It’s not that big of a fail. Probably someone smashed the monitor and the guy who owns it came up with a quick fix so it could still be played while he located a new monitor. /buzzkill
REVELATION! This made me realize that I don’t need to buy my children a video game console. They’ve been hounding me for a PS3, Wii or Xbox. I think I’ll make ‘em play PC games instead! Thank you, Failblog!
If you set up a system like the one in the pic, though, you may have to monitor what they’re watching on monitor of the monitor … (o screen what shows up on the screen in their screen).
I once had a lesbian couple and one of the lesbians were cheating with a guy. The other lesbian comes home with stink lines and goes to take a bath. Well, the blurred out naked lesbian with stink lines hears her girlfriend and goes to confront her while she’s in bed with a guy. I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
Yeah about that, most the more worthwile games come out only on the actual consoles. Plus, PC games require you to install them onto your computer which could take up a lot of space unless you set up a computer exclusively for computer games. On another note, PC games are prone to lagging depending on what computer you put them on. Also, PC games might require video cards that only really hardcore computer geeks would know where to find. Not to mention, if your kids want a pokemon game or some other game by Nintendo, they’ll need a Nintendo console.
No offense meant dude but wouldnt beating his ass only serve to him resenting you later…let the kid play what he wants…eventually he’ll be introduced to an ACTUAL arcade game
Congratulations failblog, once again you’ve posted a win as a fail, and the comments half prove it, half are full of complete idiots who think doing something awesome is a fail.
Okay, so I agree that this may be a win if this guys personally owns the arcade game; its a fail if it is own by a company for the public to play. Regardless, I want to challenge him –on a console that is in a more original condition.
Yeah it’s really not a fail. Those old arcade machines use VGA so you can swap in any VGA if the tube on the machine goes. Unfortunately the typical arcade machine sized VGA screens are hard to find ever since the “arcade revolution” came to a halt.
Clever way to keep a favorite game running while you wait for a replacement tube.
This is a WIN (maybe) if the guy is a home hobbyist making a MAME cabinet.
But as a repair Tech on Amusement equipment, for me it would be a FAIL. I can (and will) tell you why-
1- get an appropriate monitor and then make a BEZEL to surround all but the actual screen. I could forgive the small screen if they had a bezel, and all it takes is some construction paper or the like to make one.
2- remove the artwork from the sides and make it either generic color, custom, or some artwork that is cool / retro homage to games.
You don’t want artwork on the side for some game that it isn’t- that is just trashy
3- redo the panel with appropriate artwork and also use plexi to protect it. – again this just looks ghetto.
I have a really long name with a bunch of alter-aliases listed and details about myself that no one really cares about hehehehehe arent i annoying and a stereotypical cheezburger poster?? says:
Um. This is a win if I’ve ever seen one. The only thing I would do differently, is get a larger, flatscreen monitor mounted in there. That, and paint the cabinet.
Says the person who saw a photo of a Pump it Up DX cabinet (which usually has a huge projection screen in it) with a Silent Scope monitor replacing it.
Emulator win. It’s better than those stupid screens that are laid almost flat while the window is at a 45 degrees. But if it was originally an arcade machine, then that’s definetely a fail.
ooooh!!! I see it nooow. lol i didnt get it before. I was like “whats wrong with some dude playing an arcade game?” but now i do get it, it’s now even MORE less amusing
It’s innovative if you ask me.
If memory serves me right, this would do well for most inner-geeks.
I need better glasses, it took me a while to see what was wrong.
Maybe you need better video games.
FAIL? only if its public
WIN if he builded him self a home arcade.
I’m guessing that’s what we’re seeing here, particularly a tech win to get the whole cabinet working, pedals, steering wheel and all of the controls
It’s not that big of a fail. Probably someone smashed the monitor and the guy who owns it came up with a quick fix so it could still be played while he located a new monitor. /buzzkill
OH! I see it now… it’s a computer monitor. I was trying to figure out what was wrong with a kid playing a video game. lol.
You know your ghetto if you dont see whats wrong in the first 10 seconds….
It took me like 3 minutes to realize whats wrong because our local arcade pulls this crap all the time >.<
That’s pretty lame looking unless it’s just a temporary fix. You can pretty much just dispense with the arcade and go with the computer.
This game was next to me when I worked at six flags and it made trucking look so rad, that I wanted to quit my job to be a trucker.
Lucky for you, you weren’t next to Frogger.
Not really a fail.
But it could take a spin on “There, I Fixed It.”
That´s definitly a WIN!
REVELATION! This made me realize that I don’t need to buy my children a video game console. They’ve been hounding me for a PS3, Wii or Xbox. I think I’ll make ‘em play PC games instead! Thank you, Failblog!
Don’t make them play Quicken. BO-ring.
But I’m sure they could really Excel at that!
Word!
They’d need Access to all this stuff.
If you set up a system like the one in the pic, though, you may have to monitor what they’re watching on monitor of the monitor … (o screen what shows up on the screen in their screen).
Depends on your Outlook.
Word, yo.
*shrug* I don’t mind looking different for leaving OneNote.
should this make to digg/reddit did it make to FrontPage?
You might want to stay away from World of Warcraft too. It’s expensive and addicting.
Try homework games, kids love those!
*snicker*
Don’t let them play Sims. My kids drive me nuts with that stupid nonesense.
ROFL!!!! Are they supposed to die?
It takes a lot for them to die but I’ve managed it.
Maybe you could stand to skip a couple of episodes of Dexter.
i ..<
grr. failblog didn’t like my post.
in short, drowning sims is quite fun too

So basically, revelation FAIL.
I was actually thinking more along the lines of Solitaire and Minesweeper. LOL!
Riiiiiiight, because those will keep the kids entertained for HOURS on end.
Reminds me of the World of World of Warcraft …
That looks like a computer running MAME in an arcade cabinet, and I’d call that a WIN
Would be great if It was bulletproof. Ya know, angry gamers.
What kind of neighborhood do you live in?
The addicted can get a little irrational.
Biggest fail there is the game he’s emulating…
As long as he’s happy…
You Fail at Failing! this is awesome.
This is not a fail. Being able to rig an arcade cabinet with the controls to play on a PC takes some skill, and therefore deserves a great big WIN.
Seconded! People used to use these cabines for old videogames, why not computer games?
that would make an awesome pron chinema
HAHAHAHHAHAHHAAHHA LOL OMG No life
Hey…. Isn’t that big rigs over the road racing??
The dude playing is smiling…must at least be awesome to him, isnt that what matters?…
If I were this kid’s father, I’d kick his sorry ass and put him down in front of a REAL arcade machine.
No offense meant dude but wouldnt beating his ass only serve to him resenting you later…let the kid play what he wants…eventually he’ll be introduced to an ACTUAL arcade game
warning: you’re being monitored!
Ouch! You shouldn’t hit people with those.
Congratulations failblog, once again you’ve posted a win as a fail, and the comments half prove it, half are full of complete idiots who think doing something awesome is a fail.
at first i was like “……???” then i saw the computer and ROFLD
wow, this is a total fail
Okay, so I agree that this may be a win if this guys personally owns the arcade game; its a fail if it is own by a company for the public to play. Regardless, I want to challenge him –on a console that is in a more original condition.
It’s a normal arcade game. Is there something I don’t see?
id play on that.
No, this is sweet. Not a fail.

Just my $1.25.
@Warehouseman- you don’t know what ur talkin’ about.
Not VGA – EGA – 25k resolution is medium res. Then before that 15K is standard.
And those monitors are easy to get, but they aren’t cheap- about $400 or thereabouts, depending. go to happcontrols.com or similar.
I will just take it as a comment from someone who THINKS they know, but doesn’t.
16+ yrs experience has the correct answer.
Um. This is a win if I’ve ever seen one. The only thing I would do differently, is get a larger, flatscreen monitor mounted in there. That, and paint the cabinet.
This is more of a kludge than a fail.
Says the person who saw a photo of a Pump it Up DX cabinet (which usually has a huge projection screen in it) with a Silent Scope monitor replacing it.

“understanding fail” fail
This is an Arcade Win if you ask me.
Aesthetics fail, controller win!
D
When budget lacks
I dont see a damn fail in this.
I know what you mean, but no its not a fail.
Dude, this is an epic kludge! It’s also a WIN, not a fail. You fail at failing.
ooooh!!! I see it nooow. lol i didnt get it before. I was like “whats wrong with some dude playing an arcade game?” but now i do get it, it’s now even MORE less amusing
failblog fail @ being funny yet again
look at the reflection of the guy face. he is completely happy and this this is surely not a win.
