This is going to be one quote filled comments section!!

      • troll says:

the man beside her must be like ‘plz control yourself mom…omg…’

        • Spoon God says:

We need someone to do subtitles, PLEASE! I can’t hear his insane cheering!!!!!! D=

          • Spoon God says:

            her*

or is it? I really cant tell – my grandad looks exactly like that person.

            • Sean Cann says:

Oh, my, look what we have here. A typical fail-blogger recording his mom with a camera phone!!!

              • require this says:

well i for one find diseases like this funny and would expect no less from anyone else should they observe me under the affect of such a disease because i wouldnt f*cking know what was going on and even if i did id hopefully still remember that i laughed like them before

                • MAX says:

                  wtf is this?!?!
last time I checked failblog was a website that shows funny fails.
This is just discrimination against a handicaped person!!!…
sad, poor(not her, failblog!) and just not funny.
Please TAKE IT OFF THE SITE!

                  • yep says:

Yeah, agreed. Mental disabilities…not funny. I kept hoping that the guy next to her was about to do something fail…that it was him we were laughing at, not this poor woman. Whoever posted this, fail. Big fail.

                    • You think this is funny? says:

I also agree this video should never have been posted. This person clearly has some sort of disability, possibly schizophrenia.

To the person who took this video:
Why don’t you hang around a VA hospital or a school for crippled children. I’m sure you can get some hilarious shots of people falling out of their wheelchairs or tripping on their crutches. Real funny stuff.

BTW if you’re too dense to get it, that’s sarcasm, you insensitive piece of sh*t.

And a big “f*ck you” to fail blog for posting this.

And before the dipsh*ts tell me to “lighten up”, let me add this:

I have a schizophrenic brother. I have heard him screaming at night at the demons only he can hear; I have seen him flailing his arms at monsters only he can see; I’ve seen him laugh at jokes only he can hear.

Mental illness is not entertaining; it is tragic and terrifying. Tragic because the person with the illness suffers EVERY DAY of their life. Terrifying because diseases like schizophrenia can strike any young person; usually in the prime of their life.

My brother was diagnosed at 20 years of age. He’s 50 now, and must take several medications a day, in order to behave “normally”. But he still hears the voices and hallucinates. And the drugs make him feel tired, numb, and depressed. Ask him how funny he thinks it is.

I come to failblog to laugh at the unintended screw-ups we are all apt to make; not to mock the unfortunate innocent victims of horrible illnesses.

Shame on you Fail Blog! MAJOR FAIL

                      • Zigi says:

I agree, this is a new low for failblog. I don’t come here to expect politically correct humour, but having a go at somebody who is clearly mentally ill is pathetic.

                        • Lizard King says:

My gf is bipolar and I’ve seen her do stuff… liek she once cut her own arm like a chess board, it was horrifying.

Anyway, I think this is funny. I do. But at the very least, they should have censored her face.

“Awh but that takes time, and we don’t like to work!”

Then don’t upload things like this, where you make fun of a clearly mentally insane person.

I agree with pissed-off-guy up there: Major FAILblog Fail

                        • Spoon God says:

No wonder the “most watched channel on youtube” has been banned NUMEROUS times.

                        • Gman says:

Image if that was your mom, aunt or grandma all over the internet.

                      • Zylstra says:

Can you prove to me that this person in the video has a mental disability? Sure, it looks like it, but I’ve seen people do crazy things on airplanes for no reason.

                        • You think this is funny? says:

Can anyone here prove she’s not? What kind of person would make fun of her w/o knowing whether she is sick or not? I’ll tell you what kind; immature and/or callous people. I expect children to laugh, and for the adults in their life to point out why that is wrong. If you are over 13, and you are laughing at this woman, you just might be an as*hole.

The subtitle of the video says “Sanity FAIL” . Therefore the blog owners are themselves suggesting she is insane, and that mental illness is a “fail” that should be ridiculed. Would they also say a person with cerebral palsy or Parkinson’s disease had failed, and encourage people to laugh? Are the tremors of Michael J Fox and a drooling Stephen Hawking also FAILS according to this blog?

And they don’t even attempt to hide her identity, which would at least preserve her dignity and privacy. Really low. It would serve them right if they get sued by the family.

Those who laugh at this woman, and then want to convince themselves that there is nothing wrong with her, if that’s what it takes to make you feel better about your reaction, go ahead and lie to yourself. And hope that you or someone you love is not stricken with a terrible disease.

                        • Spoon God says:

“Sanity Fail” in the video. Proving her sanity would do nothing as this still shows Failblog thinks that this person is insane, and is mocking it.

                      • iwashere33 says:

can’t be that bad a condition, he’s still alive after 30 odd years.

he goes nuts and walks in front of a truck, that’s nature or natural selection whichever you prefer.

face it, if you can’t laugh at it then you are afraid of it. and if you are afraid of it, then the terrorists have won.

                    • Gman says:

                      I agree. This isnt funny.

                  • AmandaMagick says:

Yeah I agree she is definitely mentally handicap. NOT FUNNY.

        • Himechan says:

WTF I totally submitted this video a month ago, who the heck is boxman0527.

        • timemaker says:

grandma and meth, do not mix them…….

      • Meph says:

She clearly has a mental health problem and you’re laughing at her?

        • DUh says:

Mental health problems are just god’s way of light-hearted humor.

          Like alzheimers.

          • Ingeld says:

Yeah, I visit an Alzheimer’s ward at a nursing home every day to see my elderly father, the man who loved me and raised me, and to see a bright, witty, and funny mind that has been ravaged by a disease. You should visit such ward one sometime so you can appreciate the humor that is alzheimer’s.

            • pasquinelli says:

              why so serious?

              • Ingeld says:

Why so serious? I fail to find humor in a disease that has caused the person who has loved me and raised me to no longer recognize me. It is a living death. That is why.

