  1. cee_ker says:

..if you’re gonna do it, do it right..or, uh, waaay-wrong-!..

  2. blackguy says:

    “I love beer!…….hic….burp.”

  3. some people just never learn
just hope he doesn’t hurt anyone

    • Pax says:

He clearly has a problem, so they’ll arrest him four times, charge him god knows how much, and no one will actually help him.

      • Jibble says:

Unfortunately there are some who are beyond help. They would rather die than not drink or do drugs. I’ve known them. This guy runs clearly with that pack.

        • JJtoob says:

Well, I guess he has to run with that pack since they (hopefully) took his car away.

        • Centrifugal_Aardvark says:

“They would rather die than not drink or do drugs.” I’m not sure that’s so. They would probably rather not have whatever compulsion they have, and that may also mean that they’d rather not have a brain that is screaming at them “do this” or “don’t do that” or whatever is underlying their problem.

Pax (one post above yours) said it well: they’ll punish the guy repeatedly but never give him the help he needs. The problem, of course, is determining what kind of assistance WOULD help such a fellow. I’ve kicked a couple of addictions in my lifetime and I’ve known others who have done the same. As far as I know there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.

Personally, I think the problem goes to the very root of what it means to live in civilized society. So I’m not expecting a cure any day soon.

          /soapbox

          • Jimmylou says:

There is one cure: get rid of Alcohol, Nicotine, LSD and all those chemical stuff.
It’s either rotten, posioned or wasted anyways.

      • Bad Moon says:

Some people just don’t wanna help themselves. Over here (UK) some trout keeps getting drunk, causing trouble and getting nicked. She’s been to court countless times and just spent five months in a court enforced rehab. And the first thing she did? Went out, got drunk and is now back in court being served another Anti Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) and being forced back into rehab for probably another five month stint….Silly tart.

  4. TT says:

That’s a great picture. I’d love to look like a serial killer in my mug shot.

  5. Rehcsif says:

It sounds like he was stopped for driving with a suspended license, not another DUI. Unless he was drunk in court…

    • bobbeh beel says:

the articles last line says he smelled like alcohol, so he probably was drunk in court.

      • Ryan Waxx says:

It said he SMELLED like alcohol… but it did NOT say he tested out to be over the limit. That omission looks rather suspicious.

I’m not defending true DUI – and that guy has way too many of them – but summoning someone to court and expecting the guy to frigging teleport there is a little rich.

        • Crumbete says:

the full article, which i just found on my local paper’s website because this apparently happened where I live, goes on to say”

“Clarke said Parminter smelled of alcohol, and he found a half-full can of Keystone Light in the center console of the Cherokee, according to Flood.

A preliminary breath test indicated Parminter’s blood-alcohol content was 0.238 percent, almost three times the legal limit to drive, police said.”

So yeeeeaaaah it does say he was over the limit, whoever posted this here just cut the article off early.

          • Ryan Waxx says:

Thanks for finding the full article. Although it’s still stupid to summon someone and expect them to appear without driving (not everyone has a friend able to take off from work to drive you), we can at least expect that you not drive to court while totally hammered.

This guy needs some jail time to sober up.

            • Lindsay says:

I don’t think it’s stupid. I think stupid is driving to court hearing about your suspended license.

There are public transportation, cabs, limos (if that’s your thing), walking, running, skateboarding, skating, rollerblading, etc. There are plenty of options (including asking your friends) aside from driving to the courthouse (drunk) to discuss your DUI.

            • Hugh Morris says:

Not everyone has a courthouse on the bus line… oh wait. If he can afford to stay hammered 24/7 he can afford bus fare.

              • Rehcsif says:

More like not everyone LIVES on a bus line. If this happened where I grew up, the courthouse would be 35 miles away with nary a cab or bus available.

                • Kevin says:

Then, that guy really shouldn’t drink and drive should he? Because it’s not the court’s problem he has no convenient way to get there, that privilege was taken away because clearly he couldn’t be trusted with it.

            • hikari says:

Do they not have public transport where you live?

    • Pistol says:

@Rehcsif…yes, he was drunk in court…that is why he blew over a .20 when the officer pulled him over shortly thereafter. He was stopped for driving on a suspended license, which led to the revelation that there was an open beer in the vehicle and also that he was, in fact, hammered.

  7. AllLoveAllTheTime says:

    He must love alcohol

  8. Skyman724 says:

You’re not even done dealing with one charge and you get another? That’s like robbing a store after a hearing for your last robbery……….at the same store

    • satsumo says:

Yes, its like that because those things are almost the same. Was there some purpose to doing that comparison?

      • Larva Lamp says:

Yes. Yes there was. That’s like committing a crime right after you just got out of court from the previous crime, which was the same type of crime as the one you are now committing.

Stop doing the “oh, so you’re saying crime A is as bad as crime B?” nitpicking bit. :P

        • satsumo says:

Um, I wasn’t nitpicking. It really was about the comparison having no purpose. ‘That thing is like a thing that is very similar to it’. Your version is much more cleverer than I was being.

  9. Justice says:

He looks a bit like John Lithgow.

  10. lalalalala says:

    recursive drunk is recursive?

  11. nobody says:

What is that around his neck? It looks like he went to the hairdresser and left with the drape still on.

  12. HuskerXD says:

    From the journalstar.com website:

Although Parminter was arrested Thursday on suspicion of a fifth-offense DUI, it’s the latest in a string of eight drunken-driving-related arrests in Lincoln that began in 1981, records indicate.

  13. widogmom says:

The only thing even remotely surprising about this is that it did not take place in Wisconsin.

  14. PirateJohn says:

This is actually pretty common. As part of my job I often have to testify in court for DUI cases, and I’ve heard cops talk about following people who have just had their license revoked or suspended who will walk right out of the courtroom and into their car.

And a co-worker of mine was testifying when he walked past an open courtroom door to hear a defense attorney loudly berating his client for showing up drunk to his DUI hearing.

    • Bee says:

Some people are just too stupid to even come near a car… or to live.

    • satsumo says:

What happens if they turned up in their own car legally? Do they have to leave it parked at the court? If they go over time on the parking does the court pay the fine?

      • Cyclone says:

Uh…if your license is revoked, this is impossible. And no, you are responsible for your vehicle.

        • satsumo says:

How is it impossible? You have a license, you do something bad, go to court in car, license is revoked. Can’t drive away in your car, have to leave car in car park, get parking fine.

  15. RWW says:

I wonder if he’s ever actually harmed anyone, or come close to harming anyone, while driving “under the influence” and without the proper government paperwork.

    • legion says:

Dude. He’s impaired. If someone dies at this guy’s hands, will that make you happy? Oh, he only took off a limb, is that okay? The man is a serious threat.

      • RWW says:

Driving dangerously is clearly a very bad thing, and worthy of punishment. And this may have been a dangerous driver. However, the content of his blood or his wallet proves nothing.

        • Larva Lamp says:

Then…. what… would you have done… about it? (sorry, I’m just flabbergasted here)
So you go by the “Yeah, he may be legally drunk and driving without a license, but where’s the crime here?” philosophy?

        • Kevin says:

In the 21st century you really believe someone at three times the legal limit is NOT dangerous? Do you know the statistics on drunk driving? Seriously something like 90% of road fatalities involve a drunk driver. Either someone who was drunk and killed themselves or worse, kills other people while drunk. Drunk driving is dangerous driving, period. To think otherwise is just ridiculous.

  16. Whatt says:

I`m sitting here wondering if the officer is a relative of mine. Same area , check , same last name…check….weird.

  17. JJtoob says:

I heard this happens so often, cops routinely check people after leaving court for DUIs and other reasons their licenses might be suspended or revoked.

  18. katy cat says:

he this guy is a doosh…..what is leaving hearing? going death?

  19. DJ_Zephyr says:

Heard a story like this before. Someone losing their license and trying to drive away from the courthouse, only to be stopped by watchful cops. The stupidity of people never ceases to amuse me.

  20. Lincolnite says:

I’m just sad that my hometown-Lincoln, NE-seems to appear on FailBlog more often than anywhere else…

  21. He should have smelled that cop comming around the corner

  22. WetSandInMyTummy says:

Who would have thought that it would be possible to be arrested for the same thing TWICE?

  23. What is that around his neck? It looks like he went to the hairdresser and left with the drape still on.

  24. Nick R. Bocker says:

First of all, DUI-ing is bad, mmkay? I don’t condone it and it’s good that he was arrested for it before he hurt/killed someone.

That being said, the article says that the officer was acting on a hunch – if the officer suspected that the man was drunk, shouldn’t he have stopped the man BEFORE he got into his car, rather than allow him to drive ANY distance, endangering any innocent bystanders that may have been in his path? This is a protect-and-serve fail imo.

    • Anonny says:

Ah, but they can’t stop people on the SUSPICION that they MIGHT DUI. Innocent until proven guilty and all that. Until he got into his car and started driving drunk, they hadn’t actually observed him, driving drunk.

  25. Ted says:

Police fail and Justice fail too. DUI charges should result in automatic license suspension.

  26. Ani Reason says:

    Wow. Epic fail.

  27. gharks says:

    stalking win

  28. curmudgy says:

    Old habits die hard

  29. Wabbitkiller says:

Why can’t we just take worthless people like this and shoot them in the head. Better to take HIM out before he takes someone else out while driving drunk.
