Definitely not a fail.
Prankster lays trap, trap springs, victim is enraged.
A fail would have been if there was some unexpected consequence, like the victim knocking over the camera stand, breaking the lens, and perhaps causing other damage.
This isn’t even a win.
Assuming it’s HIS camera and not hers, this would also be a good way for her to get it through his thick skull that she’s not amused by his little jokes.
Well if she broke her back during the incident, it’s a fail.

No, mitigating circumstances for a person losing their temper and taking you out. To the point where they should be excused from punishment.
Saying “I wouldn’t blame her or think she should be punished if she went berserk and killed you” isn’t the same as saying “you should be executed by the state.” As you very well know.

How do you know? Seriously how do you know he is ‘abusive’. You claim to be empathetic, but that doesn’t make you psychic. Empathy means reading emotions and feeling them. I have empathy, it hurts me physically to watch that video, but still I don’t know if he does that all the time. Don’t claim something you don’t know.

Just so. This is a prank, and it’s a stupid one and a bad idea, but I don’t think that’s what we’ve come to understand as a FAIL. The prank was a complete success, assuming the guy (I’m pretty sure it was a guy) who set it up wanted to frighten, anger, and possibly injure the woman who was its victim.
I sure hope she completely cut him out of her life after this. Being abused is bad enough, but having your abuser put film of it up on YouTube is beyond the pale.
i put saran wrap on the toilet once… it seemed like a funny prank at the time, floating pee poo. until i had to be the one to clean it up…

My aunt supposedly did that to the toilet in a teachers’ lounge when she was a kid. She also apparently baked brownies with exlax and handed them out at a movie theater. I had a friend seran wrap a friends car with an industrial roll. Replace the deodorant in someone’s roll on with cream cheese, just don’t do anything that has a real chance of doing lasting harm.
This prank is a bad idea. You could seriously hurt someone’s neck this way.
I’d agree. The version I’ve usually heard of this prank involves saran wrapping the whole door; they’ll walk into it and bounce off, instead of getting whiplashed.
