Concur, not Failblog worthy. However, funny to think they didn’t expect their series to last long enough that the famous cartoon daughter should have grown up by now…same with Bart…and Maggie should be out soliciting guys somewhere…
Wtf how can you say that? It’s not a fail but it’s the wit and ability to catch these things that makes failblog great and it’s creators and maintainers equally so, as well as proves their comic genius. Plus this is awesome that this was in The Simpsons.
Yeah except that.. Maggie wasn’t 1 day old when the show started..
Aside from the fact that the case never grows old, Maggie’s always been a toddler, which would make her 1 year old or so at 1987..
Yes there is a long list of sites at the bottom, but this picture was only posted on FAILBLOG. And it is not a fail or a win, so it does not belong here. It may belong on one of the sites at the bottom, but not here.
And if everyone posted random junk that didn’t belong, this site wouldn’t be as funny because you’d have to go through tons of crap just for one good fail. So yes, they can say what doesn’t belong here, because they are the people that view this site, which in turn views advertisements, which then helps failblog receive revenue. So HAH.
HA! Nice . I find it a bit creepy that Maggie has yet to age even a year, but I guess that’s the point. But that’s a pretty long running gag if you ask me.
exactly, because European tv sucks SO much, they have yet to air season 5 of the simpsons.
btw, I’m can’t wait till they finally start showing season one of buffy!
I suppose in 5 years, FAILblog will post how October 2015 of “Back To The Future II” should be happening now, but doesn’t have the flying cars, hoverboards, etc.
whats funny is in this episode, where lots of things are unrealistically futuristic, 16 year old maggie is talking on the home land line phone and Homer has to kick her off to make a call
its kinda a win/fail, the creators didn;t expect the series to last that long and this is the episode when lisa see’s the future, and she was supposed to be actually married TODAY in real time, so its kinda a win/ fail.
It shows why America has gone down the crapper in the last 20 years , as all the dumb asses sit around watching this crap on their TV while the Great Chinese and Brazilians clean our clocks.
I have watched maybe 3 Simpson and 3 Family Guy shows in my life, and it is pure and utter crap. This is geared toward the idiot fat ass who laughs out loud at stupidness. YOU !
I think it’s interesting that in the announcement, it says Sunday. And 15 years later, August 1st really is a Sunday. Did they make a point of checking, or was it a random choice of day and date?
Actually, there’s a lot of things like this in the show. This is a pretty bad one though compared to this one:
“According to this, you’re not due to arrive until the Yankees wins the pennant. That’s nearly a century from now.” — The Devil, on Bart’s premature visit to Hell, “Bart Gets Hit by a Car” (1991)
If you go by these things like this, Bart should have died in 1996, when the Yankees did indeed win the pennant.
This is a definite storyline fail – evidently they either didn’t think too highly of the Yankees or (more likely) they didn’t think they’d last that long when they wrote that.
What if instead of counting in seasons, we counted the total episodes as if each was a day, or if we counted each day that passed in the show? How old would they be then?
I can see that there’s another fail. It says “Mr. and Mrs. Homer J. Simpson” If it’s written that way, then practically both of them are named “Homer J. Simpson
First of all it’s actually the traditional way of referring to a married couple: as “Mr. and Mrs. [the man's name].” Sadly, this practice continues to the present day in the United States, despite the general consensus here that wives should not be treated as beneath their husbands. Secondly, “practically both?” How can you have “practically both?”
Meh, not failblog material imo.
true that
Interesting, for sure, but not failblog material.
Concur, not Failblog worthy. However, funny to think they didn’t expect their series to last long enough that the famous cartoon daughter should have grown up by now…same with Bart…and Maggie should be out soliciting guys somewhere…
anyone get the feeling failblog should be renamed /b/ blog???
I haven’t seen any /b/0rn here. It feels very re/new/able though.
stfu.
i agree, stfu.
Yeah, Stuffoo.
Wait, what?
Wtf how can you say that? It’s not a fail but it’s the wit and ability to catch these things that makes failblog great and it’s creators and maintainers equally so, as well as proves their comic genius. Plus this is awesome that this was in The Simpsons.
No.
Yes
Yeah, Maggie should be the same age as the Olsen twins!
Nope. The Olsen twins were born in 1986. The Simpsons didn’t start on the Tracy Ullman Show until 1987 and didn’t get their own series until 1989.
Yes, but Maggie’s birthday is in November of 86, hence making her actual age nearly 24.
So you’re saying that the Olsen twins are about six months older than Maggie. Not a really significant difference!
Agree, I don’t even know why ppl argue about stupid crap like that..
“they’re”
FAIL
This ended well after all…
Yeah except that..

So yes, they can say what doesn’t belong here, because they are the people that view this site, which in turn views advertisements, which then helps failblog receive revenue. So HAH.
it was on very demotivational as well, SO THERE!
If The Simpsons had actually done something, “Episode, event or announcement”. It would of been a win. The fact that they didn’t, constitutes a FAIL.
Would “have”, not would “of”. (Or perhaps you wanted “would’ve”.)
Your comment lacks logic.
Timing win
This doesn’t belong here.
Your MOM doesn’t belong here!
Isn’t that actually sort of a compliment?
And made me laugh more than the actual picture.
619!
916!
But he belongs here as a fail…
She does belong here, I tried her already and she is a failure
Simpsons did it!
haha south park ftw
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
win
HAHA
Epic Win
FIRST!!!!!
… to fail at being a jerk!
It’s bad enough you’re shouting “first!” but on top of that, it’s not even true!
Don’t feed that, honey. you don’t know where it’s been.
Not by a long way! First Fails are always welcome though! More so on Failblog! HAHA
Erm…if one fails at being a jerk, then they are NOT being a jerk. It’s like Eminem says: “I don’t ow nobody nothing”…
Oooh, the lesser spotted triple negative!
I give that comment the unprecedented “A Triple Plus”
BTW, as for Jesus not exiting, I know for a fact that you’re wrong!
I got a call from him the other day because the dermatologist his daughter was referred to was 20 miles away and he wanted a closer one.
This comment is win.
Jesus works for Domino’s
And bowls as a hobby… dont mess with the Jesus
You’re right – Jesus did exit, and on the third day he came back again.
I wish I could go back and edit my posts, that should have been “exist” instead of “exit” but I think most people got what I meant!
I got the moles on my back traced by the dermatologist. Cancerous ones will never be the same.
WIN!!!
yeah i thought i was the only one who thought so.
Blocked.
Lisa is hawt.
Lisa is 8.
Why don’t you have a seat over there?
This Lisa is 23 years old, which is well within normal age for hawtness
Lisa doesn’t like people who remind her of Bart, so watch your spelling!
WTF
I don’t get it……. could someone explain please?
Roflrazzi has a full explanation here:
http://roflrazzi.com/2010/08/01/celebrity-pictures-congrats-mrs-simpson-parkfield/
That explanation says the wedding was called off. Even more reason to wonder why this is here.
The date is august 1. 2010. It’s from an old episode of the Simpsons set in the future. Lisa hasn’t aged a day since then on the show.
As far as I can tell the only reason this is here because It’s August 1st 2010. Or maybe this is just a “WIN FAIL”.
underage b& detected
Smell ya later! I can’t believe that caught on…
I think that was a later future episode. The one where she became president.
Isn’t that Green’s catchphrase from Pokémon?
*Facepalm* It’s Gary…
No, it’s Green. ‘Gary’ is his English-version name.
I’m feeling ANCIENT right now.
Same. *sigh* anyone seen my walker? It was near my denture cup.
Win.
That is all.
DOES NOT BELONG.
And to think they had floating cars in that episode, and in one scene they say World War III had taken place… Sigh…
Yeah, man, science is letting us down
We actually do have flying cars; they just require a half-million dollars and a pilot’s license. Economics got in the way of progress.
Not to mention North Korea is already making plans for WWIII. Sure, it hasn’t taken place, but perhaps the precedent (Iraq War) is the setup for it…?
Wow
And this was posted at 1:00 too wow
What episode is this???
Season five. Lisa sees the future.
Congratulations! You all F-A-I-L!
*Breaks into song & dance*
How old is this episode?
~1994/5
thats good, congratulations to the epic win
1000000000000000000000000000000000000000th.
ITS ALREADY AUGUST!!!!!??????
ugh school starts this month
LOL
Epic post.
rel=”nofollow” ? Diiiick move.
HA! Nice
. I find it a bit creepy that Maggie has yet to age even a year, but I guess that’s the point. But that’s a pretty long running gag if you ask me.
hehe thats my B’day!
yet she continues to be.. 7?
I don’t get it, I regret reading all this text.
this sucks.
YOU SPOILED THIS FOR EUROPEANS EVERYWHERE GODAMIT
exactly, because European tv sucks SO much, they have yet to air season 5 of the simpsons.
btw, I’m can’t wait till they finally start showing season one of buffy!
Actually, they didn’t.
I’m from Europe and saw this episode ages ago.
Yeah and some of us have Sky One which is British Fox, so we’re as up to date with The Simpsons as Americans are
Not a win. It’s actually a fail. Or a variant of “Zeerust”.
fail, it’s the second of august now
“IzZzY
August 1, 2010 at 4:33 pm
fail, it’s the second of august now”
It says you posted that at four in the afternoon on the first. The site is telling me you are wrong. I’m going to agree with the site.
Oh snap, epic pwnage.
Ah, classic Simpsons. The show really blows now. Anything before season 12 or 13 is good, after that… meh.
FIRST!!!
fail…
it must be happening for now LOL XD!
Aww, they should totally air this episode today. <3
Wow?
I suppose in 5 years, FAILblog will post how October 2015 of “Back To The Future II” should be happening now, but doesn’t have the flying cars, hoverboards, etc.
BTW, you don’t suppose the Simpsons knew that Lisa’s wedding was on the same day as Chelsea’s?
Who on earth is Chelsea, and why does that matter?
Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former president Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
Well, people are petitioning Nike to make power-lace shoes by 2015 and call them McFlys.
Did the Brits save our asses in World War III yet?
It’s so out dated, that happened yesterday.
Tell me spirit, are these visions of things that will be or only of things that might be?
I don’t get it.
whats funny is in this episode, where lots of things are unrealistically futuristic, 16 year old maggie is talking on the home land line phone and Homer has to kick her off to make a call
super lame. Doesn’t deserve failblog.
What’s this doing here?
Idon’t get it? Why is it a win?
its kinda a win/fail, the creators didn;t expect the series to last that long and this is the episode when lisa see’s the future, and she was supposed to be actually married TODAY in real time, so its kinda a win/ fail.
This made me lol so I think it deserves to be here
Balls.
aaron b?
It shows why America has gone down the crapper in the last 20 years , as all the dumb asses sit around watching this crap on their TV while the Great Chinese and Brazilians clean our clocks.
I have watched maybe 3 Simpson and 3 Family Guy shows in my life, and it is pure and utter crap. This is geared toward the idiot fat ass who laughs out loud at stupidness. YOU !
Yet you waste you’re time posting comments on them.
Hmm gives win.
I think it’s interesting that in the announcement, it says Sunday. And 15 years later, August 1st really is a Sunday. Did they make a point of checking, or was it a random choice of day and date?
It would have taken someone 2 mins to work out which day it fell on, so that vs getting a 1 in 7 chance right has to be more plausable.
I do agree with the majority tho – why is this even here?
As I write this, on August 02, This Should Have Been Happening Yesterday!
Funny how quickly the present becomes the past, and then is heard no more.
She left him at the altar. So it’s still a fail.
I was about to point this out!
i dont get it
win
Actually, there’s a lot of things like this in the show. This is a pretty bad one though compared to this one:

Alguien se dio cuenta que el verdadero fail es que no seria domingo sino lunes ??
Someone realized that the real fail is that it would not be Sunday, but Monday?
pailas.
el fail es que me le cambiaron el año al 2011
sorry.
the fail is that I was changed the year to 2011
I watched this episode yesterday…. ironically! It’s on season 6! <3
i like the view of the future in this episode. with the holograms and flying cars. the world today is pretty much the same as it was then
when did this episode shown?
this was the first “future” episode of the simpsons. its where lisa goes to the fair and sees and psychic
thanks, you commented for me!
Bandit still whines about its slit like it did back then
Poor Millhouse
What if instead of counting in seasons, we counted the total episodes as if each was a day, or if we counted each day that passed in the show? How old would they be then?

Just saw this today. While it shouldn’t really be on here, that was my 19th birthday.
so ouch.
Simpsons
