Anyone else think she isn’t being stupid? No one owns a thousand dollar telescope and doesn’t know how to use it.
I mean, look at everyone else. They are looking up at whatever they are trying to see. Her on the other hand, she has flipped the thing around to point the opposite direction and has made it level.
She knew what she was doing.
She was just caught in a silly looking situation. If we were there tho, I bet we would never have turned our heads.
1) It’s not hers, the picture was taken at an International Year of Astronomy event in 2009, where volunteers brought out their telescopes to show the public.
2) I’ve worked in a telescope shop. That’s probably a three hundred dollar instrument.

The first known practically functioning telescopes were invented in the Netherlands at the beginning of the 17th century.
Good thing she isn’t looking through it properly. It appears that her scope lacks a solar filter for observing the Sun – if she looked at the Sun without that filter, she’d fry her eyeballs!
