  1. Strange Taco says:

    Ohai there

  2. helvete! says:

    Who is Metal Man?

    • FailScout says:

A robot Master from MegaMan 2

    • f says:

      a rip off movie star

    • Mr.Anonymous says:

It’s just the german translation of the movie. :)

      • SpyOne says:

No, it clearly isn’t: different look, different cast, not a single actor from Iron Man appears on that box cover. this is one of those movies that trades on confusion: it kinda looks like, and kinda sounds like, a more famous film.

      • bla says:

it isnt, its still iron man

      • AndyHex says:

It’s not Iron Man. Metal Man is one of the trend of ‘mockbusters’ that gets made and released just before the cinema release of big budget features. Other examples include: Transmorphers, Transmorphers: Fall Of Man, The Day The Earth Stopped, etc… Look up a production company called ‘The Asylum’ and discover some truly tacky flicks. Hell, they even did a High School Musical type thing!

      • TheDutchin says:

Mr. Anonymous is right its clearly the german translation look at the box people “OMG IRON GOT CHANGED TO METAL WHEN IT CHANGED LANGUAGES!!!!” its just the german translation guys no fail here :(

        • Kren says:

No. It’s a mockbuster film. Iron Man is still Iron Man in german.

        • Patte says:

Since when is “Metal Man” German? How could a German translation (which would be “Eisenmann” for “Iron Man” – despite the fact that the movie title wasn’t translated anyways) consist of English words? o_O

          • Eleventh Doctor says:

The more you know: When the comics were first published in Germany, Iron Man was known as “Der Eiserne” (The Iron One), along with “The X-Men” “Gruppe X” (Group X), “Spider-Man” “Die Spinne” (The Spider) and so on and so forth. However, during the ninetees, all Superheroes’ names reverted back to their original names with the exception of “The Mighty Avengers”, who only had that name on the covers and were known as “Die ruhmreichen Rächer” (The glorious Avengers) inside. Iron Man was never known as Metal Man in Germany. This is indeed a mockbuster.

  3. jeroen says:

    FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. grorg says:

    german ftw :)

  5. Crimsonkey says:

    First.

  6. Brevityis says:

Is this a movie or a video game?

    Because if it’s a movie:

It’s not a fail, it’s not even the right movie. Metal Man’s head isn’t the right shape for Iron Man, though it’s clearly an imitation. Not to mention, not one of those people in the bottom looks familiar. Parody?

    • Erik says:

That’s why its a f uuuuuuucccki ng fail, ya idiot. Also, Failblog commenters (self excluded) are the most idiotic commenters anywhere!

      • gas station bathroom says:

        So mockbuster = fail?

        • Billiam says:

Mockbuster = win. They’re sooo f-in’ fun XD
My only problem is they’re priced roughly the same as the actual movies :/

      • loler27 says:

Wow. Got fireproof gear? ‘Cause you’re about to get flamed! Are you serious? You have no business calling people idiots. (sarcasm—> And I love how you say “self exluded” You pretty much said “I am the smartest person here, and you are all complete and total RETARDS!!!”. You deserve to be trolled. Calling all trolls! You have complete clearance to troll Erik! Troll at will! NO MERCY!

        • Erik says:

YAY TROLLS. MAYBE YOU CAN GET /B/

          • some dude says:

hmm, brings to mind rule 31

lulz, isn’t he cute, little 8 year old thinks he’s all grown up with the swearing and the “tough talk”.

Kids these days, always want attention, in whatever way they get it. Don’t worry chum, maybe someone irl will love you and see that you have value, in spite what your mother tells you.

      • RobertB says:

        A little hostile, aren’t you?

      • No says:

        Youtube people fail hard.

      • Sortech says:

If it’s ment to be a parody, how is this a fail? O.o

      • win machine says:

right dude. thats why i got 1st in my state in math competition. 24 on ACT in the 7th grade. don’t be hating on people that don’t deserve it. most people who look like they do are just trying to annoy you anyway (and it worked). You just made yourself look like 1 of the biggest idiots and deserve to be flamed. Come here to have fun and if you don’t then don’t complain and ruin everyone else’s.

        • Hoss says:

Ok “win” machine. Arrogance doesn’t exactly trump arrogance, champ. You should have pretty much deleted your first three sentences to give your retort some credibility…

      • Captain Obvious says:

No, I think you can safely include yourself, troll.

    • Bru says:

      http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1233217/

It’s not a Parody. It’s one of those cheap knockoff films that you see in the cheap dvd pile that they make to get some money from a big name blockbuster hit. Yeah, the head isn’t the exact same shape, why would it be? If they did that, they’d be sued, and lose all of the money they made from people too stupid to tell the difference between a blockbuster and a knockoff.

