The real fail in this text is the implied sexism. Why did the father name the baby? What about the mother?
Maybe the it was the fathers idea, and the mother agreed. Maybe the mother left him for some reason. Maybe they live by certain rules that makes naming the mans job… Who knows
Or it could be a cultural thing. Doesn’t have to be sexist, it’s just in some cultures, the father is the head of the family and makes the ultimate decisions at times.
Excuse me, BooMBooM. What the HELL do you think sexism is? Maybe look it up because you just accidentally defined what it is as what it’s not.
To those cultures it is not sexism, it is normal. It is only sexism in the West. Who are we to press our culture on them? If that is how they want to live, then we should let them live that way.

Or maybe the wife had to stay at home and rest after having given birth for the previous 30 hours… Meanwhile, the father has gone to authorities to declare the child. As a result, “he” named the newly born child, like it happens very often in many places in the world (or except in the US?)
Um, I’d say in most places that both parents have input on naming the child, not just the U.S.

These guys are trying to revolutionise their country for the better, so I don’t think racism is going to help. It wasn’t so many centuries that most of europe was just as violent and predjudiced. Change happens gradually, and these guys are taking the first step. So lets not piss them off and go back to square one.

yes, it’s called a few thousand years of history, when people live the same way now that they did a thousand years ago, it’s pretty safe to say they will continue to.
the family is full of social network names. Her brothers name is instant messenger, she got a second cousin named myspace and a uncle named Oregon trail. Floppy Disc is no longer a part of the family as he has become obsolete.
Unfortunately, her cousin Myspace died shortly after the birth of Facebook.

I must say, I’m rather dissapointed in everyone thus far. About three dozen comments and not ONE mentioned his suggestion of her shortening her name to FB (f*ck Buddy). You all are fail.
