» 262 Failures in Communication

  1. Leila™ says:

    Whut?

    • Mouse says:

Tea parties? Is that all there is?

      • ZombieApocalypse - wearing a soiled, blood soaked ~I ♥ Bloggy~ t-shirt, a sign around his neck reading "GONE FISSION" and riding a pale zombie horse named Pooka says:

        They misspelled “tea-totalers”.

        • Red says:

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legion_%28demon%29

‘And He (Jesus) asked him (the man), “What is thy name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion: for we are many.
And Jesus asked him, saying, “What is thy name?” And he said, “Legion”: because many devils were entered into him’

I suppose the second line is what really brought it all together for me.

          • wuddzy says:

anonymous fails to realize this quote pre-dates the internet. Anonymous stole the quote and now the tea-party has stole the quote. YOU ARE NOT ORIGINAL!!! your just so young you think you are.

            • Someone says:

Regardless of who used this quote first, the tea party is obviously trying to capitalize on the popularity of anonymous.

This is not a copyright issue.

              • jhhfjhj says:

If you have to explain it, it’s not a fail.

Second of all, the quote predates the internet.

Third of, we get it, you’re super leftist and hate everyone on the right. We’ve had like 3 of these anti-right “fails” in the space of a week. I thought that that was what pundit kitchen was for.

Seems failblog is getting worse and worse at posting actual fails.

                • Alex says:

Right, it’s not like it’s a quote from a Demon challenging Jesus Christ or anything, it’s that it was “stolen” from 4chan.

            • me says:

Every single meme on the internet was created in 4chan.

This site was created after the creator saw the original “I can haz cheezburger?” cat picture CREATED on 4chan.

4chan is probably the most original site on the internet.

            • nzm1536 says:

Yes, the part “we are Anonymous” was definitely stolen by Anonymous. GTFO

            • dribdrab says:

As far as I can tell, the only line they “stole” is the one from the Bible. I’ll admit that “We will not forgive/ We will not forget” isn’t terribly original, but the motto as a whole seems to have originated with Anonymous. There’s a difference between the Tea Party stealing the entire motto and Anonymous borrowing a single line from the Bible. If we’re going to go around complaining every time someone references a Biblical quote, we’d have to throw out most of the works of Shakespeare and half the library of Congress.

Of course, if the entire motto is borrowed from another source, I apologize and defer to your point. I’ve never seen the motto as a whole in any other context, but I’m open the idea that I’m wrong.

          • A Random Pooka says:

That’s all I could think of too, though I must admit that I never knew the quote until I started reading the Exorcist and Legion by Blatty

          • ClariPossum says:

That struck me, too. I don’t think it necessarily says anything about them as far as being “evil” or “demonic” but personally I wouldn’t want to associate myself with such a term, considering the connotation. The term itself simply means a really huge number, but the connotation is enough for me to want to stay away.

          • vinnie says:

thats what i thought they were referring to…

    • Tyler says:

Its saying go buy merch right after it said we are anon

    • Justin says:

This isn’t a fail. It’s failblog trying to insult its own cashcow. If chan/anon/somethingaweful didn’t exist, they wouldn’t bbe making any money.

    • Crazy Eddie's Discount Explanations for the Clue Impaired says:

Okay, someone needs to explain a few things. First, to all who ask “Why is this a fail” or “Is it a fail if you have to explain it?” Are you for real? Seriously? You don’t know where this whole family of sites came from? You don’t know ANY Internet history or culture? Furthermore, it is a fail of the highest level even without that, so let me start there.

These are bumper stickers. I hope I don’t have to explain THAT part of the fail any further.

Not enough for you? Okay, how about, this is an appeal to anonymous mob violence, it’s basically saying, if you cross us, we’ll come for you in the night and destroy you.

And that leads us to the real fail here: making /b/ angry. Heck, getting yourself noticed by /b/ is bad enough. Stealing their slogan and using it in a retarded way? Are you kidding me? /b/ is anonymous mob violence incarnate. What you are seeing on the Internet is not even the half of it. /b/ destroys people, in real life, just for the lolz. They are psychopaths. Not many of them are, really, but a few are simply flat out psychopaths. Oregon Tea Party is about to find out what Legion really is.

      • PlutoniumBoss says:

Yep. Guaranteed the wheels of the Hate machine are turning now. And there is no force that can stop them.

      • Matt says:

What’s worse than Anonymous and their stupid internet troll tactics? The tea-party. They make perfect bedfellows, though, both completely oblivious to the way the world works and insisting on being whiny little tools in the name of a cause they don’t even understand.

        • Dan says:

Who is using anonymous as a tool? Or maybe you don’t really know what you are talking about…

          • of no concern says:

Not that anonymous is being used, it’s easy enough to route a mob to a certain goal, but stopping them is another matter. And yes you can also easily fail at routing a mob.

      • nachtliche says:

maybe most people on failblog.org have no life and know all about 4chan and /b/, but I guarantee if you go out on the street and ask random people most people won’t have a clue what you are talking about. That is why this is a fail fail submission. Insulting others for not knowing this just makes yourself more like an internet loser with no life…

        • nzm1536 says:

Cheezburger Network is dedicated to the internet culture and 4chan is one of the biggest and most influential message boards on the web. It’s logical to assume that people who visit meme-related websites know what 4chan is.

        • Creative Anarchy says:

This isn’t a fail because someone at New America Press didn’t do their homework when they swiped a slogan from a protest group. This is a fail because the Tea Party could have stolen a billion different slogans throughout time but they chose to stick their face in the beeeez nest. It would be a fail not akin to Louis Vittan choosing to make his spring line hats out of live Great White sharks. It wouldn’t matter wheather you understood that Great White Sharks are endangerred, it’s just a bad idea to put them on your head.

      • nzm1536 says:

Is there something wrong with me? I visit /b/ and I am not a psychopath. And I am not a pedophile. Seriously, your knowledge of 4chan is probably based on Fox News report.

      • grrr says:

        Lol, thanks Fox News.

    • nachtliche says:

I can’t express how utterly worthless this fail submission is. If you have to explain it, it’s too complicated and/or too obscure. After searching comments, I see the slogan evidently comes from 4chan/b/. Oh obviously doesn’t everyone without a life know that?! If you are trying to bash tea partiers, is this really the best fail you could find?

  2. Robby S. says:

    FIRST
    And I don’t get it?…

  3. Phaet says:

I’m not going outside. I’m scared.

  4. Qwaz says:

    Yes we Chan!

    • Mouse says:

      ht tp://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102426-Anonymous-Punishes-the-Oregon-Tea-Party

      • Scormus says:

I suspect that it was an Anonymous member holding that sign at a Tea Party gathering, doing it for the lulz as always, when some TP member saw the sign and said to themselves “Hey, that would look good on a bumper sticker!”

I live in Oregon, and considering the high levels of Derp in the Tea Party members I’ve seen around here, this would not surprise me at all.

        • Alcyone says:

          Hear, hear.

Then again, Derp content in Oregon’s Tea Party simply reflects Derp content elsewhere. We were simply blessed that our brand of Derp decided to gift our state with the “honor” of this fail.

    • Anony- wait, nevermind, I'm Alex says:

      WIN!!

  5. Giovani MacDonald says:

    Fail Blog FAIL!

  6. Mike says:

If you have to explain it, then it’s not a FAIL. This site has really gone downhill lately.

  7. Tom says:

I still don’t get it. (My fail?) Is it really a Fail if you have to take a class to understand it?

    • Qwaz says:

Admittedly, even upon explanation, this is a pretty lame fail.
      My appologies for blasphemy.