      • jensalik says:

        yeah right – knockoff…
like metal man – the comic which was published since 1962 was a knockoff off iron man which “original new idea” came into stan lees mind as early as 1963…

        • Sortech says:

If you’re thinking of the comic Metal MEN, a comic about a GROUP of Robot superheroes… It has nothing to do with this. Iron Man and Metal Men have actually nothing in common.. Metal Men are robots, Iron Man is Tony Stark in a suit.. So please stop spamming..

    • K says:

It’s a Movie and it’s not a parody .. the subtitle down there means :
half man, half machine, a true hero ..
this 12 FSK thing means Freiwillige SelbstKontrolle = voluntary self control .. that’s only for movies. for games it is USK ..means Unterhaltungssoftware SelbstKontrolle = amusement software self control… as movie or videogame maker you gotta do that in germany to define the age you can play the game or watch the movie with..

    • Gravity's Rambo says:

“though it’s clearly an imitation” YA THINK?

  7. FailScout says:

His Heart is made of Melru! :D

  8. zerosympathy says:

    wow…..

  9. Elias says:

He Got something in his face

  10. seemslegit says:

This seems 100% legit to me

  11. Phantom 14 says:

    Iron Man’s 3rd Partner LOL!

  12. Tim says:

    Come on people, get real.

What’s next? Calling Robocop fail because it’s also about a guy in a metal suit? RoboCop could have been named Robo Man after all.

    • Vegeta says:

Yeah, except what we are talking about here is an obvious knockoff of a current movie franchise. I mean it’s called METAL MAN and he has a VERY IRON MAN LOOKING SUIT. Get the idea of the fail?

      • Scott says:

No actually a lot of us don’t. Crap != fail.

      • jensalik says:

except that iron man is in fact a ripp off of metal man…

stan lee copied a concept that actually was published since 1962.

and the movies launched the same year, so it would be hard for one to ripp off the other.

        • XaceBefree says:

Stop saying Iron Man is a “ripp off” of Metal Man. There is no comic called Metal Man… there is one called Metal Men about a team of robots that started in 1962. There is a big difference between a scientist that created a group of robots and a weapons manufacturer creating a suit of armor to save his life.

  13. N says:

    can you say copyright infringement?

  14. Tollan says:

    Some number!! er… maybe23rd> erm… no… *counts* er… FIRST!!

  15. Squirrel says:

Anyone else think that looks like Luke Skywalker?

  16. imouse1 says:

That was my first guess, too.

  17. Jeff says:

Actually, whenever a successful movie comes out, a smaller studio makes a ripoff version it hoping it’ll confuse people into buying it. This happens all the time in the film industry. Source: I’m in the film industry.

  18. Masha says:

Too bad it’s not Man-O-Steel Man.

  19. poindexte|2 says:

    What……
    the hell

  20. thetaiwanguy says:

does any one think the title looks like star wars a bit?
the main character looks a little like luke skywalker.

  21. ZombiezuRFER says:

its like a sci fi channel original

  22. SparcMan says:

    What? Why don’t I?

    Ok… fair enough…

  27. Bob-H says:

    I am Synonym Man !!!!!

  28. Dr. Dietmar Posselt says:

This happens if a special effects technican becomes a movie director for the first time: 2.1 points on IMDB.

  29. Aicona says:

It’s more of a copy fail than a title fail, isn’t it. But such copies fail most of the time so I don’t see the big fun.

  30. Frank says:

Trash, sure. But FAIL? Anything about “Metal man” I don’t get as a non-native speaker?

  31. SpecterM91 says:

Is that from The Asylum? Because if so, it’s not really a fail, it’s exactly what they’re going for. They’re the gods of knockbusters.

  32. Corbin says:

Ok let me clear this up for everyone metal man was a japanese show back in the day it was really famous and a great success, so I guess they tried to make a movie out of it, in the end it wasent the greatest so all in all
    this fail=failed movie.

  33. Melvazord says:

  42. deedee13 says:

That’s just Iron Man German version

  43. Anireason says:

Wow. Film production companies like these are really the worst and still going strong in Hollywood. Making VERY cheap knock offs of big budget films with titles (and cover art) different enough not to warrant a lawsuit in the US and similar enough that when translated into other languages that have fewer words than English, they’ll be the same as the film they mean to steal sales from. The original studio loses overseas sales and the consumer is stuck with a fraudulent product. No one wins, but the swindler. Yuck.

    • jensalik says:

iron man – the comic is a ripp off of metal man (published by dc a year before stan lee had that idea *yeah*)

both films were finished in 2008 not even half a year in between – impossible for one to ripp off the other.

  44. zappafrank says:

I saw that Scott Levy was in it, and was all like, “Cool, Raven!” Different guy, though. :(

    Count Smokula, Count Chocula…

  45. evil flip says:
