So then the point (what you think failblog “wants” our minds to go to) is that in this situation where everyone is supposed to jump that one person simply didn’t jump? And that’s the terrific fail…?? No, I really don’t think so. The situation is there isn’t particularly much of the usual fail “humor” here except for that there’s one really *big* person who can’t seem to get any air. And frankly, from a (quite skinny) person who otherwise enjoys failblog, that’s just lame.
the real fail is hidden in the fact that the girls in the photo must’ve tried to “make this photo happen” a number of times. The disapperance of the fifth from right at least hints to that direction. The actual fail in the photo is that they just didnät try hard enough, and were satisfied with a shot where the a tad more verticallty challenged girl wasn’t up to the task at hand.

Supposing that all the girls in the photo are typical height for their era (about 5’6″), the girl on the right is shorter than the rest, about 5’1″.
Her shape places her in roughly a size 20WP (USA modern), or about 200 pounds, certainly nowhere near 300.
Obviously the missing girl was eaten by the one who didn’t jump. Is that too obvious? I mean, of course you can’t eat a whole person and jump simultaneously.

Actually, this type of thing is probably what drives (some) people to overeat in the first place. Emotional eaters EAT when they are emotionally distressed. Fat kids like to grub when they’re upset, happy etc. That’s why they’re fat.

So in a vacuum, no matter what mass an object has, it will always fall at the same speed.
Here it would be even slower because we have a bigger air resistance since she has a bigger surface area.
this can be another reason why she didn’t get off the ground at all…

think we all did! so a feather falls faster than a plane? really? drop 300 lb weight and a 100 lb weight what one drops faster? look up terminal velocity formula. it is mass times gravity multiplied by two divided by the drag force co-efficient multiplied by the density of the object and the area of the object all that is then taken the square root of and that is how fast that object would fall.
The 300 lb and 100 lb weight will fall at the same rate (if they have more or less the same shape)- 9.8 meters per second squared. That’s first year physics. A feather falls slowly because of the wind. In a vacuum, the feather and the weigh fall at the same rate. I’ve seen this demonstration in physics class 20 years ago. I’m pretty sure it’s still true.

1. You are taking into account that the object has already reached terminal velocity. The distance the girls have jumped is not even close to V(t). Had they been skydiving, at some point fatty would be falling slower than the rest but not when they are just a few inches off the ground. Until they actually do reach V(t) they fall at the same rate (minus some neglegable variables).
2. Mass is independent of this formula since in the 2mg part of the equation, mass can be eliminated by subing in m/v (where v is volume) for rho (density), inverting and multiplying. So (2mg)x(v/m)=2vg. QED

However, from F = g(m1m2)/r^2, if we let m1 = Earth, m2 = fat girl, it is obvious that despite the incredibly small number g, the two bodies’ weight would be more than enough to attract one-another; so basically when the girl jumped a distance of r, due to the above law the Earth was attracted to her in a speed of about 1m/s, which means that her weight is a little above a few trillions. I just had to post after reading my share of ignorant/idiotic comments.
To those who think “making fun of overweight people helps them”, you’re wrong.
This has been proven time and time again through a number of psychological studies. Not only is that belief false, but teasing overweight people has the completely opposite effect.
Before I even heard of the studies I never believed that teasing someone overweight would yield any positive outcomes.
But regarding this FAIL, I find it very funny and not offensive. Although I can imagine this slightly upsetting a people who may be sensitive.
The only offensive thing here are the comments being posted. Some cross the line or are just childish.
But then again this website isn’t exactly a place where serious conversations occur. So I advise those who feel offended in any way shape or form by a picture (any FAIL, not just this one) to not even look at the comments next time.
