  1. Sjaak de Draak says:

    First

  2. Will says:

Microsoft and Apple are like water and oil…they should know that already.

    • dannifoley says:

You gotta love the irony though!

      • ThisSiteSucksNow says:

I hope you understand that you can run windows on an Apple now (for quite some time actually)….

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this picture….

        • Mikee says:

Are you sure it doesn’t mean anything? I could have sworn there was an entire ad campaign about how people shouldn’t use Windows because of it’s many flaws and should use Mac’s instead. Yet the company that makes Mac’s uses Windows. If you don’t understand that irony, please call your internet service provider and ask them to cancel your account.

          • Jono says:

At&T don’t make macs, apple make macs. it’s at an At&T store so its their display not apples.

            • Kleeman says:

Its the display that is suppose to show the features of an iPhone. That is why it is in the iPhone display.

          • Nick says:

            That’s an AT&T store.

AT&T doesn’t make Macs. Apple does

Apple doesn’t use Windows, that’s for sure.

            • RX7 says:

How can you be sure Apple doesn’t use windows for their advert displays. Maybe the software was written for Win instead of Mac. Everything about the iPhone is old tech repackaged with a new name so idiots think they invented it, so why not go for the gold and say putting MS on Mac’s was their idea?

            • ian says:

dude apple does use windows… they just wont say it. but they still run Microsoft and windows

              • drumrobot says:

                That’s really not true.
Ignoring the fact that Microsoft is a company, not an operating system, your comment is still untrue.
However, Microsoft HAS used OS X for things like its “I’m a PC” campaign (gotta love that irony), and yes, it has been proven.

            • pollo says:

Apple use a lot windows in the development area, for example in the design of A4 and the design of some sophisticate firmware for ARM the use windows computers and macs running windows . You need windows and Linux for low level programing.

            • billq says:

Yes they do i work for them we use Windowns to manage our profits

          • JJtoob says:

The fact that this is an AT&T store aside, Apple did have an anti-Windows campaign, but as their users have wanted to test the Windows OS in Mac hardware, Apple had to allow it, but it didn’t mean they like it. Same thing with iPods/iPhones now being legally jailbroken, Apple allows it now, but doesn’t mean they approve of the procedure.

            • Danny says:

They don’t allow it. The government does. It still voids your warranty.

              • Alexander R says:

They have always been legal. The iPhone legal terms within the phone itself say that modification of the firmware is legal and that the user is granted access. Even if it isn’t, that’s bullshi* because I bought the damn thing, and if I want to do something wiffit, I will.

              • cyrviana says:

Of course it does. By jailbreaking, you could damage your phone. If you do that, it’s not their fault.

        • Delaterius says:

What’s wrong with the picture is the fact that even people who sell Apple products know that Apple’s operating system sucks. They’ll tell you all kinds of truthy things about the awesomeness of Apple products when you walk in the store, but behind the scenes, that’s not where they put their trust.

  3. mike c. says:

Second!!! I am so happy, will try to be the first next time!!

  4. Sarah says:

    /AHAAHAAHAAHAA

  5. HAHA says:

I love it, even Apple wont trust there Crap to run something as simple as a Display video… YES Windows is everywhere, and it is more stable, and works with anything. get use to it.

    • brother of chronos says:

Yes windows is everywhere. You got that bit right.

      Like a rash…

No I don’t like apple; they’re just as bad, just in a different way.

    • dannifoley says:

You make a valid point, but it is undermined by your misuse of the word “there” instead of “their”. I guess I’ll just get used to it. :P

    • bob says:

this isn’t apple, this is a reseller apple display, apple purely use mac pros for all there own installed video.

    • Correction says:

wrong, you ment to say Apple is more stable…! Thats ok, we all make a mistake (that coming from a windows engineer)

    • Heidi says:

No … this was at *ATT*.

It’s ATT who chose the crappy operating system.

    • Andrei says:

I wonder, what operating system you use?
I bet it’s Windows or Mac OS. It’s more user friendly. UNIX is too much trouble for you
If you’re all so smart why do not you create the perfect system.
But I bet you have not seen in your life one line of code.
I admit this picture is suck’s for appel.
But get a life, a girl friend, boy friend and shut up.

      • Eric says:

        1) You are aware that Mac OS X is based off of UNIX.
        2) Isn’t having a user-friendly operating system sort of a good thing, in every possible sense? And if you’re trying to defend Mac OS, why would you mention it in the evil “user friendly” category?
        3) It’s somewhat doubtful you have a life, “girl friend”, or “boy friend”.

    • Breal says:

You know nothing. I’m an admin if over 500 pcs. 500 macs and 60 servers. I have a unix background. Mac is way better

  6. Oulumor says:

I’m awaiting a no-end debate about computers here!

  7. FailTownBurger says:

    A good old fashioned fail

Apple inc . ( powered by Microsoft )

  8. Robert says:

This would be a lot funnier if it was actually at a Mac Store. But nonetheless, even the Mac stores likely have to run windows because software manufactures know Mac is not widely popular and won’t develop heavily on it.

    • Nick says:

Apple stores run everything on Macs.

At&T stores sell much more than iPhones, and their retail outlets were setup long bfore they sold iPhones, thus were likely to be PC based.

The thing I find hilarious is that so many people are trying to see this as an Apple fail they are’t getting the fact that this is CLEARLY Windows that failed to run properly, and thus left their display showing a floating Windows icon instead of what it was intended to show.

  9. sarpent1 says:

    I call shenanigans.

  10. David says:

AT&T… failure for people who don’t live in a big city.

  11. Dave says:

Somewhere in the mall, a store is missing it’s genius bar.

  12. W3R3W00F says:

The fact it’s in an At&t store makes this situation believable. :P

  13. Eric says:

this doesn’t look like an apple store… lol

  14. Kevin says:

Not too sure why an AT&T store that uses Windows for their displays is a fail…

    • Acies says:

maybe this should be on Friends of Irony instead?

Or maybe this is a fail because the display is not showing us anything that would ever appear on an Apple iPhone?

  15. Heidi says:

At least it wasn’t an Apple store.

  16. Dr Feel Good says:

i always knew windows XP had something to do with the iphone

    • cyrviana says:

Just like how the US Government has “something to do with” Islamic terrorists by being on the same planet.

  17. George Kingfish Stevens says:

    PC > Mac

  18. Toph says:

    WIN!!!!!!!

  19. Why Chu Need My Name says:

LOL… This is funny… ATT probably had an issue with purchasing Macs for their new stores due to the high cost.

  20. AmEv says:

    Double fail.

    1) Windoz in an Apple display.
    2) Not knowing how to rotate a display properly.

  21. Saunuku says:

i knew there was something wrong with the mac PC debate. I’m glad they have compromised.

  22. IMPREZ says:

    mutation

  23. anon says:

    Screensaver FAIL

  24. Mike says:

I would use a knife and cut the cord so it did not say windows anymore!!! FAIL 100%

  25. Lisa says:

    Hahaha, I love this.

And just to tidy up some arguments, Macs can have a Windows emulator :)

    • pollo says:

Is not emulation is virtualization is totally different.
Is whit boot camp, actually I delete completely mac os and installed windows and now I don’t need boot camp, I have the instructions how delete completely mac os and install only windows

      • Kevin says:

you know your a windows fan boy when you overpay for an OS + parts, and then delete the overpaid OS. pollo, you doing that would put you in a no-win situation.

  26. macman says:

Windows is the worst technology foisted on people in Human history.
    Know it.
    Deal with it.

    • M8 says:

You also need to deal with the fact that it’s the leading OS around the world for both corporate and personal use, despite what you might think. Generally speaking the ‘worst technology’ doesn’t get that sort of market, otherwise we would have Mac as the mainstream OS.

      • cyrviana says:

When my phone makes a better PC than my PC, I would have to say that my PC is pretty damn bad.

      • drumrobot says:

…but the only reason it’s the leading operating system is that it runs on less expensive computers, so companies that don’t need any processing power to speak of (a library catalogue computer, for example) get computers running Windows.

  27. Double FAIL in the pic. Look carefully.

  28. yugypeerca says:

I once saw that screensaver on tv.

  29. Kookas says:

    linux is a win

    • linux2 says:

I think this is the only linux post I see out of all the comments. Cheers my fellow linux guru. Little does everyone know, linux is friendly these days, even to those who don’t know what a bash shell is…*gasp*.

  30. Rawhide says:

Could have been worse… It could have been Vista!

  31. daniel says:

because everyone knows windows is better

  32. miket210tx says:

    nice double fail lolol

  33. fgijheop says:

    36th

  34. yourmom says:

Their has to be some good in Apple.

  35. AJ Pants says:

My work computer runs XP. I feel like I’m timewarping back 10 years every time I sit down at my desk.

    • FishDawg says:

Correct, Windows XP is about 10 years old. If you don’t like that, there are newer versions of Windows available.

  36. Lai-Lai says:

Nah, if it had been Windows in a Mac store, THAT would have been a fail.

    • cyrviana says:

Not really. Why waste a Mac on just video display? A cheap PC can do that. No need to pay more to make a better computer.

  37. 1stcomment! says:

Search blue waffle, some really cool Japanese candy comes up.

  38. FatMan says:

    Who f*cking cares

  39. passer says:

    No. It turns down Windows!

  40. Wikeni says:

    Apple Fail

    Microsoft Win

  41. FishDawg says:

Microsoft and Apple aren’t as much of rivals as the Mac vs. PC commercials make it seem. Apple makes almost no money from their operating systems. If you look at their numbers, Apple is almost entirely a hardware company. They make their money from iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac, iWhatever hardware. Microsoft is almost entirely a software company.

  42. D says:

Actually it is important to note that the picture wasn’t taken in a Mac store. Look at the caption at the bottom of the page: “Saw this at a local At&t store today…” So the irony here is that the FAIL Blog has just epically FAILED!

  43. cyrviana says:

    Well no wonder it crashed.

And what’s so fail about AT&T using windows? They’re not going to waste money giving them good equipment when it would just be for video displays.

  44. Bob-H says:

I heard that the Apple Store was using point of sale devices that ran Windows CE. But they were converting to Apple devices with touchscreens.

  45. gosauce says:

Apple stores don’t have windows, OS or even actual windows, just a big glass front.

  46. Forest says:

Apple clamping down on folks using the products in ways apple does not want you using them is so unAmerican. You spend money on a product, it is your to use.

While Bill Gates tries to rid the world of disease.

Things are not like they used to be

  47. linux2 says:

Here’s a thought.. lets see if it takes off or not. All of us should learn how to use a computer properly, boot up linux on our computers, and lead an open source revolution that will sweep the globe and lead to a future population that works together to make the computing world a better, safer and accessible place for all. BUT if we should continue with Mac and PC wars, deeming only two options possible, and then paying heavily for the products either way we swing, then so be it. :)

  48. Prikolist says:

    Epic microsoft win

  49. Echo51 says:

AT&T too cheap to get a actual mac monitor ;)

  50. tensionfilter says:

Being that Apple has its hands in every aspect of the iphone, it is their fault for not controlling the setup of AT&T’s display.

  51. jsngrimm says:

now if only the iphone ran windows, i might actually think about buying it :P

  52. killer87523 says:

    woohoo microsoft WIN…dows lol

  53. aGarbageTruck says:

Windows Mobile is a definite WIN.

  54. Kent says:

At least it’s not Windows Vista.

  55. thealligator says:

    IPhail

  56. Keith says:

Um,.. aren’t mac hard drives able to be partitioned for multiple operating systems?

  57. KcLKcL says:

    Apple lost to Microsoft. LMAO

  58. Roy_M3taL says:

this is a win to windows

  59. Amused says:

Fanatics, keeps the world go round.

  60. postingAcomment says:
