My son told me he posted my picture. It was some financial services place, maybe winding down tax preparation season, in Madison NJ. I really took this with a old cell phone camera while he was with me. I took it because it was funny as it was, not because I thought I could go home and put time into editing it. If I did have the skills to photoshop, I hope I could come up with something funnier than this. I don’t even know what you mean by “I can see pixels…” Doesn’t any picture have pixels? and cell phone pictures look more pixellated?”
I believe you, but they’re referring to the pixels around the text. Usually, that’s a dead giveaway for a ‘shop – that the pixels in one part are different from other parts.
(I agree with you, though, based on the content it would be silly to have photoshopped this one, lol.)
Not to be confused with the….
“Your business is very important to us, our customers deserve only the best service, and we will provide that service to you in .. …beep beep ..25-35 minutes, thank you for holding, you are very important to us”
Actually, it’s true. A lot of the Americans I’ve talked to over the internet really DON’T understand a 24-hour clock. There are a lot that do, but they only make up about twenty-five percent of the people I’ve met. A few Canadians don’t get it either.
Like the old Steven Wright joke: “I was going into a convenience store the other night as a guy was coming out and locking the front door. What are you doing, the sign says open 24 hours!?” He said, “Not in a row.”
Umm, 10:00 to 00:00 (= 24:00) is 14 hours, 00:00 to 02:00 is 2 hours, and 14 + 2 = 16. As a general rule, subtracting an even number from an even number produces an even number.
But the 2:00 would, in fact, be on Thursday, which means that it should have said 10:00-0:00 on Wednesday and 0:00-2:00 on Thursday.
It seems to me most likely that it is 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The lack of designations means nothing, as people know that 2pm comes after 10am, at least where I live. Why should a company that slackery stay up until 2 in the morning anyway?
My son posted this last night, only let me know about it today, I can’t even remember how he got the picture from the cell phone to the camera, so I definitely don’t have the sophistication to edit the photo. This really was posted in a financial services storefront business at a mini-mall in Madison NJ. There really are funny things out there, they are not all faked.
Hilarious. Thanks. This person put way more time in to looking at frame 64 (what is he talking about? There is just one frame here, it’s not a video) than I put into getting my cell phone out and snapping this picture a couple of years ago.
I just discovered Moominpappa! Whoo hoo! I had no idea. It’s as if all the cuteness in Sweden and Japan had babies. I knew I loved the Moomin. Now even more.

Sad thing is. . . the Moomin will probably never see my little tribute because very few FailPeeps come on during the weekend. After the cuddle puddle on Friday it’s over ’till Monday’s fail. Perhaps I’ll post it then.

Must be a bank. Only a bank could have the gall to be open just four hours a week.
The sign should read: “We don’t care about the people who have money on deposit with us. They are insignificant insects to us, and we don’t give a shit about them. Now go away and come back some day when we might care to be open for business.”
My guess is that it’s a public library. They are so woefully underfunded that many of them are open only a few hours a week. Some are just closing altogether.
I’d guess H&R Block during the off-season. The entire company shuts down when people don’t need help with their taxes. That’s their shade of green, too.
You might be right about the H&R block thing. It was a few years ago, I remember taking the picture (my son said he took it to avoid putting me in the discussion, I guess), but I only recall it was something to do with financial services.
This reminds me of the police station in my home town(kil, sweden) its open 2 to 4 every tuesday. it used to be every other tues day but we protested enough to get the police presence doubled
Give them a break, they’re only open 4 hours a week, do you think they have time to make a good looking sign? I agree with the cloning residue, though. It’s so easy to spot, it looks just like JPEG compression, except it’s on pictures instead of JPEGs.
It is probably off-season office hours for a seasonal business. The store in a park may open sometimes for deliveries, hiring, and other off season stuff.
Clearly, you can’t see the rest of the message. It reads: “We’re here to serve younglings.” It’s obviously an office for the local Star Wars Cosplayers.
You are the ones ruining this by never believing that there are funny images out there in the world. What might ruin it is a more common-sense explanation, that it may have been the end of tax season… based on when I go to NJ where I took this picture, it was either July or December, so it wasn’t right after April 15.
Not everything on the internet is photoshopped. Every picture inevitably will get a “ZOMG THIS WUZ SHOPPED!” comment on it.
To tell the truth, it’s annoying.
Al’s right, it’s an H & R Block office, they are open seven days a week until April 15 and then mostly shut down, so people who are still saying “photoshopped” dont’ read.
exclusivity! actually this works…wonder why they are so great they don`t need to be open…harder to get makes people want more…i use this w/ guys, hehe sorry :0
You do realise that playing hard to get rarely works with men, right? Depending on their morals, they either give up and move on to someone worth their time or they rape you. O_o If you want to go out with them, sodding say so. If you don’t, stop leading them on, you selfish cow.
Yes, this is from an H&R block, during off season. As in, april 15th – Dec 31st. They have no reason to be open more then a day a week outside of tax season.
Sorry, but this is definitely edited, and not even well. Just because it is not all that funny does not mean it’s true. You could just be a bad picture faker AND be terrible at making jokes.
Sorry, but you’re definitely an idiot, and not even a repentant one. Just because you can’t read doesn’t mean you’re right. You could just be a troll AND be terrible at reading the comments before posting your inane crap.
I think all the people who comment that its photoshopped aren’t Americans? There is an H&R Block office on my old street that is only open during tax season, then remains closed for the rest of the year. And something taken from an older cell phone camera might just indeed have bad pixel quality.
No really, it is NOT photoshopped- I worked at H&R Block n my town and we had the same sign! I always thought it was funny but never thought to take a picture. Damn!
Why open 24/7 when we can open 4 hours/week!