                • hexapyro says:

                  I’m with you.
There’s no point in laughing at sick people.

                • pasquinelli says:

that’s why the joke is funny.

                • lili says:

Amen. My great-grandmother developed Alzheimer’s in her early 70s–a woman who, up to that point, had been a loving, caring, physically strong wife and mother. Not only did she forget who we were, she grew uncontrollably violent, and so had to be put into long-term care, where the disease left her a frail shell with no ability to function, mentally or physically, until her death at 79. Add to that, my mother’s youngest brother developed Alzheimer’s at the ungodly young age of 37, and died at 42, unable to recognise his wife, who nursed him until he died. “Funny” is the last thing that it is.

                  • toejam says:

coming from a health professional: some mental disorders can frequently be funny to observe. If you don’t take a moment and laugh at the situation, you’d crumble under the weight of the despair.

this is funny. alzheimers, not so much. but this is funny.

                    • Robyn says:

Coming from another health professional, mental disorders are never funny. And this is not funny either.

                      • Me says:

Coming from me, this is funny. And why shouldn’t it be? Obviously this person was having a great time! I don’t think they mind…

                      • your mom says:

it’s not a mental disorder…. the coke bag she swallowed before getting on the plane burst and she’s high as a kite!!!

                      • M says:

I agree. I’m a mental health professional and seeing things like this… perhaps this person doesn’t have a mental health problem, but there’s always that possibility judging by the way they’re acting… I just don’t see the humor in this. It makes me sad.

                      • toejam says:

you’ve never laughed about a patient? that, more than the video, should make us sad.

if someone were to tell you she were doing this voluntarily, it’d be funny. so laugh at the surface of it, then worry yourself about whats beneath, if you’re so inclined.

                    • Kayla says:

I’m not a mental health professional, but I can absolutely understand that mentality!
Many times, you can either laugh or cry… Find humor in a situation, or be crippled by the hopelessness.
This works for some people and not others.
While most people can laugh but still understand the seriousness, some just take everything as a joke and those are the people who give us all a bad name.

                    • Chris says:

I’ll consult a professional comedian, not a health professional, on the issue of whether this video is funny, TYVM.

                    • You think this is funny? says:

It is one thing for you, someone who has to deal with crazy behavior all day long, to try to lighten your load with humor amongst other health care professionals. I have no problem with that attitude. You’ve got a tough job.

But, IMO, it’s pretty unprofessional, and very insensitive to mentally ill people and their families, to encourage the general public to laugh at the mentally disabled.

The mentally ill suffer enough. They don’t need the people who are supposed to be helping them, encouraging others to see them as entertainment.

                  • blank says:

I dont think Alzheimer’s is a laughing matter, or that this woman should be laughed at either, i just dont think that what this woman is displaying is Alzheimer’s. To me it looks more like Autism. One of my best friends has a brother who has acute Autism and it looks almost exactly like this.

                  • KatieZ says:

Yes.. let’s never laugh again. It may upset someone.

                • name says:

                  agreed!!!

            • rachael says:

u poor person, be strong xx

          • octavian says:

Mental health problems are fun as hell (c)

          • Hamam says:

            DUDE… WIN!

          • WebMD says:

My diagnosis is manic phase of bipolar disorder.

        • Davin says:

          Probably has Tourettes syndrome.

          • Gordonski says:

Nope. Tourette is different than that. People with Tourettes syndrom don’t have a mental handicap like this person seems to have. Either way, nothing to laugh at.

            • PodMonkey says:

Agreed, probably more like Dementia, which really can be funny as hell. Laughing at disabilities isn’t funny. Laughing at funny disabilities is funny.

Honestly, if I was crazy, I’d rather people be happy than sad. What’s the good of bringing sadness to the world?

              • 3424 says:

You don’t know what you would want if you were “crazy”. You are not crazy, you have no idea what it’s like to have a mental disability or illness.

If you do have such problems one day, then you will discover people with mental disabilities are avoided by pretty much everyone but those who love them.

For most people, it doesn’t matter that your disability just makes you a little bit strange (not dangerous nor a nuisance). The simple fact that you’re somehow abnormal and that it’s a psychological problem will make people avoid you. Few people are willing to overcome your problem and be your friend.

So I doubt you will want people to laugh at your problem, because that will just remind you they notice it and they are bothered by it. It will remind you of why the only people who still call you are your family and your best friend.

And for the record, I think saying “If I had such problem/disability then I would want people to do this and that” is just the way selfish douchebags justify their despicable actions. In the current situation, mocking someone’s dsability.
Not that you, PodMonkey, are a douchebag, but what you said does make you look like one.

                • PodMonkey says:

Yup. You’re right. The woman in the video is clearly bothered by the fact that the guy next to her is currently pretending that she doesn’t exist. In fact, I think she’s going to start sulking any minute now.

I’ve known several people with various screws loose in the nugget. The ones that have accepted it don’t care much about it, same with anyone who has an abnormal characteristic. They deal with it, get a chuckle out of it when they can. I have very poor short-term memory. I tend to forget things almost right after they happen unless I’m really being careful not to, in which case I have to repeat what is said a few times in my mind to remember. Rather than cry “Don’t make fun of me!” when my wife laughs at it, I just nod and say that my “Chronic Neuro-Flatulance” has reared its ugly head again.

Ever think that I might actually be someone that has overcome their own short-circuits and has learned to accept them?

No, of course not. Someone with no handicaps would think it impossible to accept or overcome a problem they’ve never experienced and cannot imagine having.

                • Gigi says:

uhm if you realize that then you probably also can figure out that just being depressed by people like this instead of taking it in stride is what causes many people to abandon those with mental issues. If others would join her a bit and see the humor i’m sure she would be happier than say if she was just ignored.

                • SecretScoundrel says:

I’ve been seriously disabled all of my life and I’ve struggled just to do daily activities… I will tell everyone from personal experience, sometimes it is depressing as hell and I cry but sometimes if I don’t just laugh at it all I would die. Humor IS the best medicine sometimes.

                • Gregora says:

@3424: You’re right about the fact that everyone avoids someone who is odd. I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome when I was 11 or 12. Everyone thinks I’m weird. But I agree with neurological disorders are NOT funny.

Concerning the whole Alzheimer’s conversation: I can sympathize with those who’ve gone through a “living death” because I was fairly close to my grandmother on my mom’s side and when I was 11 or 12, she had a stroke and I went to see her before she passed away when I was 16. She couldn’t recognize me and was in her own world much worse than I do (being autistic, I’m in my own world a lot myself). It really was almost like she had become a shell of her former self and I regret that I had seen her in that condition.

Concerning those who think neurological disorders are funny: There are funny things that happen due to it, but that doesn’t make disorders funny. Like since I’m autistic, I’m a klutz and I laugh at my clumziness a lot. That doesn’t mean that this video is funny. I was cringing at the not-funny-ness of it all. I don’t see a fail, in fact I wouldn’t be too surprised if the lady in this video was/is very autistic. That doesn’t mean she’s to be laughed at all the time.

People laughed at me all the time and still do because of my autism and it just depresses me because I don’t intend to be funny all the time. Just give people like me a break.

                • Dmoney says:

I’m avoided by pretty much everyone except those who love me too.

        • Marlin84 says:

Mental health problems can be self-inflicted, such as consuming too much of a mind-altering substance..

        • PeaceyP says:

        • I agree completely. This is wrong. Failblog, you let me down. Please do not post videos or “fails”-which this was most certainly not- like this again. Ridicule me all you want, fellow commenters, but I did not find this to be humorous in the least. This targeted developmentally disabled people, and it’s not funny.

        • helen says:

totally agree…not funny at all, it’s sad

      • me says:

        ure an idiot

        • Lulu says:

The irony in the comment ”me” left is much better than the video itself.
Oh and if you are going to call someone an idiot. Check, double check, and triple check your grammar and spelling. You mean ”You’re” not ‘Ure’.
          :’D
          You’re welcome!
On the topic of the video, this is in poor taste. The passenger in this clip obviously has some sort of mental instability.

BTW if you’re too dense to get it, that’s sarcasm, you insensitive piece of sh*t.

And a big “f*ck you” to fail blog for posting this.

And before you tell me to “lighten up”, let me add this:

I have a schizophrenic brother. I have heard him screaming at night at the demons only he can hear; I have seen him flailing his arms at monsters only he can see; I’ve seen him laugh at jokes only he can hear.

Mental illness is not entertaining; it is tragic and terrifying. Terrifying because diseases like schizophrenia can strike at any young person; usually in the prime of their life.

My brother was diagnosed at 20 years of age. He’s 50 now, and must take several medications a day, in order to behave “normally”. But he still hears the voices and hallucinates.

I come to failblog to laugh at the unintended screw-ups we are all apt to make; not to mock the unfortunate innocent victims of horrible illnesses.

    • Dr says:

I do not share the same opinion of you. If some mentally deranged person is willing to use this kind of service, he/she should be stabilized before doing so. Neuropharmacology has several options of neuroleptics or weak sedatives. If something bad happens and the patient is in this condition, it may be a liability for all the other passengers.

So, it is indeed a fail.

      • risskia says:

        you mean anti-psychotics? or sedatives?

I’d prescribe Seroquel first, and try Lithium Carb 2nd.

        • Dr says:

          neuroleptics = anti-psychotics
          From greek: lepthos = thin

Quetiapine (AstraZeneca’s Seroquel) is a very efficient drug, but can increase mortality in dementia-related psychosis. As we DO NOT KNOW what derangement this lady has, we should be cautious about prescribing stuff.

      • 3424 says:

Are you actually suggesting people with a mental disability should be sedated every time they go in public or use a public service?
And why? Because they are a bit annoying to others when they behave like the woman in this video?

I think you are much more insane than this woman. And I wish they sedated people like you when you plan to post something on the Internet.

        • Dr says:

I must admit that the sedation part may be wishful thinking. Although a review article from the New England Journal of Medicine states: “An acutely agitated, psychotic, or violent passenger may be sedated with a benzodiazepine if it is available in the on-board medical kit.” on april 4, 2002, but I am unaware of the current FAA advices.
But, if I am insane, these guys who wrote this article are too, and the editorial board of the NEJM – one of the most respected medical journals – who published this are insane too.
All of this have reasons. Psychotics already tried to hijack aicrafts and may be a liability.

That doesnt look like “development disorder”, that looks like “mental illness”. That or they decided to take drugs to make the flight go by faster, and overshot the dose.

Regardless of the reason… someone on the ground should not have let this person onto the plane. If they are not capable of conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, other passengers should not have to put up with them.

    • Gordonski says:

Why? They let obese people fly, too. Have you ever had the joy of feeling somebody else’s sweat run down your arm? I have to put up with that, while this lady is mostly harmless, just loud, but so are children…

      • Justin says:

The difference is I’m not worried that children will try to open the airplane door at 20,000 feet.

        • Gordonski says:

But you’re worried that some old lady might achieve that?

It doesn’t look like autistic behavior. She/he is trying to actively engage the guy by the window – to the point I was afraid he’d get poked in the eye or something.
The main fail I see is that someone who seems to need supervision isn’t getting it. On an airplane. Some poor people are getting chucked off planes because they “look arab” and other fliers freak out about it, yet this person can flail around, poke at a fellow passenger and do all sorts of outlandish things with impunity? Where is the air marshal when this stuff is going on?

        • NV8R Zia says:

Maybe the guy at the window and possibly some other people around her are her family and/or escorts? Or maybe it’s a panic attack or something. And the reason they’re all (without reason) afraid of “arab-looking” people rather than this woman is 1) How many people do you know like that can build a working bomb? 2) Some people veiw this as a “photo oppertunity”.

I’ve been exposed to a number of people on the autism spectrum. I’ll leave it at that. The grabbiness this person exhibited towards their fellow passenger seldom shows up unless the person gets angry, and this person isn’t angry.

I guess it’s possible, but she seems awfully happy and chipper for that to be the explanation. I’m sure an autistic person probably would be likely to have a very hard time in that kind of environment, but the autistic people I’ve met tend to get withdrawn or angry in those circumstances.

While I would agree that making fun of the mentally ill is not cool, I also think that people should lighten up a bit. Particularly since you don’t know why she’s behaving that way. Could be mentally ill. Could be a reaction to drugs and air pressure like someone suggested. Or it could be illicit drugs (she really doesn’t seem drunk to me).

Everyone complaining about making fun of the disabled needs to STFU. And crazy people need to take their meds!

    • Kat says:

I agree with you entirely. As a person with a mental illness also I take my meds regularly and would certainly expect to be escorted off the plane if I behaved like that. Likewise with stupid parents who bring screaming babies/children on airplanes. Morons.

      • Marjorie says:

What I can’t stand is self-righteous little genetic dead-enders who get their panties in a twist if a baby makes a sound on a place. They’re babies. Sometimes, when you have a baby, you need to fly somewhere. Babies cannot be ‘made’ to shut up.

  74. VLC says:

I’ve just read through all the comments and was surprised that no one had the response I did–that being on a plane with a person behaving that way (I don’t care why she was) would give me a flaming anxiety attack.

Then again, I’d take my medication for that and be unconscious for the rest of the flight, so I probably won’t notice after the first half hour of hyperventilation and off-the-charts blood pressure.

I would be most interested in how high the stress levels were for the other passengers. One person’s perfectly fine flight (she didn’t seem to be frightened or in pain) is not equal to the stress and discomfort of the dozens or hundreds of other passengers.

How is it all right to let people like that on a plane without an attendant?

    • lili says:

That person might be loud and distracting, but she didn’t seem to be a genuine danger; swinging one’s arms and calling out “Right on!” is hardly something to be feared. So why should she need an attendant?

    • HD says:

THANK YOU. My thoughts exactly. I have a phobia of flying that sometimes causes anxiety attacks, for which I am in therapy and for which I have a prescription. However, on a recent flight for which I was particularly rushed, I misplaced my medication and had to take the flight unmedicated. It was unpleasant, but I kept my anxiety to myself (as I always have — the only people who ever even notice are traveling companions, when I have them) and got through okay. I would NOT be able to keep it together with someone like this sitting near me. Someone like this woman could very well possibly cause a full-on medical problem for me, which makes putting HER on a flight in this state dangerous to other passengers.

Hell, the main reason I don’t find this fail funny is because I find it scary instead. But, just as I don’t have a problem with people laughing at my phobia (it’s irrational! I understand this! When I’m not in the middle of an attack *I* find it funny!), I don’t have a problem with finding the humor in other people acting irrationally, for whatever reason they might be acting that way.

  75. Benjo says:

That was probably some 1.5 hour flight – I had to put up with some guy just like that sitting across from me who was freaking out and going insane on a 15 hour flight. The best thing a person can do is put earbuds in your ear and ignore… even if you’re not listening to anything.

  76. Good question says:

plain and simple- they shouldn’t allow people like that on a plane without an attendant. ever.

    • JMason says:

As adults, it is their right to do what they please. It’s against the law to force her to have an “attendant.”

  77. Cynthia says:

The woman is emaciated, and she is younger than she looks because she has lost most of her teeth. She has the hallmark appearance of a meth user. Add this to her behavior, and I would say she’s cranked pretty high on meth right there. Her appearance is that of every meth head I’ve ever seen – if that were not the case, I’d agree with those who mention autism or other mental conditions. The meth in her system is making it very hard for her to stay in her seat, and she feels pretty good. She’s not nervous or frightened. I’m surprised no one else here picked up on her physical appearance – but maybe you haven’t seen these addicts. It’s pretty sad.

    • Larry says:

Hey there Dr. Phil, I don’t know what kind of meth addicts you hang around but this woman is insane, plain and simple. No drugs just batshit crazy.

      • Mick says:

        Larry,

It’s a meth addict all the way. You have no idea what you are talking about. You are like a child who wanders in to the middle of a movie…..

    • Sqwirk says:

Meth does not make people lose their teeth.

Self neglect + a poor public health provision (total lack of dental care) + drinking sugary soda is what does it.

Most Americans treat their teeth pretty badly (hence the high incidence of cavities) but make up for it with interventionist dental care. Take away that dental care and you get “meth mouth”.

      • Sqwirk says:

Basically the only thing that causes dental decay is sugar.

The other types of “acid” do no harm at all. Not unless you’re deliberately holding diet soda in your mouth for minutes at a time for some reason (the phosphoric acid in diet coke is a very weak acid).

        • robotulism says:

Dude, you need to catch up on some Intervention. Meth makes people lose their teeth. Like, crazy fast. Nice to know you don’t live in an area where it runs rampant.

Oh, shit, that gives me an idea, I should make and sell black market dentures.

        • Sqwirk says:

Plenty of prescription drugs reduce saliva production at least as much as meth.

And yes it’s the acid the bacteria produce and the ‘stickiness’ of that acid and the bacterial plaques. This only comes about because of the sugar in your diet.
The acids in your diet (of which citric acid is the worst) are basically harmless unless you were mouth washing with them for some reason.

Meth mouth is a myth. This is just what happens when you lose your dental insurance and don’t look after yourself.

It makes a nice story because lots of Americans have so little to distinuish themselves from the ‘poor’ that their health insurance is a point of pride for them (see the current fight over healthcare).

  86. risskia says:

I can. This looks like Bipolar 1, manic phase.
Of course, I’d need a LOT more history on her before I made any sort of diagnosis, but she’s exhibiting pressured speech, excitability, inappropriate affect, and what looks liek grandiosity.

A previous poster mentioned her constant facial motions, which resemble tardive dyskinesia, which is the result of long term anti-psychotic usage.

  87. Proto says:

    It’s the diabeetus.

  89. Trev says:

I know she’s mentally ill, but it reminded me of Fear and Loathing.
“WE CAN’T STOP HERE! This is BAT country!”

  90. Michaelcj5 says:

Chill out people. Being mentally handicapped sucks, but being treated like less than a person is worse. I have close relationships with several mentally handicapped people in my life, and there is one thing they all have in common. They all understand (for the most part) that they are different and may never do the things that other people are able to do, but that’s no reason to treat them differently. There’s no reason that we can’t laugh at this, especially since nobody knows what is really wrong with her.

    • JMason says:

I, too, am very close to developmentally disabled people. My sister, two of my nephews, and most of the kids I’ve worked with have autism. You’re right to say that some of them understand that they’re different. However, my adult-aged sister will tell you that they do NOT appreciate being laughed at. In her own words, “Just because I’m different doesn’t make it ok to be mean to me.” The only laughter that should come with this is that she is clearly very happy to be on that plane. We should be sharing in her joy. Not poking fun.

  91. clavicula says:

flying is great… perhapse a slight exaggeration on her part though?

  92. stfu says:

omg… I’m not even freaking kidding that’s my friend’s grandma. I’ve met her. I cannot believe she’s FINALLY on this website lol!!

  93. Vermin says:

Is she on mushrooms or something?

  94. kittmaner says:

No wonder she in first class, she gets OFF the plane sooner. XD

  95. YdnarOrandy says:

So who should be responsible for HER actions. And your qualified to diagnose schizophrenia how ? From watching a video. Man your good. Hahahaa!!

People are laughing because it’s funny. Period. Not one of these people knows the whole story about this woman. Get off that high horse.

    • Mick says:

Exactly. I do feel sorry for the lady, but her condition is self inflicted. Do a quick search of videos of people on meth and you will notice a pattern…. and its not that they all have alzheimers, or schizophrenia.

      • Pandawanda says:

Actually this is quite common behavior for someone who is experiencing a schizophrenic episode. They are out of touch with reality and often behave inappropriately due to their delusions.

  96. Catherine says:

I am an avid fan of failblog… it is my favorite source of entertainment. However, I am disappointed by this so-called “fail.” The person clearly has a mental disorder–probably a form of mental retardation. Funny or not, posting a video of them on a site like this is inappropriate and sends a disturbing message: that people with mental disorders are a FAIL.

  97. Franke says:

    Maaan!! she is TRIPPING!

  98. Pi-Rat says:

This is what happens when you switch Grandma’s meds

  99. Fehz says:

I don’t care.. I’m totally laughing at the whack-job who hasn’t had her crack in the last hour..

  100. Steph says:

Fail for posting this- mental health is no joke..

  101. Rhyle says:

Yeah, I have to agree with some of the earlier posts – laughing at the someone who is obviously mentally disabled or handicapped makes this a Failblog FAIL

  102. Ran says:

I can see that she’s obviously got a problem, but I think that it isn’t right to inflict her on a fuselage full of people crammed together like sardines for a god-knows-how-long flight. If I was on that plane I’d be pissed as hell. The people caring for her need to be more responsible and either medicate her or find another way to travel.

    • JMason says:

You have the type of attitude that put people like this woman, my sister, and two of my nephews in mental institutions to be forgotten and abused back in the day. She deserves to be on that plane just as much as you do.

      • lili says:

I’m wondering why Ran thinks that there is necessarily anyone caring for her. Perhaps that fellow next to her is so patient with her because he knows her; perhaps he is in fact her “attendant”. Or her grandson, or nephew, or son.

What’s exceptionally rude is that people recorded her–and then put it on the internet. Appalling.

        • Rainfox says:

Seriously doubt that the guy next to her is her attendant, as he seems supremely uncomfortable and looks like he’d rather be dead.

I do agree that this video should not have been posted. It’s not funny.

      • Marv says:

Wow, you have incredibly lousy genetics, please, do your part to end mental illness and don’t reproduce.

  103. DiagnosisFTW says:

“Clearly fail” – as in the commenters who have said “Clearly, she is bipolar” or “Clearly, he has a developmental disorder.” It’s clearly *not* that clear; we’re numerous comments in and haven’t even agreed on the sex of the person (who, by the way, is clearly the person who decided Sarah Palin would be a good candidate for vice president).

    • jamisings says:

Anyone’s better then Biden. My DOG would make a better VP. I wish people would leave Palin alone. She’s bright, she speaks her mind, and unlike Hillary “I’ll stay with my cheating husband because that’s the only way a woman can get votes” Clinton, Palin is a TRUE feminist.

      • CelticJess says:

Palin also thinks rape is ok. Are you first in line?

        • DiagnosisFTW says:

The assertion that “anyone’s better” doesn’t mean you should just take the next person up the list and nominate them for VP. I think this person would make a better VP than Palin. At least s/he isn’t claiming to be seeing Russia from somewhere over Colorado.

      • CarmenT says:

She made rape victims in Alaska pay for the lab work on the rape kits if they wanted to pursue justice. Just rape victims, not other crime victims. That isn’t feminism. It’s misogyny. And vile.

        • NV8R Zia says:

Can we put that above comment ^ on Engrish?

          • DiagnosisFTW says:

I doubt it, as the above comment is grammatically correct – with the possible “prescriptive” exception of the sentence fragment “And vile.” But as that fragment is used for emphatic effect, I think in a descriptive sense of the use of English, it’s permissible. “That above comment,” however, would qualify for Engrish if we were being picky.

      • Rainfox says:

She’s not “bright”. She’s a spectacular idiot who melts down as soon as she gets an unscripted intelligent question. I flush things on a daily basis with a higher IQ than Palin.

Personally I would vote for Tina Fey before Sarah Palin

  104. CelticJess says:

The first thing I thought when watching the video is: Autism.

Her flapping, uncontrolled gestures. The way she speaks, in catchphrases and echolalia.

It’s exactly how my son acts.
I’m greatly disappointed in the FAIL Blog community for posting this and at my fellow humans for being such dinks in thinking this is funny.

  105. soultron says:

  109. al says:

Even if she isn’t autistic, this is still wrong because there is the chance that she could be and in that case would be very offending

  110. JMason says:

This person clearly has autism. You’re laughing at her, but the funniest thing is under her quirky behavior, she’s probably much smarter than you are.

  111. Sqwirk says:

There are no physical symptoms of schizophrenia or any mental illness.

The muscular ticks and repetitive movements schizophrenics develop come from the antipsychoctic drugs they are prescribed.

Those drugs have a 50% chance of causing parkinisons like symptoms after 10 years and a 90% chance after 20 years.

    Google “tardive dyskinesia”.

This is one very good reason never to have any kind of mental breakdown.
You are likely to be given antipsychotics even with no history of mental illness, and even a short period on these drugs (a month) has a 10% chance of casusing permanent brain damage.

    • Pandawanda says:

You are quite right about the older antipsychotics but there are some newer drugs that are much better and do not generally lead to parkinsons. Still, it would be really unfortunate to have schizophrenia regardless…

Meh. My bad taste radar’s going off. Even though we can’t diagnose her with anything, it’s pretty obvious that she’s mentally ill. Not so funny, and not in the Failblog spirit. We’re here to laugh at stupid people, not the mentally disabled.

    • codymfbonds says:

how do you know she isn’t drunk i mean isn’t it kinda wrong of you to just go off and say she is mentally ill i mean possible yes but maybe she is a stupid person maybe she is high or drunk or god knows…. something else i bet you watched the whole thing didn’t you so don’t that make you just as bad as the person who posted this….

How can you laugh at an illness like that? I suppose all you people who thought it was funny also laugh at cancer patients. How can you put this video and this situation on the same place with stupid people trying to park a car.

Fail Blog admins, please remove this video from your list. It has no place there.

  125. risu says:

Okay. I want to see that remixed with a fast techno song on Youtube. NOW. That would be so hilarious.

  126. Chris says:

Posting this video is a FAIL. This poor woman is obviously mentally ill. If this was your family member would you be laughing? Why don’t you post some crying Haitian children as your next video? That would be just as insensitive. There is a difference between a fail and cruelty, and this belongs in the latter category.

  131. If you can’t laugh at it, you’re taking it too seriously. That applies to everything – absolutely /everything/. Life itself is a joke – the only meaning to be found within it is what we give to it. Once you let go of what you assume to be important, you find the things that really are important.

Mental illness is hardly a minor thing. But can it be funny? Absolutely. Laugh – laugh, and be merry. Don’t do it around the person in question if it would hurt them (and as you can’t be sure, err on the side of caution), but for your own purposes, nothing is taboo. Your rights end where everyone else’s begin, but barring that, you’re free to find humor in any situation you care to find it in.

That goes for comedians, politics, kites, puppies, snails, egg beaters, mental illness, death, cats, cats eating cheeseburgers, Hypnotoads, or whatever else strikes your fancy or your humor.

    Lighten up, guys.

    • SamDamage says:

The difference is that most of the people laughing at this are not laughing in a “merry” way. It’s a mocking laughter, because Failblog is about exploiting stupidity for our amusement. As such, posting this video was lewd and inappropriate.

      • To each their own, and I even get where you’re coming from. The only issue I have with this video is the privacy issue, though – laughing at something considered taboo like the symptoms of mental illness is far from exploitative, in my opinion, unless it’s actively coming at someone’s expense (home invasions being a great example, but not so much in a public place).

  132. kecky says:

I’m all for laughing at people who deserve it, but this is sick. This site should be for poking fun at people who lack common sense, not people who have mental disabilities. I’m sure this woman and the people who love her have enough to deal with when people stare at her in public for something that isn’t her fault, without some scumbag filming her on his phone and posting it on the internet for the rest of the scumbags of the world to stare and laugh at too. This isn’t a matter of “lightening up.” It’s a matter of dignity and privacy.

    • You think this is funny? says:

Excellent point about the invasion of this person’s privacy.

I’ve made other comments in here; repeated them a few times because I feel that strongly about making my point, which is essentially the same as yours.

If i saw someone making a video of my schizophrenic brother, that person would minus a camera phone.

      Thank you.

  147. Angry_Hamst3r says:

She is having a good time! I don’t know why you people have problem with that. Are you trying to imply that mentally impaired people cannot have a good time? And try to be funny? And laugh? And try to involve you? And be happy when they see you are laughing with them? Or at them? Don’t we all occasionally make asses of ourselves to make someone laugh? Oh, sorry, that would not be you, cause you are waaay too serious and … uptight… to ever do that.

  160. Molly Block says:

I think she was scared to fly, and when the plane landed, her feelings of relief were so overpowering that she showed that relief in such a manner. I think she is just very happy, overjoyed in fact, that the plane landed safely, and that it was a good landing. I bet she shimmied and danced all the way down the isle and off the ramp to whoever was waiting to greet her. Maybe she had a little bit to drink (do they still serve those little bottles of alcohol on the plane?) and maybe this too increased her euphoria over surviving such a scary plane ride. Some people are just scared to fly and I think she might be one of them. Like me! I’d feel that happy too, but unless I had a few drinks in me, I don’t think I’d be able to let loose like she did, LOL!

  161. Mindah says:

This woman is funny! and she knows it! LOL Thats why she’s doing it. Even if she has mental issues, people like that aren’t stupid, they know when they are doing something people will think is funny. My Grandpa had dementia and so did my Grandmother, and they both did things like this because people thought they were funny. Yea it’s a bad disease, but isn’t EVERY disease? Lighten up people.

    • You think this is funny? says:

You’re an uninformed idiot. People who are mentally ill are not having a good time. They SUFFER. EVERY F*CKING DAY! My older brother has schizophrenia. I have seen and heard him suffer.

And they cannot control their behavior, unless they take very strong medications that leave them feeling numb, tired, and depressed (according to my brother.) Get educated before you run your mouth.

This is not a fail. This is clearly a person with a disability. Please remove it. I have a disabled child, and if somebody posted a video of him purely to make fun of/laugh at him, I would be heartbroken.

    • You think this is funny? says:

My heart goes out to you. I agree that fail blog should remove it. It mocks the mentally ill.

I am outraged, because I know how much people with disabilities suffer, be they mental or physical.

My brother is schizophrenic. I have seen him suffer horribly. When people laugh at the disabled, it makes me angry, and very sad.

  170. JohnC says:

People, practically every thing posted on failblog is a result of a mental disability of some shape or form, the most common of which being “stupidity”. The only difference between this and most other posts is that this involves a rarer disability.

  171. Chris says:

The person is obviosly mentally unsound. Thats not funny.

  172. Me (not the me from earlier) says:

I admit it’s likely that she has a mental disability but I agree with the earlier post’s that we dont really know, she could be drunk or high.

“Ok so you should just stop laughing at all the fails in this site. Or any other photo or video that showed people hurting them self. For most of them it was not very funny. Like the guy in the golf cart could have had a serious injury and was hospitalized. Is it right to laugh at that? So just cut the hypocritical crap and laugh. – Shuenqui” I agree, almost every video is not funny to someone, like the section that had all the trees that were cut down go wrong. I doubt the person thought it was funny when the tree fell on them and they were hospitilised. It would be great if we could actually get the opinion of the women in question, if she was able. Who took the video? If it was a family member or friend and they were the ones to post the video I think it would be all right, but if the person had no permission to post the video, and the family didn’t want it to be posted, that would be wrong.

  173. K. says:

woah… *someones* been taking some pills to make herself loopy… she must hate flying enough to take *that* many pills

  174. miraidebbie says:

I agree with the people who say this isn’t funny. It’s fricken annoying. I don’t know what I’d do if I was in that guy’s place. If I was on the aisle I’d ask to move, but being trapped in I’d probably be stuck. The only one who may know what her problem is is the woman herself, despite the 50 posters who’ve commented that she “clearly” has one condition or another.

One way or another there’s no way I’d want her on my plane. Probably stuck with her, though.

  175. Casey says:

What if she doesn’t have a condition? What if everyone’s just overreacting and she’s just a crazy old cat lady? xD

  176. katz says:

Whatever. I sit next to people like this on the bus all the time.

  177. SanJacinto says:

    It’s Woodstock somewhere!

  178. Jesus C. says:

wierd how alzheimers is pretty much the only advetisement that shows up on this fail. :\

  179. ant1ph0n says:

    how sad, she’s senile.

  180. EL says:

I agree, this has no place here. She is obviously schizophrenic. If you found this funny, then you need to check yourself.

    • Me too says:

My brother is schizophrenic and acts this way, and worse, when he is off his meds.

Not funny at all to those of us who have mentally-ill loved ones. This video is a downer. Big fail for fail blog.

  181. You think this is funny? says:

To the person who took this video:
Why don’t you hang around a VA hospital or a school for crippled children. I’m sure you can get some hilarious shots of people falling out of their wheelchairs or tripping on their crutches. Real funny stuff.

BTW if you’re too dense to get it, that’s sarcasm, you insensitive piece of sh*t.

And a big “f*ck you” to fail blog for posting this.

And before the dipsh*ts tell me to “lighten up” let me add this:

I have a schizophrenic brother. I have heard him screaming in the night at the demons only he can hear; I have seen him flailing his arms at monsters only he can see; I’ve seen him laugh at jokes only he can hear.

This is not entertaining; it is tragic and terrifying. Terrifying because schizophrenia can strike at any young person; usually in the prime of their life.

I come to failblog to laugh at the unintended screw-ups we are all apt to make; not to mock the unfortunate innocent victims of horrible illnesses.

Shame on you, fail blog! MAJOR FAIL

  182. Npt says:

    weird creature…

  183. Prime says:

    GRAMMA IS HIGH

  184. SFred says:

I didn’t find this funny, but I know I’d be a bit scared if I was sitting next to that lady. I was made very uncomfortable watching this. I do wonder why they would allow people in her condition to fly like this and cause a disruption, but then again some people would wonder why we let babies on planes for the exact same reasons. However, people shouldn’t have to put up with total strangers invading their personal space. Just my two cents, not trying to be a d*ck.

  185. Monkey says:

    Autism, n.
    1. (formerly) an abnormal absorption with the self; marked by communication disorders and short attention span and inability to treat others as people
    2. see retardation, imbecility, etc.

  186. Monkey says:

    SAD PANDA. :(

    Why is everyone so sad?

Cheer up people. This woman is completely effing oblivious to her condition. Stop projecting your own abysmal self-pity onto her. You egocentric bastards. Laugh at her instead: that way she is at least contributing some positive value to the world.

    • scottwadd says:

Agreed. I used to serve a lady who looked alot like her and acted the same at a cafe I worked at. She was clearly having a great time. If I ever lose my marbles I want it to be like that.
Oh and to “you think this is funny”, I am guessing you would be the least tolerant if you happened to be sat next to her.

      • You think this is funny? says:

I would have asked the jerk recording her, to stop. So guess again.

I would ignore her behavior (as best I could) , except in the following situations: If I were on a plane/bus/train and felt threatened by the erratic behavior, or thought the person was in distress, I would quietly alert the authorities to check on the person.

In any event, I would not get out the camera to record her, and post it on the internet for mindless people to laugh at. It’s an invasion of her privacy, and incredibly insensitive.

My point is about compassion and understanding, not sorrow or pity, for the afflicted. Those who are mentally or developmentally disabled don’t deserve to be ridiculed, on top of everything else they have to go through. Allow them the dignity that their disease does its utmost to take from them.

There is a line between comedy and cruelty. Most people wouldn’t laugh at a retarded person for not getting an obvious joke, or a person with no legs falling out of their wheelchair; or mock bald children who lost their hair to chemo, or people who cannot control their behavior due to an illness. It would be a shame if this site has decided they want to cater to the people who would.

    • You think this is funny? says:

It is possible the person in the video is not mentally ill, but has another affliction that causes her to lose control over her behavior, while at the same time being perfectly sound of mind. In which case she would KNOW you are mocking her, and why, but can’t do anything about it. Still think that’s funny?

  187. Ward says:

    How is this a fail?

  188. Vaccine says:

Sorry…But if the person who shot this video is reading this ( i will be posting on youtube as well) please please please READ THE OPERATORS MANUAL TO YOUR CAMERA BEFORE YOU USE. maybe then you might understand Shaky, uncontrolled video, in any situation is not acceptable in any way shape or form. Ty for your time

  189. oak says:

Now, see, FAIL Blog, if you had posted a video of someone with a mental illness being stupid –regardless of– their mental illness, that would be great. I’m all for equal opportunity mockery. However, it’s just not funny when the situation is directly caused by their mental illness.

And no, I’m not particularly concerned for the woman herself – she seems to be having a good time – but mainly her family. If anyone doesn’t get it, think about how this the family might feel if they found this on the internet. Not only are they probably going through watching her lose her sanity, but then some jackass posts it online. Lame.

  190. I'm With Stupid says:

Everyone who feels that this post is unethical should click “Contact Us” at the bottom of this page and write directly to the FAILBlog staff. That is the best way to persuade them of the inappropriateness of this post.

    • You think this is funny? says:

Thank you for the great suggestion. I just did.

      • Shuenqui says:

“Ok so you should just stop laughing at all the fails in this site. Or any other photo or video that showed people hurting them self. For most of them it was not very funny. Like the guy in the golf cart could have had a serious injury and was hospitalized. Is it right to laugh at that? So just cut the hypocritical crap and laugh”
Sorry dude… if you laugh at even one of the fail blog posts than you are just being a hypocrite. its not funny to you because it affects you in some way (and if i were in a similar situation as yours i probably would feel the same) as all the other posts of accidents are offensive to the people who lived them or identifies with them. so before you get all righteous think about others and reflect on your own actions.

  191. anita says:

how can you laugh at this? she is obviously disturbed..

  192. wow that woman is crazy.

  193. Amanda says:

I can’t believe this video has been up for almost a week and it hasn’t been removed… massive fail, failblog. It seems like most of the people here agree with me too. Mental illness is NOT FUNNY and watching this video made me want to cry, not laugh.

  194. dr_boy says:

I’m so pleased Failblog are posting videos of the mentally ill.

As a doctor, I’ll be able to upload plenty of videos of other hilarious situations, such as patients who are vomiting after chemotherapy, people suffering grand mal epileptic and diabetic seizures, and pysch patients drooling on themselves after being given thorazine (to name but a few comedic classics).

I’m also delighted to see that Failblog don’t see any need to preserve privacy or dignity, so I won’t bother myself with that either.

Oh the fun we will all have now.

    • Dr says:

      Hey doctor!
Sou you are saying that she is mentally ill for certain. Nice doctor you are. How did you made this diagnosis? Could you PLEASE teach me how to exclude all the other causes of the excitement presented by the “patient” in discussion?

  195. codymfbonds says:

you guys take stuff way to far into thought did anyone stop to think maybe the old ladie isn’t a stiff and maybe she was drunk you know you can drink on planes it is funny so until you prove to me she has a mental illness i am lmao

    • Amanda says:

Why do you think that we need to prove to you that she is mentally ill before you would stop laughing? I would think that a sensible person would feel the opposite, that you wouldn’t laugh at it until you knew for sure that she wasn’t mentally ill. Either way, this video really isn’t funny. Even if she is just drunk or high I don’t see any humor in it. If she is drunk, its pathetic, not funny.

  196. myra says:

    chill out. it was funny

  197. Lai-Lai says:

Remember kids, schizophrenia, Turrets, & drugs don;t mix.

  198. buub says:

omg you people need to lighten up. if you dont like it just chill and watch some other funny fails. you dont know anything about this person so dont get mad at us for getting some humor out of it

  199. hubb says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  200. iZak says:

    That’s not funny. He’s austistic.

  201. Lil Potts says:

“A Chip Off The Old Block!”

  202. kale says:

HILARIOUS!!! Drunk or not….ill or not…still HILARIOUS!

  203. RKO says:

Sucks to be sitting beside her.

  204. BlackKat says:

    is she high?

  205. woof says:

the dude near her is HOT!

  206. G says:

This is what happens when your family tree doesn’t branch!

  207. Morgin says:

you all that are hating on this video need to shut up! it’s funny!!! i highly doubt she has someting wrong with her, if so sorry, but it’s freaking halarious! so back off.

  208. MrTT says:

I thought she was mentally retarded, but then at the end someone asks “are you okay” and her face becomes normal and she responds in a perfectly pronounced voice “yes I am perfectly fine”.

  209. Jan, from the netherlands says:

This person is suitable for a madhouse

  210. vaca peluda says:

funny as hell! maybe it wouldnt be funny if it happens to your loved one, but since she is not then you can LAUGH YOUR LUNGS OUT!
