Ya, I’d vote for glue and empty boxes too. The bottom ones are manybe full (with weight, no with actual soda) so it doenst fall. Bcuz it’s be sad to have real marchandize in that, cuz if someone wants to take one, the figure is destroyed
me too, photoshop would just not be neded for this pic, a store could easially do this with the right matierials. Just becasue a picture is not what it is inteneded to be asssumed it is, doesnt mean its a photoshop
You are correct! I checked it out when they had it up, and it was empty boxes glued/taped together. Cool as hell though. Doubly so now that it’s made the front page of Failblog!
Whoever did it OBVIOUSLY had way too much time on their hands, and this was probably meant for display only… Heck, I know I’D buy some soda after seeing that XD I’m sure they used heavy duty tape.
I am very good! My youngest turns 10 tomorrow, so I’m a little sad about her hitting double digits. Otherwise, the weather is gorgeous here, it’s payday…and did I mention the weekend starts at 5 p.m. for me today!?!?
*sigh*
Yeah…life is good.
Well… for being a shop, they must have done a really good job on the reflection in the floor… I suppose these gravity defying arms could be accomplished IRL with some strips of horizontal structural support and depend on counter balance from the supported side… or even easier with empty cases and some glue.
It could be photshopped(and probably is), but you could accomplish this with some thin boards as well. Looking at both sides of the arms, it would balance out and if you made the colors match with the brown it would blend in the photo..
I cant say for sure, but I know Cub Foods (at least the one in my area) does stuff like this all the time. Right now they have ones of ghosts and pumpkins for Halloween.
Shaking head at all the retards who automatically post “shopped”….you know, folks, just because you lack the talent to do anything more creative than type “shopped” into a comment form doesn’t mean that other people aren’t capable of doing creative things IRL. Sad.
It’s amazing how many idiots pull the knee-jerk ‘OMG shopped~!’ card. If they actually read the comments, they’d see the simple explanation (empty boxes glued together), but it’s easier to just look at a pretty picture and spew out whatever useless drivel drips out of their brain without doing 30 seconds of research first. I’m about 90% sure that my post here will be answered with some ‘tard replying with “tl;dr” because it is longer than one sentence.
Look closely…. the rows where there are cartons “floating” there is a piece of plywood under the row, which the end cartons are resting on. No super glue necessary.
It’s not fake! I’m pretty positive that photo was taken in G&G supermarket in Santa Rosa, CA! I saw that display in person and thought about taking a photo of it to put on the internets. I guess I should have!
Look at the right-most boxes on the top two rows on the monkey’s left paw. Look at the lines of the sides of the boxes – they’re not straight, there’s a slight roundness and blurriness to the lines. Exhibit 1 of being photoshopped.
Exhibit 2: look at the sixth row of boxes from the top on the monkey’s left paw – the bottoms of the boxes kind of blur out and fade away. Wouldn’t happen in reality.
I’m almost positive this was Photo-shopped. Not that it couldn’t be done, but if you look at the floor the lines of the cans aren’t clean, they are blurred whereas the lines of the cans at the top of the display are clean. Also, the reflection on the floor seems fishy. You can barely see the legs of the monkey, but there doesn’t seem to be an outline reflection…you can only see the outline of the items ‘behind’ the display.
Grocery stores do these displays all the time. My mother works for a beer company, and they have these little charts where they can plot out the colors beforehand. They just use those long 12-packs of sodas in the appropriate colors.
Methinks the internets have made some people pretty jaded.
Your mom.
This had to be shopped… look at the thumb on the right hand. Seems to be floating… anyone thinks otherwise let me know.
The monkey’s left hand, our right.
Monkeys have hands?
No. They have hooves. To help them trot through the trees.
lol
You’re just sore from the beating I gave you down there VV, boobs…
Some boobs really need some sort of restraint.
*Squeeze*
boobs wins this round.
Monkeys have hand-paws.
If this is a photo edit, it’s a fantastic one.
Not everything deceptive is a ‘shop though, so I’m going to vote for empty boxes and glue.
That’s also possible… I was looking at just the thumb, then noticed the entire arm seems to be floating.
The weight of the arm holds it to the torso. DUH
ok troll, the arms boxes are not resting on top of others..
There’s only two other possibilities:
Duct tape or Gorrilla glue.
you forgot magic
I killed the magic.
Ya, I’d vote for glue and empty boxes too. The bottom ones are manybe full (with weight, no with actual soda) so it doenst fall. Bcuz it’s be sad to have real marchandize in that, cuz if someone wants to take one, the figure is destroyed

That makes sense cause it couldn’t stand up the way it is
+1 on the boxes and glue, yes the elbows and some of the fingers are suspended so I’m betting its boxes and glue.
you just jealous cause your fat butt aint talented
its probably empty boxes glued together
You are correct! I checked it out when they had it up, and it was empty boxes glued/taped together. Cool as hell though. Doubly so now that it’s made the front page of Failblog!
More like Gravity FAIL
I have to agree. The hands and arms seem to have floating soda boxes. Doesn’t make any sense
Hasn’t anybody ever seen a box of Wonka’s Fizzy Lifting Drink before?
So that’s why I almost left Earth’s atmoshere a few years ago! It’s hard to breathe up there.
Coca cola and pepsi send a special team to make this… the boxes on top are empty and stuck together.
I was wondering the same thing; why is it floating?
Whoever did it OBVIOUSLY had way too much time on their hands, and this was probably meant for display only… Heck, I know I’D buy some soda after seeing that XD I’m sure they used heavy duty tape.
He works for Pepsi and got paid to do it.
Yeah, I was thinking that too….. I guess that’s where you take a soda from if you want to buy one without the whole thing falling on you xD
NOT PHOTOSHOPPED, I WAS THERE. THEY ARE EMPTY.
There’s always an “expert”, with “knowledge” of the “facts”.

this picture is definitely shooped. Some boxes naer the top are hanging in midair, unless they were like super glued to the ones next to it
NO I DISAGREE
shoop shoop shoop de doop
Because they can’t possibly be empty boxes glued together or anything reasonable like that.
I guess that’s why you’re named “Obviously”. And it actually IS empty boxes glued together.
Yeah I saw this in person several months ago. Definitely not shopped.
Donkey Kong!!! Yeeey! Must have a funny monkey taste
Hey, is that the Lab Monkey?
*adds another comma after ‘Lab’*
*doesn’t say why*
*skipsawaymerrily*
She stuck her comma in my monkey, but she didn’t even call the next day.

Nice. Very nice indeed. Have a great weekend, hopefully your daughter will enjoy her big ten-o.
Donkey Kong with gravity defying arms.
Gravity: It’s not just a good idea, it’s the law!
I just don’t think he understands the gravity of the situation, CJ…
♪What goes up, must come down
Spinning wheel got to go ’round♪
Gravity? Gravity!? WE DON’T NEED NO STINKING GRAVITY.
rotoshoped
not photoshopped.
i saw this a couple of months ago, dummies.
Aside from soda boxes being unable to float, it’s a bad photoshop.
Well… for being a shop, they must have done a really good job on the reflection in the floor… I suppose these gravity defying arms could be accomplished IRL with some strips of horizontal structural support and depend on counter balance from the supported side… or even easier with empty cases and some glue.
I only say poorly done because of Donkey Kong’s left arm, near the elbow. The box in the corner is half ‘shopped out.
It could be photshopped(and probably is), but you could accomplish this with some thin boards as well. Looking at both sides of the arms, it would balance out and if you made the colors match with the brown it would blend in the photo..
this could very easily end up becoming a fail…

It may just be cartons glued together. Those cantilevered ones wouldn’t stay up if they were full of soda.
They really should stop monkeying around creating displays like this and get back to work…
His dad used to set up displays too, he’s a chimp off the old block.
Ah, yes. I was bananas for him…
Remember that display he did for the Rhesus pieces?
Yes, but someone in their primate them all before he could finish…
Yeah, I remember gibbon him a hard time about that one.
At least he didn’t gorilla. That would have been a mess!
*longtimenoseesqueeziesforLGBandCJ*
Definitely would have been aped to fail.
*goodtoseeyaagainsqueezeforSuzie*
mmm, buttery
Exactly, simian wasted alot of time on this.
Yes, under the prehensile of creating art…
DO A BARREL ROLL!!
I cant say for sure, but I know Cub Foods (at least the one in my area) does stuff like this all the time. Right now they have ones of ghosts and pumpkins for Halloween.
Who ever thinks the photo’s fake should get a life and go outside to the supermarket
but the supermarket’s inside…
Perhaps some boxes are full and others are empty glued on…
If this is not fotoshopped, then DAMN they put that thing in the wrong place! It’s blocking the entire path 0_0
Shaking head at all the retards who automatically post “shopped”….you know, folks, just because you lack the talent to do anything more creative than type “shopped” into a comment form doesn’t mean that other people aren’t capable of doing creative things IRL. Sad.

gravity fail/soda win woulda been better
lol the people that say this is a shop are not very bright.
OK, follow along people.
Look closely…. the rows where there are cartons “floating” there is a piece of plywood under the row, which the end cartons are resting on. No super glue necessary.
That seems like a good explanation, but I don’t think there’s any plywood.
Do people not realize that failblog has an epic win section to post this stuff?
I call shenanigans! The arms defy the laws of physics!
It’s not fake! I’m pretty positive that photo was taken in G&G supermarket in Santa Rosa, CA! I saw that display in person and thought about taking a photo of it to put on the internets. I guess I should have!
Great!

Empties taped to the sides. It’s real. Seen similar displays done at the store by me that they have done the same thing.
They’re empty. Vendors will send these things to promote their product all the time in grocery stores.
It’s on like Donkey Kong!
Soda Win, Gravity Fail.
Fake.
am i the only one that noticed that the nothings holding up the arms? theres boxes on the side with no boxes under them
shoopped
