Bottom line, every country has a few dumb hicks, but ours tend to get more popular.

Yes no one likes the U. S. That’s why people are willing to travel a thousand miles on foot (1600km), get on a raft and float 90 miles (144km), pay to get shipped here in a container, or hundreds of other things to get a better life. Are we perfect? No. Is the rest of the world perfect? No. But we pay our debts to other countries. We accept anyone that wants to come here.
Many people ARE jealous of the US. That’s why we have an estimated 35,000,000 illegal immigrants. Odds are that we have more people willing to come here, willing to risk deportation, willing to do anything for a better life, than are in your entire country.

For the Computer, the World Wide Web and the Automobile: it was not the USA.
Computer was invented by Konrad Zuse (D), WWW by Tim Berners-Lee (GB) at CERN (CH), and the automobile as we know it in Europe. Only thing Ford contributed was the cheap production.

Actually this is not entirely true, since the Romans copied everything from Ancient Greece. Greece and Egypt were a lot “older” after all, this is why a very important part of the Roman period is called “Greco-Roman world”. Rome didn’t last much after all, the Roman period as we know it lasted approximately almost 500 years. They were a little..unkind as you mention indeed. And brutality, orgies and crazy emperors didn’t help the situation either.

Hey, from an impartial point of view, I can say that the Americans have been very prolific culturally throughout the years. Take in mind country music, jazz and blues which all have their roots back in the US. It’s not about what is popular today, which in all fairness is a load of bull, but their overall contributions to music and literature. Have the Greeks contributed anything in all areas of science and culture in the past thousand years? The answer, I dare say, is probably not. But the world still thinks of that dot on the map as a bastion of civilization.

It may be a fail, but it’s also a screen capture. It’s quite possible this is one of those moving zoom in type shots where the earth underneath is rotating until the location is lined up with the spot. I’d like to see video of this before I consider it a fail.

But the US surely isn’t innovative. Thank god all those things, electricity, televisions, computers, cars…I’m sure nobody in other countries uses these items or considers them to be important towards their quality of life.
And how many of your compatriots were fleeing your countries to get here? Because believe me, they weren’t coming from space. They all came here from your countries. There seemed to have been an obvious appeal.
Now, I’m not saying we haven’t had our share of bad times as a nation, hell, as mentioned, it’s still a very young one. But I don’t see anyone here going on and attacking Germans, French, British, Greek, etc nationalities at anywhere near the verocity you guys come at us. Which is sad, because with no real stake in WWII, we sure as hell came to a lot of your guys aid.

I have a trucker dad stuck in Greece who is not able to go home since the past 3 WEEKS because the truckers are keeping all foreign truckers from moving!!!
