I am seriously loving that stool, though. Where did you get it? I bought a similar stool at a consignment store and have never seen another like it. I’d love to find out where it was made. It has a really interesting construction. The legs go all the way through the top and are held in place with wedges.

Which fail, because there are many, poor fashion decisions may ultimately lead to other poor decisions later on in the night. This picture should also be on Poorly Dressed. Unless thosethis picture was taken circa 1991, those are definitely throwbacks that I would definitely have thrown back in the NOOOO WAAAY pile when my mom brought that to me. If my mother had picked that dress out for me, I may have even slapped her to bring her back into this decade.

Back in highschool there was this couple I knew. He was round about… 5’2, and she was about an inch short of 6′. The boy was probably also about 110lbs, while she had a slightly thick amazonian build. It was pretty silly looking. It really looked like she was dating a 6th grader. I think they realized this and they broke up after just a few weeks. A little off point, but worth mentioning I think when everyone says this guy is short.

At first look I didn’t get it, until I moved the mouse wheel down one more click and saw the stool. LOL.

As a fairly tall girl who has dated guys shorter than myself, I can tell you a few things:
1. Sure, she could wear flats and minimize the height difference, but it is fun to wear heels when getting dressed up. It is both easier to find a cute pair of heels to go with a dress than cute flats, and they make your legs look longer and sexier.
2. Though this photo looks like they are just joking around about the height difference, and its probably a friend or parent taking the picture, photographers will sometimes try to get you to pose so that the height difference is less noticeable. When I dated a guy who was a couple inches shorter than me and I wore heels I don’t think anyone ever tried, probably because they would have had to do something silly like this; but when I dated a guy who was the same height as me and I wore heels, I remember going to a dance in high school and getting our picture taken and the photographer tried to move us around and encouraged me to slouch a bit so it wouldn’t be as apparent. A girl doesn’t get all dressed up in a pair of heels and a fitted dress because she wants to slouch, so this would be a reasonable solution if you wanted a guy too look taller in a picture and didn’t mind not showing below the knee.
3. This is probably too cheesy and positive for failblog comments, but don’t dwell on height in your romantic life! I’m not saying that looks don’t matter at all, because physical attraction is important in a relationship, but the average height of a man is ~5’9″ and if you set some arbitrary rule like not dating guys under 6 feet tall you really limit yourself. This is not to say I don’t understand tall women with qualms about dating a man shorter than themselves. Height difference is something people WILL comment on, and beyond being annoying it can exacerbate insecurities. So props to women who will date shorter men, and men who will date taller women. Have a sense of humor like these two and don’t let worries about height hold you back!
4. While height is only one aspect of a person; and I don’t mean to criticize people who may have insecurities about it; but if a guy is about the same height of the girl he is dating (give of take a couple inches) seeing how he reacts to her wearing heels that make her a bit taller than him can potentially be telling about how secure he is in himself. If a guy asks out a girl who is much taller than him chances are he is already plenty confident, but you might want to save the six inch platforms for later in the relationship
Essentially, I think titling this “date fail” was dumb, “stool fail” or “framing fail” might have been more appropriate. However I still have a sense of humor and compared to a few titles I have seen that crossed the line from risqué humor to very offensive, I can’t complain to much. But really, I’m inclined to think this one is a “win”

I love tall. My wife is 6ft tall. I could handle if she were taller than me but I’ve got about .5cm on her. That being said, I wish she’d wear heels and make those sexy legs of hers even more sexy (she’s a bit hesitant to be even taller). I’d have no problem with her wearing heels that put her inches above me. As it is, lots of people check out her feet when they see how tall she is anyways.