    • Anonymous says:

You don’t need a class, you just need to be aware of a certain (sizeable) chunk of Internet culture. This choice of slogan is definitely failworthy not only because it’s plagiarized, but also because the people they’re copycatting are fairly disreputable. Then again, that shoe kinda fits for the Teabaggers.

  8. John says:

The only thing I can figure is that a demon in the Bible refers to himself as legion. “My name is Legion, for we are many.”

  9. Leila™ says:

    *pours tea for peeps*

    One lump or two?

  10. Skeletor says:

So, when is the Tea Party?

  11. K says:

Maybe they say “We are anonymous” and on the right, it’s written “Oregon Tea Party” so it’s not really anonymous… ??

  12. Seamus says:

Expect them? Not the Spanish Inquisition then.

  13. WetSandinMyTummy says:

I suppose it’s a fail, because they still advertise for themselves even though they say they’re anonymous… a fail needs to be a bit more obvious than this though imo.. oh well

  14. Anonimous says:

If people don’t understand, then it’s better.
    inb4 rule 1&2

  15. gambitgirl says:

It’s a win for those who know. :p

  16. Malaquias says:

that’s from the anti-scientology video by “anonymous”, the internet “group”. Not sure why it’s a fail though

    • Mikey says:

COngrats, you fail at spotting fails.

    • Blurgle says:

Oh, yeah: the chowderheads who wear Guy Fawkes masks.

The only difference between Guy Fawkes and Mohammed Atta/Osama Bin Laden? Guy Fawkes’s attempt to murder thousands of innocents failed.

      • No1askedme says:

Guy Fawkes WAS a terrorist, but his target was the british parliament, not random civilians. Check your facts before you spout them idiot.

        • Wavy McDavy says:

Guy Fawkes was just the hired merc. who got caught, he wasn’t one of the plotters or “terrorist masterminds” as it seems fashionable to call them. Check your facts before you spout them idiot.

      • mica720x says:

Guy fawkes target was not civilans but a goverment going roug

      • argv says:

        1. The British Parliament does not have thousands of members.
        2. The British Parliament does not have ANY innocent members.
        3. You are a moron. Please commit suicide.

    • Philup J. Fry says:

its a fail for many reasons the first is they copy catted that slogan from the internet group anonymous which was incredibly obvious (and yes I realize anonymous didn’t create it/write it) second they claim to be anonymous hence the first line and off to the side they say who they are, where they live, their mothers maiden name, and their social security numbers as well as what time they are available to be beaten up.

  17. Matt says:

This fail is soooo fail that the 20% of people that “get it” face-palm hard enough for the 80% that don’t.

  18. Mikey says:

Dear, god… As if the Tea Party needed any more public proof of their idiocy.

If there is one group on Earth that I would be terrified of having on my ass, it would be /b/.

  19. Ass-face says:

The joke is that it’s what 4chan /b/ uses as their slogan, and /b/ is pretty much famous for ruining lives. I guess it’s kind of suitable for a Tea Party slogan in that case.

  20. geogypsy says:

Is this an add placement fail or a fail fail?

  21. detru says:

I don’t get it. yes they stole the slogan from anonymus…and that’s all I can see on the picture, the small text to the right is not really readable…so what? the slogan is nice so I don’t see why it’s a fail when you use it.

  22. Cletis says:

If it’s only ironic in one obscure, narrow interpretation which is clearly not the intended meaning, then it’s NOT A FAIL.

  23. ARELuN says:

    Darth Vader returns

  24. PKAT says:

Yeah, that whole sticking to the constitution thing is sooo freaking horrible. Since the vast membership of the tea party of is veterans you haters are just spitting on vets like your hippy parents did in the ’60′s

  25. esper says:

For those who still think it’s a fail, we are anonymous doesn’t mean the group is anonymous. It means that the members of the group can’t be identified like Jews in Poland with the star of david armbands on their arms. This is the obvious meaning for anyone intelligent. Probably the only arguable mistake is capitalizing the A in anonymous. But that was done to match Legion, which a good argument can be made for doing that.

This only goes to show that whoever put this fail up doesn’t mind letting their own political opinion seep into the site.

  26. DHW says:

Of course, people. How good a FAIL could it be if it needs to be explained to the clueless? Anything that isn’t obvious to morons is worthless.

  27. B says:

Woah, I thought more people would know of Anonymous. Anonymous are an important part of the Internet. Sad to use the Internet for entertainment and not know of Anon. It’s like voting in political elections without knowing what the Republican or Democrat party are.

    • Turkwise says:

Wow, it blows my mind that so many people who frequent this site, which has heavy references to various internettery, don’t know who Anonymous is. But I guess I can’t blame them for not knowing.

Look them up; learn when to steer clear of them – the Oregon tea party didn’t, and that’s their fail.

  28. Ian says:

Ha! I love it when you have to think about it! Great one!

  29. badrabbit says:

    The backwards acronym is EWWWW

  30. Agent Sparkz says:

NO ONE EXPECTS THE RACIST INQUISITION!

  31. r€nato says:

    Teabaggers are FAIL

  32. Anonymous says:

I may be mistaken, but I’m pretty sure that:
    A) Failblog is a part of the Cheezburger network,
    B) The Cheezburger network spawned out of ICanHazCheezburger (aka lolcat central),
    C) lolcats spawned out of Anonymous, and of course…
    D) the plagiarized slogan in this Fail entry is Anon’s

The fact that so many people have missed the reference is icing on the failcake.

    • //L says:

One last bit: lolcats spawned from caturday, which came from anon. If you want a complete history check KnowYourMeme

    • gambitgirl says:

      I agree.

    • person says:

It’s amazing how many people on the Cheezburger Network don’t know about the Site-That-Spawned-It-All (Like He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, it must not be named). Just proof the Internet has been so watered down nobody remembers what started most if not all the memes they enjoy.

  33. Aja says:

Help! Someone borked the STC real bad!

  34. Anon says:

    learn to speak chanese…

  35. Qwghlm says:

You never expect the Spanish Inuqisition!

    • BugsBunnySan says:

And Cardinal Ximinez entered and said:

      “Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
      Our chief weapon is surprise…

      Surprise and fear…fear and surprise….
Our two weapons are fear and surprise…and ruthless efficiency….

Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency…and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope….

Our four…no… amongst our weapons…. amongst our weaponry…are such elements as fear, surprise….

I’ll come in again.” (exit and exeunt)

  36. M says:

You’d think that right-wing nuts would know better than that:

And Jesus asked him, saying, “What is thy name?” And he said, “Legion”: because many devils were entered into him.

  37. 'MERICA says:

as a proud american, i cant support the communsim that is the tea parrty, also i have the facebook site it came from http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/TeaPartyOregon?v=wall&ref=notif

  38. Dani says:

I don’t get this. At all. Not everyone is so immersed in “internet culture” that they would immediately recognize whatever joke is laced in there. This is a fail within the fail.

    • Dan says:

I don’t think all fails should have to be a guy getting hit in the balls. We are allowed some focus to our fails, me thinks.

In the meantime, either try and forget there is ever such a think as Anonymous, or lookup the internet reference for some darn good entertainment.

  39. Anonymous says:

    Bloody poseurs.

And ffs, you do NOT talk about /b/!

  40. Will says:

anyone here acutally checked the oregon tea party’s profile? there are continuous spams of anon on there. I’m totally getting popcorn too.

  41. anon says:

haha i got it. yeah, it’s a fail.

  42. The Affect says:

I didn’t Know the Geth from Mass Effect were Tea Party Memembers. Hmmm

  43. :D says:

    proof that republicans fail hard.

    • Anonymous says:

      This is ignorant…

Republicans have a successful history in:

      Econom…nevermind.
      Foreign pol…nevermind.
      Civil rig…nevermind…

      aw, f**k it, Republicans fail.

