He had to misspell “Bastard”. If he hadn’t, he would not have been able to advertise the movie or avoid a severe restricted rating in a lot of countries.
Actually, “inglourious” is just the British/Canadian way of spelling “inglorious”, so it isn’t really misspelled, if you’re from the British Commonwealth.
i don’t know about that- i work with a guy in a wheelchair, and he’s pretty athletic- i’m not sure exactly what his issue is, he’s not paralyzed or anything, but he can’t “walk” in the ordinary sense of the word- he can stand and hobble around if he has something to hang on to- but in any case, he’s not the type of guy to let his body wither away just because he can’t go for a jog.
I think too many people confuse Christopher REEVE with George REEVES. Both played Superman. It was Christopher Reeve who really was a Superman.
And, I believe this guy really is physically handicapped. That costume is composed of fake muscles.
Wow…..this is one of the most offensive things I’ve ever seen. I hope that wherever this guy was headed in that outfit and wheelchair, someone beat the holy crap out of him! He deserves it.
It’s only a fail if you trying to do something and FAILED at it….this is supreme, flaming idiocy.
Wow, if this is one of the most offensive things you’ve ever seen, I recommend that you finally emerge from whatever rock you’ve been sheltering under and buck up.
Agree, the nightly news is way more full of offensive things and don’t get me started on commercials during football games during which my son has to cover his eyes.
The trach is supposed to allow him to breath indicating that he is unable to breath on his own. However if that WAS his injury, he would have a powerchair. He is obviously healthy. this is just sick.
Yeah, because making a costume that references a famous person, if he is a quadriplegic, is automatically mocking him, and not just him but all quadriplegics everywhere. You can’t have humor without disparaging everyone associated with the topic of your humor.
This thread is oversensitivity fail. The costume is win.
Good point! Also how else would you show it was Reeve that you where paying tribute to in your superman Outfit and not one of the many other people who have played superman or just a tribute the the Character of superman its self?
Reeves wanted to kill babies to steal their stem cells without their consent (while we now know that fetus stem cells are useless in healing). I vote WIN!
I know plenty of folks who voted for him twice. He wasn’t elected twice, sure, but some folks voted for him twice. I know some people who would have voted for him a third time if they had been given the chance!
Now, those folks are not friends of mine, but they are related to me.
Yeah, my father’s side of the family thinks exactly the same thing. This makes for awkward family gatherings. I’ve finally convinced them that there are some topics best avoided when we all get together. Not that that stops them all the time.
He Was and is a Giant jack ass he also was a giant Corporate puppet after money and Daddy’s approval! As Eminem said “strap him with an AK- 47 let him go let him impress daddy that way!”
I believe it is the duty of all politicians to lie cheat steal double cross and be puppets once they have any power at all! or is it just me?
There is the possibility that it’s just you. But, politicians are a tricksy breed, so who knows? I like to think there are a few good ones still out there. Somewhere.
Please tell me you are joking. You OBVIOUSLY just listen to what your pastor tells you instead of actually researching it yourself. You should be sterilized.
Stem cell research is one of the most forward fields there is. As for wanting to kill babies your a retard, He was for the use of the stem cells from babies that where to be aborted anyway. So what he was for was that so that Fetus didn’t die in vain!
Stupid Uneducated people who just don’t think or don’t care that they don’t know sweet f all about something
I am in fact a a south park fan and if the original comment had shown even the slightest reference to the show I wouldnt have commented the way i did but………
And I do think this Picture is funny as i did the reeve’s episode so…….
There’s a big difference between being aborted and never being implanted. We’re talking about clusters of 16 cells here. An embryo is not a human being just as an acorn is not an oak tree. In any case, it ought to be up to the couple who created the embryos to decide what is done with them. Stem cell research is cutting edge, potentially life-changing science that is being squashed by knee jerk emotionally-based religious dogma that doesn’t understand the science involved, and that is the biggest fail I know.
An embryo is like an acorn that has sprouted, though. In order to get an embryo, you must first plant a seed so that it can grow, otherwise you just have a random egg. If you’re going to spout science like you know it, use the proper terminology in the correct way.
If it takes a chicken and a half, a day and a half, to lay an egg and a half…
.
How many monkeys does it take to kick all the seeds out of a dill pickle?
An acorn (w/respect to a tree) is NOT like an embryo (w/r/t a child or adult human), more like a foetus… and it is pretty darned far down the road past a 16-cell cluster, much less a simple fertilized cell! Your “corrected” terminology is far from correct!
Plus, the main thing christians have against the use of research into stem cells is that it can be taken from the ambilical (spelling fail?) cord and not the foetus, eliminating any need for an abortion.
Also just because you believe an embryo isn’t a human doesn’t mean your right.
I do love how people complain about how dogmatic Christians are without realising their own blind almost ‘religious’ belief in an ideal whereby they leave no room for anyone elses opinion.
see, that’s the problem- religious people are anti-abortion. stem cells can be harvested from abortions. stem cells can also be harvested from other sources. but until they stop harvesting from abortions, _all_ stem cell research must be looked at with scorn? that makes no sense.
and there generally is a difference in the dogma- yes, each side wants to limit the others behavior, but it’s one side wanting to make it’s own choices free of interference, versus the other side wanting the state to uphold its desire to interfere with other people’s choices.
Actually, embryonic stem cell research has yet to product any viable therapies. Meanwhile, adult stem cell research has consistently proven useful. I’ve also read about a case where the skin cells of mice’s tails has been turned into neurons, eliminating the need for stem cells entirely. The only reason companies are so interested in embryonic stem cell research is because they can patent the results, unlike with adult stem cell research where the results can’t be patented.
I’m pretty sure that he never mentioned his pastor, so by definition that is not obvious. Maybe he did research it himself, and this is what he came up with. Sure, he’d be wrong (not to mention retarded for expressing a view like that on Failblog), but at least he’s only being presumptuous and not inserting random information he doesn’t have, declaring it “obvious” AND showing the world a hateful prejudice against an entire religion (that would be YOU).
I was indeed Christopher Reeve. It was purposefully done in bad taste. The wheel chair was an extra one my neighbor had in his garage.
That costume SWEPT costume contests.
It was only awkward when a gentleman who actually used a wheel chair showed up to a party that I was attending. I froze, and felt awful. He told me “That’s a funny as hell costume man”.
