Doesn’t the bike land on the moron a few frames later? I seem to remember seeing a video with this dim-bulb getting his unhelmetted head bashed by the bike against the pavement.
I’ve only ridden dirt bikes a few times and just for fun long ago, so anyone in here who’s an expert, please weigh in:
Isn’t it extremely dangerous to ride with those waist-sized giant wide pant cuffs? I seem to remember rubber banding even our normal jeans cuffs to our legs, especially the right one.
I can think of six different ways that cuff could unnecessarily cost him years of rehab and nightmares.
Impossible. See how far the center of gravity is from the handlebars?
The entire engine, and more than three fourths of the bike’s weight are on one side. If he was holding it up like that, it would just rotate and just might hit him in the, that’s gonna hurt. How many kilos again?
The wheels would be blurred at least a little if they were moving. You can see the tread, it’s not blurred at all. This is clearly a bike lift and not a wheelie fail. From the photo, it’s obvious this was not a picture of the guy riding the bike and falling.
Actually, even a crappy camera can do fast shots in a sunny midday situation like this one. The tiny camera in my Sony Ericsson K800 can make moving cars (and their rims) look like they’re standing still in direct sunlight (exposure time 1/500 s or lower). And that’s crappier than any point&shoot.
Also, since the bike’s weight center is way far from the handlebars, the dude would have to apply an insane amount of torque (along with an insane amount of lifting force) to keep that bike still. The lifting force may be doable, the torque I don’t think so.
Wait, earlier you said it was possible. Now you aren’t. I have just one question: Is that your final answer?
But yes, even some crappy cameras can get a good photo. He might have just hit the brakes accidentally and flipped over (which would also slow down the tires a lot). There are many explanations, but I highly doubt that the lifting it one is possible.
Main thing to remember is THE VIDEO OF THE FAILED WHEELIE IS ALSO HERE. Makes guessing what happened so much easier, as you don’t need to guess.
Also, looks like I’ve always been lumbered with crappy cameras, but I’m not much of a photographer, not tried taking pics of moving cars as I have always found the shutter speeds of cheaper cameras or ones in phones to be useless.
I was making a joke earlier I thought it would be obvious that a person can’t hold up a motorbike like that (I can’t even hold up my 10-kilo bicycle like that), so I made a sarcastic comment. I guess that didn’t go across too well in writing
user 6-something: Direct, midday sunlight is key here. LOTS more light to work with than even in the late afternoon, when there’s too little light for my cell phone camera to do that.
How many kinds of stupid do you have to be to being doing stunts with NO safety equipment at all, not even a helmet. I would like to know what happened in the next 5 seconds, he better have thrown that thing to the side or it was about to get a lot worse He is about 2 seconds away from several hundred pounds of bike getting medieval on his balls.
FAILBLOG: you guys are FAILING HARD. This is a picture taken from the opposite side of the track of the video you posted what – this past week? You know, the one where he’s being warned to put a helmet on and then gets flattened.
It’s not a fail, it’s a trick..
Called “In Your Face!”
Called ” Pain in the ass!”
I didn’t know they made blue jean-style blankets to wear while motor biking.
Its like a snuggy
Just what I’ve dreamed of all my life, a denim Snuggie!
In Soviet Russia…
MOTORBIKE rides YOU!
DAMN! You beat me to it, I was going to say that!
In Soviet Russia THAT say YOU!
You fail at life for going for the most obvious joke
copying fail
I thought that’s how you were supposed to ride it…
The hard part is scooting forwards at 80 mph.
In Soviet Russia motorcycle rides you!
Exactly what needed to be said.
The guy doesn’t look Russian.
Who cares? The joke is appropriate.
Whatever. Just stating the facts.
Doesn’t mean he’s not in Russia.
Also doesn’t mean the bike isn’t riding him, because it clearly is.
It’s really not funny when people get hurt, but when folks do stupid things like this it is hard to have much sympathy for them sometimes.
Motorbike Jump: You’re doin’ it wrong.

Yes guy is a moron for doing stunts while not in safety gear.
What? The guy is holding up a several hundred kilo motorbike in the air. Seems like WIN to me.
Impossible. See how far the center of gravity is from the handlebars?

bike win:bike rides on man
Sunday rewind everyone?
I’m a bit more interested in why that man in the background thought an afro would be his style.
oh wow random, i just noticed that.
Don’t be dissin’ Afro-dude!
Once you see the afro, you really can’t even see the rest of the picture. It’s afro-magnets for your eyes.
^ Exactly- I didn’t notice the motorcycle for like 5 minutes
ah that moment of zen in between fails… that doesn’t look like the lightest of bikes…
not a fail, the wheels are not spinning, there was no wheelie
ummmmmmmm ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. It isn’t a video it’s a photo.

it was a wheelie attempt, the vid is on this site
Indeed
http://failblog.org/2010/09/09/epic-fail-video-wheelie-fail/
It’s obviously not taken using a crappy camera, such as what you’re obviously used to.
Also, this is a reverse angle still shot of a video that appeared on this site not long ago, so it isn’t a picture of a bloke holding aloft a bike.

Must be a really strong guy, lifting a bike like that.
Wheelie fail, or weightlifting win?
A no-wheel wheelie. Pure awesomeness.

How many kinds of stupid do you have to be to being doing stunts with NO safety equipment at all, not even a helmet. I would like to know what happened in the next 5 seconds, he better have thrown that thing to the side or it was about to get a lot worse
He is about 2 seconds away from several hundred pounds of bike getting medieval on his balls.

FAILBLOG: you guys are FAILING HARD. This is a picture taken from the opposite side of the track of the video you posted what – this past week? You know, the one where he’s being warned to put a helmet on and then gets flattened.
If you’re going to complain about that, you may as well just point out that this photo is years old. The question is, who cares?
Not me. I just like funny. And this was really funny. And YOU had to ruin it. Jerk.
This isn’t a fail. It’s just the strongest man on earth.

Ouch, that’s going to leave an epic skid mark
wasn’t that idiot shown on World’s Dumbest Daredevils 4?
inevitable pain ensues
I have to say, I like his expression. He doesn’t look afraid or anything. He just likes like “Oh well, another bike about to hit me,”
