    • Malaquias says:

Yeah, man, science is letting us down

      • Art Radio says:

We actually do have flying cars; they just require a half-million dollars and a pilot’s license. Economics got in the way of progress.

        • 小胖子 says:

Not to mention North Korea is already making plans for WWIII. Sure, it hasn’t taken place, but perhaps the precedent (Iraq War) is the setup for it…?

YOU SPOILED THIS FOR EUROPEANS EVERYWHERE GODAMIT

    • vivii says:

exactly, because European tv sucks SO much, they have yet to air season 5 of the simpsons.
btw, I’m can’t wait till they finally start showing season one of buffy!

    • Sami says:

      Actually, they didn’t.
I’m from Europe and saw this episode ages ago.

      • Rabbitfish says:

Yeah and some of us have Sky One which is British Fox, so we’re as up to date with The Simpsons as Americans are

  29. BigLord says:

Not a win. It’s actually a fail. Or a variant of “Zeerust”.

  30. IzZzY says:

fail, it’s the second of august now

    • firedragongt says:

      “IzZzY
      August 1, 2010 at 4:33 pm
fail, it’s the second of august now”

It says you posted that at four in the afternoon on the first. The site is telling me you are wrong. I’m going to agree with the site.

  31. Justice says:

Ah, classic Simpsons. The show really blows now. Anything before season 12 or 13 is good, after that… meh.

  32. Always First says:

    FIRST!!!

  33. Phantom 14 says:

it must be happening for now LOL XD!

  34. LGSQLady says:

Aww, they should totally air this episode today. <3

  35. Bob-H says:

I suppose in 5 years, FAILblog will post how October 2015 of “Back To The Future II” should be happening now, but doesn’t have the flying cars, hoverboards, etc.

  36. Will says:

Did the Brits save our asses in World War III yet?

  37. deedee13 says:

It’s so out dated, that happened yesterday.

  38. chez says:

Tell me spirit, are these visions of things that will be or only of things that might be?

  39. Phaet says:

    I don’t get it.

  40. smax says:

whats funny is in this episode, where lots of things are unrealistically futuristic, 16 year old maggie is talking on the home land line phone and Homer has to kick her off to make a call :P

  41. dogsgoruff37 says:

    super lame. Doesn’t deserve failblog.

  42. Alejo says:

    What’s this doing here?

  43. bowzer says:

Idon’t get it? Why is it a win?

    • Gridlock says:

its kinda a win/fail, the creators didn;t expect the series to last that long and this is the episode when lisa see’s the future, and she was supposed to be actually married TODAY in real time, so its kinda a win/ fail.

  44. Reelbigmartin says:

This made me lol so I think it deserves to be here :D

  45. Aaron says:

    Balls.

  46. It shows why America has gone down the crapper in the last 20 years , as all the dumb asses sit around watching this crap on their TV while the Great Chinese and Brazilians clean our clocks.
I have watched maybe 3 Simpson and 3 Family Guy shows in my life, and it is pure and utter crap. This is geared toward the idiot fat ass who laughs out loud at stupidness. YOU !

  47. Critter says:

I think it’s interesting that in the announcement, it says Sunday. And 15 years later, August 1st really is a Sunday. Did they make a point of checking, or was it a random choice of day and date?

    • Marty says:

It would have taken someone 2 mins to work out which day it fell on, so that vs getting a 1 in 7 chance right has to be more plausable.

I do agree with the majority tho – why is this even here?

  48. Born Toby Wilde says:

As I write this, on August 02, This Should Have Been Happening Yesterday!

Funny how quickly the present becomes the past, and then is heard no more.

  49. Hepstyle says:

She left him at the altar. So it’s still a fail.

  50. hun? says:

    i dont get it

  51. SkyDude says:

Actually, there’s a lot of things like this in the show. This is a pretty bad one though compared to this one:

“According to this, you’re not due to arrive until the Yankees wins the pennant. That’s nearly a century from now.” — The Devil, on Bart’s premature visit to Hell, “Bart Gets Hit by a Car” (1991)

If you go by these things like this, Bart should have died in 1996, when the Yankees did indeed win the pennant.

This is a definite storyline fail – evidently they either didn’t think too highly of the Yankees or (more likely) they didn’t think they’d last that long when they wrote that.

  52. Camiloman says:

Alguien se dio cuenta que el verdadero fail es que no seria domingo sino lunes ??

Someone realized that the real fail is that it would not be Sunday, but Monday?

  53. Camiloman says:

    pailas.
el fail es que me le cambiaron el año al 2011 :-( :-(

    sorry.
the fail is that I was changed the year to 2011 :-( :-(

  54. CYNTHIAJAY says:

    I watched this episode yesterday…. ironically! It’s on season 6! <3

  55. beanbag says:

i like the view of the future in this episode. with the holograms and flying cars. the world today is pretty much the same as it was then

  56. me like fails:) says:

    when did this episode shown?

  57. superstar says:

this was the first “future” episode of the simpsons. its where lisa goes to the fair and sees and psychic

  58. blytherubbings says:

Bandit still whines about its slit like it did back then

  59. Ben says:

    Poor Millhouse

  60. Hirushi says:

What if instead of counting in seasons, we counted the total episodes as if each was a day, or if we counted each day that passed in the show? How old would they be then?

  61. random guy says:

I can see that there’s another fail. It says “Mr. and Mrs. Homer J. Simpson” If it’s written that way, then practically both of them are named “Homer J. Simpson

    • Divided by zero says:

First of all it’s actually the traditional way of referring to a married couple: as “Mr. and Mrs. [the man's name].” Sadly, this practice continues to the present day in the United States, despite the general consensus here that wives should not be treated as beneath their husbands. Secondly, “practically both?” How can you have “practically both?”

  62. Danny says:

Just saw this today. While it shouldn’t really be on here, that was my 19th birthday.

  63. kims says:

    so ouch.
