I worked at a grocery store in high school and people would always complain that they took up two good parking spaces and they were right in front of the store. Someone tried this at my store in a Geo Metro.
How does parking in a trolley-bay result in destruction of property?
Anyway, given that there apparently isn’t a roof on that vehicle, and the sky is obviously cloudy with rain a distinct possibility, I’d call this a covered parking-space win.
Trust me, my room mate has a Jeep Wrangler. This is the exact kind of thing he’d do. He has probably put about $7,500 into it on lift kits, bigger tires, sound systems, and GIANT METAL BUMPERS. I’ve seen this jeep climb rocks that are taller than me, and I’m 6’3″. Trust me, if someone has a Jeep Wrangler, they aren’t worried about it getting hurt. On the contrary, my room mate will go out of his way to CRUSH shopping carts that are taking up good spots. Trying to block someone with a Jeep into a parking spot with carts is like trying to stop a wildfire with a wooden dam.
I’d park there.
If there was one space with a shade over it, and I could cram my tiny little Jeep into it, I’d do it.
My grandma has a Jeep and does this all the time.
Agreed. Back when I worked carts for the local grocery store back in high school I would have removed the valve cores on his tires and blocked him in with one of the loose cement dividers with some help from the others on cart duty. Good luck getting it out without looking like a total douchebag in front of everyone including the cops and store managers.
I was hoping not to get all lawery and preachy, but you pushed it.
1. There are no signs posted, so he isn’t doing anything “illegal” he’s just being a douche bag.
2. By stealing his valve cores, and moving the cement divider in front of his car, you have now committed an INDICTABLE offense according to Terry V. Ohio, which states that a civilian may not attempt to detain another citizen, without probable cause. (only a peace officer with reasonable suspicion may do so).
So, how would your “brilliant scheme” end? You would end up on probation with a felony on your record, and your store would issue an apology to him.
You’re assuming someone would witness the “crime” and report it. I’m sure any of the “witness” would gladly keep their mouth shut just to spite the jeep driver. And not all stores have parking lot security camera either so don’t think of asking for video tape.
Shoulda woulda coulda. No property damage and no “no parking” sign means that you’d have your ass handed to you by the Jeep owner that came out and found you messing with his Jeep. Which messing with, by the way, ‘would’ be illegal, unlike that parking job.
let me re-iterate myself. My room mate has a Jeep. He purposefully CRUSHES shopping carts that get in his way. You’d be trying to stop a wildfire with a wooden dam.
What I’d like to know is why do they have a roof over the cart coral? How often does it rain with out any wind. They wouldn’t stay dry anyway with the wind blowing rain in under the roof. Also, why do the carts need to be dry at all?
It’s a fail if he’s an idiot and doesn’t know a proper parking lot but it’s a clear win because he is too fricking smart i’ll try that next time i’m going shopping :-”
Clearly a win, EPIC WIN! I’m a bit upset that this is labeled as a fail. in fact I’m thinking of taking a picture of the screen shot and listing it as a failblog win/fail fail.
Long time ago, I once worked at a grocery store. Well, someone parked in the cart return zone, so I retaliated by arranging carts in front of his driver-side door in a gridlock pattern so he’d have to move no less than half of them to open his door.
I also remember there being a sign in the front window that said, “Serving is our pleasure. No tipping please.” I so wanted to change it to say, “Serving is our pleasure? No! Tipping, please.”
Actually I hate when I’m driving around and cant find a spot to park, and I see those buggy holders and wish I could park there. I’m considering this a WIN!!
If only the cart guys at the grocery store I work at weren’t idiots, I MAY consider this…actually surprised no one has tried that at my store. This is definitely a win! I wonder if this happened at a Giant near my house…hmmm.
As a fellow Jeeper, I not only approve of this parking, I have done it. Yeah, they are pretty water proof on the inside, but it still isn’t fun to have a case of the wet ass after a short summer shower.
