  1. dd says:

    Ha! Pedo bear`s secret identity

    • AllGreatAllTheTime says:

Mr. Pedo is not great for Homeland Security.

      • DJ says:

Hide yo’ kids, hide yo’ wife, they rapin’ err’body out here.

      • Al says:

Tut tut – it’s not the rest of the world’s fault that Americans think of sex when they think of children.

Take a good, hard, deep look in the mirror and ask who’s the fail ;-)

        • AllGreatAllTheTime says:

Making tut tut then looking in the mirror is so great!

        • IceColdTroll says:

Take a good hard deep — huh? You freakin pervert! Now come on — guy nekkid except his drawers peeking around the corner at a kid — I don’t care who ya are, that looks creepy.

        • chester says:

oh? What do you think of when you see a guy hiding behind a door in his underpants (which seem to be bulging) while he smiles and takes a peek at some kid that, judging by the skin colours, isnt his?

        • K says:

this is not english, ergo not american you dips**t.

    • action potential says:

…but I can see pedobear lurking under the tree. I understand now – the guy in the ugly underpants is just there to create a distraction so pedobear can pounce.

      • jamisings says:

Except Pedobear only likes little GIRLS. It’s that cat-thing that likes boys.

Wish you people would get your memes right.

        • Hi deth says:

How can you tell its a boy

        • Squiddly says:

          Shotacat?

        • dej says:

          PEDOBEAR DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE

        • tyberius says:

You’re right about that, the canon of the internets does speak of Pedobear being girls-only.

On the other hand, in a highly disturbing comic I’ve read somewhere, the Bear himself explain that calling him “pedobear” is somewhat of a misnomer, as “pedo” is a non-gender-specific prefix, while the name Shotacat clearly implies that he’s into little boys.
I guess this speaks of our partiarchal, heteronormative society where “pedo” automatically refers to a male who is into little girls. In this age of political correctness, the right thing to do would be to rename Pedobear to Lolibear, and create a new, gender-insensitive Pedo-mascot who would embrace children of the full gender spectrum (girls, boys, transsexual children, hermaphrodites, Eli from Let The Right One In) with his perverted love. Of course, we all know that the Internet neigborhood where Pedobear and Shotacat were born is far from being PC.

    • Sam says:

omg i just started laughing my as$ off wen i saw this here at the library. im also high

    • HilarityThyNameIsFail says:

Have you been a good boy? Well bend over and I’ll put a present in your stocking.

  2. HaSkO says:

    “Is that mr. Santa”

  3. PlutoniumBoss says:

Only in America would a dad walking around his own home at night in his underwear be seen as perverted.

    • CoffeeandTea says:

Then thank goodness this ad is Brazilian!

    • Donugee says:

it’s not that it looks perverted just because he’s in his underwears, but the fact that he’s looking over the door the kid with that smile on his face…

      • PlutoniumBoss says:

He’s smiling because it’s CHRISTMAS, and he’s sneaking because he doesn’t want to ruin the kid’s moment of getting up in the middle of the night to see the presents before everyone else.

Anybody who honestly sees something sinister in this picture, not just as an immature joke but something actually perverted, needs to get examined, because there is something wrong with them.

    • Jade says:

I think it’s more his position and expression combined with his lack of clothing than the lack of clothing itself.

    • Failtofail says:

      i agree…. this is so lame…

    • Starkk says:

You fail to take into consideration the other elements in this picture. The man is sneaking up on a small child, while giving a text book child molestor smile. The underwear part is only icing on the cake.

Btw, only in where you come from would some older man sneaking around a home in his underwear be assumed to be the father of the small child he is sneaking up on.

      • action potential says:

I think there are a number of different issues: culture, class and perhaps even climate, that are having an effect on peoples’ reactions to this image.

Incidentally, when I saw your comment about the smile, I looked again – I’m not sure the smile would look creepy if the man was fully clothed. Certainly, the image stikes me as a rather nasty one but then, if I dig deep down into my own upbringing, I know that I can’t feel that it’s socially acceptable to wander around wearing nothing but underwear when there are family members or anyone else (other than just a lover) around. However, I know that that’s partly snobbery on my part – my father would never have stepped outside his bedroom door wearing less than a dressing gown but, having compared childhoods with plenty of friends over the years, I know that more relaxed standards were acceptable in other households.

It’s also possible that different social norms develop in different climates. In cold, northern climes (for me that’s mostly UK with a few years of childhood in north eastern US) perhaps we just automatically reach for more layers of clothing to put on.

There are cultural differences to the way that we’ve all reacted to the image. One thing that strikes me is that I can’t imagine any UK advert for adult underwear that would feature a child – I know that you see photos of families all wearing a brand of thermal undies, etc, to demonstrate a range of sizes but then there’s a reason for the children to be in the photo. In this particular case, the presence of the child seems gratuitous.

        • nmgyrl says:

That’s not snobbery, it’s prudery. You feel uncomfortable with it because your dad brought you up that way, but if he’d routinely walked around in his underwear instead, it would hardly have traumatized you.

I’m sure the kid is there because it’s a Christmas promotion. The dad’s stance is a bit unnatural, no doubt so the photo will show off the subject of the ad better. And I must say this particular choice of pattern is eye-catching.

          • Jack says:

That said, I do regularly go around my house in nothing but underwear. Body taboos do nothing for anyone and I’m NOT encouraging them in my own child.

    • ClariPossum says:

Honestly, most of the time, it’s not, but people on this site love to take things like this and overreact to them.

That said, I personally wouldn’t go around in my underwear around my children, but that’s just my own personal preference.

  4. Noam says:

I require you to take off your hat.

  5. Dusk says:

    getting a little frisky there

  6. vanillliza says:

come here santa got a ,,gift” for you

  7. M.U. says:

Have you ever wondered why you never actually see misses Clause, even though it’s generally accepted that there is one?

    Now you know.

  8. MrBean says:

    HAHA brazillian undewear!

    • Trollkowsky says:

That’s incredibly lame ….. still more hilarious than all FB posts of last 2 weeks.

    • satsumo says:

Your dog is very cute. I think you should consider buying him a bone, much better for his teeth than chewing on a package. Perhaps spend a little less time playing games and more time with your dog, so that he dosen’t want to destroy them.

  9. KWC says:

Yeah I have to agree that I fail to see the fail here. Man in his own house at night in his underwear. Not a fail. Child seeking an early look at the Christmas presents. Not a fail. Father smiling because he is enjoying watching his child enjoy Christmas. Also not a fail. There is enough genuine fail that that we shouldn’t have to try this hard to turn something innocent into a “fail”.

  10. GodLessTheUSA says:

    Tom Brady?

  11. I hate you says:

Aw stop being so damm serious folks! Just just assume the dude is NOT the kids dad and enjoy a good pedo/creeper joke! Sheesh!

  12. LP says:

I have been looking at the ad for over a minute and I still don’t see it. Reading other comments I am thinking maybe I am too old… For me there is nothing sexual in the picture.

  13. danger says:

is it that his underwear are on backwards???

    • Michael says:

Yeah, that’s what I thought at first. It took me a minute to realize that I was supposed to be thinking of pedophilia, like most Americans apparently do.

      • PlutoniumBoss says:

As an American, I have to say… I pretty much have the same opinion of the average American as you do. And historically speaking, we’re overdue for an empire collapse, so the national psychoses probably will get worse before they get better. But I have hope that eventually we will get our collective crap together.

  14. rayna says:

    everything is wrong about this

  15. Dan says:

Come see what Santa has in his stocking for you little boy…

  16. Me says:

I thought the fail was that he has no junk.

  17. MsBuzz says:

I am sorry, but this dude is hot. He has a fantastic body. This is a win in my book.

  18. JK says:

Great body, but no basket. Is that the fail?

  19. Fritriac says:

    Take a seat over there…

  20. MiniSCurtis says:

I think this is just another adorable father-son moment on Christmas Eve. Enough of these “Pedobear” comments.

    Critics these days.

  21. B. says:

Ok, I’m a Brazilian women and honestly there is nothing wrong with this ad. Guys, Christmas here has always passed 86 degrees Fahrenheit and after the Christmas party is over and everybody goes to sleep, and there is no one in your house except your family, it is normal that you circulate with underwear and nothing else (covering all private parts of course!)! And people don’t get that “pervert” idea not because we are “used to it”, it’s just because it’s always so hot in Brazil, that’s it! Don’t you guys know “Carnival” here in Brazil? People here have another culture, but we know what looks pervert and what doesn’t. It’s just a temperature issue :-)

  22. vitaborahy says:

Gosh… i’m brazilian and i’m telling u guys it’s from brazil (even the brand is from brazil!)

  23. vitaborahy says:

one more thing: i saw some comments saying most brazilians are black… That’s no problem, although it’s incorrect (about 51% of brazilian people are white, specially in the southeast (Rio and São Paulo) and south regions) Ps: i’m from rio and i’m white =P

  24. fentagin says:

    OMG A PEDOBEAR! KICK HIM!

Where to? Is he American as always?

  25. trix says:

Just for north americans this is about pedophilia… And yes, Brazil is an american country.

  26. N.Reek says:

Ronaldooo!! He Shines a lot in Curintia

  27. N.Reek says:

Bem cs sao tudo americano, e tao tudo achando q isso eh italiano..haha..
    vao tudo caga no mato!!!!!

    CHELSEA FC RLZ!

