The correct spelling would be ‘paedophile’. A few years ago there was a gadget you could wear that was called a pedometer which measured the number of steps you took while you were exercising . Sad to say, this is a legitimate practice. His office ordered something from my work and I saw the email address. I had to look it up and it brought me to their website: http://www.pedodoctor.com/

Since “pedo” means child, I say it’s a fail on the part of greater society, or rather internet idiocy, for miss-attributing the prefix “pedo” to all things related to pedophilia.
I stared at this forever to understand the fail. I finally realized but it’s not fail. A pediatric dentist is technically called a pedodontist (pronounced PEE-dodontist no like in pedophile). We routinely shorten it to pedo (again pronounced PEE-do)
His website has been changed to little smiles.com or something, check the pedo webiste.
I don’t know why. It wasn’t like he was pedo bear. OMG maybe he is!!