This looks shopped.
I can tell by the pixels and by seeing quite a few shops in my time.
Hey, I can see pixels too, and saw shops too! Wow! This definitely proves you right.
My son told me he posted my picture. It was some financial services place, maybe winding down tax preparation season, in Madison NJ. I really took this with a old cell phone camera while he was with me. I took it because it was funny as it was, not because I thought I could go home and put time into editing it. (I agree with you, though, based on the content it would be silly to have photoshopped this one, lol.)
We are here to help you, your business is very important to us. We are ALWAYS OPEN, except when we are closed, which is usually.
Not to be confused with the….
“Your business is very important to us, our customers deserve only the best service, and we will provide that service to you in .. …beep beep ..25-35 minutes, thank you for holding, you are very important to us”
I didn’t wanted to get served, either way.
Actually it’s more like 16 hours. Says 2 (not 14:00, no p.m.)
That’s what I thought, but apperantly a large amount of U.S. Citizens are not familiar with the 24 hour clock.
I think it means 10AM to 2 PM…. that also is the only possible way for it to be open under those hours in one day. So 4 hours is accurate.
LOL I’m not going to bother to explain how moronic that statement was.
Actually, it’s true. A lot of the Americans I’ve talked to over the internet really DON’T understand a 24-hour clock. There are a lot that do, but they only make up about twenty-five percent of the people I’ve met. A few Canadians don’t get it either.
Some of us understand it and some don’t, but it isn’t standard, so nobody is going to assume that they mean 2 AM.
Like the old Steven Wright joke: “I was going into a convenience store the other night as a guy was coming out and locking the front door. What are you doing, the sign says open 24 hours!?” He said, “Not in a row.”
I like the Steven Wright comment. Classic.
But today we have nothing to sell.

Hi, we’re open 24/7 please come back tomorrow

Haven’t got health insurance, so I really can’t afford being a patient. Sorry.
10 till 2 only on a Wednesday?! That’s only 4 hours per week of work!
Usually weekly work hours range from 20 to 40. That really is too short to be considered a service.
Yes, but distilled into such a small package, perhaps it’s really good service.

Completley and utterly true, look at the pixel shading in frame 64. Shoddy job really

Totally not photoshopped at all. Clearly, all the font baselines align correctly and there’s no residue from cloning the “closed” text whatsoever.
Give them a break, they’re only open 4 hours a week, do you think they have time to make a good looking sign? I agree with the cloning residue, though. It’s so easy to spot, it looks just like JPEG compression, except it’s on pictures instead of JPEGs.

Doesn’t the point kinda get ruined by the fact that the picture is so clearly photoshopped? It’s not even done properly.
You are the ones ruining this by never believing that there are funny images out there in the world. What might ruin it is a more common-sense explanation, that it may have been the end of tax season… based on when I go to NJ where I took this picture, it was either July or December, so it wasn’t right after April 15.
such a bad photoshop job. i think they used ms paint… >.>
This looks shoped. i can tell because a few of the pixels and that iv seen quite a few shops in my time.
It’s real. Its an H and R Block office after tax season. I know, my mom works for The Block.
Looks like a lazy photoshop job. The alignment of “closed” next to each day shows no consistency.
Not everything on the internet is photoshopped. Every picture inevitably will get a “ZOMG THIS WUZ SHOPPED!” comment on it.
To tell the truth, it’s annoying.

COMMENT READING FAIL (so obvious).
Yes, this is from an H&R block, during off season. As in, april 15th – Dec 31st. They have no reason to be open more then a day a week outside of tax season.
It’s the sign for an H&R Block, where I work. In the off season offices are only open one or 2 days a week except for appointments.
Sorry, but this is definitely edited, and not even well. Just because it is not all that funny does not mean it’s true. You could just be a bad picture faker AND be terrible at making jokes.