If anyone had a right to be pissed or ” beat the holy crap out of [me]! Because ….. He deserves it.” It would have been him.
The costume is a joke, if you’re offended, I apologize.
Jesus Christ, get over it. You make it seem like became a quadriplegic or died yesterday. Honestly if you feel the need to be offended by something that doesn’t involve you in the very least, then by all means do so in private, but don’t go around and tell people how awful they are for having a sense of humor.
I would just like to take this time to ask that all people who prefer to have Political Correctness in society please go DIE IN A FIRE. BURN TO A PILE OF ASHES AND QUIT RUINING MODERN SOCIETY. Thank you for your time.
agreed. what’s funny is, things that are considered “offensive” by the PC nazis are the same terms that were once considered safe, even clinical- retarded is a perfect example. the word simply means delayed, it’s been used in many contexts – internal combustion engine ignition timing for example- so it would seem to make sense to apply it to a person whose mental capacities developed more slowly than most. but now, it’s considered a rude insult.
african american is one pc term that bugs me greatly- for one, the obvious, it’s a joke to apply the term to anyone outside of america- but more subtly, what do you call a visiting nigerian? on the other hand, if a person’s family has been here for hundreds of years, how meaningful is the continent their ancestors came from? i don’t have any desire to be called a “european american”… and of course, “native american” is a misnomer as well, native simply means born here, so in that sense, i am a native american…
Never Apologize its pointless the message never gets to those who deserve it and to many others think its owed to them I’d have a guess that Reeve would have found it funny he was known to make cripple jokes about himself more than once so screw em!
Oh yeah, well, I’d shoot your entire family if I ever saw you, and all their pets! Then I’d burn down every city your family ever considered living in!
Man, pretending to be an internet tough guy is so much fun. Tell me, Hulk, how many people in your life have you actually curb stomped? (now, as an internet tough guy, you make up a number larger than zero and proudly crow it at us to show us how big your epeen is. Then you challenge me to doubt you with threats against my person if we ever met)
HAHAHAHA! I laugh at you, internet tough guy! I break wind in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!
Yeah, I love that you find it in poor taste to make a costume of Christopher Reeve–which you find to be mocking him, and you make this proclamation under the failblog login Hollowcaust–which of course MUST be making fun of the Holocaust. So it’s ok to mock the killing of millions in gruesome ways, but it’s terrible to mock one celebrity who suffered from a debilitating injury. Unless neither is mocking anything, in which case, where’s the poor taste exactly?
I don’t know who the hell Christopher Reeve is. When I saw this, I saw a disabled guy in a wheelchair dressed as a super hero, and then a bunch of jerks laughing at him. Get lost, troll.
Just go with the Germans and remember the remarkable word “Shadenfreude” which, in lamen’s terms means, “You fall down and I laugh at you.” Its similar to killjoy, but better because it means you CAN laugh about this kind of stuff. A highly doubt Christopher Reeve looks down and says “I feel violated” when he sees someone wearing this costume. In a sense, its a round about way of showing respect for the man. IMO.
Well Chistopher Reeve should be able to fly now, he’s dead and incorporeal… He should be able to right?
And this is a win. poor taste and messed up but win
How is this a fail? So what if he’s in a wheel chair? It’s stupid of you people to call it a fail just because of that. Now if it were an Ironman costume, yeah… that would be a fail. This is totally a WIN.
If the chair is part of the costume- huge fail for gross insensitivity.
If the chair is real, then its a great big win.
There’s no way to know from the picture alone.
I would have said it shouldnt have been posted at all because that key information is unknown, but no one asked me.
Lot of hypocrisy in these comments. This is hardly the first photo that was in questionable taste, and now because people loved Superman and Christopher Reeve, its a horrible thing? It was ok to laugh at the misfortune of others but not this time around?
I knew that someone had to have already said exactly what I was thinking… we’ve laughed at obesity, racism, special needs people, and the homeless, just to name a few…
Christopher REEVE (for you nitpickers) was an arrogant ass. Not that he deserved what happened to him. But he never cared a bit about the plight of the disabled until he became disabled. Then he was a whining, sniveling baby. The costume was funny. Those of you that are offened need to get over yourselves.
This is offensive. The fact that a fan wearing Christopher Reeve’s costume in a wheelchair is considered a fail is disheartening. In my opinion this is a win! Christopher Reeve was an amazing man, a great actor and did many great things in his lifetime. This picture with the caption “fail” should be taken down.
1. Offensive? Definitely. Really, really poor taste.
2. Funny? Pretty much.
3. Clever? Yeah. Who sits around and thinks, “I have a Superman costume, a neckbrace, some tubing and my neighbor has a wheelchair. Hmmmm…”?
The man who’s in the photo already said that another handicapped person he met thought this was funny. That doesn’t excuse it, but I’m just sayin’.
OTOH, NOBODY seems to think it’s in bad taste to dress up as Freddy Krueger. The character was a burn victim and CHILD MOLESTOR!!!!!
They never said in the movies the Fred Kruger molested children, only that he murdered him. One might argue that they implied tht he did other things to them first, but it is only implied , never actually stated.
Or perhaps it’s not even implied, but simply inferred by people who watch the movie, or, more likely, have merely heard about it, since most people who denounce Freddy as merely a child molester or slasher have never actually seen any of the movies in their entirety.
On the other hand, Christopher Reeve did actually break his neck and end up in a wheelchair while Freddy Krueger didn’t actually kill any children as he is fictional, and so were the children.
I writed:
“The character was a burn victim and CHILD MOLESTOR!!!!!”
Oh, Jeez. Did i misspell “molester?” Really, it doesn’t help to be someone schooling people on how dumb they are if you don’t bother to proofread your comments. Maybe I should’ve thrown a random “1″ into those exclamation points for good measure.
This is the most tasteless and offensive things I’ve ever seen on the site. Not only it insults Christopher Reeve, but to an extent, it also offends the man who played Superman in the original TV series, George Reeves.
have any of you people that are saying this is offensive even thought that the guy in the wheel chair might actually be handicap and wanted to dress up as superman, not even thinking about making fun of christopher reeve….? idk, just something to think about…..
Yes, yes she did! It all went well, PLUS my step=father likes him too! It went quite well, actually. Most of the conversation revolved around movies so we all had something to talk about.
I doubt it very much. This kid(not a man)wasn’t clearly thinking when he got past the superman outfit and sat in the wheelchair.
Christopher Reeve was a very talented actor and an inspiration to many for awareness of spinal injuries and support for research.
It’s not a joke and it seems that only the MATURE adults here understand that this pic is in poor taste.
This guy is my hero. you cant make fun of this guy. how hard would it be to wake up with a breathing tube and wheel chair and still have the self determination to dress up as superman. i shun all who insult him.
Yes, the joke was offensive. That’s why it was funny.
I consider finding this picture on fail blog a huge success. I’m a big fan, one of the only photo blogs I check regularly.
Sure, I wish it had been submitted as a win, and I thank all of the passionate blog posters who supported and got the joke. But I’m happy with any sort of presence on fail blog.
Regretfully, I have yet to be able to top the offensiveness of this costume. That photo was taken in 2005, and it’s still fresh in many people’s minds.
Once again, if this photo offends you. I’m sorry, but that’s kind of the point.
Oh, don’t worry, most of us regulars got the joke AND thought it was funny. At least, I think so. I for one think the costume great! I also have gotten into hot water over costumes before…
I am disabled, and I do use a wheelchair, and I think this is pretty damn funny! Life is far too short to take seriously. For Halloween I dressed up as a devil and was Hell on Wheels. I applaud your creativity, and I think you will find many people with disabilities or medical issues appreciate a good dark sense of humor.
i’m surprised that my buddy didn’t submit this himself. yes, he is supposed to be christopher reeve, this was the halloween just after his death. we got harassed left and right that night, which was the point. epic win!
I think the guy is genuinely handicapped. His hands and fingers look wasted and atrophied. Legs are harder to tell because of the angle and the costume. I say outlook and sense of humor WIN.
Almost as bad as the time I went to a costume party dressed up as JFK with half a head. If you can’t make fun of the maimed and disabled, who can you make fun of?
WHAHAH STFU PPL! that funny! Don’t go and hate like yeah hope he breals his neck. Ur even worse then.
He made a fking WIN!.
Partly becausee he made wait with typing till I was done rofling xD
I know the guy, he is healthy, and can walk. And unless he has an exact twin who wore the exact costume, and jacked the same kinda wheelchair from the back of walmart, then I know this guy. Epic win.
Dude, you are so awesome. This is a total WIN! You have always had the best costumes. Even in high school. I vote that all of your costumes are EPIC WINS!! I miss your fantastic personality and wonderful sense of humor!
The tubes are from an aquarium, the superman costume was from a Halloween super store, and the most expensive part of the whole thing. The neck brace was purchased at a CVS.
This is a total win, the guy has a sense of humor and the personal drive to move forward in spite of his own personal hardships. He can take a joke and be one of the guys. God bless him on this.
Note: He is NOT dressing up like Christopher Reeve, NOR is he dressed like superman.
Reeve did not wear a superman costume in his wheelchair and
Superman did not have a wheelchair at all.
He is actually mixing character and actor in this costume and by doing so he is the first impersonation of the irony we all know as the fact that the superman actor was in a wheelchair. That’s an Epic Win to me.
Did some guy in a wheelchair get dressed up as Superman for Halloween, only to have everyone on the internet make fun of him for his handicap? Sad. :¬(
C’mon people, dont make fun of someone with a handicap. Grow up.
You wouldn’t like people making fun of you if you (God Forbid) happen to lose your legs/break your neck in an accident but love a character so much you want to wear a costume like him.
Don’t be such retards now! There’s gotta be many more opportunities to find stuff worth laughing at other than this one, so pass this one for now.
Wait, you say “don’t make fun of someone with a handicap”, then call everyone “retards”. Yeah, that is offensive to people with mental disabilities. In short, you are making fun of people with handicaps.
come on guys, the wheelchair is fake. he’s impersonating christofer reeves, and it’s discusting. that’s why there’s that tube too. CR had one to breathe
I use a wheelchair and was Christopher Reeve two halloweens ago. Although, I wore a skirt, trying to go for more of a SuperGirl look, the idea was still the same. I was going with the insider v. outsider rule to an extent. And that guy is not a regular wheelchair user. It is possible that he is temporally injured, however no regular wheelchair user under 50 uses that type of chair!
Epic F-ing insta-win!!!!!!!! This is GREAT and it looks like a decent quality costume too.
Better than some skank in a “timmy’s ho” costume. THAT is fail, imo.
Well it seems you people don’t have hearts. How would you like it if you were disbaled and people teased you like you are teasing him. Don’t judge someone untill you walk (or wheel) a mile in their shoes
Looks like he rather should be going as Lex Luthor.
Lex Steel?
No, looks more like he’s dressed up as Christopher Reeve.
I hope that guy breaks his neck. we’ll see what’s funny then
Christopher Reeve is exactly who I thought of
well, he got it right, right down to the neck, so its a win for me.
This is just wrong on sooooo many levels
GO GOOGLE: load/epic_fail/fail_pictures/handicap_access_fail/8-1-0-373
It’s in poor taste, but it is very clever.
If the guy is in a wheelchair for real, though, I would consider it a stroke of genius.
I’d say he is wheelchair-bound, considering his sneakers are visible below the feet of the Superman suit, and the suit has it’s own boots.
anybody have some cripplenite
My first thought was that he was already wheelchair bound, and that this was a genius outfit. Could be the other way around. But I call win.
Ha, you said Stroke.
That’s probably why he’s in the wheelchair.
Win.
it’s honestly not that clever!
No, honestly it’s pretty funny.
Stroke of genius? thats cold!
this is a win!!
jajaa
yeh man! costume WIN!
I wonder if he wears diapers too…
THIS IS A DAMN WIN!
Agreed, this is totally a win!
Hear, hear. This is no fail. It’s got ‘win’ written all over it.
Win indeed
definitely a win
yup This is by far a WIN!!
Reeve was a douche good riddance
and you are a basterd
Quentin Tarantio couldn’t spell either.
It’s the thought that counts.
I agree, I just saw the movie recently so it’s fresh in my memory/
Tarantino*
He had to misspell “Bastard”. If he hadn’t, he would not have been able to advertise the movie or avoid a severe restricted rating in a lot of countries.
That misspell saved him a lot of cash.
He had permission from the original director. That original director is even IN the “re-make”!
