  1. nilo says:

    It’s not a fail, it’s a trick..

  2. fail dude says:

    copying fail

  3. Nanakate says:

I thought that’s how you were supposed to ride it…

  4. Vompatti says:

In Soviet Russia motorcycle rides you!

  5. Macman 1138 says:

It’s really not funny when people get hurt, but when folks do stupid things like this it is hard to have much sympathy for them sometimes.

  6. satsumo says:

Motorbike Jump: You’re doin’ it wrong.

    • Daria says:

Doesn’t the bike land on the moron a few frames later? I seem to remember seeing a video with this dim-bulb getting his unhelmetted head bashed by the bike against the pavement.

    • Marge Gunderson says:

I’ve only ridden dirt bikes a few times and just for fun long ago, so anyone in here who’s an expert, please weigh in:

Isn’t it extremely dangerous to ride with those waist-sized giant wide pant cuffs? I seem to remember rubber banding even our normal jeans cuffs to our legs, especially the right one.

I can think of six different ways that cuff could unnecessarily cost him years of rehab and nightmares.

  7. tyberius says:

What? The guy is holding up a several hundred kilo motorbike in the air. Seems like WIN to me.

    • Loler says:

Impossible. See how far the center of gravity is from the handlebars?
The entire engine, and more than three fourths of the bike’s weight are on one side. If he was holding it up like that, it would just rotate and just might hit him in the, that’s gonna hurt. How many kilos again?

  8. paranoia says:

bike win:bike rides on man :D

  9. Tine says:

    Sunday rewind everyone?

  10. Boot Scoot Chocobo says:

I’m a bit more interested in why that man in the background thought an afro would be his style.

  11. Marita says:

ah that moment of zen in between fails… that doesn’t look like the lightest of bikes…

  12. peter says:

not a fail, the wheels are not spinning, there was no wheelie

    • mr obvious says:

      ummmmmmmm ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It isn’t a video it’s a photo.

      • Lisa says:

The wheels would be blurred at least a little if they were moving. You can see the tread, it’s not blurred at all. This is clearly a bike lift and not a wheelie fail. From the photo, it’s obvious this was not a picture of the guy riding the bike and falling.

        • derp says:

it was a wheelie attempt, the vid is on this site

        • user 6437378 says:

It’s obviously not taken using a crappy camera, such as what you’re obviously used to.

Also, this is a reverse angle still shot of a video that appeared on this site not long ago, so it isn’t a picture of a bloke holding aloft a bike.

          • tyberius says:

Actually, even a crappy camera can do fast shots in a sunny midday situation like this one. The tiny camera in my Sony Ericsson K800 can make moving cars (and their rims) look like they’re standing still in direct sunlight (exposure time 1/500 s or lower). And that’s crappier than any point&shoot.

Also, since the bike’s weight center is way far from the handlebars, the dude would have to apply an insane amount of torque (along with an insane amount of lifting force) to keep that bike still. The lifting force may be doable, the torque I don’t think so.

            • Loler says:

Wait, earlier you said it was possible. Now you aren’t. I have just one question: Is that your final answer?
But yes, even some crappy cameras can get a good photo. He might have just hit the brakes accidentally and flipped over (which would also slow down the tires a lot). There are many explanations, but I highly doubt that the lifting it one is possible.

              • user 6437378 says:

Main thing to remember is THE VIDEO OF THE FAILED WHEELIE IS ALSO HERE. Makes guessing what happened so much easier, as you don’t need to guess.

Also, looks like I’ve always been lumbered with crappy cameras, but I’m not much of a photographer, not tried taking pics of moving cars as I have always found the shutter speeds of cheaper cameras or ones in phones to be useless.

              • tyberius says:

I was making a joke earlier :) I thought it would be obvious that a person can’t hold up a motorbike like that (I can’t even hold up my 10-kilo bicycle like that), so I made a sarcastic comment. I guess that didn’t go across too well in writing :)

user 6-something: Direct, midday sunlight is key here. LOTS more light to work with than even in the late afternoon, when there’s too little light for my cell phone camera to do that.

  13. H3nQ says:

Must be a really strong guy, lifting a bike like that.
