  1. cee_ker says:

..more like “Holiday Spirit FAIL”..i bet he never “saw” him & his buddies burning any crosses either.. :/ ..makes me sad..

  2. JD says:

What? The news clip is so short, what was his explanation for the pointy head? It doesn’t look like a Coneheads reference.

    • Avis says:

The guy’s caption read “self described white separatist”. While I doubt he could spell “separatist”, I think he knew very well why the news crew was there.

    • Chris says:

The Confederate flag in the background should probably give it away.

      • Frozen says:

        True be it.

        • Kershaw says:

the Confederate flag doesn’t represent the sole ideal of slavery…

It represents a time of prosperity the American South that will never be experienced again (American south had the 4th largest economy in the world in the 17th century)
The flag was created before the Emancipation Proclamation, which turned the Civil War into a fight over slavery years after they have been fighting over restoring the Union. This was unpopular even in the North, because whites didn’t want to compete with freed slaves on a economic level. This was also a ploy by Lincoln to eliminate the idea of having France or England joining the war on the side of the south called “King Cotton”. The Confederate flag represents so much more, the rich heritage of a once thriving south, who were merely one of several other countries who had slaves.
-And seen here a few bad apples quickly gave it a bad name

          • Sara says:

“It represents a time of prosperity the American South that will never be experienced again (American south had the 4th largest economy in the world in the 17th century)”
Made possible through the use of SLAVE labor….stop trying to clean up history.

            • Kershaw says:

Slavery has been part of the moral fiber of society for thousands of years, dating back to serfdom, even the Roman institution of slavery, which was institutionalized by the American South.
-Today morally wrong, yes, and is it still prevalent today, yes.
-I was merely stating that the Confederate Flag does not represent the sole idea of black slaves. Even though today many groups such as the KKK or Fire Eaters use it to symbolize that ideal, i wasn’t created for that purpose. It was created much like the American flag today, to represent the people.

              • coliniscool says:

haha – moral fiber – sounds gross

              • Skippy says:

Perhaps, but there are many symbols that came to represent something much worse than their original ideal. People who fly the confederate flag know that it represents bigotry to many people yet they display it anyway, which shows something about them. If you didn’t want your symbol of southern pride to represent racism you shouldn’t have fought to have slaves or fought against the civil rights movement throughout the 20th century. the bad behavior of the South kind of lost them the right to say what the flag stands for.

                • Kershaw says:

I couldn’t agree more Skippy, Reconstruction put a black eye on the south, they were unable to politically or morally deal with the changes. After the Civil War the Confederate Flags meaning changed into what it is today Bigotry.
-But you cant blame the Southern People of that era…
For example, say you worked on a machine that provided your entire communtie including yourself with the only viable means of income.
Then one day a group of people say that the machine, which has been used for thousands of years is morally wrong, and that you are out of a job. Looking through the eyes of southerners of that time period, your telling me you wouldn’t fight to keep that, which provides prosperity in tact…or be scared of the outcome if they lost that one thing that is keeping their economy afloat. The south was always a one crop economy, which was their downfall.

                  • evidencebased says:

For example, say you worked on a machine that provided your entire communtie including yourself with the only viable means of income.

Sure, that’s a good parallel. For example I regularly beat and rape my computer. And then I sell our computer-human offspring for money (or keep the cute ones and continue raping them too.) And I’ve dangled a few from trees by the monitor, too, just to keep the rest in line.

              • un1k3n says:

                The Confederate constitution actually states:

“No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law, or law denying or impairing the right of property in negro slaves, shall be passed.”

“The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States, and shall have the right of transit and sojourn in any State of this Confederacy, with their slaves and other property; and the right of property in such slaves shall not be impaired.”

“No slave or Person held to Service or Labour in [one State] any State or Territory of the Confederate Slates under the Laws thereof, escaping or unlawfully carried into another, shall, in Consequence of any Law or Regulation therein, be discharged from such Service or Labour, but shall be delivered up on Claim of the Party to whom such slave belongs, or to whom such Service or Labour may be due.”

So you can try to re-write history all you want with this “heritage” crap. Doesn’t change the fact that the Confederation was fighting to keep slavery alive.

          • hunter says:

you say: “American south had the 4th largest economy in the world in the 17th century”

            i say: yes, on slaves’s spinal…..

just think, befor talking ……but i guess, us america? the country, where a health insurance is communistic.

People like the dumb in the video and you, ….not good for usa.

            • Kershaw says:

I do not know how to respond to this, considering its not even coherent.

-But no ones cares to look at the history, Brazil had slaves up until the 20th century….
Slaves and Masters worked hand and hand in the fields, and yes slaves did help the south become prosperous.
-But you obviously missed my point, I’m talking about the Flag…

              • Sara says:

I see your point about the flag but it still represents a people who were pro-slavery. What I don’t see is your mis-guided attempt to present American slavery as some sort of collabortive effort between slaves and those who prospered from their labors. “Hand and hand”?? really?? Yes the master’s hand held the whip, his hand held the gravel at the actions but no one in his right mind would see that as a partnership. And your statement “slaves did help…” just leaves me speechless.

                • Ashtray says:

You’re completely missing a point here Sara. You name 1 nation that hasn’t gotten where it is today off of the back of slavery. You think the rest of the US is blame free? Not every confederate was a bigot with slaves.

                • Kershaw says:

I’d suggest you pick up a book about the American South and not take the word of you history professor.
-Only one percent of slave holders in the south had 30 or more slaves, while fifty percent of the population had one or no slaves at all, but instead they filled the gap of slaves with children, and was very common that the master, the children, even the wife did a large amount of field labor.
Sara i got a question-Since when did slavery become black and white? Ill be generous and give you the last 500 years that African Slaves dominated the market (even though from 1500-1700 in Central and South America Indians dominated as slaves or wage laborers.) What about the prior 3000+ years where not only blacks, but every ethnicity experienced some form of slavery.
                  -Wheres my restitution check….

                  • ????? says:

history aside, stop trying to justify things which are morally wrong. none of us give a s**t about the history behind it, it’s wrong, don’t do it, all you need to know….

                  • Kershaw says:

I was merely poking fun of people who claim restitution even though NO one today in America has suffered being a slave. I find it funny we claim we are so united but still pay these people off, there are prejudices still today, including the school system-being a history teacher it is apparent.
-I was also stating that there is a possibility that one of my ancestors could have been a slave and i am not out trying to find penance for it. Its a joke.
And the Birmingham riots were during mine and my parents generation, and if they were really over it, why would they seek compensation.

                    • Sara says:

You deserved the d*ckless wonder comment. You act like the end of slavery was the end of the systematic, institutionalized, large scale oppression of black people. Ever hear of jim crow? They were burning black people at parties with whole families cheering on in the 60′s. And just because a loud FEW make an issue of reparations dosen’t mean it is a major issue. EQUAL rights has always been the goal. Your view of history is so distorted it is no longer worth the effort to debate you. Good day.

          • cee_ker says:

..ok, as of 2008, Texas–by itself–has the 15th largest worldwide economy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Texas), and extending that to the entire “south” would bump the region up into the top tier of economic impact..Today..worldwide..

..that prosperity prior to the Civil War is somehow less now than then, or hasn’t been superseded is an outright fallacy..

..the Civil War WAS fought over slavery, primarily..there were 50 years of US expansion beforehand where Every state had to be declared “free” or “slave” to maintain a balance of power in the US Senate..AND the south had to demand that slaves be counted as 3/5ths a person so they could hold reasonable sway in the House of Representatives..

..the Emancipation Proclamation didn’t happen until well after the Civil War was underway.. September 1862, to be exact..the Civil War began with the southern assault on Fort Sumter in April 1861..

..while eliminating slavery was unpopular in the north (in some quarters), it was also the north that fostered the hotbeds of the elimination of slaves..

..and the implication that the Emancipation Proclamation was a “ploy” to is simply revisionist history..England was for the south well before the EP, due to the north taking British vessels on the high seas (they held Confederate officers)..and there was vociferous support for the north in England itself, mostly due to the slavery issue (before & after the EP)..

..moreover, France was playing both sides in an effort to offset or counter whatever the more-powerful English were doing..
..basically, all potential European input in the Civil Was was based on European politics..they tended to side with whomever looked to have the advantage in the States..

..this isn’t a tirade against the stars & bars, which does have an historical place in the US..it’s a rebuttal of the outright falsehoods Kershaw presented..

..the south at that time was, indeed, merely one region among many others that employed slavery..but they were by far the most significant (& maybe the largest, i can’t really say)..

..this was not “a few bad apples” but an endemic way of life that essentially caused the Civil War..

..it was bound to happen, as our nation was conflicted about it since the Declaration of Independence (essentially)..it was horrific & left scars that remain today–but it was NOT some sort of “noble enterprise” by the south..it was our war to continue as a nation (the War between the States)..

..i reside in Texas, and i’m super-proud of that fact..but to imply some kind of southern “brotherhood” 150yrs after, is regressive to this TXan..the south was on the wrong side of history..Deal With It, i say..

            • Kershaw says:

-I agree with most of your comments….
-Popular sovereignty killed any idea of having a country of free and slave states.
-The U.S Civil War wasn’t initially fought over slavery, though it became so after the Emancipation, and the flag was created before it was created.
-France and England only considered joining the war because the south provided 60% of the worlds cotton, and didn’t want to lose their investment in cheap cotton. If it wasn’t for the Emancipation they most likely would of joined the side of the south, because of this Lincoln made the War over slavery, they could not morally join the war, since they were strongly Anti-Slavery.

I wish racists could just admit what they are and not prance around like they’re just like regular people. If you’re going to be a racist you could at least be honest about it.

    • Gert says:

Well, at least he’s not playing at being dumb.

    • Noffle says:

All people are racist, it’s hardwired.

      http://nortonbooks.typepad.com/everydaysociology/2009/04/field-experiments-and-racism.html

Some just choose to express it more regularly and openly than others.

On another note, i think it’s pretty funny, unless he was serious about it ofc.

      • cee_ker says:

..hermmm, the wikipedia “theory” also states:

“modern people use race as a proxy (rough-and-ready indicator) for coalition membership, since a better-than-random guess about “which side” another person is on will be helpful if one does not actually know in advance”

..basically that says the racial-response is due to familiarity and/or upbringing factors..Not any hardwiring..

..get to know folks, & the “hardwire” is softened & even disappears..

..since we’re post-modern now (or post-post-modern even), it seems like “coalition membership” is even more “random”..so theories about genetic-racism are not only non-genetic (more an environmental condition) but more apt to be dissolving, in a more connected society and/or world..

      • sb says:

I think the term “racist” and “prejudiced” and “stereotyping” are getting mixed here. One involves actions, one thoughts, and the other can actually be good or bad. Yes, our brain is hardwired to categorize and stereotype to survive, but that doesn’t mean we are hardwired to hate. It just means that part of the way our brain works to categorize is used by racists to hate.

        • cee_ker says:

..wait a sec!..i enjoy stereotyping!..don’t take that away from me too–!..

..nice riposte, sb..u summarized much better than i tend to do..”hate” is the issue..let’s learn not to do that..

          • Avis says:

I’d like to point out that rampant stereotyping can lead to racism and prejudice. And of course hate.
I still would like to know why we can’t all just get along?
I understand not liking individuals who are asshats, I don’t understand disliking a whole people.

            • cee_ker says:

..i tend to believe that stereotypes are a way to break down barriers..just check any comedian you’ve ever heard..”laughter is the best medicine” (whomever said that)..

..yes, it can go to extremes, but anything can do that (over-cuddling, over-pacification, over-reaction to perceived threats..even over-cooking chicken–!)..

              • Avis says:

I did NOT over cook that chicken!! I roasted it with butter, honey, and onions. And a couple of garlic cloves.

                • cee_ker says:

..wait!..i gotta wipe aside my drool..

                  ..why u so chicken-sensitive right now, Avis?..some kind of birdy-guilt for roasting a chick-mate?..

                  ..u crazy!..

                  • Avis says:

Nope, I just know how to cook! No guilt whatsoever!
I gotta say, I’ve never tried the honey part before, and I highly recommend it, the skin came out super crispy, and the meat was still moist!

      • cee_ker says:

..mebbe he’s neo-KKK?..after all, they died down for awhile, until the economic crisis hit (funny how bad economics bring out the schmucks, eh?–i say we all blame the Bankers! jk, but just barely)..

..neo-Whatevuh, it ain’t good in this case..& certainly contrary to the Season..

        • James says:

I’d blame the practice of selling bad mortgages as first rate safe investments. There was some bs math done by the mortgage brokers who sold the bad loans to banks as being good loans. It wasn’t really the banks fault (except for those that gave the zero down loans to crack heads) they just got caught holding the bag.

        • cee_ker says:

..”decent” people who know where you live & how you think–??..that’s dangerous, whether you ascribe for or against this obnoxious Fail video..

..oooh baby it’s a mad world..

      • Avis says:

Yeah, right. Fine, so what “appropriate action” should they be taking?

        • Biting Fly says:

Geez, Avis…aren’t you just a little question box? What would be the appropriate action for you? It’s part of that freedom of speech thing. If you understand that, then you know what the appropriate action is. I can think anything I want as long as my actions don’t infringe on the rights of others. While I would certainly not build a snowman resembling a clansman, I do have that right…in my own yard. As unsettling as it might be, hate speech doesn’t infringe on my freedoms. It might really, REALLY piss me off, but it doesn’t stop me from carrying on my daily life.
I intentially wrote my original comment with ambiguity. Isn’t it interesting where our minds take us?

          • Avis says:

While you have a right to freedom of expression, you still didn’t answer my question.
And if you DO decide to build such a snowman, OWN UP TO IT, don’t hem and haw about it.

            • Avis says:

I guess I was pointing out the ambiguity of “they” and “appropriate action”. Because those words could easily be taken as “fightin’ words”, and a call to action.
When discussing such a charged issue as this, one must choose their words very carefully.

Avis, we are responsible for our own actions. If we let “fightin’ words” dictate how we respond, then we’re pretty damn weak. I think we’ve beaten this dead horse enough. Goodnight, dear.

..but what’s in a flag, really?..we burn the stars & stripes, we forbid the stars & bars..it’s what’s behind it that matters..

      • Bjorn says:

but with how it’s been co-opted, the people who use the stars and bars to symbolize states’ rights are few in comparison to the ones who feel states’ rights include slavery and thus racism.

it si all in what the symbol means, but there are social connotations to be taken into consideration before the individual’s own take.

        • cee_ker says:

..yeah, Bjorn..like i say, intent is the ultimate indicator..but symbols do resonate..

..i guess battling intent is the goal..trying to stop symbols may or may not be effective, but the mind’s-eye tells the tale..

..once you put “social connotations” above individual rights, you risk falling into dangerous territory..imho..& yer correct that the States’-Rights vs Federalism is still at the core of American disconnect (compared to the rest of the world, i guess).

I reject your reality and replace it with my own. There was no noose with the snowKlansman

  40. Rev says:

Awww. Mister big bad whitey hides the evidence, scuffs his foot, and mumbles improbable denials like a little kid caught misbehaving. That is just absolutely precious. He’s so timid about it.

  41. a snow ghost really shouldn’t burn anything, so big danger of melting

  42. J. Elizabeth says:

anyone else notice the confederate flag in the background?

  43. Baribal says:

There’s no reason to get angry about this. Just go into your kitchen, mix up some napalm, douse the snowklansman and set it on fire. Just deny that burning stuff on your neighbors lawn might be seen as hateful and everything will be fine.

  44. The KKK is a terrorist organization. Doesn’t that make this guy a terrorist?

    • Avis says:

While I have no desire to defend this guy, he might not be a member of that specific organization. I do think that what he’s done is inciting terror in others though. For what it’s worth.

    • JJtoob says:

Oh I’m terrorized, all right. To become that ignorant and scared. Guy doesn’t even have the cojones to admit what he did.

    • Snake says:

I’ve heard that the KKK today is now several factions, who fight amoungst themselves. Seeing as even in America, there are laws against discriminant actions (I dearly hope), the KKK is only entitled to SAY their backward nonsense, but no lynching.

      • cee_ker says:

..yes on discriminatory actions, Snake..even in our bass-ackward USofA (dang we got a bad image since GBII)..even minor murders (oxymoron), get super-investigated for any racial concerns (well, usually..people are people, after all)..

..even the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union–the guys at the forefront of our 60′s civil rights sturggles) represents Klan or even neo-Nazi demonstrations, from time to time..depending on if their rights are being impinged..

..as we love to say: “Only in America”..& what’s great is 7/8ths of the rest of the world would like to be able to say that, too..

  45. flutingthroughlife says:

Dude… There’s a Confederate flag hanging right behind him. Who does he think he’s fooling?

  46. Frozen says:

I love how he has the Confederate flag up there too.

  47. Cyber Fox says:

    These people are fugg’n stupid

  48. Baribal says:

…or a sign saying “I didn’t get the memo that we’re doing stuff that no civilized person is supposed to be doing, which is why we bother with these masks in the first place.” Now everybody knows about his affiliation AND his lack of cognitive capacity.

  49. Crysania says:

Holiday tact fail? More like fail at life? Human being fail? This isn’t really funny. It’s just sad.

  50. LouZha says:

Well, he tried to make a burning cross outa snow, but it just kept melting.

  51. Charlotte says:

    Dear Axe,
NO, I DO NOT WANT “TOUCH-ABLY CLEAN HAIR”.
    STOP ASKING.

  52. clraxx says:

obviously a confederate flag in the background, maybe its just a coincidence

  53. sas says:

    Marry me.

I’m guessing a slight ED problem as well. Please Texas, secede already.

  54. Georgie Brent says:

As a white person I for one am glad he is a white seperatist. I want this idiot as far away from me as possible. :)

  55. Georgie Brent says:

    @Teslarawkes You just got served.
    @ Greeble Way to go.

  56. ltek1 says:

Ohh, NOOSE? I thought you said MOOSE. Hell yeah it had a noose. All I’m saying is, I never saw no MOOSE there.

  57. The Leprechaun (shopped-spotter) says:

a noose around a snowman?…..i agree with this white supremacist…KILL WHITEY!!!

  58. Isitin3Dbro says:
