  1. Milton says:

    First !!!

  2. Aqp says:

His driving skills were empowered by Nelson Mandela.

  3. Nick says:

Like Anal Point on Family Guy! “It’s like a tight parking space! You never think you’re gonna make it in there, then you fold in the sides and you just slide right in!”

  4. Milton says:

    I miss my Fiat …

    • xen says:

a red fiat panda….boy that sure brings back good memories

      • tahrey says:

        Word.

Primary Red (Fiat) Pandas = win :D

Though the black ones with the rainbow stripe were pretty cool too.

Its like someone came along… ok, here’s a box to put people and stuff in… here’s another box to put the engine in… add some wheels and windows… but for some reason the result was awesome rather than crap. A prime example of “more than the sum of it’s rubbish parts” thanks to some very clever hidden design.

In fact that old feller probably had his hand off the wheel after lining it up and the car just slid down the alleyway using those chunky, motorcycle crash-peg style rubbing strips (rubbing lumps?) like it was a kitchen drawer :D

  5. godspeedyou! says:

Reminds me of George Shapiro somehow..

  6. warezIbanez says:

    Did he died?

    (someone had to do it)

  7. MJH says:

I recognize that song….”Back your files up with Mozy!” What can I say, they air that commercial during Glenn Beck.

  8. jonas says:

haha.. this is in my country belgium

thats a nice show btw :D they always go looking for funny people

iff needed i could translate what he is saying!

    • Greywolf the Wanderer says:

Please do — the one is very curious. He looks like a nice old gent. Bloody good parking job — I couldn’t do that to save me life.

  9. Alex says:

I don’t even know why they post wins on FAILblog.

  10. Gumby1008 says:

actually i once saw something similar in the UK in burgess hill, i saw a mini reverse through a gap in bollards onto a footpath, no wider than 6 inches than the car (3 a side) probably less, and then park right next to his front door. If anyone in burgess hill sees a mini off church street, left on Cyprus street, on the right hand side of Cyprus street, thats where im talking about

    • Plip says:

That’s nothing. I used to bullseye womp-rats in Wivelsfield out of the back of my mate’s Austin Allegro.

      • tahrey says:

        Robert Rankin win? :D

I do parking much like this every day at work, taking the last wedge-shaped space that pinches down to about 2 inches wider than my mirrors before opening out again…. praying that no-one stupid or evil minded swaps for the people already there while I’m gone.

But then that’s reverse parking which is a piece of cake. Going in forwards is MUCH harder. I had to get a Panda-sized car into a garage only slightly wider than that alley (must have been made for motorcycles with sidecars or Austin Sevens or something – I planned to escape and later re-enter via the rear hatch from the start) and it was damn near impossible. Kudos, old guy.

  11. Zibeb says:

Actually, the fail here is when his house fills with the exhaust from his car.

    • Daniel says:

It’s probably a fail to even remember the show _Vega$_, but Dan Tanna (Robert Urich) apparently took the concept of a studio apartment to the next level by integrating parking into it.

    • Aaaaargh says:

And when does that happen, he shuts down his car ;) watch the whole video, the end is even more awesome anyway.

  12. David says:

    Anti-theft WIN!

  13. radu says:

Have you noticed that lately, the amount of Win posted is getting dangerously proportionate to the Fail?

  14. Neh says:

There Is Hope For Mankind Yet :D

  15. Dan says:

    Epic win.

I had a Geo metro like that in college. We’d park in the motorcycle parking lot right in front of the dorms…the spot was marked “any parking tag” and we simply removed the “motorcycle only” part of the sign (other residents had to park a mile away in a large cage lot). It was very cool, but 3 weeks later they put the “motorcycle only” part back up (this time it was welded into the signpost instead of bolted in).

  16. Underyx says:

    Wait, what?
How did he get out of the car?

  17. awakenbeing says:

Now if that car was wearing a condom, he’d be in trouble.

  18. Daniel says:

    It’s “FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-”, dude.

  19. Success says:

    Only in the Netherlands.

  20. ipad says:

doesn’t get much better than this

  21. Duckman says:

The dutch do like to squeeze things in tight holes…

  22. T-man007 says:

all hail “man bijt hond”, FLEMISH timekilling programme with lots of wins and fails

  23. Howitzer says:

Its a Garage Fail! A Garage FAIL!!! And a car fail! I say.

  24. Selphis says:

They missed the best part…when he opens the door he still has to drive backwards a bit to fully open it, and when he gets out, he has to push his car forward a bit so he can close it again…

  25. Sintec says:

you can find the whole video here:

it shows you how he gets in to his house, definitely the best part.

  26. thekornplant says:

It’s even more of a win because the man is 82 years old. Just saw this on the news yesterday :P

  27. surfing addict says:

tis is a WIN I don’t know anyone who could park in like that man you should see the intire video at youtube or at topgear.com

  28. whomere says:

I will call him god of parking if he does it backwards

  29. idiots says:

WHY DO THEY SHOW A PREMATURE COMMENT AT THE END OF EVERY VIDEO THE MINUTE THEY POST IT? WOULDNT IT BE BETTER TO GIVE PEOPLE MORE TIME TO COMMENT?

    • tahrey says:

if you look at the timestamp properly you’ll see they select some randomly appropriate one from PREVIOUS threads, sometimes months into the past….

  30. vitriol says:

Man bijt hond is a great show …. especially Kabouter Wesley ….
    http://www.een.be/programmas/man-bijt-hond/man-bijt-hond-kabouter-wesley-en-de-tovergieter

  35. Fatty Dragon says:

It also performs very well as an anti-theft system.

  36. I used to own one of these!!
And it’s Belgian as far as I can tell, or crappy Dutch ;-)

  37. Iepoev says:

the only problem is that the guy is depressed from all the attention he gets… :S

  38. Jen says:

Haha someone from Belgium :D Probably from “Man bijt hond” series :p

  39. Someone says:

It’s definitely not Dutch. I’m Dutch, but I didn’t understand a single thing he said. I thought it was from an eastern Europe country until I read the comments that it’s from Belgium. I then watched the complete vid and although I understood a few things there, he said many more things I also didn’t understand, and some sentences were even completely different compared to the Dutch counterpart.

    • czuhc says:

Are you familiar with the terms “dialect” and “regiolect”? I’ve heard far “worse” dialects than this, both in The Netherlands and in Flanders.

    • Avinor says:

Seriously: I’m SWEDISH and understood both most of his dialect and the standard Dutch subtitles.

Feeling a need to be different from the Belgians, are we?

  40. Ninny says:

That is the best parking I have ever seen. But I felt claustrophobic as the car closed in on the camera.

  41. Jonez says:

I know this guy in real life!
Really his is a nice guy!

    Belguim ^^

  42. Obby says:

Haha Belgium! Proud to be Belgian.
But he is tired of all the attentions and says he’s afraid there’s gonna come busses full of Chinese people to Liederkerke, the small Flemish town.

  43. Jack says:

    Win for the driver.
    Fail for the passenger.

  44. James says:

    Fail for the passenger.

  45. CTD says:

    Here the complete movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXqLHqEwiYw

Flemish and dutch aren’t the same in speech but they are in writing. But Flemish isn’t considered is a dialect. Dutch/Flemish is spoken in the northern part of Belgium, The Netherlands, South Afrika and Suriname.

This guy lives in Liedekerke (Flanders/Belgium).

  46. Andrew Ong says:

    100% WIN! Excellent parking!
(Has anyone else managed to drive through a [very] narrow lane?)

    • tahrey says:

I’ve tried, briefly won and felt very smug, then failed when it got tighter than the (rather portly – it certainly wouldn’t fit down that alley) car could actually fit. Even with the mirrors folded in. I actually lost the cover off the passenger side mirror when I had to reverse back out (5ft stone walls either side – no escape!), it caught on a protruding rock it had scraped on in the other direction, and ended up getting crunched under the wheel…

Be careful if you try to copy this guy, folks.

  47. Noah Benham says:

That’s gotta be fun when you’ve gotta leave in a hurry!

  48. Belgian Girl says:

darn, a lot of crazy dutchies and gud old flemish ppl here :) saw this vid 2 on ‘man bijt hond’. super win!

  49. 2Foxxie4U says:

    Good luck backing out, buddy.

  50. Mark NL says:

That was on the morning news in the Netherlands

  51. Silver_strike says:

So the question : Was the garage built for the car, or the car made for the garage?

  52. Henny says:

Maar wat gebeurt er nu met zijn fiets?

  53. JZ says:

In America, we have this thing called “space”

  54. Jorn says:

And in Belgium we have something called “Healthcare”

    Funny detail:
This guy really hates getting in the news,
he thinks the whole world is laughing at him,
    and I think he’s right ;D

  55. Nameless says:

Hes lazy to walk to the door O.O