  44. Anonymous says:

    What’s 4chan? *plays dumb

  45. macman says:

Makes more sense than “Yes we can!”

  46. Dan says:

Are people really too stupid to do a Google search, read the entire sticker, or even just follow the damned link to understand why this is a fail?

They stole, outright, the slogan coined by a group that is known for being very ruthless, very vengeful, and when necessary very well organized, and used it for their own purposes, completely missing that capitalizing the A in anonymous makes it a very obvious reference to said group, and that capitalizing the L in legion makes it a somewhat more obscure reference to a biblical demon, and when called out on it by the aforementioned group, defended themselves by calling the group ‘basement dwellers’ and insisting the slogan they chose was theirs to use as they wish.

It’s a fail on multiple levels: Theft of intellectual property. Weak defense of said theft. Not researching or understanding references in said intellectual property. And most importantly…messing with a group composed of many, many internet users of varying levels of technical skill who’ve shown themselves to be very good at organizing against a specific enemy.

    • Avis says:

So how long before that branch of the teaparty gets hacked?

    • Pete Leemans says:

So it took you 3 paragraphs to explain why it’s funny?

Wow. That’s hilarious. I’m having the big O in my polyester pants.

    • Dblade says:

Uh, both lines predate /b/ quite a bit. One is from the bible, one is saying we are faceless. They are both common phrases. So it’s more /b/ failing a little and not realizing the world doesn’t revolve around them. It’d be one thing if they used a longcat is long or rule 34 slogan, but this one is still generic.

  47. mtb1646 says:

“We are self-important douchebags who desperately need to find some meaning in our pathetic, bitter, little lives”
I guess that’s a bit long. They would probably need a seperate envelope.

  48. Big Fat "So What"? says:

So, do I have this right? We have two opposing groups who:

    a) think they’re the s**t
    b) ain’t too bright
    c) have computers and access to the net
    d) don’t have much worthwhile to say
    e) cling to the pack
    f) thrive on attention

    Is that about right?

    *yawn* *flick* *flick*

    Next…

    • Steve says:

      You have it exactly right.

    • Dan says:

I would consider it as one is a raging baboon with blood and bile seeping from it’s mouth, and the other is a baby chimp just exploring the world.

Yes, they are both primates that throw s**t, but I think i know which one to bet on.

  49. kevin says:

    Fail, or win?

  50. koo018 says:

This is the best. Those who don’t get it, fail.

  51. Jennifer says:

And Jesus asked him, saying, “What is thy name?” And he said, “Legion”: because many devils were entered into him. Luke 8:30

    • Dan says:

Yes, that’s where it originated. Very good.

However, Anonymous is the first group to turn it into THAT EXACT QUOTE.

If I heard someone shout “Yippie Ka yay! mother%*(&$#!” I’m not going to say, ‘oh, well cowboys used to say that.’

  52. Binky says:

I thought it failed hard enough in demonstrating that the authors (1) understand that a short, terse motto can feel hard-hitting and emphatic and (2) fail to understand that doing it five times in a row rather dilutes the effect.

I love moments like this. It’s like someone’s trying to sound tough, but is too intellectually unfocused to know when s/he’s done making the point.

  53. Shade Tail says:

OK, I’ve got no love for the teabaggers, but calling this a fail just because of some obscure internet meme is downright ridiculous. Who cares what Anonymous is “supposed” to mean?

    • Chimie says:

Seeing as /b/ and 4chan is where Failblog originally spawned from, and -isn’t- some obscure meme…

I’d say you might need to look up some things before you comment again.

      • Shade Tail says:

I did look it up, kiddo, which is why I knew what this was about. So kindly shove your patronizing advice. And while you’re at it, get some perspective. ‘Anonymous’ most certainly *is* an obscure meme, because the vast majority of people both on and off the internet have never heard of it.

        • Philip J Fry says:

LMFAO anonymous isn’t an obscure meme its an internet group of crackers. most people on and off the net have heard of anonymous because of their attacks on scientology. Anonymous started out as a meme but has largely become something different since its creation. so not only is anonymous not obscure its not a meme.

    • I agree.

This is a fail, because it’s a borderline terrorist threat.

  54. Steve says:

There was a bear video? Cool…link me up, there’s a good boy.

  55. Paul says:

I have been on the internet since 1993, but for some reason (maybe because I live outside of the USA), didn´t know what Anonymous, The Tea Party, 4Chan or /b/ meant.

Anyway, for the lost like me, here’s a link to a short article about the story: http://thenextweb.com/us/2010/07/26/oregon-political-movement-adopts-a-4chan-slogan/

and here’s an article about Anonymous’s revenge:

    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102426-Anonymous-Punishes-the-Oregon-Tea-Party

If this slashdot, I’d rate this fail as “-9 Irrelevant to the rest of the world”

    Paul

  56. Lord Aaronus the Red says:

    Net nuts had it coming.

  57. MysteryMan says:

    1. Failblog fail due having to have the fail explained. Anonymous is an obscure internet group that most people, myself included, have never heard of.
    2. Anyone who used the vulgar term “teabagger” auto-failed.
    3. Obama fail, just because he is an utter dumbass.

  58. anon123 says:

wow tards. 1 and 2 seriously..

    • wuddzy says:

Wow…more “original” thought from /b/, even your first two rules are stolen, as is your slogan. You are not original, or important. Get over yourselves, pay your child support and take a vacation to a nice beach somewhere.

      • Luna says:

You think the /b/tards are old enough to be paying child support? I thought they were bored kids, at least for the mostpart. Wiki says 4chan was set up by a 15 year old.

& they kind of are important. Like it or not, in 20 years, Anonymous will be our generation’s punk rock/hippie/flapper movement.

  59. Derp says:

I really think it was going to be the end of the Tea Party when I saw this. Wonder what Anon is doing, it’s not like them to let it go so easily.

  60. metalcraze says:

4chan is a bunch of left wing internet terrorists anyway

  61. ladyrockess says:

Forgive me if I’m wrong, but aren’t the Tea Party supporters notoriously militant and Christian? Why would they want to align themselves with a demon? Wouldn’t they want to align themselves with an angel or other God-serving minion?

  62. No Fail says:

Hilariously convergent evolution is not fail.

    We win.

  63. spacebat says:

    They accidentally the slogan.

  64. Holdin it down for H-Town says:

Wow FAILblog you morons. Why mess with such a huge community of YOUR READERS. What a bunch of idiots. Did you forget that “FAIL” and “WIN” were popularized by /b/? Wow What is this I dont even…

Didn’t know TeaBaggers were huge readers of Fail Blog…because that’s who they appear to be targeting for using apparently well known internet slogans in their advertising.

  65. If any other group in America made this kind of remark, they’d be instantly listed as terrorists — yet when the Tea Party does it, that’s supposed to be fine.

    Why?

  66. Maths says:

So, near as I can tell, it’s a double-FAIL for the Tea Party, a double-FAIL for Anonymous, and a WIN for the troll who’s playing the whole lot of them. Ouch, my head.

  67. sureonisinspired says:

    Rules 1 and 2 guys…

  68. Jackie Chan says:

Once again proof that the internet is serious business.

  69. enoilgat says:

“Slip on your reading glasses on and read up on the /b/asics here.” Usage of the word “on” fail.

  70. nazani14 says:

We are German! That’s why We capitalize Nouns!

Expect you? I expect the TPers will sputter out, right after they manage to lose a few districts that would have gone Rethuglican, except that the TP candidate scared off all the moderates.

  71. Pyrofirestrike says:

I’ve known Anonymous for a while, and had a serious facepalm moment when I saw this. But…
    http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/102426-Anonymous-Punishes-the-Oregon-Tea-Party
What scares me more is that the Oregon Tea Party reported that they “admire” the tactics of Anonymous. Does that mean we’re going to have another version of Anonymous running around under the Tea Party movement?

  72. anonymous says:

    rules 1 and 2

  73. Anonymous says:

Anonymous is 4chan’s ‘Legion’. This probably has soemthing to do with the Black Panthers and KKK. Probably.

  74. meowcat2 says:

4 chan needs to be shut down permanently.

  75. Jemba-Jowpy says:

Another reason this is a fail is that it is a christian group literally using “we do not forgive” as part of their slogan.

The American right really take hypocrisy to hilarious new levels

  76. nursekel2278 says:

It’s fail because it breaks its own rule by printing “We are anonymous” and then in smaller print it adds. Oregon Tea Party. Thus breaking the anonymous rule.

  77. A Conservative who Is Not a Douchebag says:

We exist. But seriously, guys, if the ideals of liberalism could be proven as better than conservatism, then why would anyone be conservative? Because they’re stupid? No. Because, when you get right down to it, the decision to be either a liberal or a conservative is one based on ethics and gut-feeling. Quit hating conservatives. We’re all human beings.

  78. Asmodeus says:

This is stupid. It just means “We are anyone, we are many.” I agree “We are legion” is a bit of a negative connotation, but the anonymous thing? Really??? It’s a stupid sticker but the whole /b/ forum thing… whatever. People have referred to things as anonymous for only a few hundred years…

  79. Philup J. Fry says:

sorry guess again we are legion refers to being an army not a demon.

  80. Philup J. Fry says:

oh right almost forgot legion refers to army not demon other wise it would say I am legion not we are legion. we refers to many, I refers to an individual. Demon is singular while army is plural in nature.

  81. Anonymous says:

Ho ho ho! Haters gonna hate! /b/rofist

  82. They got on the news for this. They [The Oregon Tea Party] had started distributing official merchandise with this slogan on it, and it somehow got onto the interwebz. Shortly thereafter, 4Chan was alerted. So, what did they do? They aimed their trollectric spamcannon at the OTP’s Facebook page. Within hours, the page was filled with a awe-inducing number of meme posts, the likes of which the world has never seen before. I saw it on the news, and I just started cracking up. My parents (who had recorded the news for a different segment) had no idea what was so interesting about it.

  83. Delan says:

Well, I didn’t expect the unforgiving, unforgetting anonymous legion !!

  84. Xaratherus says:

This is a fail, not because the right-wingers stole someone else’s slogan, but because the Oregon Tea Party just dropped themselves into the cacky by “challenging” Anonymous.

  85. cT says:

It’s amazing to me how many people on this site, that would not exist without 4chan, have no idea about it. OMG I DUN GET IT FAILBLOG SUX …

Buncha whiny noobs, if you don’t get it, move on – don’t come in the comments and cry about it. This is hysterical, esp if you know what happened to these idiots for using /b/’s slogan.

  86. jgt2598 says:

“We are LEGION, for we are MANY” Are they finally admitting to being a collective demonic entity? It’s about time. Also, very scary evil cult-esque.

  87. Anon says:

    I call shoop.
But if not… anon FTW. b/rothas unite.

  88. Skippy says:

OK so basically there’s a long backstory about a bad idea which, for those who know the story, this photo reflects. That’s very different from a whole story being told by a photo or video, which is really the point of this site. Huge fail fail. Get over yourselves.

  89. herpaderp says:

The tea party was created by a few anons (sup /TD/)who used the same armory/tool kit developed for chanology and all the other ops.
Never mind that the whole thing has gone horribly, horribly wrong and they now refuse to talk about it.
It’s like rolling pebbles down a steep slope. If you do manage to start an avalanch you still have no control over it.

  90. ix says:

Wow. What a total crapfest. If anyone could outsuck the tea party (not easy) it’s the narcissists at Anonymous. What a bunch of 14-year-old girls. WHO CARES!!!
