» 18 Failures in Communication

  1. uigrad says:

I heard this story on the radio. Apparently, it was during an “open house” for the jail, where the community could come in and visit. He was new to the force, and too embarrassed to ask for help, so he decided that shooting his way out was the best solution.

    • Chuck says:

you’d think shooting a gun off in a jail full of civilians would be even more embarrasing than asking for help.

  2. Relyt says:

    Not a news fail :D

    • Anna Rexia says:

Please note that the name of this site is not “newsfail.com”.

      • Relyt says:

“News Fails, because journalism isn’t dying fast enough.”

The author even took the time to capitalize News AND Fails, to emphasize just what this website is all about. ;)

  3. kelainek says:

Who said Barney Fife was dead? He lives!!!!!!!!

  4. echoingmoon says:

Why am I not surprised that this is in Kentucky…

    • DT says:

I don’t know, because you paint everyone in an entire state with the same brush? Does this mean that all people from Louisian speak like Farmer Fran from “The Waterboy,” that all Texans ride horses and own lassoes?

Stepping off my soapbox now. ;)

  5. Smy says:

a Ky deputy eh? If only he had some kind of lubricating fluid to allow him to squeeze through the bars.

  6. BG says:

No, Anna, that is not the title, but it IS the site’s claim regarding its content.

Right under the title at the top of this and every page of the site, it reads:

“News Fails, because journalism isn’t dying fast enough.”

    • Chris S. says:

Well, it IS a fail that made the news…

I like to think of this site as the internet’s equivalent of Jay Leno’s “Headlines” segment.

On a side note, this means that Leno is now obsolete…

  7. Anna says:

I’m extremely claustrophobic and could reasonably see myself attempting anything, even something that my rational self knows wouldn’t work, to get out of a confining space like a jail cell.

  8. =p says:

Lord, I am so ashamed for my state right now…

  9. Kedi says:

I remember reading about this.. felt bad for the guy o-o

  10. Loupielusfails says:
