All signs point to bill frist.
Are you not supposed to say FIRST?
Refreshingly, 17R3W refrained from firsting.
They probably ‘shopped out the “-age” off of Hermit, as in “hermitage”. Definition: “a hermit’s dwelling place *or* a place of relaxing retreat”, since hikers are being pointed that way.
Hermit Trail is actually a fairly popular named trial in the Grand Canyon NP. There is a Hermit Creek, Hermit’s Rest, Hermit Road there, also. No hermit crabs, though, as far as I know.
Yes it’s the hermit trail. Unfortunately there is no hermit at the end to point and laugh at.
It’s actually the one near Revelstoke BC (that’s a Parks Canada sign).
Hermit trail access is very simple, just past (2km) the visitor center at Roger’s pass (going Eastbound), you will see a well marked parking area, trail map, and trail access (see pics below). This trail is within the Glacier National Park in B.C. You get there by taking the trans-Canada Highway, and, you’ll see this trailhead on the left when approaching from the East.
It’s not an easy trail though, as it’s steep, at a 27% grade. The Hermit meadows are a great destination, and the views incredible. You’ll climb from 4200 ft at the parking lot to over 7500 feet in 2.8km. Make sure you are fit. Once in the meadows, many climbers, camp, and then plan ascents to ‘Hermit’ at 10,200 feet.
Aug! Informative text on a humor site! Make it stop. MAKE IT STOP!
I said about the same thing before i saw your comment. Rottiluv, NO ONE… CARES… AT… ALL!
Hey, thanks! I was wondering where this was at, since I work in the same building with Parks Canada (I didn’t know where the trail was, but I recognized the sign!)
who is the moron who is the 1 person to give this a thumbs down?
It was me.
don’t you need a hermit permit?
NO. Just NO. Just NO.
NO such thing as a hermit permit.
NO.
No. you need Choco-Lax if you want to relax. Maybe some Stool Softener is all.