  28. N.Reek says:

aham…eles devem ter aquela visao q aqui so tem macaco e carnaval msm…
mas aqui pra curitiba esse negocio de calor nun funfa nao..hehe

  29. Vinicius says:

This ad is for a Brazillian underwear company, and it’s written in Brazillian Portuguese. It was vehiculated in a major magazine here, and, for us brazillians, there’s nothing wrong with the picture. It portraits a father-son moment, and only this.

I understand, however, how it can be misinterpreted for a foreign eye. Here, in Brasil, due the hot climate, it’s common to the males sleep only in the underwear, cause we don’t need ant layers of clothing.

And, the subject of pedophilia here it’s much more restricted to the news than to the day-by-day of an average person.

    • Drty says:

i wouldn’t mind if mommy swings her bells around this even legal but why is that man wants to show his underwear to his kids

  30. Murilo Silva says:

Another moment of pride for Brazil…

It only gets weirder when you see the small letters in the lower left corner, who say something about prostate cancer and regular rectal exams.

  31. Chante says:

I would not mind waking up to find him in my house! Yummy :-)

  32. deedee says:

I still think it`s Pedo bear

  33. tums says:

“Oh in the name of morality!”

Well, reading all the pedo comments on a picture that has absolutely nothing sexual about, I know how ‘morality’ is established:

It takes a perverse mind to find another.

Good job, people. Instead of just one perverse, you have revealed a page full.

  34. TT says:

Dude looks like he’s about to jump out and scare the kid, and his underwear hurts my eyes. *shrug*

  35. vitor says:

Hey! I use those too =D

  36. Non pedo pedobear says:

I think this guy is simply sneaking down in the livingroom to check out his own presents, and I think it’s actully a pretty funny comercial. Maybe it have something to do with me being Dane, and the relaxed look on nudety we have in Denmark, but I think this is just a childish father, not a pedo. But i have to agree in the part about his smile, it seem a bit pedo :P

  37. Ed says:

    1. I am United-Statesian.
    2. I lived in Brazil for many years, am married to a Brazilian, and speak Portuguese.
    3. When I saw this one, I thought the fail was that the piece of material over his junk looks like it was photoshopped on.
    4. Many Brazilians I know sleep nude, so couldn’t you say he got dressed to go out and check on his kid?
    5. Hasn’t your kid ever seen you in your underwear without you molesting him? Or didn’t you ever see your dad in his underwear without him molesting you?

  38. Alex says:

I don’t have much of a perverse mind when it comes to these things, but he really does look like he’s about to jump out and kidnap that kid. It doesn’t convey a cozy image of mum & dad watching their kid smile over presents… it’s really just… creepy.

  39. Maddy says:

This pic is wrong. On so many levels.

  40. Shianne Syanide says:

Well see, pedophile or not, I would do awful things to that man. ;D
The only problem is the fake junk. I think that’s the fail here.

  41. Winterview77 says:

…Santa Claus is coming to town…

  42. JBlu26 says:

poor kid, but looks like its pedo-rape time!

  43. IceColdTroll says:

I do agree there’s a bunch of things that show up around here that must have been submitted by 12 year olds who see naughty everywhere. But I will agree, this looks sketchy.

And for the record, I understand about Brazil being hot and not wearing much, and I usually don’t sleep with much on either, but gawddam, put some clothes on before ya step out of the bedroom, k????

  44. David says:

Why is Tom Cruise stalking Will Smith’s kid in Brazil?

  45. André says:

It’s known that socks, ties and underware are the most commom gift that we, fathers, get. Handkerchievs too.
The advertising is of underware. In this case, SantaClaus is the kid. The father will get the underwear as a gift from his son. The father is looking while the kid is puting the gift under the Xmas tree.
Its very funny how people see pedofilia everywhere, especially if they’re from USA.
To think that the guy in underware’s not the kid’s father, and is planning to rape him, is sick.
    ——
É sabido que meias, gravatas e cuecas são o presente mais comum que os pais costumam ganhar. lenços também.
A propaganda é de cueca. E o papai noel, no caso, é a criança.

  46. Gus says:

    worst advertising of Brazil 2010.

    Brazil was a Portuguese colony.
48.4% are white does not matter anymore

  47. carl says:

This didn’t strike me as pervy-looking at all.

  48. anonymous says:

Pedo-bear doesn’t look as bad as i expected. I wouldn’t mind being out in the little kid’s position O.<

  49. zooboopmoopoop says:

Pfft, don’t care about the kid or the fail, the dude is hot.

I wouldn’t mind sitting on his lap and telling him what I want for Xmas…

  50. Lucas says:

it’s written “comfort is trendy” in Portuguese

  51. Alex says:

    Pedobear would be proud

  52. Perselus Piton says:

If any living creature EVER sees me in my underwear, I feel honor bound to molest it (and I’m not an USian).

  53. you00uoy says:

be thankful that little boy got some condoms in that box hes holding!

  54. NotMyRealName says:

The real fail is simply that those are the UGLIEST underwear ever. *unsee*
