  1. [insert generic noun here] says:

    Old enough to know better.

    • Freyja says:

They seem to enjoy the look.

    • ♛ Manartica ♛ says:

they don’t look that old though

    • kool aid says:

      can you say photoshop?

      • Sticker Sticker says:

        Photoshop.

      • nicole says:

        not a shop.
child beauty contests. and really poorly taken photos.
their makeup is never quite the right colour when there is flash photography

        • Dakos says:

Isn’t there an organization somewhere for “Future Hos of America” or something? I imagine this might be from their recruiting pamphlet.

          • petmousse says:

Future Hoes, I am not so worried about, that happens.. It’s the premature-onset body dismorphism that makes me sad.

        • pokefail says:

i agree steaming pile. trying to figure out what’s worse: pedophiles or the parents of these kids. all that make up looks sick. they seriously look like midget news reporters…. or my aunts in ’95.

          • jopamac says:

agreed u shud see toddlers and tiaras on tlc its truely revolting, honestly these parents set themselves u for heart ache when there kids are kidnapped or run away to live the life thier clothing suggests

            • Kaeli says:

I loved the one on last night– the little girl hated pageants, had to be forced to participate, and would scream and throw fits. Mom still made her do it, because Mom likes it.

        • Farkle says:

          Nope. Still hideous.

        • Itheme says:

Well, you know… There are dancing competitions (sport dancing), where heavy makeup is a standard even for children. That’s because dancers’ aspect should be impressive and should strongly correspond his/her pose and gestures. Heavy makeup helps jury to see that from the distance.
It could be rediculus but that’s some sort of convention.

          • Default User says:

Yes, but makeup worn for dancing/theater doesn’t make a 6 year old look like a cougar.

          • purple shirt girl says:

It’s not always just the parents. When I was five I was wearing make-up like this for dance recitals, because our dance teacher had a warped sense of “glamor”. One year we had numbers where we dressed as Charly Chapman, native americans and poodles. Another year we had to dress as penguines.

            Good I hated the mascara.

          • I choose sleep says:

Remy called it. It’s so sad to see that the greeds of parents nowadays drives them to steal their children’s innocence and childhood. It’s sick. Parents like the ones who promote this kind of activity only give ammo to the sexual degenerates and perverts to satisfy their hellbent desires. It also seems to me that children these days live their childhood in such a short time. What happened to childhood innocence and a simple beginning in life? Damn… This is just sad.

        • Itheme says:

PS. But anyway, I don’t sure that in this case they are pro-dancers :)

      • sauer kraut says:

        wasn’t taken in a photo shop… more than likely… at mommie’s house.

      • Kate says:

Unfortunately, not photoshop. That’s actually how they dress these little girls up. It’s disgusting.

        • Lily says:

Exactly. This is a typical US phenomenon… eeew.

        • Stephen Ogley says:

That may be the case in mainland Europe but sadly children’s beauty pageants are increasing in the UK. Padded bras are available for six-year olds and mothers have been known to send their 8-year old children to school wearing thongs.

        • enaM says:

i agree, those kids are really disgusting and should’ve never been photographed let alone to publish the pic…

        • NoUShater says:

I don’t get the idea people are hating the US for this, but being from (mainland) Europe, I can say it is unthinkable here…
Personal experience from people does make a difference you know.
I think you’re loving the US a little too much, thinking that people who criticize one aspect of a country instantly hate it.

          • G says:

It’s also unthinkable to a lot of Americans. Remember that our country is huge compared to most European countries; there are lots of little pockets of crazies that unfortunately tend to make the rest of us (hundreds of millions) look bad.

            • pokefail says:

what’s that proverb?? “never remembered when you do something right, never forgotten when u do something wrong”

anyways, i am from the states, and i kinda side with both. i do agree that the us isnt COMPLETELY full of inbred retards, but i also agree that because of our ‘freedom’, we do a lot more ridiculous bulls**t. i really don’t think beauty pageants should exist: it’s based more on exterior looks than any talent/intelligence portion of the contest. what does that teach the girls?? at SEVEN or SIX yrs. old, mind you. “i don’t have to educate myself and be independent, just dress like a whore and find someone to pay for all my s**t”.

it’s like watching the kardashians or the bachelor.

              japan, here i come ^_^

              • Nekomata says:

If you think that Japan is any better in the “i don’t have to educate myself and be independent, just dress like a whore and find someone to pay for all my s**t” department, then you have obviously never lived there. It is a wonderfully unique country, but it is still suffering from its share of social problems, particularly in the women’s rights sector. The glass ceiling is more obvious in Japan than in most other developed countries; a majority of women are still expected to quit their jobs when they get married so that they can stay home and raise the children. Not to mention “compensated dating,” where schoolgirls go out with older men for pocket money. There really is no fundamental difference between what you dislike about the US and the reality in Japan.

Every country has social issues, just different ones. It makes no sense to point fingers and declare someone “worse” or “better” because of them.

                • BusyBee411 says:

Amen. Every country has it’s issues. The goal of hard working and decent citizens is work around those issues and eventually solve the problem. The crazies will always exist, but if we work hard to prove the crazies are the exception, not the norm, than there is a brighter future ahead! :)

                • Hapqy says:

The trick is to find a country with social issues that you can live with, and move there.

          • Romeo the excedingly ? says:

            @ NoUShater
I know you do not hate the US, as a mainland European, neither do I, I don’t like the Pageants, a little crazy maybe, but who am I to judge? What is wrong is for you to say “I can say it is unthinkable here”, it isn’t, this kind of thing is common in some European countries, Spain for one. Just to put the record straight as you may say…

        • nerdboy20950 says:

Freaky looking, aren’t they? I read an article that pedophiles actually buy the programs from these ‘pagents’ so they can wank off to them. Not sure how accurate the article was, it WAS on the ‘net.

        • Josh says:

Yup. I’m Belgian and anyone who’d not only dress their kids like that and take pictures of it would be prosecuted before he/she could say “Banana”.

          It’s disgusting.

        • finster71 says:

The only time I would “thump” a bible… Was if it was going across your face.

        • waterlily says:

Sorry Sampson, it’s not really bashing the US in general. It’s the idiot moms who were “beauty queens” back in the day and are trying to relive their best years through their little girls. I knew a gal who’s mother put her through this. Needless to say, she’s been in therapy for years and is still totally messed up.

        • dontcarebut.... says:

They are american girls though. America has child beauty pageants all the time. If ur not sure do wot i did and google it. This is why people hate the US for a good reason, dont say you dont deserve it just because your too ignorant!!!

          • Ace says:

Because generalizing America as a whole based on a few stupid people isn’t ignorant.

            • Lathspell says:

Having worked in an outsourced call center for the Americans, I think I can safely agree with dontcarebut…. Yes, generalizing IS bad and ignorant when you do it with little proof. But, my friend, out of 1000 American callers, 990 were retarded. And intolerant, bible-wielding truck-drivers. Rednecks who told US that we had accents. Before that, I thought the line “they took our jobs” in South Park was exaggerated. Sadly, it is not.

        • Sam, M.Div. says:

…and then those kids grow up to be politicians (or at least voters), which is why we’re so messed up over here. God forbid we mix up “the massive power of the state” with things like, mmm, teaching science. Better to just take a popular vote to decide questions of science and morality. This is why an absurd number of us deny evolution and global warming… but no, we don’t tell people how to raise their kids. We do, however, really really want to force them to have kids, even if they don’t want them.

        • Farkle says:

          They’re from West Virginia. LOL

        • Bah says:

It’s okay, we all should be used to the hypocrite people that form America really are. Not a surprise to be honest, you can’t even trust religion, all they want is your money and they will lure you to it at no cost. Even contradicting themselves. What a piece of crap of a country.

        • Parma says:

They don’t hate us when we give them aid after disasters…

        • Default User says:

Win. You get three shiny internets and a cookie.

          • mabsba says:

We meet again! I also offer Kaeli cookies for her brilliant observation.

            • Default User says:

Ack! Mabs is stalking me! Or running away from Obvious?

              • mabsba says:

I prefer to call it it. That seems to annoy it. :)

PS I’m a very nice stalker. I bring cookies.

                • Default User says:

Ohh! Cookies! *wonders where the mysterious plate of cookies came from and why she has the feeling she is being watched*

                  • mabsba says:

                    *click click*

                  • Default User says:

*cannot hear the sound of clicking over the sound of cookie gobbling*

                  • mabsba says:

*sigh* I don’t think anyone is going to pay much for pictures of you eating cookies.

                  • Default User says:

Does it help that I’m not wearing any pants? I mean half naked and eating cookies? There has to be a market for that somewhere…

                  • mabsba says:

I suspect there’s a market for anything some where (not implying that you don’t look fetching sans pants). Did have a bit of the WTH for a second as I forgot you’re in SD; it’s supposed to snow tonight here.

                  • Default User says:

Snow? In SD? Surely you jest! Ahahaha!

It might snow higher up in the mountains but I don’t think it’s going to make it to the coast. Besides, I have my space heater, or I would if I could pry my cat off of it.

                  • Default User says:

Hrm, I can’t seem to read, I misread here as there. It’s been storming here like mad crazy for the past four days and I think the mountains got some snow, you must just be getting that first storm that hit us Monday.

                  • mabsba says:

                    I was wondering…:)

We received the first storm Tuesday; this is the second of three (the third being the one you’re about to get, I think). My husband said it’s pouring in the Bay Area.

So how does one dispose of crazy trolls on PK?

                  • Default User says:

Oh, number three is here. And it brought lightning! Real live, bright flashing lightning! *giggles like a school girl* The sky is falling! The sky is falling! Weeee!

Sadly I know of no way to be rid of trolls. There are some effective methods, but nothing guaranteed. We could try completely ignoring it. It seems a but juvenile, but it seems to crave attention, and not giving it what it wants might work.

                  • mabsba says:

Yeah, just a weeeeeee bit juvenile. All right, henceforth we shall not reply to it. It may get annoyed enough to say something racist and get its little rear moderated. :)

                  • Default User says:

I shall inform the PK irregulars on the board (you could do it yourself if you would just join us!) and see how many I can get on board with it.

                  • mabsba says:

After a couple of days of ISO, I can see the attraction. But there are a few ‘irregulars’ that I really have no interest in further interaction with…. My tennis match ended. The only sport I watch and only the Grand Slams, but the Australian is hard with the time difference. They just finished a Friday afternoon match. :)

                  • Default User says:

Not all the irregulars are on FB, we’re all exclusive and cool like that. :P

I can’t watch sports, I can pretend to play them, but I can’t sit around and watch them. But I assume that means you are off to bed. Sleep well.

                  • mabsba says:

Hee hee. I am very type A. I have to DO something while I watch. Good night. Enjoy your storm. :)

                  • Default User says:

I will, and don’t worry, I’ll save some storm for you. :D

        • Hunter says:

Instigation to pedophilia? Are you telling me they let people justify the molesting children in Europe? Obviously that’s why Roman Polanski hung out there for 30 or so years.

      • Nyx says:

        can you say stupid?

      • jamisings says:

You obviously have never seen Toddlers In Tiaras. Look it up, it’s scary. Women getting their five year olds to shake their butts and their flat chests. Can you say “Child Prostitution”? These things must be judged entirely by pedophiles.

      • Anarchy says:

that’s what I was thinking. There are too many wrinkles for a young kid.

      • Laura O says:

Thank you, I was hoping someone else had noticed.

      • ss396 says:

        Can you say JonBenet Ramsey?

      • anonymous says:

No, I have seen shows about these girls on tv….they’re really like that. They go through alot of spray tans and makeup though; more than a normal teen does

      • Clint says:

It’s not photoshop. These are real pageants. Maybe before you start saying everything is photoshop, you should, I dunno, get a clue?

    • mel says:

      photo shopped?

    • pedobear says:

those girls are uglier then sin

  2. jesse says:

is that what they will look like?

  3. Lisa says:

    God this is disgusting

  4. Usoki says:

Please tell me this has been shopped. The faces look off, and their lips look too big to be child lips. And I guess the lighting is weird, or whatever else counts as proof. I really don’t want to believe this is a real photo.

    • toejam says:

iz real. just search googlez for “child beauty pageant”… there’s even a show on TLC.

      • Stevepinto says:

Yep. It’s sad. They really dress up like that with spray on tans, hair extensions, and even fake teeth. That’s right, they’re too young to have a full adult set of teeth but they’re still dressed up like that.

    • karolane says:

I’m sure it has been shopped, the lighting of their face simply doesn’t fit with their face. and anyway itsn’t the same color..

      But it still funny!

      • DangerFart says:

Nope, it hasn’t. The lighter color on their faces is due to the extreme amount of make-up that’s been applied. This pic is 100% real, and this isn’t even the worst of it. These pageants are sick.

        • Anymouse says:

PLEASE tell me you don’t believe that — yes there ARE some parents who do terribly exploit their kids at beauty pageants, that’s not what I mean, but, for one, they would be dressed in ridiculously expensive dresses, not dollar-store swimsuits….
AND MORE OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS PHOTOSHOPPED. You can (or rather, should be able to) tell that these faces, while real, come from older “donors.” The poor cropping and obvious juxtaposition of the toddler or -just-post toddler bodies and the 8-or-so-year-old faces are dead giveaways.

    • ariel says:

Their lips look big because they wear children’s dentures – since baby teeth are considered “attractive” enough for the scary child beauty pagents. Whatever happened to people thinking the pictures of kids with missing baby teeth are cute? I miss those days…

  5. XaTaN! says:

They even have the botox facial expression! LOL

  6. sava2004 says:

    FAKE!

    AND THIRD!

  7. ♛ Manartica ♛ says:

    yay 8 or 10

  8. carib says:

Aren’t these the Olsen twins earlier this year?

  9. Bullwinkle says:

Just like long division problems …

If they’re smaller than 16 do them in your head.

  10. josie says:

omg. these must be beauty pageant kids… parents who turn their kids into this need to have their kids taken away and given to someone who will let them have a childhood free of shallowness and make-up and shit.

  11. hhh says:

eww thanks to texas and their fkn beauty pagents

    • BobOsso says:

North Texas thank you very much. I live in South Texas and things are much different here. Too many Mexicans (myself included) to have that kind of shit going around.

      • Fira says:

EXCUSE ME? Way to stereotype, dude — these pageants ALSO occur in places other than Texas, and those parents that force their kids to participate in them are the sad, disgusting minority.
Personally, I think its MUCH more accurate to say something like “eww thanks to texas for gruesome murders.” At least you have statistics backing you up there.

  12. BobBob says:

Such an obvious photoshop – surprised this made it through.

  13. Klart says:

This is.. so freaky. Half 45 year old cougar half 6 year old? Just, no. no no no no no NOOO!

  14. Kikia says:

Looks like they’re from Toddlers and Tiaras

    • Just a Brit says:

      take a look at

      h t t p: //l.yimg.com/l/tv/us/img/site/45/10/0000054510_20090123144056.jpg

      ye gods, I’m without words

  15. Dwight says:

    WTF! This is disgusting!

  16. WhiteNoise says:

    Are those… human?

  17. Stacey says:

Now I know why my mom wouldn’t let me wear makeup until I was 16. My daughter won’t either. This is child abuse.

  18. MarleyBojangles says:

JonBenét Ramsey lives! And wears a Bumpit.

  19. Jass0855 says:

Shame on the parents!!! This is disgusting!!!!

  20. risu says:

Is that suppose to be a Barbie mask or something? Looks completely fake.

  21. Try It Free says:

Fake or not, parents actually do this shit. Might not be real, but it’s a real representative of a certain portion of the population.

  22. Rico says:

    Fap Fap Fap

  23. Kirixen says:

If this was the worst thing that parents did to kids, i’d be more ok with it. but this is just the tip of the f*&$ing iceberg

  24. LadyLegs says:

I’m sorry to say that this isn’t photoshopped. I’m a photographer and retoucher, and the light is so different on their face because of the cheap makeup their parents put on them. Cheap makeup doesn’t mesh well with camera flashes. I wish it was fake!

  25. Convallaria says:

You people get off your dumbass, criticizing “photoshop” kick. Please. It’s real. Get used to life’s cruelties, horrors, and good laughs simulated with photoshop.

  26. Timmy Turner says:

Oh, I get it failbloggers, you can’t make fun of the mentally ill, but kids are OK? Nice one.

  27. Disaster says:

…there should be a law about child prostitution and demented parenting.

  28. JJ says:

Lol! You people get off your dumbass, criticizing “It’s real” kick. Please. It’s not real. While some idiot parents DO put their children in disgusting makeup like this, this picture is obviously two women faces put on the bodies of two children. Haven’t you ever seen the stores on boardwalks that put a person’s face on just about anything. I’ve had mine on Mt. Rushmore, a sunflower, a swimsuit model and a bodybuilder. They are just for fun and anyone who’s ever seen one done KNOWS what they look like. But kudos to you, Convallaria, for being SO SURE it was real! :P

  29. mur raj says:

Fake tans and eyelashes, hair extensions and dye jobs. fake teeth called flippers. all in the life of a baby pageant girl. it is gross, it is not cute. kids should be kids as long as possible. i mean i am 36 and i refuse to grow up.

