and start a game” is your idea of a better experience, I’ll stick to playing console games on consoles.
Maybe a while ago, today’s joypads and controllers are made to be supported by all types of games, and vice versa. I just bought a logitech controller, i plugged the wireless adapter into my pc, put in the Racedriver: Grid disc, and i was playing; I didn;t even need to change any settings or install drivers. And there is a whole load more stuff you can do with a PC with a good video card; play games in 3D, use up to 5 monitors lined up next to eachother (rotated tall-wise, of course), better frames-per-second, more customization with the games AND the computer itself, and less overheating because you can add more fans in. The ONLY downside would be that it costs more, or you are a total noob and cant work a computer.

Wow talk about a coincidence. I had a PS1 and PS2 growing up but for some reason decided to buy an Xbox 360 instead of a PS3 (probably prices at the time of release, I don’t know)… Anyway, big mistake. Mine has also broken down 3 times over 4 years, cost me a lot of money out of pocket for repairs (always went right after warranty went out). I take good care of my stuff too, crappy hardware and construction. Don’t get me wrong it’s fun while it works but it loves to break down, and paying the price of a new game every year just to play the games I already bought online is dumb. Even if I only play 2-3 hours online a week I’m still expected to fork over $50. Isn’t supporting such a crappy console enough already? What with buying games and repairs and replacing crappy controllers (yes they also spontaneously stop working).
I sold my 360 this last weekend and ordered a PS3 from Amazon, waiting for it to get here now. Can’t wait for the new Mortal Kombat game. Will also get to play the PS3 exclusives I missed before. Best part is my PS1 that I’ve had for 11 years and many house moves still works great and it was abused when I was a kid, never had to send it for repairs. Same for my PS2. Sony ftw.
I apologize for the rant. Again, not hating on people who play on 360 (I did for years), just saying, Microsoft really screwed the pooch on that console.

I raise my glass to you. I just hope that the console wars end sometime soon. I use almost all the consoles of this gen and I have a pc. I love all of them. If I had the money I would probably buy a ps3 but as a high school student I cannot really afford it. I have only bought my 360 and the DS. The PC was a gift and the Wii is my Aunts (she has never taken it home after we had it here for a while.
But yea all are equally great and have advantages and disadvantages.

Next steps: Play xbox 360 for 20 minutes, get red ring of death, then repeat all previous steps substituting Microsoft for Sony. At the end you will be given a new PS3 to make up for the fact that your xbox blew itself out … and the cycle begins anew.

Jeez. Debating over console or PC is just as heated as debates over religion and politics. Its rather sad. Just play what you like and have fun. I for one am happy with consoles because I don’t spend ridiculous amounts on buying a PC that can handle games these days and then having to upgrade every 6 months or so. But I still have fun on PC when I get a chance to play on them.
build your own pc, pay 1000, pay games 5-20$ on steam (or 0 depending on which side of the force you are). Get a console (350$), pay them 80ea. my PC can run Crysis 2 at highest settings 1900×1080 and was built last year. I will definitively be able to keep playing for a while.
Plus PCs are meant to be upgraded. Games running on too low a setting? Get a new graphics card, pop that sucker in there, install the driver, ???, profit.
In other words all you who freak out about which console is better, PCs > any console.
Not to mention that companies don’t really push the hardware capabilities of PC’s anymore. Just about any computer from three or four years ago can run the newest games on full settings.

yea because xboxes never overheat.. are you stupid? everybody i’ve known with an xbox 360 has had to get at least 2 of them due to overheating. my ps3 has lasted me for 4 years with not a single problem after leaving it on for a week straight multiple times.
mine as well…almost 5 years now, and i upgraded the HD to one that actually runs hotter and my system is in a cabinet…i dare my ps3 to overheat…i dare it!!!!!!

my ps3 died like 8 times because of ylod and everytime I would fix it, it would last only a week…….. BUT even though that happened I would still choose a ps3 over a 360 any day.

the first versions of PS3 over heated to the point of flames.
just saying but ive left my ps3 on for 3 DAYS and it didnt overheat, but my brothers xbox overheated all the time. also, xbox has the red ring of death as well, making it the worse choice as far as malfunctions.

I have had several diffrent 360s which overheated, red ringed, just generally sucked. The last one red ringed and microsoft sent it back to me with a broken disk tray.
I have two ps3s and the both work perfectly since the day i bought them.

I kinda wanna punch this “L”-guy in his face for claiming that Xbox 360 is better than PS3. I have both and the only thing “better” with 360 is the controller (that’s just me though, some1 preferring the PS3 controller wouldn’t have anything good to say about 360)

Since I already had a Xbox and a PS3 I combined the two with a cable and ran games simultaneously while cooking cheese sandwiches on them both, what happened next shocked me beyond my wildest dreams. A small black hole emerged from the midst of the smoke and a extra large Wii Popped out and destroyed the other two systems. The Wii went on to explain that it was from the future and in the year 2012 Nintendo creates a Super Wii that is capable of AI, this System then takes over the Market and destroys the gaming world as we know it. the Super Wii was just about to smash my brains in with it’s Laser Nunchaku, and that is when I woke up… Stupid NyQuil Dreams!!!!
Then they will laugh cause they were joking(because the xbox sucks) and tell you to clean the vents like you would FOR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC!! I hate idiots…
Then proceed to spend the equivalent of the original price of the XBox 360 on all the little extras that come standard in the PS3 thus making the original (lower price) reason for buying the 360 a total sham. All while realizing that even with all the extras the 360 still doesn’t have blueray and therefore some games require 2 disks and massive online downloads in order to get all the game info into the console.
Clearly, as an owner of an Xbox 360 and a PS3, i know that the PS3 has way more overheating problems than the Xbox. Unfortunately the Xbox still does overheat if you guys who play it are stupid and leave it on for 20+ hours. A PS3 will start to overheat after around 5 hours. Xbox has more gaming nerds that play too much compared to PS3. That is the reason for the contrary belief. If there are any questions, I may decide to answer them, but until then, peace out. Xbros FTW.
