          *gives Gracie ‘the look’*

          *secretly giggles*

I am very good! My youngest turns 10 tomorrow, so I’m a little sad about her hitting double digits. Otherwise, the weather is gorgeous here, it’s payday…and did I mention the weekend starts at 5 p.m. for me today!?!?
          *sigh*
          Yeah…life is good.

  10. Physics says:

Donkey Kong with gravity defying arms.

  11. Shipoopi says:

    rotoshoped

  12. conanarama says:

Aside from soda boxes being unable to float, it’s a bad photoshop.

    • blah says:

Well… for being a shop, they must have done a really good job on the reflection in the floor… I suppose these gravity defying arms could be accomplished IRL with some strips of horizontal structural support and depend on counter balance from the supported side… or even easier with empty cases and some glue.

      • conanarama says:

I only say poorly done because of Donkey Kong’s left arm, near the elbow. The box in the corner is half ‘shopped out.

    • Jam says:

It could be photshopped(and probably is), but you could accomplish this with some thin boards as well. Looking at both sides of the arms, it would balance out and if you made the colors match with the brown it would blend in the photo..

  13. sandert says:

this could very easily end up becoming a fail…

  14. gulo says:

It may just be cartons glued together. Those cantilevered ones wouldn’t stay up if they were full of soda.

  15. Little Girl Blue >ZAP!< Dot Org says:

They really should stop monkeying around creating displays like this and get back to work…

  16. Rayne says:

    DO A BARREL ROLL!!

  17. M0nk3yb01 says:

I cant say for sure, but I know Cub Foods (at least the one in my area) does stuff like this all the time. Right now they have ones of ghosts and pumpkins for Halloween.

  18. deedee13 says:

Who ever thinks the photo’s fake should get a life and go outside to the supermarket

  19. That troll is poison! says:

Perhaps some boxes are full and others are empty glued on…

  20. rejuvenation says:

If this is not fotoshopped, then DAMN they put that thing in the wrong place! It’s blocking the entire path 0_0

  21. Pennyforth says:

Shaking head at all the retards who automatically post “shopped”….you know, folks, just because you lack the talent to do anything more creative than type “shopped” into a comment form doesn’t mean that other people aren’t capable of doing creative things IRL. Sad.

    • jasonxmichael says:

      Amen!

It’s amazing how many idiots pull the knee-jerk ‘OMG shopped~!’ card. If they actually read the comments, they’d see the simple explanation (empty boxes glued together), but it’s easier to just look at a pretty picture and spew out whatever useless drivel drips out of their brain without doing 30 seconds of research first. I’m about 90% sure that my post here will be answered with some ‘tard replying with “tl;dr” because it is longer than one sentence.

  22. A_ninja says:

gravity fail/soda win woulda been better

  23. r jou says:

lol the people that say this is a shop are not very bright.

  24. Lisa says:

    OK, follow along people.

Look closely…. the rows where there are cartons “floating” there is a piece of plywood under the row, which the end cartons are resting on. No super glue necessary.

  25. confused person says:

Do people not realize that failblog has an epic win section to post this stuff?

  26. KridikJones says:

I call shenanigans! The arms defy the laws of physics!

  27. Naman says:

It’s not fake! I’m pretty positive that photo was taken in G&G supermarket in Santa Rosa, CA! I saw that display in person and thought about taking a photo of it to put on the internets. I guess I should have!

  28. Jim says:

Look at the right-most boxes on the top two rows on the monkey’s left paw. Look at the lines of the sides of the boxes – they’re not straight, there’s a slight roundness and blurriness to the lines. Exhibit 1 of being photoshopped.

Exhibit 2: look at the sixth row of boxes from the top on the monkey’s left paw – the bottoms of the boxes kind of blur out and fade away. Wouldn’t happen in reality.

  29. Justdoug says:

Empties taped to the sides. It’s real. Seen similar displays done at the store by me that they have done the same thing.

  30. ctlaurin says:

They’re empty. Vendors will send these things to promote their product all the time in grocery stores.

  31. dw says:

    It’s on like Donkey Kong!

  32. Rashkavar says:

    Soda Win, Gravity Fail.

  33. johnwuzhere says:

am i the only one that noticed that the nothings holding up the arms? theres boxes on the side with no boxes under them

  34. Froppo says:

I’m almost positive this was Photo-shopped. Not that it couldn’t be done, but if you look at the floor the lines of the cans aren’t clean, they are blurred whereas the lines of the cans at the top of the display are clean. Also, the reflection on the floor seems fishy. You can barely see the legs of the monkey, but there doesn’t seem to be an outline reflection…you can only see the outline of the items ‘behind’ the display.

  35. tjb0607 says:

    Now in real life

  36. lawl says:

    Nintendo WIN/Life FAIL

  37. HetaliaLOL says:

    *gaspgasm*

  38. Kate says:

Grocery stores do these displays all the time. My mother works for a beer company, and they have these little charts where they can plot out the colors beforehand. They just use those long 12-packs of sodas in the appropriate colors.

Methinks the internets have made some people pretty jaded.

  39. sam says:

    Respect if boxes and glue!