Its funny that people care enough to say “he’s a douchebag” or “what an a$$hole” WTF? Like that $hit would ruin your day cuz you were ACTUALLY going to put your cart in the correct place. BS. Ya”ll are juss mad u dont have the nuts to park your car right there and someone else did. And for the ex super market employees who had to collect carts from the parking lot…I’m sure that job brings no excitement especially when your only getting carts from the parkin lot. But seeing someone do this would have me laughin at least a lil. I might even pull sum krayzie prank on them for doing it but i wouldn’t be all pissed like its a big deal.
totally a win, since nobody ever uses those corrals for their intended purpose. the only way this could be better is if the whole setup was also a handicapped spot.
well.. since theres no sign saying you’re not allowd to do that, i suppose you’re allowed to do that
soo truee!!!! thats a WINNN!!!! LOL
I worked at a grocery store in high school and people would always complain that they took up two good parking spaces and they were right in front of the store. Someone tried this at my store in a Geo Metro.
I’ve done this twice in a Geo Metro ^_^
and yeah… yet another FailBlog FAIL fail.
Hope he was arrested for possible destruction of private property.
Non-existent destruction is existent.
How does parking in a trolley-bay result in destruction of property?
Anyway, given that there apparently isn’t a roof on that vehicle, and the sky is obviously cloudy with rain a distinct possibility, I’d call this a covered parking-space win.
hope your arrested for making false arresting statements.
But isnt a Geo Metro just a shopping cart with a lawnmower engine anyway?=)
Yeah, shouldn’t this be labeled as a win?
That’s absolutely a win!
Atleast he found a shady spot.
Such win.
i’ve drove a metro geo jeep…its a win
shopping cart fail, parking win.
Exactly
They might have been expecting rain.
Your Avatar is a Bird. This thread is invalid.
But what if I say ‘OBJECTION!!’?
Yo MaMa (teh basmnt kitteh) OVERRULES.
Rain possibility is viable.
Pink Bat is justified.
Avis may proceed with parking.
It’s impossible to “dust of” anything.
This thread is still invalid.
thats not a cart…
Yes it is.
yes but only on thursdays
I think that more like parking win. what if it rained?
Or snowed, or hailed? WIN!!
I’d consider this an epic win.
No, that’s definitely a win.
hjfghdg
And immediately after the picture was take,n a shopping cart was rammed into the rear of the vehicle. Hey, how come it didn’t “nest”?
and yes, that’s a comma fail (or a fat-fingered typist fail). So sue me.
win
It looks like it’s been hit by carts before. I wouldn’t worry about it.
More like a Jeep win than a parking fail.
Wonder if the store employee piled shopping carts into that and blocked the jeep to spite the annoying customer…
I thought store employees were paid to *remove* shopping carts from those corrals.
From what I’ve seen, they’re being paid to stand around just off-camera doing nothing at all.
you can’t block a jeep. LOL.
Almost no one puts their carts in the proper place anyway. Now, if the Jeep was parked with its front tires over a planter…
Cart crushing fiesta in 3… 2…
Trust me, my room mate has a Jeep Wrangler. This is the exact kind of thing he’d do. He has probably put about $7,500 into it on lift kits, bigger tires, sound systems, and GIANT METAL BUMPERS. your roommate sounds like a douchebag to me.
Yes. He sounds like a douchebag. I think he must be trying to compensate for something.
I’d park there.
If there was one space with a shade over it, and I could cram my tiny little Jeep into it, I’d do it.
My grandma has a Jeep and does this all the time.
why the hell doesn’t my market have covered parking??? i’m writing a letter!
That’s a win.
Parking FAIL? more like parking SCORE!
That’s a new model o shopping carts <3
Pennsylvania drivers know a dry spot when they see one!!! What cracks me up is are’nt Jeeps waterproof?!?
Well, with this strong roof it will be totally waterproof!
WINNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree, parking WIN!!!
Jeep Win. Failblog Fail.
i couldnt agree more
I agree, Jeep=WIN
No way that’s an epic win!
Agree with the others… total epic WIN!
Yep agreed total WIN!!!
I think that is a WIN!
Thats Win!
win
That is definatly a WIN!
If that ain’t WIN, then I have NFI what is.
It’s a fail. That was a moronic thing to do and if I saw it I’d gather every shopping cart I could find and pile them up behind it.
Agreed. Back when I worked carts for the local grocery store back in high school I would have removed the valve cores on his tires and blocked him in with one of the loose cement dividers with some help from the others on cart duty. Good luck getting it out without looking like a total douchebag in front of everyone including the cops and store managers.
Love that idea! I would have been content to bombard the car with multiple carts- hey, it’s where they belong, right?
Yeah, but did you see the bumper on that thing? It would probably do more damage to the carts. He might not even notice.
Taking the valve cores? You’re evil, but I like your style.
