Ok so Seriously?!?!? I do not think this was meant to start a freaking debate. War is a part of life. Peace will never be possible because lets face it all humans would have to agree and well that will never happen. Not in our lifetime. What happened was wrong and I mean with everything. The Indians, Jews ect. What I find funny is that no one has brought up the fact that after the Attack on Pearl Harbor many people, over 110,000, of Japanese descent living here in America at that time where put into internment camps. Granted we did not kill them or anything like that but they where persecuted. So get off your high horse and realize that no one is perfect least of all America.

Yes, in particular it took off with Kodachrome (R), 1935 for movies, 1939 for slides. Still other products (Autochrome and Dufaycolor are two examples) go back over 100 years now, but they weren’t very practical and virtually never used for backyard snapshots of the kids.

What does date the picture is what the kids are wearing – clothing like that was unheard of before about 1960.

Stumbled here- had to say, I loved the mention in the very beginning about American Indians- I’m full blood, and though we never say it publicly- no one went to jail for the genocide of our people, much more thorough than the Nazis ever were- and our decline continues. Please don’t think I’m not being sensitive to the horrific evil of all types of purges, I just want people to remember that this crime isn’t even eradicated in the US yet- much less in our foreign policy.

Yes, what early American’s did to the native Americans is despicable, and we’ll never know what really happened since what’s taught in school is a dumbed down, clean version (if you can call it that). But you still can’t compare what early Americans did to the Native Americans over centuries to what Hitler did to the Jews/Europe/Russia in just 20 or so years.

For one, 90% of all native Americans died from disease, not gas chambers and firing squads. Out of 112 million natives that died from disease, that leaves about 11 million that died at the hands of the Americans and other tribes. That’s 11 million people over 100 or so years, not 11 to 17 million in just 20 years.

Well I guess you can comare the two, but they two very different tragidies.

I’ve never read it, but I’ve always thought Mein Kompf is probably worth reading. For the purpose is being able to identify evil when you see it, by having a reference to refer to.
