I must reply logically. Clearly that floor is closed. Clearly there must be a cropped blockoff of said escalator during said floor closure. My best guess.
In this case, though, fake is obviously correct.
If anyone thinks that someone really built an escalator that stops against a solid wall they’re away with the fairies.
This one may not be a true fail, but we have seen plenty here that are – like the stairwell handrail across a door that was on here recently. Or stairs that end at a wall. Are the people who design and/or build these things really so vacant that they don’t notice? Or just too apathetic to care? It’s a complete mystery to me how those situations happen.

Also agreed. It’s a temporary, movable wall/barrier. You can see the metal edge on the right of the image and a black edge near the top, it’s clearly not a normal wall. Neither fail nor fake. Above comments are observation fail.
Are you some sort of rtrd? You can blatantly see a ‘work’ wall, where they are doing some work… and the fact the metal plate goes under the wall.
I have seen an escalator like this. I really don’t understand how something like that can happen but I took a picture very similar to this one so no, I don’t think it’s a fake.

No need to wonder – it looks like a temporary, moveable wall that they put up in malls when a store closes or they are redecorating. Not a good enough picture to judge for sure – but certainly not a good fail.
It’s real. I saw tsomething similar at an airport. The area is under a remodeling job. The wall at the end of esculator is a temporary structure used to keep dust and debris in an enclosed area. You can see the black top of the temporary wall in the top right of picture, and there is a sizable gap at the bottom of the wall. That’s proof it is a real picture of a movable temporary wall at the bottom of an esculator!!!

It is. It’s one of those temp walls they put up when they build stuff. They did the same thing at the mall I worked at building an escalator. So yeah not really a fail

They put that wall there on purpose to block escalator access. This is not a fail.

It kinda makes sense. Jumping over the fence burn all the calories, that you didn’t loose by choosing an escalator.
im pretty sure i know where this is and its blocking off the rest of a store because they bought it and didnt want to do anything with the tiny second level. this is a major fail by the person who took this. its a freaking TARP not a wall

They do this stuff all the time. It is simply to block access to something that is under construction or renovations. Not a fail at all.

You all fail… it’s not a wall. It’s a temporary barrier, either cloth or paper draped over a metal frame (which you can see on the right hand side. You can also see the shadow cast by the barrier towards the top of the photo.

Finally, someone saw that! Cloth or paper curtain. Looks like there is some pressure behind it causing it to billow.

It’s not shopped. It’s just that they decomissioned that scalator without removing it, and then later built that wall that abuts the end of that escalator.

That’s actually a temporary partition put up to prevent people from using the escalator during constuction or remodeling. The only fail here is by whomever uploaded the pic.