A lot of the time misspellings are deliberate, so they can copyright the name. This is why you see things like “cheez” and “kleen”.
biped already corrected you, but i have to remark that you seem not to know how to spell tarantino, either
Nope, I don’t, and I even asked someone else!
He also mispelled “Inglorious”, for the record, so I’m pretty sure it’s on purpose.
Actually, “inglourious” is just the British/Canadian way of spelling “inglorious”, so it isn’t really misspelled, if you’re from the British Commonwealth.
no its not. if it was then we would spell glory as gloury. which we dont.
You’re an idiot.
Thank-you for saying that for me.
Were you closely acquainted with Mr. Reeve–or just harboring some pent up jealousy?
So I’m thinking that you’ll be slightly offended by my Stephen Hawking costume next Halloween?
In effect, it is no fail. It’s just a guy dressed up as an actor.
What if the guy is actually handicapped and just wanted to dress up as superman ._.’
Doubtful. Look at his legs. Folks who have been in a wheelchair more than a few months lose most of their leg muscle.
So, it’s not possible that the guy in the picture was recently injured?
zing!
Possible. Not likely. However you get the pedantic award.
that costume’s already pretty padded the legs could be padded too
i don’t know about that- i work with a guy in a wheelchair, and he’s pretty athletic- i’m not sure exactly what his issue is, he’s not paralyzed or anything, but he can’t “walk” in the ordinary sense of the word- he can stand and hobble around if he has something to hang on to- but in any case, he’s not the type of guy to let his body wither away just because he can’t go for a jog.
To be precise, it’s a regular human being in a costume.
Are you sure?
What else would it be?
Superman in a wheel chair? He was hit by a kryptonite mallet
cripplenite my fine sir
That is a costume win in my book.
Great deducing skills, Buzz Killington.
i think he actually is going as christopher reeve
Can’t be dressed as Christopher Reeve, where are the dead embryo’s at?
GOOGLE: load/epic_fail/fail_pictures/handicap_access_fail/8-1-0-373
hahahaha how is this a fail!! its really funny, he got i right on
fail?!
that’s a goddamn win!
W
I
N
no, this is a total win
Indeed
no man, this is a total win
http://sobreltintero.wordpress.com/
What’s the opposite of Christopher Walken? Christopher Reeves.
omg. that was so wrong :-p
HA HA! that’s funny
whats the opposite of superman?
christopher walken
i guess the thought doesn’t count after all =o
first
you failed first
You’re right. Infact I was second. But whatever
first
you failed second
LMAO
you failed third!
Yes. Yes, you are. You can cross that off today’s to-do list.
Well, one has to be first a something in one’s life… might as well be this then.
Well done!
It would only be a win if the guy really had to use a wheelchair, but his legs look healthy to me.
So I vote FAIL.
He’s dressed as Christopher Reeves. I vote – very bad taste.
Agreed, that is so not right.
I vote with you.
If you voted against her, would it be very bad taste?
Fail. It’s Christopher Reeve. I vote fluffy learns how to spell and pronounce the man’s name correctly.
I vote that adding an S to his last name isn’t that big of a deal.
I vote that Christopher Reeves is a completely separate (and completely hilarious) famous person and as such the S is important.
I VOTE SOI SOI SOI
Troll overload! The pure ammount of troll was just too much.
He dressed up as Christopher Reeve. He dressed up as Christopher Reeves.
Well, I say he only dressed up as one Christopher Reeve, so I vote that adding an ‘s’ is a big deal.
Apparently I’m losing this voting outing
Nope. I think you’re right OT, loladha. Come stay and play always…..
I think too many people confuse Christopher REEVE with George REEVES. Both played Superman. It was Christopher Reeve who really was a Superman.
And, I believe this guy really is physically handicapped. That costume is composed of fake muscles.
Good thing we have your vote. I’ll go notify the guy. Bloody useless internet people.
You are our guiding light.
I thought I was your guiding light…
To say that to you would be an utterance of truth. To say that to her/him is to be a sarcastic pain.
Etiquette question. Is it okay for me to disembowel Sgt_Hawkins?
Not a question of etiguette. A question of morals.
Etti-what?
I wasn’t going to mention it. I decided to baguette.
Mushrooms and now bread. Can you tell that I haven’t had dinner yet?
*runs away very quickly*
Are you sure that it is not a question of morels? I think that it’s a fungus.
I agree, this post as a fail and all the comments are in appalingly bad taste
agree with Myrna, if the guy is actually disabled it is a sense of humour and outlook win… Otherwise kinda poor taste
first
you failed third
A lot of ‘first’ fails today huh?
Serves em right
Do you think they gave it THAT much effort?!?
Oh dear.
Gosh.
Oh dear indeed.
sming.
Ting
ring a ding ding
wrong hair cut – FAIL
Kind of messed up
“kind of” would be quite the understatement.
~”kind have” prolly would of been better!~
yet another first
yet another fail
Yet another fail in life.
its the color of the boots that makes his legs look healthy I think
I say win, but it would be even more of an win if he had some kryptonite.
second
failond
this lookes like my next door neigbor lol
Your next door neighbor is Superman-in-a-wheelchair?
haha no hes a guy who has the same hair and face lol and would do something so dumb like this
That’s just wrong on so many levels.
lol mullets
I once saw an actual wheelchair user dress as Superman for Halloween one year… but if he’s not a chair user, then this is in very bad taste.
My thoughts exactly. If he’s actually as broken as the photo implies, then this is an epic win. If he’s not, then he’s just a doucherocket.
It’s a WIN!!!
WIN
I’m with you fellers.
Me too. Of course it’s inappropriate and in bad taste. That’s also why I’m laughing right now.
so not funny. it’s like mocking christopher reeves, rip. big fail.
Once again. . . It’s Christopher Reeve. Not Reeves, Failers. . .
Its not like he’s going to beat him up or anything.
I don’t care what everyone else says. Costume Win.
Exactly!! All you people who are devoid of humor should go eat a bullet. This costume is both win and hysterical.
I would have gone with “should go fall off a horse” but apparently we are being PC today.
Seriously failblog harden up. It is funny.
Damn!!! “Fall off a horse” would have been perfect!! Good call.
Reminds me of the best page in the universe, I say it’s a win
Wow…..this is one of the most offensive things I’ve ever seen. I hope that wherever this guy was headed in that outfit and wheelchair, someone beat the holy crap out of him! He deserves it.
It’s only a fail if you trying to do something and FAILED at it….this is supreme, flaming idiocy.
Welcome to the internet! failblorg will use anything to get attention so get used to the inappropriate big fail text in the corner.
wait, fail Blorg? is that the Calvin and Hobbes Martian version of fail blog?
Welcome To Fail BLORG. You Will Be Assimilated. Resistance is FAIL.
Ok, so if he’s really handicapped, he’s not allowed to go dressed as his favorite superhero because that offends you?
Well, since most of the folks who would be offended, would also be confined to wheelchairs, the guy is probably safe.
Win. Albeit not the most tasteful win.
That’s what I was going to say: tasteless WIN.
Very wrong. I vote very bad taste!! No tack.
I have no tack, but plenty of tact.
Don’t you get it…? “Tack”…. “Fall off horse”… Tack… Horse…? Maybe Reeve tried to ride without the proper gear and so fell off.
Yes, I know, that’s tacky.
Just like this FAIL!
I think this is a FAIL
If this guy REALLY needs a wheelchair, then I consider this a costume win.
He really needs a wheelchair to complete the costume.
This costume is terrible. I hope this guy realizes it now.
win!!11
All together now “They see me rolling, they hating”
Actually laughing right now. That’s what was going through my head the first time I looked at it.
It’s WIN!
The trach is supposed to allow him to breath indicating that he is unable to breath on his own. However if that WAS his injury, he would have a powerchair. He is obviously healthy. this is just sick.
Yes it is. Don’t you love it?
the flexible tube is wrong
but if he’s really sitting in a wheel chair, the rest is rather a win
This should be a WIN!
seriously, total win.
WIN!
That’s not even a fail. That’s being a dumb-ass jerk.
It seems a WIN to me.
I think you guys are too sensitive. Unless Christopher Reeves was your uncle of something, just get over it. This is a win to me.
~Yeah, because it’s hilarious to make fun of quadripalegics~
Yeah, because making a costume that references a famous person, if he is a quadriplegic, is automatically mocking him, and not just him but all quadriplegics everywhere. You can’t have humor without disparaging everyone associated with the topic of your humor.
This thread is oversensitivity fail. The costume is win.
Good point! Also how else would you show it was Reeve that you where paying tribute to in your superman Outfit and not one of the many other people who have played superman or just a tribute the the Character of superman its self?
maybe he’s saying quadriplegics are super?
Christopher Reeves WIN!!
You kidding? This is a major win right here!
Reeves wanted to kill babies to steal their stem cells without their consent (while we now know that fetus stem cells are useless in healing). I vote WIN!
^Probably someone who voted in Bush twice.
General BondFan4518
No he didn’t vote for Bush twice, No one did.
Most people didn’t vote for once!
I know plenty of folks who voted for him twice. He wasn’t elected twice, sure, but some folks voted for him twice. I know some people who would have voted for him a third time if they had been given the chance!
Now, those folks are not friends of mine, but they are related to me.
Meh you can choose your friends ………………………
But not your realatives, yeah, believe me, I KNOW.
We must share relatives. They’re still convinced he was a fabulous president who did everything right.
Somewhere.
There are good ones you know the one the one that at the moment has no power but oh so great are his or her standards and ethics
Then they get in and its all no i never said id do that and i never made those promises and oh that quote is out of context!
It seems to be the rule not the exception for politicians to go corrupt with in minutes of being sworn/signed in!
That’s what I love about you Avis, always so optimistic. Delusional maybe but still optimistic.
.
I am so happy to see you still post here.
bush was my hero, remember in 1st grade when they said anyone could be president? well he proved that retards could
plus he was great to make fun of
In fact, he wasn’t elected once, either.
LOL, it’s amazing how remarkably uninformed (read: STUPID) people can be.
LOL, obviously MadManPirate is not a South Park fan. TV reference fail for you!
4
I will need to see your work for that answer.
The monkeys ate it.
Finally someone actually knowledgeable on the subject instead of those who just parrot what they’ve been told.
Poor taste? On FAILBLOG?! NEVER!
I know! What a preposterous claim.
We wouldn’t know how.
Irony win.
I’ll bet Christopher Reeve’s getting a kick out of this from the astral plateau.
I’ll bet he isn’t, he can’t move his legs
I’m pretty sure this is win.
WIN
Hi, That’s Me.
Ever heard about Political Correctness?
Jesus Christ, get over it. You make it seem like became a quadriplegic or died yesterday. Honestly if you feel the need to be offended by something that doesn’t involve you in the very least, then by all means do so in private, but don’t go around and tell people how awful they are for having a sense of humor.
f@#$ political correctness.
Seriously. Good going. That’s the kind of costume I’d do if I’d thought of it.
Yep, and I am sick to death of hearing about it!
<2nd try, forgot about the failblog censors)
F**k political correctness
I say EPIC WIN. It’s funny and your clever for thinking of it. People who are offended have no sense of humor.
You win. I used to work with “quads”. Most of them would have either laughed hysterically or at least grinned widely.
Never Apologize its pointless the message never gets to those who deserve it and to many others think its owed to them I’d have a guess that Reeve would have found it funny he was known to make cripple jokes about himself more than once so screw em!
Most disabled people DO make jokes about their conditions. I know I joke about mine, and I found this absolutely hilarious!
If you’re the kip man, I miss you bro, long time since VJing together
OH! That totally is kipper! I think he’s near the airport lounge! I wasn’t sure at first but now that you said it, I’m convinced.
Win – If you can’t laugh at other people’s misfortunes, what can you laugh at?
I laugh at your misfortune of not having sense of humor.
first
last…i’m original
Seth MacFarlane sense of humor EPIC WIN!!!
I’d curb stomp this prick if i saw this. Not even remotely funny.
Let me guess: you’re white, male, 14, live in the suburbs, and are usually picked last for teams in gym class.
Wow, we really might be related! That’s EXACTLY what I thought when I read his comment!
hmm, yes that seems to be an appropriate level of punishment…douche
HAHAHAHA! I laugh at you, internet tough guy! I break wind in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!
Now go f–k yourself.
You guys are all wrong… the right costume for this boy is stephan hawkings (Y)
WIN imo
wow people are waay too sensitive.. this costume is hillarious
This isn’t funny. :/
agreed
Yeah, I love that you find it in poor taste to make a costume of Christopher Reeve–which you find to be mocking him, and you make this proclamation under the failblog login Hollowcaust–which of course MUST be making fun of the Holocaust. So it’s ok to mock the killing of millions in gruesome ways, but it’s terrible to mock one celebrity who suffered from a debilitating injury. Unless neither is mocking anything, in which case, where’s the poor taste exactly?
Speaking of which, have you noticed how many of the auto-generated avatars (yours included) are swastika-analogs?
I don’t know who the hell Christopher Reeve is. When I saw this, I saw a disabled guy in a wheelchair dressed as a super hero, and then a bunch of jerks laughing at him. Get lost, troll.
Failbloggers often laugh at the disabled, the obese, and the ugly.
While most failbloggers are probably NOT the former, they’re probably the latter two.
And proud of it too. So what’s yer point?
Anyone else notice that he looks like a young Tourretes Guy?
WIN
Not funny. Very offensive. Bad taste. Fail.
Aww… this is effed up man…
This is a costume win (or offensive fail) because the man who played superman in many of the early movies broke his neck and became paralyzed.
You don’t say?!
Oh thanks Private Obvious. (don’t even thing about being promoted to corporal much less Captain.)
thanks man, the previous 200 comments hadnt made that clear
Its Christopher Reeve!!!!!!!!!!
IMO.
Wow, aren’t you the scholar?!
Schadenfreude means taking enjoyment from someone else’s pain or troubles.
A killjoy is someone who messes with other people’s enjoyment (whether intentional or not).
Oh, and it’s “layman.”
Sure win!
as far as i’m concerned, no fail has taken place. if anything, this is an epic costume win!
wonder if he can still fly
Well Chistopher Reeve should be able to fly now, he’s dead and incorporeal… He should be able to right?
And this is a win. poor taste and messed up but win
Now that embodies the spirit of failblog. Congratulations, you get it.
win
i think this is a win, made me laugh very hard
FIRST!
Looks like a douchebag regardless of the costume.
Agreed.
Its a WIN, he was dressing up as Christopher Reeve, not superman.
This is a win… failblog makes me sad sometimes
That is insensitive (to Chris Reeves) and not at all funny.
Its “Christopher Reeve” fool “Chris Reeves” is a totally Different person
How is this a fail? So what if he’s in a wheel chair? It’s stupid of you people to call it a fail just because of that. Now if it were an Ironman costume, yeah… that would be a fail. This is totally a WIN.
Yes, this is a fail because it’s Superman in a wheelchair. It’s not like it was meant to portray Christopher Reeve or anything.
You’re smart.
What do you mean “you people”, fing racist.
Wait… I get it now… it’s a fail, because he has brown eyes. Never mind.
He met Chuck Norris
Now that is one of the better Chuck Norris jokes I’ve heard in a long time.
I sure hope this guy is actually disabled, otherwise my guess is he will be soon.
looks like Captain Hero in Drawn Together where he gives up his super powers and ends up in the wheelchair
Not so super NOW are ya!
christopher reeve was an ass hole
this is hilarious
WIN
I’m Guessing you have a problem with stem cell research ?
Cause what else did he ever do that could make you get on your high horse? (Irony Intended)
careful, i heard horses are dangerous
FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What if this guy is seriously handicapped and just wanted to be superman for halloween?
That’s a huge win if you ask me. I’d go around and if people siad anything about it I’d tell them I’m really paralyzed.
first
Costume fail or reality win?
this is a win for me
Looks like this is treading on the really thin line between FAIL and WIN
Why can’t I see any of these pictures? It’s been like this all week! FailBlog is failing me.
If the chair is part of the costume- huge fail for gross insensitivity.
If the chair is real, then its a great big win.
There’s no way to know from the picture alone.
I would have said it shouldnt have been posted at all because that key information is unknown, but no one asked me.
clearly a christopher reeve joke WIN, not a superman fail..
This is a super fail
Too soon…
clearly this is win. and thats the joke of the costume.
so we have a WINRAR!!!
/thread
Jee-zus….
Its Christopher reeve total win!!
Lot of hypocrisy in these comments. This is hardly the first photo that was in questionable taste, and now because people loved Superman and Christopher Reeve, its a horrible thing? It was ok to laugh at the misfortune of others but not this time around?
Get over yourselves, people.
I knew that someone had to have already said exactly what I was thinking… we’ve laughed at obesity, racism, special needs people, and the homeless, just to name a few…
yeah but they had it coming, christopher reeve didnt
Christopher REEVE (for you nitpickers) was an arrogant ass. Not that he deserved what happened to him. But he never cared a bit about the plight of the disabled until he became disabled. Then he was a whining, sniveling baby. The costume was funny. Those of you that are offened need to get over yourselves.
What’s wrong with the costume, he’s just trying to be Christopher Reeve.
Yeah, I don’t see what the big deal is. He’s clearly Christopher Reeves.
There was a skit a comedian did about this
Okay, let’s see. To sum up:
1. Offensive?
But that’s okay, right?
They never said in the movies the Fred Kruger molested children, only that he murdered him. One might argue that they implied tht he did other things to them first, but it is only implied , never actually stated.
Or perhaps it’s not even implied, but simply inferred by people who watch the movie, or, more likely, have merely heard about it, since most people who denounce Freddy as merely a child molester or slasher have never actually seen any of the movies in their entirety.
Freddy IS called a child murderer in the movies, but there’s no talk of molestation.
On the other hand, Christopher Reeve did actually break his neck and end up in a wheelchair while Freddy Krueger didn’t actually kill any children as he is fictional, and so were the children.
Sweet Moomin — do you find this fail offens[c]ive?
Personal facepalm. Mea culpa. I’m a dumbass.
This is the most tasteless and offensive things I’ve ever seen on the site. Not only it insults Christopher Reeve, but to an extent, it also offends the man who played Superman in the original TV series, George Reeves.
why does it offend george reeves?
Go search wikipedia for the answer. Maybe it’s his one and only response. Sometimes people like you are lazy to find the answer.
or maybe i just don’t give a flying ratburger. wikipedia is overrated any way.
i think this photo is offensive
I think your avatar is offensive.
should’ve stayed away from that kryptonite mhmm..
