I think that they edited the site after seeing this. If you look at the photo on their site, there is definitely evidence of using the clone tool, you can see repeated patters on the pants in that area.
Plus, if you look at the close up picture of the cross, not with the zoom tool, you can still see the “plumpness”
You’re right, Pjay. I’m a professional retoucher and the job on the site is amateur. It’s definitely been retouched.
Irks me. I used to make a lot of money doing this, now amateur hackjobs are ruining the industry for skilled professionals.

I seriously doubt that Banana Republic keeps an eye on Facebook just in case some errant schlong is point out on their website.
All these photos are no doubt retouched to a degree. No surprise there. It’s far more likely that the one posted above was “re-retouched” (it’s far too small for telltale details to show) than that such a thing ever made it onto the site.

Nope. My husband looks just like this, even when he’s soft. Except he wears looser (or thicker) pants, wears it to the other side, and generally doesn’t try to swing it out towards his hip, instead preferring trying to get it to sit along the inseam to be a little less obvious.

I don’t get it
When I was in college I worked on the student newspaper. We had a fluff piece about the campus blood drive. The photographer took a picture of the college president donating blood. I don’t know if it was a set of keys in his pocket or he thought he was donating something else, but we had to crop the hell out of the photo to get it to work. Fortunately we saw it before it went to press, although it might have enhanced the president’s legacy at the college. All he got in the end was a building. At least they erected something for him.

I work at a company that shoots pics for lots of clothing and home items. All these pics are heavily scrutinized and retouched before going out. There’s a whole approval process.
Not likely that would have made it past the photographers, retouchers, and approval people…

BN have shopped it after it was on their site, when you look at the picture which is now on the webby, you can tell it’s been clone stamped to death to get the image looking respectable xD
The same crease/shadow/whatever that is line has been repeated exactly around 3 times really close together. BN obviously noticed and clone stamped it out.

There are 4 pictures on the BN site for those pants, and the one that is really close-up is not retouched (third one I think) and you can see the top of the banana. The zoomed out one has totally edited that banana out with a clone stamp.