  30. SadButTrue says:

Whats so very sad is that I am positive that 1. This photo is real 2. These girls were on Toddlers and Tiaras (about 90% sure) and 3. The parents think its perfectly normal. My daughter asked me if she could be in a beauty pageant, I told her no way, no how, never as long as shes living under my roof. Mean? To her I am sure. Justifiable? Look at the picture again, then tell me. *gets off soapbox*
^Note to Timmy^ Failblog is not making fun of the kids, rather the parents of the kids. I urge you to read the single line above the picture again “Parenting Fail”. I feel sorry for those poor kids myself.

  31. Mushaboom says:

It looks fake to me. No way any young girl has a face like the one on the left. Whether it’s a mask or a ‘shop, that face is pure plastic.

    • Mushaboom says:

Holy shiz, I looked up “Child beauty pageant” on Google…I take back my “fake” remark. That’s creepy. Horror movie creepy.

  32. Chantal says:

Oh my God they look like they’re 30…

  33. Ellywig says:

Shit, Hannah Montana has finally learned binary fission. We’re doomed.

  34. bigjohn756 says:

They look as if they have been made up to look like someone else, perhaps actresses or models, but, I can’t figure out who. Anyway, they sure look pretty.

  35. kukuxumusu says:

WTF is wrong with this people

  36. Patty says:

Sadly this is real….watch “Little Miss Perfect” or “Toddlers and Tiaras” Creepy business, creepy men that run them, b****y moms and bratty children.

    • Gordon says:

Damn it haha. I just posted a comment referencing Little Miss Sunshine and then i saw yours!
But yeah- yours is basically a better version of mine. Its sick what they do isn’t it? And i can’t believe people don’t think this is real!

    • jentaps says:

I’m almost sure that one of the girls is in Little Miss Sunshine. My daughter also took dance, but never looked like this!

  37. brazilianguy says:

    disgusting

  38. Andrew Ong says:

Has anyone heard about Morgan Featherstone?

  39. duckmanbill says:

    Failblog fail. Clearly a shoop

  40. Keladry says:

They look like Tammy Faye Baker.

  41. JP says:

Totaly photoshoped … even the light isn’t the same … its rly easy to see even for amater

    • Violet says:

Actually it’s real. The difference in lighting and skin tone is because the makeup these poor kids are smothered in has light-reflecting particles that show up an odd colour under flash photography. Seriously – Google “child beauty pageants” aand you’ll see things just as bad as this, if not worse. Some of these kids start their pageant “careers” at birth. The toddlers wearing tiaras as big as they are is just sad.

  42. ShadowTheSniperZombie C.C.C./Head of the Janitors' Union/Co-owner of ZombieTrollNetwork/makes rare sightings like bigfoot says:

Earlier and ealier they always start.

  43. Teste says:

    this looks shopped.

  44. Gordon says:

Ok seriously guys- how can you think this is photoshopped. I mean, they have pageants. I live in a small city in New Zealand, and even I know about these pageants that they do in the states. Just watch Little Miss Sunshine. And no, the light isn’t the same on their face because of all the make-up they’re wearing. Wake up people.

    • MLD says:

We’re not disputing that there are pageants. But to me, the heads look too big for the bodies (not just the hair, either).

  45. coyote says:

I just found this photo at ht tp://www.country.com.br/vi/tag/Contest+is+for+the+children. Could someone please look at that site and please tell me just what is going on. This is the photo for the “Most caring radio station contest”!

  46. Manda says:

Look how friggin large their jaws are. Those are not kids. This is shopped or those are “little people”.

  47. Bobby says:

WOW…For a second i thought they were wearing masks until I saw comments talking about make-up.

  48. jude says:

it’s real, these girls were on television. everyone who thinks this is shopped… guess what makeup does to people… makes them look different! my 5 year old daughter does dance recitals and yes she gets makeup, they all do for the lighting in the dark auditoriums for the video cameras to pick up their faces. although some parents do take it to extremes and make their children look 30, mostly in beauty pageants- like this one.

  49. Cypres says:

This is not Photoshopped. I can tell you this confidently because 1. I am a Graphic Artist and for GA’s its easy to tell Photoshop where most people can’t, and 2. The girl on the left was on the show on TLC that Toejam mentioned.

  50. cajee says:

What you really need to look at are the teeth. Any mother will tell you that those are baby teeth. Unfortunately these kids are started at an early age, before they even are crawling. It’s not even for money, most of the contestants don’t even make back their investment in dresses. Not only that, when a girl loses her baby teeth, they buy a fake tooth to fit in the area. She puts it on before performing. Most of the girls will tell you, after they have grown up, that they liked it. Regardless of this, it is not something i would ever do to my daughter. These kids and their families are totally consumed by the pagents. Unfortunately the other kids get left behind.

    • Alexandrea says:

“Most of the girls will tell you, after they have grown up, that they liked it. ”
This is because their parents distort reality for them from the time they’re born, dangling prizes, money, and fame in front of them. Of course they’re going to love it, they’re “special” and Mommy and Daddy pays a lot of attention to them, more so than their friends. They don’t realize their young little bodies are being whored (can I say that?) out for old freaky men to look at and fantasize about.

    • Kaeli says:

Watching the TLC show, I’ve seen two children that seemed to actually enjoy the pageants. For them, great! Let them do it, if it’s THEIR thing. Otherwise, horse-whip those parents!

      • Kaeli says:

Two seasons, featuring between four and five children a show, and there have been TWO children I’ve seen who had fun with it. *Sigh*

  51. i am einstein says:

omg i dont know such face exists

  52. Mr. gerbz says:

…That’s more botox than skin. Damn.

  53. Tulips says:

If you watch “Toddlers in Tiaras” On TLC you can tell right away that this picture is 100% REAL. There is no real argument that its fake. They look older because of the amount of make up they are wearing.

The girl on the left has been on tv for sure. I can’t tell about the other one.

If you even question this being fake.. you’ve obviously never seen a beauty pageant with children under the age of 8.

    • Lissa says:

Dude…the skin color on the face is about ten shades lighter than the skin color on the rest of their bodies. If anything, someone took some of the faces of those girls (if not older women) and photoshopped them on this pic.

      • jamisings says:

Several people who are EXPERTS in this area have already said that it’s the CHEAP MAKEUP that makes them look like that.

Learn to read. This is REAL. NOT SHOPPED.

        • Lissa says:

If these are real pageant girls? They wouldn’t use cheap make up. Their parents would invest on the best stuff on the market to make sure they look amazing. Second, look at the neck of the girl on the right in comparison to her face. It doesn’t line up right at all, anatomically.

You may think it’s not a photo manipulation, but I’m sold that it is.

  54. eatwesty says:

totally photoshopped… you can see the real heads behind on the top of the right girl!!!

  55. Lissa says:

    What’s that smell?

Oh, it’s someone Photoshop starting their computer on fire after they manipped this picture.

  56. john says:

    future cast of Gossip Girl

  57. Sumguy says:

Aw jesus… this is just gross!

  58. Bob says:

    Please tell me that’s photo-shopped.

  59. Nozzbert says:

Even though Adobe would like us all to think otherwise, “Photoshop” is still not yet a verb.

  60. bobzmoose says:

    Has to be fake.

It still creeps me out and makes me want to puke at the same time…

  61. MJ says:

Prostitots. Their mothers need to DIE in a fire.

  62. Nozzbert says:

It’s no fake. You’ve only to look at those old photos of Jonbenet.

I think Greg Kinnear’s reaction in the pageant scene in Little Miss Sunshine says it all.

This kind of thing really is a parenting fail of the highest order.

  63. Dana says:

    Creepy…

  65. Angry_Hamst3r says:

  67. Wolf63 says:

    Woah Prostitots…

  68. WOW says:

what can you even say. this should be ilegal end of story. Just look at the jokes coming up here about jizing ect. what happens when people who arn’t joking around get sight of this crap. ahhh It takes allot to get me angry, this does it…..

  69. Jahzzie says:

The ones who say this is photoshopped, you say that because you HOPE this is shopped. Sadly, it’s not. A co-worker of mine is a make-up artist and runs our cabaret theater at the hotel I work for. (Oh, and he’s gay. Surprise!) He did pageant work at the start of his career, and he showed me his portfolio. That’s what they looked like.
A lot of it is stage make-up, purposefully over done so you can still see the details and color on stage with all those lights on you. That’s how it will come up on normal photos taken by either a home digi cam or professional model, unless they are directly in front of and/or under all those lights. The little girls on the pageant circuit all look like that, dresses that look like they belong in Dolly Parton’s closet, not on a 5 year old.
Sadly they all remind me of Jon Benet’ Ramsey.

    • MLD says:

Please don’t assume you know WHY I think it’s Shopped. It’s not because I HOPE it’s not. I know that kids get made up like that. It’s because the faces seem too big for the bodies.

And btw, was there a reason you needed to add that your coworker is gay? Not really relevant

      • eva says:

You do realise that proportionally speaking, children have larger heads than adults, right? Also, the kids on these pageants often wear hideous wigs that, (you guessed it!) make their heads look even larger.

Another Graphic Designer here, just noting, that while it may be shopped, most “retouched” pageant photos look OBVIOUSLY different. Just google that and you’ll see.

  70. kyasarin says:

That’s exactly my point. If you want a “child” beauty contest, it should be based on how the children actually look–not these beastly parodies of strippers they’ve been transformed into!

  71. kyasarin says:

Whether it’s ‘shopped or not (and I doubt it is, personally) is beside the point. Google “child beauty pageants” and see what you find. I’ll spoil it for you: You’ll find an awful lot of little girls who look just like these two, pancake makeup, hair extensions and all. They really do turn beautiful little girls into parodies of adult women for these things.

  72. jonatan says:

Enjoy? don’t think so, freyja, they are probably told to smile. Those parents should be prisoned.

  73. abracadabra says:

    lol really WTF people

  74. Timmy Turner says:

  75. anonymoes says:

  77. bo3rn says:

    omfg, that can’t be real

  78. Zoggy says:

out of scale heads with the wrong color… this smells photoshop all over it.

  79. Battista says:

How can you even look long enough at this picture to check if its photoshopped or not!? In short bursts?

  80. Kilroy says:

Yeesh. This look doesn’t even look good on adults! Why the hell would anyone want to dress up their kids to look like that?

  81. danbot says:

u people are sooo off-the ball. so what, wether its a composite(photoshop) or not. it dont matta. this shit goes on in USA. it is an accepted part of their society. i have seen documentaties about it, n the parents are freaks, sorry girls but its mainly mothers, who are still playing with ‘dolls’. also do they not realise that they r providing masturbation-aids for paedos-pretty dumb. they are worse than those women who dress monkeys-up as babies, and ‘care’ for them. wake-up america…you have some pretty weird things going on over there. photoshop or not..paaaah

    • Firespinner says:

I can assure you, MOST americans are just as horrified by this as you are. Its disgusting, but its not accepted by main-stream america….only the freaks, which reside in every country.

      • aethra_42 says:

i know, its a shame that americans are mostly portrayed as idiots its the same with aussies (im an aussie and i can safely say that i DO NOT ride a freaking kangaroo to work everyday). i have never met an american person but i would like to to compare the differences in culture. (and it is a beautiful land that i want to some day see)

  82. Sadie says:

I feel that my hatred of ‘celebrity culture’ and my fear of small children have both been thoroughly justified. Many thanks.

  83. Wowogeegee says:

This site seems to have more and more phoney pictures.

  84. jujumamabobo says:

shoped, the one on the right looks like the woman from accidentally on purpose.

  85. Tom says:

Not shopped – this looks like something right out of one of those Texas beauty pageants

    • danbot says:

not just texas…all over the US. thase people travel many miles, from state to state, to compete in these paedofests. and for all u eejits who are crying photoshop…it is soooo simple to google ‘child beauty pageants’…please do it…then shut-up/sort it out.

      • forsythia says:

Yeah, there are a couple of creepy shows about those pageants – Toddlers & Tiaras on TLC for one…. BLECH!

I am happy to say I spent my childhood climbing trees, chopping the hair off of my barbies and listening to Duran Duran and *not* entering creepy baby pageants!

  86. sam says:

    this is not photoshopped
    its real

its from this tv show on tlc called ‘ toddlers in tiaras ‘
its where mothers put their little spoiled girls in beauty padgents for toddlers.

  87. Humm. says:

God I wish this was photoshopped.

  88. Andrew says:

    photoshop

  89. teamblah says:

i think the girl on the left actually appears in the beauty pageant scene in Little Miss Sunshine. all the girls in the pageant in the movie (aside from Abigail Breslin of course) are genuine child beauty pageant contestants.

  90. Firespinner says:

That is horrifying. The parents should be charged with child endangerment for advertising their daughters to perverts and for causing the mental problems that these girls will face in the future.

  91. ChickySeeChickyDo says:

It sucks cause they do look like this. It probably wasn’t adjusted in anyway. Pageant mom’s go to an extreme making there daughters look like little whores. There are a lot of kids who like being in beauty pageants. Both of my sisters were. But not like that. With fake lips and plucked eyebrows and spray on tans. It’s just… gross.

  92. Roberto says:

Are those little girls or skinny midgets in drag??

  93. Ignoramous says:

    Wooooooo that’s hot!!!!!!!

  94. sfgvbsfvsf says:

  95. Tina says:

That SOOOOO could not get any more fake! 20 year old’s faces photo shopped onto 5 and 6 year old’s bodies? That’s so far past Fail it went strait to idiotic.

  96. Italsk says:

    To everyone saying it’s fake…

I wish it were, but they have baby teeth, so yeah…

  97. Sarah says:

    Judges:
Okay girls you can take the Tammy Faye masks off now…
    Oh, that’s your… face?
    I need another drink. *facepalm*

  98. Lone Wolf says:

Please, some one tell that is photoshopped.
That is so creepy. If that is real those girls are going to need a hell of a lot of therapy when they grow up.

  99. imtryingtothinkbutnothinghappens says:

you think this is bad, go to Brazil. LIttle girls wear tight spandex pants since they can walk!

  100. Kira says:

The reason that these girls have “perfect” teeth when they are smiling at the camera is because they are wearing a “flipper”. A flipper is like a cap that goes over their actual teeth and makes them look the way they do in these pictures.

I’m not saying that this picture specifically is real. But, for those of you who were pointing out their teeth that is the reason that when you see these girls they don’t have the normal little kid teeth.

  101. Summer says:

Lame photoshop fail. The heads arent the right size or color and you can see the real hair in back. They even have *wrinkles*.
This is some ladies’ joke at looking young or a “second childhood”.

Ive seen child beauty pageants, and the made up children are still children. Those are adult faces. Makeup doesnt turn children’s faces into adult faces including bone structure & jawlines unless you think they had plastic surgery or rubber masks professionally applied.

  102. Trojan Man says:

  105. Dante says:

    PHOTOSHOPPED

  106. Summer says:

incidentally I did google “Toddlers and Tiaras” and child beauty pageants.
nothing to prove that picture isnt fake and even convinces me it is a fake because the children while disgustingly made up, still look like childrens faces. And the clothes are the key thing- those pageant girls wear clothes that cost 1,000 dollars and up, they wouldnt be caught dead in those cheap children’s bathing suits- they wear adult looking clothes remember?

  107. Alex says:

Auuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh how awful. I feel so bad for pageant children.

  108. The moron who posts stupid stuff says:

    They. Will. Haunt. My. Dreams…

  109. Scott says:

Definitely photoshopped, and a bad photoshop job at that.

  110. WotZit2ya says:

They look like two dollar whores, and considering the dollar to be week right now thats an insult! (Stan Smith anyone?)

  111. Hierophantria says:

Parents who do that to their daughters should be ashamed. They’re children, not barbie dolls.

  112. Matthew says:

    it’s been photoshopped ¬_¬

  113. Parent says:

That is not photoshopped they are my kids.

  114. Marcus says:

God Dam! I saw something like that on the movie “little miss sunshine”. Do some americans realy do this to theri children?!

    • Jenni says:

Yes they do sadly. There’s a show on TLC called ‘Toddlers and Tiaras’ about this. It’s is seriously disgusting and the kids are all spoiled little brats with no discipline.
      And this isn’t photoshopped.

  115. Thats a horrible photoshop job. Try harder next time. Or don’t try at all.

  116. Bawb says:

Does the one on the left… have PLASTIC SURGERY

  117. Patty says:

They call them flippers. (fake teeth) Since most kids at that age are missing teeth ot are too young for braces….parents shell out $200-$300 for fake teeth. ‘Lil Queen has to have perfect teeth!

    • Kaeli says:

While filming her second movie for Fox, Shirley Temple lost a tooth. Production stopped, and they rushed her off to a dentist so she could have a fake tooth put in. This was normal procedure for her. In her autobiography, she commented that America probably thought she’d never lost her baby teeth.

  118. SGmage says:

    THE PICTURE IS FAKE.

  119. 1pixie says:

      • Default Name says:

Ewewewewewewewew! Why in seven hells did I click!?! Half of them don’t even look like they’re having fun, they have that creepy ‘if you don’t hurry up and take the damn picture I will kill you and eat your brain’ smile.

  131. Demut says:

Wow, I never thought FailBlog would fail that hard. Of course the parents fail, right? They live in a piss-poor country and this is one of the few ways some of them can survive. Way to go, making fun of those people.

:( and it makes me remember two things:

    1) Little Miss Sunshine (at least it was less agressive)

    2) A reality show made by VH1 about events similar to the one that inspired Little Miss Sunshine, and indeed girls like the ones in the photo were shown (they want to be closer than Miss Universe, but the event is crappier than every beauty contest in the world…

    ALIEN WIN

  144. anonymous says:

I feel bad for these kids, i’ve seen a tv program about them and they act really strangely; one kid said she couldn’t wait to get a boob job or something and she was like 7, lol. It’s really unnatural and weird, and the parents of these girls are so annoying. They need help, seriously. :P

  150. Cinderella says:

My 15 year old daughter does glitz pageants, I know these two girls and can assure you that this picture is NOT photoshopped. Both of these little girls were on the Toddler and Tiara show, Karmen and Destiny. (With a name like Destiny….) Anyway…I personally think 5 and 6 is too young for this crap. (I wouldn’t let my daughter enter one until she was 13) It makes me sick to see them spray tanning their fetuses.

  151. Anonymous says:

    Pedo FAIL.

The whole appeal of children is that they are not yet corrupted by the world and not saddled with complicated adult standards.

To almost all pedophiles, putting ghastly makeup like this on children would be the equivalent of gluing artificial leper sores onto a beautiful woman.

    And… uh… don’t ask how I know this.

Reminds me of Bratz dolls. Ya know, the Bratz dolls aimed at little girls.. the girls that have collagen injections, wear party girl makeup and go to raves, oh and they have babies too. http://z.about.com/d/collectdolls/1/0/P/e/1/BratzBabyzCloeKaraoke.jpg

  161. OneHappyAtheist says:

  162. Failerella says:

I wish to God this was a photoshop but it’s real. People who pimp out their kids like this should be shot.

  163. Jules says:

The worst about it is that this is not the worst about it. Little girls usually like dressing up a bit as well as trying out make up. Not necessarily in this dimension, but the worst part of it still is the way these girls are being treated like show dogs by their mothers, and how they’re robbed of their childhood… And of course the message that you’ll only succeed when you’re pretty enough… This is so sick.

  164. Kit says:

Photoshopped. How many 5 or 7 year-olds have wrinkles? Look at the eyes of the one on the right. And the lighting is different for the faces than the bodies. Well done, though. Rather subtle.

    • Jules says:

I think what you think are wrinkles are actually huge false lashes. As for the lighting – strange makeup on their faces that just reflect light differently?

  165. Mr. Knowitall says:

OMG. If anyone thinks this is not Photoshopped, they propably don’t even know what photoshop is. If you don’t believe the faces are planted on just look at the shadows. And if your still not convinced look at the skin tone. Still not convinced check the angle the shot is taken and imagine what the shadow should look like and where the skin tone of the body should match the face due to the flashlight….
    OK.
That’s not even a good photoshop job guys… Come on

    • anonymous says:

It isn’t, they’re wearing tons of makeup which reflects the light differently than their spray tans….There is a tv show about it….you can see on the show it’s real

WTF?, thats photo shopped, no one has skin like that

  175. The Ninja says:

I think this picture has given me diabetes

  176. Kay says:

I sense a Photoshop in the force.

  177. Camilla :D says:

there is absolutely no way that this isnt photoshopped.

    • InTheBiz says:

There have been plenty of explanations given previously to educate you (and everyone else) about the world of child beauty pageants, and yet you insist that there is “absolutely no way” the picture isn’t photoshopped. Wow. Please take these comments to heart and believe me that, sadly, THE PHOTOGRAPH IS 100% GENUINE. As an advocate for parents and children in the entertainment industry, I am very familiar with the pageant world. It is shocking to see a picture of those 2 young girls made up to look like aging Vegas lounge singers, but I assure you, what you have seen is VERY representative of what is called “Full Glitz Beauty Pageant”.
AGAIN, for the “photoshop conspiracy theorists” out there:
1). a child’s head is proportionately larger in relation to his/her body than an adult’s
2). the head/face looks “fake” or “plastic” because of the heavily-applied, pancake make-up, in a non-matching color.
3). the heavily spray-tanned body also gives the appearance of the body/head disconnect. (Girls get spray tans before each pageant.)
4). the only real hair on the girls is in front, above their foreheads. The remainder is not really “extensions”, but full hairpieces or wiglets, which are rolled and set on a mannequin beforehand. This can make a child’s head HUGE.
5). the flipper: many children in the entertainment industry (stage, screen) use flippers, that is, small appliances to fill in for a single lost tooth. BUT in the pageant world, they have taken it to extremes. Dentists who cater to pageant moms create full sets of upper dentures – covering the entire row of upper teeth. These often result in a bulky, protruding, unnatural look to any “normal” person, but to a pageant person, they are “perfection”. (In fact, the 2 girls’ teeth in the picture look relatively age-appropriate. I have seen 7-yr-olds with a mouth full of adult chompers. Gross.)
6). many pageants have a bathing suit division, so that is the reason for the bikinis. (I have heard a pageant director say that that bikinis are allowed, but not thongs, “you have to have a perfect body to wear a thong.” And we are talking about 5 to 10 year-olds! Disgusting.
7). those aren’t crow’s feet, but the very large false eyelashes and the dramatic eye makeup. (Just fyi, makeup is almost always done by a separate person; someone else does hair. Someone else does tanning, someone else does acrylic nails, another coaches dance, someone else coaches interview, etc.
8). the huge lips are another result (and in the pageant world, a benefit) of the heavy makeup. They apply the lip liner outside of the natural lip line and fill in with lipstick…
9). Oh, and they pluck the eyebrows, too. On small children. Ladies, you know what it feels like. (I guess sometimes they shave their kid’s eyebrows, but still…)
10). after all this preparation, giant pixie sticks and other candy gives the little ones the “pep” needed to compete (you can see that in the photo, too).

I hope that by these examples you can see that, although gross, and shocking, and UNBELIEVABLE AT FACE VALUE, the photo is real.
What’s sad is that many (if not most) of these little girls like to get “dressed up and put on make up”. It is a very complicated issue.
Thanks for allowing me to shed some light. (Oh, and pageants are a phenomenon across the US – even Hawaii – and not just Texas.)

  178. brian says:

Disgusting. Those little girls are not even getting a childhood.

  179. Dr.OMG says:

*looks at the first 1* ahhh!! its barbie

  180. Cocal says:

For all those people that say this is fake or photshopped, just check this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeGBFgNxewc

  181. Strangedaze says:

Wow, Kathy Lee Gifford’s kids sure are growing up fast.

  182. ViDsTeR says:

People, this is a moment to remember. The day two girls become… Whores..

  183. Toes says:

does anyone else think the one on the left looks like miley cyrus?

    • E-Rok says:

I totally see it… I don’t think these are shopped, but it *almost* looks like someone stuck Miley’s face on her.

  184. Ignatz says:

One thing we’re overlooking in all this analysis is the profit motive. Beauty pageants offer big prizes to the winners and their families – cash, scholarships, consumer goods, even cars. There’s also the chance that the girls might get picked up for modeling or acting jobs. The kid pageants feed into the teen pageants, and eventually into the adult pageants. The winners get pretty big money all the way along.

It’s sad to see the kids used as sources of profit and as proxies for the frustrated dreams of their mothers. But you want really disgusting, check out the little boy pageants. Ewww.

  185. The Whole Coin says:

That looks like a photo from the Bennett incident. Looks just like the girl on the right.

    Too soon. Still too soon.
When will these shows be outlawed?

  186. moo says:

dudee… wtff… it’s likee, what the helll (4 lack of an intelligent commentt)

  187. Elie says:

This looks like it’s a cut-out where you stick your head in over a body. Either that or it’s shop’d

  188. atli says:

    Photoshop!!!

  189. Patrick says:

Only in the U.S.A does this shit happen….It’s very sad.

  190. Floreanof Gubblecote says:

I am completely transfixed. It’s like something out of a Sam Raimi film, but I really believe it’s not nightmare, it’s real life! The zombie mums are coming to get your kids, and if they can’t find them, they’ll do it to you.
I dowanna wear a halter top, I dowanna have custard put on my face. I’m going to close my laptop now and walk away quietly and slowly, hoping that no-one saw me see that.
Ye Gods, I thought we Brits had enough to blame the Yanks for, but this just totally raises the bar.

    • Spatula City says:

      It’s not all of us… I swear!

      Of course, that’s exactly what we WOULD say, if it were indeed all of us. So I wouldn’t blame you if you, say, launched a preemptive war, or something ;_;

  191. Tiffany says:

They look like Hawaiian showgirls. Spokeswomen for PedoBear. Eww.

  192. Lenore says:

It’s like their faces are 30 years older than the rest of them. Who the crap finds this kind of puke cute or attractive?

  193. Amanda says:

Does this not look photoshopped to anyone??

    • Lai-Lai says:

It looks very photoshopped. I know children have big heads, but not with prominant cheakbones, & how can the girl be tan with a pale face?

  194. That is horrible. Not something we should be teaching our youth.

  195. Wizardling says:

    Just EUUUUU!

  196. t4kit0 says:

Not shooped. It’s called stage makeup.

  197. gimplord says:

Those are the programmers of photoshop, the pic here was taken just after they invented the first photoshop software, a happy moment.

  198. Flipper says:

Of course it’s Photoshopped you dopes, I know there are pathetic child pageants, and this was probably set up by a well meaning person trying to degrade the practice. Zoom in, you can see where it was pasted, 2 different resolutions, the higher one being the faces.

    • carpman says:

When you zoom in all you can see is JPEG artifacts. Though it looks like the faces might have been blurred at some point, which is pretty common with vanity shots.

  199. Lai-Lai says:

Dressing your kids up like the Olson Twins on Martigras is a cruel & unusual punishment for us all.

    ::jibblies::

  200. Akbar says:

    This is clearly shopped…
The right one looks kinda like Anna Faris though.

  201. coltrane says:

they need to live there life without being fake
come on now what mother would want there children to go through this

  202. Incondite says:

These girls are on a reality television show called Toddlers and Tiaras. It’s totally effed up. Moms make their little girls dress up like this and have them dance around in swanky outfits. I’ve only seen it once or twice, just coz’ nothing better was on.

    Child abuse much?

  203. Nikki says:

    They grew up so fast…

  204. Sean Grant says:

The sad thing is, this is real.

  205. Miranda Northrup says:

this is from one of those kitty pageants. they really do look like that at those shows

  206. carpman says:

EPIC parenting fail when so many people are convinced your actual children are Photoshopped!

  207. lh says:

If my mother had done this to me when i was younger, I’d've killed her.

  208. L!f3_tak3r says:

They are in the beauty padgents like in texas…they start really young.

  209. catastrophematt says:

    Little miss drag queen?

  210. aaron gormley says:

    they grow up so fast

  211. yui810 says:

The fat one on the right is the man.

  212. Michelle says:

Unfortunately, the very first thing I thought of was Jonbenet Ramsey. That case really brought attention to child beauty pagents, and how strange and unnatural the lifestyle and look is for a small girl, even though the matter didn’t seem related to the murder.

  213. Evan says:

There are gypsies’s kid that dress and look exactly like that. North Augusta in Georgia

  214. Luigi says:

I am too appauled to type anything witty.

  215. beaEval says:

does that little girl have crows feet?

  216. Disgusted says:

I am sickened by this type of thing, and have one reply to show the horror and the twited people who do this to there innocent children: JonBenét Ramsey. May that poor little girl Rest In Peace, and her parents live with what they did to that poor thing for the rest of their lives.

  217. Ls. says:

    FRICK MY EYES BURN

  218. Daniel says:

    PedoBear approves

  219. Lissey says:

Makeup is real, jawline on the one on the left is total photoshop, and a poor one at that. Look at her face outline near her eyes.

  220. Ctrl- Alt-Elite says:
