  1. lethalsmoky says:

    first?

  2. lethalsmoky says:

    yeeeeeeessss!!!!!!

  3. Jowie says:

Closest to FIRST!!!!!! As I’ll ever get

  4. themotts says:

Its divisible by 30 does that count?

    • Irons says:

Yes, their only promise is that wait times will be multiples of 30 mins

      • bowzer says:

You have to read the fine print. Maybe it’s within 30mins of the average waiting time. Or if you wait more than 30mins you get a discount.

      • Pegz says:

I’d be thrilled with the 60 minutes! We have so many illegals here using ERS as primary care, my daughter (fractured her wrist at 3pm Friday) had to wait 9 hours for X-Ray and because THAT finally occured at 1am Sat. morning, she had to wait til Monday to see a specialist for a cast!!! LI, NY ERS SUCK!!!

        • Di says:

It took a couple hours in my small town hospital to get xrays and all that when I broke my leg… but that was because the staff was busy trying to revive the woman in the other room.

          She didn’t make it.

I felt blessed that all I was there for was a broken leg.

(I also needed to wait a few days for the cast because they don’t like putting casts on until the swelling has gone down…)

    • ah_burn! says:

that would make 2 minutes, you make no sense ffs

  5. dr.adrian says:

But that’s only *your* average wait time, not *mine*

  6. $269 regular visit.
    $279 Plus visit.
    $289 Premium visit

  7. A 30 min promise?
I would be happy with a only 5 sec promise, not to molest me with out consent, if it cuts my wait time down.

  8. Otze says:

Perhaps they promise AT LEAST 30 min waiting time?

  9. The Overlord ~I'm baaaaaaaccccckkk~ says:

Doctor doctor I accidently cut off Jimmy’s arm!

Doctor: Ermmm will her live for another hour?

    No!

Doctor: Tough luck Nurse get a body bag.

  10. herhdehsfh says:

    FIRSTTTTTTTT!!!

  11. Mark says:

Doesn’t the sign mean that the wait at Terre Haute is half the average wait time? Fail fail.

  12. Julya says:

    Just 60 minutes?

At least I can finish my newspaper

  13. shin0bi272 says:

    obama care hits IN early

    • Lindzy of socialized health care and Killer of Xeroxes says:

Hey, don’t blame socialized health care for long wait times, we have a doctor shortage where I am and free health care and I have never had to wait more then 30 minutes to see a doctor when I’ve had to go to emerge. And never have I had to go for a real emergency, just because I didn’t have a family doctor.

      • murky 2.0 says:

Where are you from exactly? Because things with the same name don’t always have the same circumstances, rules, costs, etc. In America we have few general practitioners anymore, already cruel taxes, inescapable and strangling debt and hordes of leeching illegal immigrants that are known to bankrupt many a hospital.

        • Di says:

I rarely have waits in my small town hospital… and when I do, it’s because there is a way more important situation going on with another patient. My two longest waits were when they were trying to revive other patients in the other room. Usually, we are taken care of very quickly. Same with my doctor. I rarely wait in his office. And there has never been a difference from when I had insurance or when I didn’t.

And I’m from the US… have no insurance and the bills that I have the most trouble paying are medical bills. We don’t get sick that often but it happens. It’s pretty pathetic that one 2-day illness can cost four months income…

  14. UKRANiAN says:

This is a failure of funding the adequate staffing necessary to treat the needs of a community. Let this be a stark reminder of the shortcomings of our healthcare system.

Perhaps the nurses wear latex uniforms which take a lot longer to put on?

  15. np says:

It’s because all the hospital employees are former Columbia House employees. Seriously, why did it take 4-6 weeks to get the record you ordered? (Columbia House was in Terre Haute)

  16. roorback says:

    last

  17. DeepInTheHeart says:

60 minutes didn’t actually sound so bad looking at my last visit to the ER.

  18. malkatz says:

It says YOUR (underlined) average wait time is 60 minutes- meaning any other hospital will have you waiting twice as long.

    • uigrad says:

That’s how I read it too. Terre Haute is pretty close to where I live. Their webpage states that 1 hr is the national average:

      http://www.regionalhospital.com/CustomPage.asp?guidCustomContentID={56BB96E9-0AA6-4919-86DA-8BFC6340A26A}

    • Zmar says:

I agree too. This is not a fail, just a poorly worded sign that should change “your” to “any other hospital/ER.” Unless it means that only the person reading the billboard will have to wait an hour, everyone else gets helped in 30mins.

      • Andrew says:

I think it’s advertising on a freeway sign that used to just say “your average wait time is 60 min” until they sold the space to the hospital who wanted to contrast how much quicker their waiting room is than the freeway in peak hour. Maybe not the greatest ad in the world but it’s not a Fail.

  19. Marius says:

Ah, “All things come to those who wait.”
They come, but often come too late.
    ~ Lady Mary M. Currie

  20. SWEN HURLEY says:

That’s pretty funny. Although I’m here in Terre Haute and I’d choose Regional over Union Hospital any day! Last time I was in Union it was almost two hours of listening to people that worked there talk about a party/carry-in they were having. I finally got fed up and left.

  21. Overthought says:

What we have here is failure to fail.

The sign is beside a highway. The hospital has a wait time guarantee of 30 minutes. You, in your car, in traffic, currently have a wait time of 60 minutes. It’s meant to be a clever comparison. Perhaps too clever for the poster?

    • Iagree says:

You’re right. That is clearly the point here. The failure is by the person who posted this, for not thinking it through.

      • r€nato says:

It’s clear as mud. I didn’t get it at all.

        • Me lives in Terre Haute says:

3rd street, but it’s on a highway, yes. Alot of complaints have been filed for stupid traffic light synchronization.

but they’re on a waiting list.

but no really, Regional gets very busy, and the hospital is only 10 minutes walking distance from that billboard. Not sure if that matters… :) but yeah.

    • no says:

its not a major highway and there would never be that long of a wait in terre haute on that highway btw, so i believe you just failed.

  22. Noion says:

“Help doctor! I have 60 seconds to live!”

    “Just a minute”

  23. andremus3 says:

the thing that made me laugh the most was the fact that its from terre haute XDXDXD

  24. swimmer07 says:

Hahaha I drive past that billboard on the way to school! I can’t stand Terre Haute!

  25. Person from Terre Haute says:

    Terre Haute has MANY fails…..

  26. gosauce says:

Im pretty sure the wait time is for traffic or something, and the billboard is sponsored by a hospital trying to advertise its “short” ER wait time.

  27. Me lives in Terre Haute says:

I died of laughter when i saw this.

I probably wouldn’t have, but the ER had a 1 hr wait.

  28. Amanda says:

I love that my hometown made the Fail Blog!

  29. Mat says:

i live next to terre haute and i almost had a heart attack laughing at this, then i thought this is probally not the best time

  30. Jordan B**** says:

Who the hell is this character who posted this?

  31. Lain says:

I, too, love that my hometown made the Fail Blog! When traveling through Terre Haute, my daughter and I always look to see what the wait time is on the signs. It’s usually over 30 minutes, though the other night it was only 4 minutes. I’ve wanted to call and ask if it’s over 30 minutes, does that mean my visit is free?

    • Tigerlily says:

I do the same with my son every time we drive by it too! We all think it’s hilarious and laugh every time we see it.

  32. Bailey says:

Oh, Terre Houte. just when i though your hospital couldn’t get any worse.

  33. CrazyINCatLady says:

This made my day! I used to live in that town and I always thought it was full of fail, but this just confirms my theory!

  34. DOBA says:

Love that this made the fail blog! =) I drive by it all the time and the wait is frequently more than 30 minutes… sometime 31 or 32, but 60 is thehighest i’ve seen it. I dont think it can show more than 60 =)

Some people seem confused… the time in red updates several times a day to reflect the current average wait time. It should stay less than thirty, but like I said it frequently is over 30 minutes. Also ive seen it be 0 before too.

    • heather says:

Oh, it can show more than 60. About a month ago (morning of July 5th, I believe), it said 99 minutes. There’s only room for 2 digits though. I just pictured the waiting room full of hungover rednecks with their arms and digits blown off by fireworks.

  35. Rainyria says:

Seems about par for good ol’ Terre Haute. Glad I have moved elsewhere.

  36. haute girl says:

Yeah even with a 30 minute promise just means they will take ur tempature I waited 10 hrs for them to do a examine on me when I was having a miscarriage

  37. Delani says:

    THATS MY TOWN. HAHAHAHAHHAHA.

  38. Not sure says:

Im not sure, but i think this is to promote driving to speed limit. so if someone was driving 85mph the number will change to 85 minute wait.

    something similar to this

    http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/200909/speed-limit-billboar_460x0w.jpg

    im not sure.

    • Goddss6 says:

ummmm no it’s updates during the day to let people know the current wait time for the hospital… It has NOTHING do do with your speed…

  39. chris says:

this is great, im actually from terre haute and it does mean ER waiting time. useally the sign says either 13 mins or 20; and its actually updated with the actual average wait time from the hospital; but so much for that 30 min promise lol

  40. Charles says:

WOO I LIVE IN TERRIBLE HAUTE!!!! WOOOOO.. yeah we suck not gonna lie.

  41. Amanda says:

I live in the city where this pic was taken. It is rarely under 30 mins. Always a joke among Terre Haute…. =]