I was hoping not to get all lawery and preachy, but you pushed it.
1. There are no signs posted, so he isn’t doing anything “illegal” he’s just being a douche bag.

Ill take that cart, if u dont hurry up when im paying, im going into second gear
that is a win
total win.
I KNOW THAT PLACE! It’s the Mechanicsburg, PA – GIANT grocery store! Love that place, upscale shopping with walmart prices!
They all look alike but I think thats the Giant in Leola PA
They do all look alike. It looks just like the Giant on N Atherton in State College, too.
Silly jeep, cart parks are for SmartCars.
or stupid people./
failblog fail again! its another win
I C WIN!
What I’d like to know is why do they have a roof over the cart coral? How often does it rain with out any wind. They wouldn’t stay dry anyway with the wind blowing rain in under the roof. Also, why do the carts need to be dry at all?
Maybe it’s to make it more obvious that the space is for shopping carts and not for a$$hole parkers like this douche.
If that’s the case, it looks like this is the store’s fail.
Then why not just put the roof low enough that people couldn’t park there? Carts aren’t exactly tall.
No but people are. Don’t know about you but I’d rather not have to crouch down every time I wanted a trolley.
Aw… you said “trolley”. What a cute foreigner! Hehe…
so crazy idea
What a jack ass unless they where pointing out how no one ever uses a cart return…lol
ha definitely have done that before.
Asian driver right there!
That’s not racist or anything…
That’s sure win!
Agreed – win!
Shopping car gopher WIN (empty space), Jeep WIN!
As someone whos been on the cart pushing end of this, that a**hole.
i would have put my cart in the car.
that would have been a bigger win….maybe even EPIC win
shopping cart fail, JEEP win. jeep gets covered parking automatically
He just wanted to park in the shade…..still a win
I’m sorry, but how is that fail? That’s a win.
Definitely a win. Too many people are fail-happy.
So it’s a Win to be a prick is it? Maybe it should be titled as “Consideration Fail” instead then.
WIN
okie!
)
hi you know those jeeps cant stand against the weather very well.
That’s a win.
Fail Blog fails yet again. That’s difinately a win.
It’s a fail if he’s an idiot and doesn’t know a proper parking lot but it’s a clear win because he is too fricking smart
i’ll try that next time i’m going shopping :-”
I bet the driver is a fat redneck woman
I bet that the person is fit and attractive, and a bit of a rebel.
I bet the driver doesn’t care what you think.
WIN!
Clearly a win, EPIC WIN! I’m a bit upset that this is labeled as a fail. in fact I’m thinking of taking a picture of the screen shot and listing it as a failblog win/fail fail.
Yeah you are right actually
jeep size WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Duh. Clearly, he’s off-piste
Obviously a win!
Jeep win!
Seems more like a win to me
As a Wrangler owner, that’s neither a WIN nor a FAIL. It’s just another day, the usual, what we do. Nothing special.
Agreed. 0IIII0
that’s not a fail, that’s a WIN!!!
this is a win
Parking WIN! If my car fitted in there I would park it in the shade..
It does look like a VIP parking spot!
I don’t care what you say. Thats a WIN!
if it rains it would definitely be a win?
WIN!!!!
Definitely a WIN!
Long time ago, I once worked at a grocery store. Well, someone parked in the cart return zone, so I retaliated by arranging carts in front of his driver-side door in a gridlock pattern so he’d have to move no less than half of them to open his door.

that’s a WIN goddammit

As a fellow Jeeper, I not only approve of this parking, I have done it. Yeah, they are pretty water proof on the inside, but it still isn’t fun to have a case of the wet ass after a short summer shower.
win!!! i would so do that if i had a jeep and it was about to rain haha
Its funny that people care enough to say “he’s a douchebag” or “what an a$$hole” WTF? Like that $hit would ruin your day cuz you were ACTUALLY going to put your cart in the correct place. BS. How do i change this stupid pink square to another color or image??
that is definitely a win
totally a win, since nobody ever uses those corrals for their intended purpose. the only way this could be better is if the whole setup was also a handicapped spot.
This is a WIN
There is a Picture Challenge thread on JeepForum.com…. this was one of the challenges!
Their from Pennsylvania. Terrible driving skills is to be expected.
Ich hoffe, dass er für eine mögliche Zerstörung von Privateigentum wurde verhaftet.
