Actually, I think it’s supposed to be an option: Either keep the rabbit for a pet, or make the aforementioned Peter Rabbit Stew with it. That’s just a guess, though.

Actually, it’s VERY nutritious. Very high protein, low fat, low cholesterol and all white meat. Actually one of the healthiest meats out there. Tastes darn good too.
Reminds me of the old Michael Moore movie “Roger & Me” (about GM moving plants out of Flynt) where he interviews a recently laid off lady making ends meet by selling rabbits. Like this, the buyer gets to choose if its to be dinner or a pet. Best part is when he asks her what her dream job is and she says, “a vet,” right as she clubs and skins a still twitching bunny (the last buyer had chosen “dinner.”)
When we had pet rabbits the first line in the rabbit care handbook we bought read “Rabbits make great pets, pies, and petticoats.” I’ll never forget that.
Shocker Number 2? Your adorable pet piggy is made out of PORK!!!
This site loves to call things “fail” when it’s pretty clear the person doing whatever it is knows very well what they’re doing. They do it all the time, and it’s irritating. Case in point, this one. He was being tongue-in-cheek, he didn’t care whether you wanted to cook the things or have them as pets. “fail” implies something ironic – something accidentally funny. The tag on this one should just say “mildly amusing sign.”
Because someone is offended that animals that are soft and cuddly might also be tasty, and that someone who raises them for money might not particularly care for which reason a customer is buying one.
Actually, as Samme said, rabbit has very poor nutritional value. Protein aside, like some other ‘game’ meats (including some poultry), rabbit actually takes more energy (in kilojoules (kj)) to digest that it returns in nutritional value. So, in effect, if all you ate was rabbit, you would starve to death. So in fact this is most definitely a fail, as rabbit really isn’t nutritious, as demonstrated.
Whilst you may have the data of what it gives you, do you have the data on what it takes to digest? No. So how is this counter-acting my point? It takes energy to digest rabbit which it doesn’t give enough back of, only protein. And you whilst you need protein, you also need energy in kj…
See RabbitEater’s post below for more detailed evidence.
I just looked at the website… rabbit is actually really high in iron and B12, higher than beef. Would you please explain what it is about game meat that makes it harder to digest than domesticated animal meat? Obviously people in america aren’t starving to death eating diets high in meat.
Which website are you referring to? See RabbitEater’s post below if you’re referring to Obsyd’s source…
And is everyone eating rabbit in America? I think not. More likely they’re eating a mixture of mainly beef and pork. Most of it from places like McDonalds. *facepalm*
Rabbit is generally a ‘wild’ meat, as we have stated, and whilst I’m not familiar with how it is more difficult to digest, as I’m informed on these matters by a friend of mine who’s a micro-biologist, I believe its something to do with the fact that many game meats are non-domesticated, and therefore aren’t protected and fed by farmers, and as such their meat is ‘tougher’. But don’t quote me on that until I’ve checked vis a vis my micro-biologist…
Rabbit meat does not contain enough nutrition to keep a human alive – if you eat ONLY rabbit meat, you will die of malnourishment. A diet of only rabbit can lead to starvation/death.
And who is going to eat a diet of just rabbit? Get real. It’s high protein, low fat and low cholesterol. A diet of just any one thing can lead to malnourishment and death.
Yep. That’s a fail. They aren’t just nutritious; they’re delicious. And I’m gonna have one in my crock pot before friday since it keeps eating my vegetables.
I beg to differ on this one. I think this is a win. They may have misspelled a few things but I’m totally okay with selling bunnies for both food and pets. When one gets out of line, you simply eat it. >:D

Peter Rabbit better stay well away from this place, or he’ll end up as rabbit stew.
Om nom nom. Delicious at that.
I assume the Fail in here is the little word “or”.
Should be cuddly and nutritious
I will never eat my pets again…
Actually, I think it’s supposed to be an option: Either keep the rabbit for a pet, or make the aforementioned Peter Rabbit Stew with it. That’s just a guess, though.
You forgot tasty
You can buy this fluffy little guy if you want to… isn’t he cute? If you don’t, he’s going to be tasty with a Coco Vin sauce tonight.
He’s so fluffy. Look at those eyes. $3.99 a pound right now.
the only fail here was misspelling “cuddly”
you is sooooo right
What’s Coco Vin sauce? Did you mean Coq Au Vin?
Which is a chicken sauce. Hence the ‘coq’.
But I want my nutrition to be cuddly too!
*pouts*
Scotty, have you been playing with your food again?
Oh….dear.
That gives a whole new meaning to the term “cuddle puddle” and I really didn’t want to think about it after all those shots on the lying thread.
Can we just gnaw on them a little bit?
….*nibble!*
*giggles*
One of our kittehs likes to nibble on toes and fingers. We call her “Cannibal Kitty.”
I always felt that failfriends feed the soul.
*squeezes out some nutrients*
Good nutrition for the heart!
*cuddles*
*hands out cuddly, fake rabbits*
*experiments*
It’s not a cannibal Kitty.
Failfriends are NOT food!!!
SQUEEEEEEEEE! Look at the pretty birdy!
*super duper birdysqueeze*
*SQUEEEEEEEZE*
It’s good to be back!
bunnies, cats, and dogs are food too… so stop being so “humain”
Yea I want both
yea verily they multiply
It says quite clearly OR, so you can get cuddly ones or ones that are nutritious.
Maybe if we pay extra we can get ones that are both? Or we could just use some gaffer tape…
But you can have both! It’s “OR” which means “a or b or both”. If the critter could be only one it would be “cuddly XOR nutritious”!
taste like chicken
I’ll bet this is that woman from Rodger and Me.
I forget the scene … can you hum a few frames
Oops, that’s Roger and Me, not Rodger and Me.
Roger, Roger, More Rabbit.
Nope, different movie.
Cuddly Roger Moore or Nutritious Roger Rabbit?
(ah heck … I’ve mixed up James Bond and Michael Moore and Jessica Rabbit and Airplane! … )
The guy that plays the banjo
Keeps on handing me the old crow,
Which multiplies my sorrows, i can’t take it anymore!!
Actually, the Roger from GM.
I think this discussion is FAILblog worthy in and of itself.
“Roger & Me” – a documentary by Michael Moore about GM shutting down its plant in Flint, Michigan and pretty much destroying the town in the process since it was THE industry there. At one point he talks with a woman who breeds & sells rabbits for “Pets or Meat” (as her sign says). A graphic butchering scene there. chewing your cud?
Cuddly, or nutritious?
YOU be the judge!
Boba Fett also considers this a “Man makes his own destiny” win.
Thank you Boba Fett, my thoughts exactly.
You are very welcome, earth nomad.
The sequel to Roger and Me was called Pets or Meat. Is the fail that this is too oblique, or that it’s 30 years late?
http://www.wwnorton.com/college/film/movies2/ch/01/images/roger_pets_or_meat.jpg
Cuddly or nutritious….cuddly or nutritious….cuddly or nutritious
Too many choices!!!
*head asplodes*
NOOOOOOOOOO!
*drops to knees, sobbing*
It’s ok, G….it was a spare head. You know we’ve got ‘em lying about like dead flies in the lab
*stops crying*

*looks at Lab Monkey*
*squeeze*
*skaweeeze*
What? It’s an extra-happy-end-of-the-day-skaweeeze. I let her go!! Sheesh
Oh, don’t worry…she was just tinkering with one of BFF’s clones! She is a lab monkey, yanno.
Clones?!? I forgot about the clones! Oh MY! I’m so gonna have fun with the clones!!!
Bwahahahaha
Erp…!
I’ve always wanted a clone of my very own…I’ll name him George and hug him and squeeze him and love him…
*squeezes her favorite dragon*
*does a happy dance*
Gracie; posting from her phone,
Well, no wonder you didn’t answer my calls! Just wanted to let you know that you’ve been accepted!
Cuddley? Maybe. Nutritious? I think not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC2RYiaM6WU
YES! I came here to inform people too!!
Rabbit is not nutritious really! haha
Actually, it’s VERY nutritious. Very high protein, low fat, low cholesterol and all white meat. Actually one of the healthiest meats out there. Tastes darn good too.
Clearly this sign fails…it should read:
Cuddly, THEN nutritious.
Unless you’re pointing out the spelling error, then this is a win. Stop labelling wins as fails!
Hear hear! Huzzah! What JW said!
Reminds me of the old Michael Moore movie “Roger & Me” (about GM moving plants out of Flynt) where he interviews a recently laid off lady making ends meet by selling rabbits. Hey Dragon? Got anymore of those shots?
I like to bite the ears off first.
White rabbit.
Whatever it did, it did it all.
What’s wrong with the sign?
When we had pet rabbits the first line in the rabbit care handbook we bought read “Rabbits make great pets, pies, and petticoats.” I’ll never forget that.
Shocker Number 2? Your adorable pet piggy is made out of PORK!!!
i vote win!
Me too!
Spelling fail, cuddle win.

anyway /endrant
This annoys me too. It really brings down the quality of FailBlog.
It annoys me when retarded people throw around the “ironic” wrongly.
Also, “end” is exactly what ‘/’ means, dumb ass.
/rant
Yeah, that too.
stupes! aurite!
Why isn’t this a WIN?
Because someone is offended that animals that are soft and cuddly might also be tasty, and that someone who raises them for money might not particularly care for which reason a customer is buying one.
So why isn’t this a WIN?
For goodness sake, Failblog is going downhill, so many Wins marked as Fails.
is a spongeringer like an intimate shamwow?
This is neither. It’s just mildly entertaining.
….or sexy
I just find it odd they could spell nutritious correctly, but misspelt cuddly.
WIN, straight to the point!
i’d call this a win!
Vlaamse Reus (Flemish Giant) is nutritious.
“Pooltje” or “Hollandertje” (little Polish or Dutch) is cuddly. Not worthy of the lunch.
Flemish are too much bone to meat ratio. Much better meat breeds out there.
you wascally wabbit!
And this is not a fail how?
sorry, I meant to say this should be a win
Win!!
Apart from protein, rabbit has pretty much no nutritional value.
NOMM…NOMM…NOMM…NOMM…NOMM…NOMM… Bugs Bunny Fails Again…
Rabbits are actually quite fairly good to eat. The celts and all sorts of people used to eat them
My butchers sells them next to the squirrels, wood pigeons and game birds.

The Scientist, Not sure where your getting your data.. But you might want to recheck it.
Rabbit (wild) 100g – Protein 33 Fat 4 Calories 173
Beef (Grass fed-ground)- 100g- Protein 19 Fat 13 Calories 115

So true…. WIN!

This is why I don’t eat Lobster anymore. I used to race them on the kitchen floor before eating them.
Run away! Run away! Killer rabbit.
please, Failblog, please… stop labeling wins as fails
I can’t see how this is fail. Is it failure to include “delicious”?
That is so wrong! Total FAIL!
(Cuddly is misspelled)
Ah, I see what the fail is. It’s obviously asking a question, yet there is no question mark.
It’s a valid question!
Both is true.
Haha, I’ve taken pictures of that sign myself.
Cuddly? We all know rabbits are deadly creatures who’ll go after your neck and bite your head off.
They have a mean streak a mile wide.
This sign is on the Southwest Corner of Michigan Route 66 and Holland Lake Road in Montcalm County, about 2 miles North of Sheridan, MI.
And .. they are both cuddly and nutritious!
Cuddle cuddle… NOM!
have you ever eat rabbit meat grilled with sweet soy sauce? it’s delicious and nutritious, but they are too cute for being grilled
Stop petting our food
Yep. That’s a fail. They aren’t just nutritious; they’re delicious. And I’m gonna have one in my crock pot before friday since it keeps eating my vegetables.
if god didnt want us to eat rabbits, he would have made them taste like tofu. (its a joke for all of those who dont believe in god)
I beg to differ on this one. I think this is a win. They may have misspelled a few things but I’m totally okay with selling bunnies for both food and pets. When one gets out of line, you simply eat it. >:D
It’s ok, Gracie…it was a spare head! We have them lying about like dead flies in the lab!
Stupid hotel connection, posting twice! Grrrr!