First i lol’d, but the i was like D:
WIN FTW!
pretty harsh, but it is canny funny so iv gotta say win
OMG WTF, what an idiot
Christopher Reeve, FTW
have any of you people that are saying this is offensive even thought that the guy in the wheel chair might actually be handicap and wanted to dress up as superman, not even thinking about making fun of christopher reeve….? idk, just something to think about…..
Read ALL the comments next time.
Hiya, sweetie! Just popping on while I’m coloring my hair. How’s Rooster?
He’s good, we’re talking on the phone right now. We had a good weekend and he survived meeting my folks!
O.M.G! I wouldda LOVED to be a mouse in YOUR pocket for that! How’d it go? Did Momma Bird like him?
Yes, yes she did! It all went well, PLUS my step=father likes him too! It went quite well, actually. Most of the conversation revolved around movies so we all had something to talk about.
I assume you had dinner, correct? Who cooked and what was it?
We went out for mexican food and he didn’t really like it, but he did fantastically with my folks!
Why didn’t YOU cook?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Restaurant = neutral territory. Seemed better than subjecting him to both the third degree AND the kitties (since he’s deathly allergic to them).
WOT!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, noes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay. Allergy to YOUR kitteh, or your mom’s?!?!?
I have no kittehs, I’m allergic too!
Good. That could be a deal breaker…
Do you love him?
Yeah, yeah I do! Marriage is a looooooooong way off though!
I love Avis too.
*SMOOCHES Rooster*
Not to break in, but welcome Rooster.
Anyone recognize his avatar?
Thanks Coyote and howdy.
It seems to torn a cog in my memory.
People say he’s got True Grit…
“And we ain’t got no lemonade either.”
T-U-R-N turn a cog. I need to eat.
Can I offer you a corn dodger Coyote?
I have a 19th century cookbook with a corn dodger recipe. It doesn’t call for coon grease however.
Hee! Just that you know what movie is referenced is great!
Your folks liked him? Oh oh.
Mama Bird is already planning the wedding reception. I am NOT kidding!
Avis, from a friend — take control and tell her to cool her jets. My mother was the same way. You don’t need the pressure…
I’ve already warned her. She’s calmed down a bit. A bit.
It’s hard “talking down” to your parents…”
She’s already offered me an obscene amount of money not to have a traditional wedding. I intend to take her up on the offer. Someday.
I doubt it very much. This kid(not a man)wasn’t clearly thinking when he got past the superman outfit and sat in the wheelchair.
Christopher Reeve was a very talented actor and an inspiration to many for awareness of spinal injuries and support for research.
It’s not a joke and it seems that only the MATURE adults here understand that this pic is in poor taste.
mature adults? there are none of those on the internet, only fat middle aged male virgins
(Picture taken shortly before being punched in the face.)
looks like this one never got off the ground… FAIL!!!
Very poor taste. Fail. And fail to all of you that think it’s “awesome and a win” You have no taste.
RIP Christopher Reeve.
Was Christopher reeve a Canadian?. The same one Canadians that beat USA in hockey for gold? Whoooo hooooooooo.
To cut and paste from Wiki:
Christopher D’Olier Reeve
September 25, 1952(1952-09-25)
New York City, New York, U.S.
Mom was/is so ticked off that Canada won.
This has GOT to be a record number of non-regular replies. Superman has got everyone so revved-up?
That’s Superman? I thought that it was a bird or plane.
*measures*
I don’t think it was a speeding bullet…
I’m revved! Vrrrrroooooooooooooooooooom
You go, girl!!!!!
Cookie?
*places cookie delicately in LSC’s mouth*
This guy is my hero. you cant make fun of this guy. how hard would it be to wake up with a breathing tube and wheel chair and still have the self determination to dress up as superman. i shun all who insult him.
Well said.
I just read the Wiki article on him. Amazing stuff. I highly recommend it.
Well said.
poor imitation
Okay.
No, I am not handicapped.
I also have gotten into hot water over costumes before…
Thank you Avis!
If the point is to be offensive, why are you apologizing for offending?
Perhaps he can’t help being offensive, and that’s his point?
I am disabled, and I do use a wheelchair, and I think this is pretty damn funny! Life is far too short to take seriously. For Halloween I dressed up as a devil and was Hell on Wheels. I applaud your creativity, and I think you will find many people with disabilities or medical issues appreciate a good dark sense of humor.
Kipper, I love you! You’re effing awesome and I thought it was cool/weird to run across this picture on here.
i’m surprised that my buddy didn’t submit this himself. yes, he is supposed to be christopher reeve, this was the halloween just after his death. we got harassed left and right that night, which was the point. epic win!
i still don’t know how george reeves fits into all of this…
my fist reaction – lol XD
this is wrong but still VERY funny XD
WIN WIN WIN
Great Idea
Not funny at all. Poor judgement
FAIL
LAWL. So epic.
Now that’s just insensitive.
This is a win.
Let the guy enjoy himself.
Not funny
Christopher Reeves would be rolling in his grave! Too bad he can’t.
OHH lordy lord, i feel so bad fo lafin so hard
Win
Not to sound offensive, but that’s an awesome Christopher Reed costume.
Who?
idiot. dont you know that the proper spelling is Christopher Jeeve?
Win! Win! Win!
this is a total win for me! best costume ever!!
this is a great costume, F Christopher Reeve
people who think this is horrible, go suck some balls
Christopher Reeve would probably kick that guy’s ass if he were alive to see this..
No he wouldn’t he couldn’t move his arms or legs
*dying laughing*
Comment WIN!!!
I think the guy is genuinely handicapped. His hands and fingers look wasted and atrophied. Legs are harder to tell because of the angle and the costume. I say outlook and sense of humor WIN.
Once again, read the previous comments. I am not nor was I handicapped at the time of this costume. That’s the joke.
Again, thats a win in my book
Read…ALL…the…comments…
I am sooooo going to hell for laughing at this! Win!
ha ha ha ha ha that’s a fail and a win
That’s a WIN in my book!
Totally win!
He looks exacly like me. Costume WIN!
Almost as bad as the time I went to a costume party dressed up as JFK with half a head. If you can’t make fun of the maimed and disabled, who can you make fun of?
That is just COLD. It is mean spirited and evil. The guy who dressed as this is just plain evil and classless……
And I’m going to hell for laughing at it!!!!!
what is so funny about a guy with a broken neck n a wheelchair on halloween?
I wouldnt say this is a fail, I’d rather call this an epic WIN!
Costume WIN!
This is picture is in no way funny and it more offensive
Yet another Fail blog quality control fail. Getting worse each day.
Im guessing he got a little kriptonite in his legs, and lungs.
“PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE be offended!”
Funny as hell! I love it!
pfft, it’s been done. In fact, I’ve done it twice. lol
In all fairness, it is a great costume.
BEST COSTUME EVER!
Yall are mean for making fun of this guy
Once again, Failblog is FAIL.
LOL. Failblog fail. This is an Epic win!
Dude… failblog Failed here!
this should be a WIN!
Christopher Reeves kicked ass :p
With all do respect to Christopher Reeves, this is a complete a total WIN! This a failblog fail!
Leif Garrett, the brunette years.
More like a costume WIN? That Christopher Reeve costume is hilarious…
the true fail is the guy who posted this pic
And that’s terrible.
ahahahhahahha your such a pathetic Politically correct douche!!! its failblog for a reason!
Your comment = FAIL!
This photo = Total WIN
WHAHAH STFU PPL! that funny! Don’t go and hate like yeah hope he breals his neck. Ur even worse then.
He made a fking WIN!.
Partly becausee he made wait with typing till I was done rofling xD
Would the person that submitted this picture please stand up? My friends and I are very curious as to how you found it.
I mean, it was on my myspace profile, so it wasn’t too hard to come by, but the question is do we know each other?
can i point out that the real christopher reeve is dead and that whoever keeps making stupid comments about being him is disrespectful in many ways
he looks very happy to have FAILED!
This is a win.
Nonononononono, that aint a FAIL! thats a Major WIN!
Jackass, It’s More like a win. – that man is didsabled.
This is a clear WIN!
This is costume WIN and anybody that doesn’t get it is FAIL.
Too soon….too soon
I know the guy, he is healthy, and can walk. And unless he has an exact twin who wore the exact costume, and jacked the same kinda wheelchair from the back of walmart, then I know this guy. Epic win.
I don’t want to say my name on here, but I think it’s safe for you to mention who you are.
Dude, you are so awesome. This is a total WIN! You have always had the best costumes. Even in high school. I vote that all of your costumes are EPIC WINS!! I miss your fantastic personality and wonderful sense of humor!
Oh, and my whole family votes WIN!
Who took this picture? The same person that took the picture of Aquaman dead in the bathtub?
WIN!
Not very super now is he?
Is the neck brace just a part of the costume?
Part of the costume.
The tubes are from an aquarium, the superman costume was from a Halloween super store, and the most expensive part of the whole thing. The neck brace was purchased at a CVS.
Going to Hell !!!! Ahahahahahahah!
This is a total win, the guy has a sense of humor and the personal drive to move forward in spite of his own personal hardships. He can take a joke and be one of the guys. God bless him on this.
Total win!
That’s mean, you guys.
omg, this is not a costume fail. the original person who played superman got paralysed. this guy is just clever.
Fail? this is a complete win.
I don’t get it he just got hurt before halloween… it’s sad really
C’mon, really? That wheel chair is from the 50′s or something. Why would anyone roll around in a wheelchair that old.
Once again, that’s me in the photo. I have no physical disabilities, the costume was a joke.
moAr like costume win!!!
are you kidding? epic win. it’s a christopher reeve joke. DUH.
What’s the opposite of Christopher Reeve?…. Christopher Walken!
Nice. heh heh heh…
Not ok
oh that is just WRONG dude!!~
you wont be laughing when ur ass is really having to sit there for the rest of ur life, what goes around comes around!!~~ Karma Dude
fail? pffft, FTW!!
Chastise Fail!
This is very offensive.
So much win!
What? Too soon?
boo to this turd for finding humor in his situation!
Oh man, that is hilarious!
No offense to the poor actor, but this has irony that’s just too funny to ignore for a costume.
This is major WIN
I gotta give him points for shear balls, It’s funny, but I would never have the guts to do that
That seems about right. It’s got some win in there.
The original Superman is in a wheelchair and I think something is wrong with his neck/spine. This is just like the real one.
This was definitely a win. What the hell. I laughed so hard. That guy rules.
come on guys, the wheelchair is fake. he’s impersonating christofer reeves, and it’s discusting. that’s why there’s that tube too. CR had one to breathe
oh dear, that’s not even funny!
That’s a win in my book.
Somewhat crude, but still a win.
definitely a win!
I use a wheelchair and was Christopher Reeve two halloweens ago. Although, I wore a skirt, trying to go for more of a SuperGirl look, the idea was still the same. I was going with the insider v. outsider rule to an extent. And that guy is not a regular wheelchair user. It is possible that he is temporally injured, however no regular wheelchair user under 50 uses that type of chair!
lol yea he’s superman all right
Able to leap tall buildings with the use of a freight elevator.
!!!WIN!!!
Epic F-ing insta-win!!!!!!!! This is GREAT and it looks like a decent quality costume too.
Better than some skank in a “timmy’s ho” costume. THAT is fail, imo.
Actually pretty win in my opinion.
FAIL
Epic win !
Um, why is dressing up as a disabled person offensive? : <
nice costume..
Looks like WIN to me….
Dude, that was so rude. It boggles the mind. Apparently you don’t have a mind or manners. I hope you trip over a boulder of Kryptonite.
I think that my be the funniest costume I’ve ever seen. I was laughing so hard for so long that i started crying.
Absolutely hilarious!
LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL
Tasteless WIN. Hilarious, but I feel like crap for feeling that way
Costume WIN 100%
Thats not a fail because Christopher Reeve was the first Superman and thats is what happend to him in his later years.
I feel that this is more of a win than a fail…
Did anyone else notice that it’s beginning to look like /b/ in here? U:
WTF!!!!!! dude that guy it’s so sensible as family guy and i mean it
woa, that’s soo rude….
can s/o please breake his legs?
That’s cruel to label as a fail.
Oh man, that is hilarious!
No offense to the poor actor, but this has irony that’s just too funny to ignore for a costume.
How does one come up with that idea?
Well it seems you people don’t have hearts. How would you like it if you were disbaled and people teased you like you are teasing him. Don’t judge someone untill you walk (or wheel) a mile in their shoes
